Cannot do a category search

I have tried a few times to do a category search only, I keep
getting sent to this page, then send in an email regarding the
problem to little avail!

The category search still does not work! I did find a
solution that works and that is to not use it, instead use the
search at the top right of the page

When I click on a result of a Google search and then go that web site, the Back button on the toolbar is grayed out and I cannot return to the search results.

When using FF3.6 and making a Google search, when I click on a result and then go that web site, the Back button on the toolbar is grayed out and I cannot return to the search results without going to History. This does not happen all the time; about 1/2 of the time.
This problem is not limited to Google, but occurs with other sites as well.

If you are talking about searches from - http://www.google.com/ - are you logged into a Google account all the time? If so, check your "Search Settings" from the "gear" in the upper-right corner of that Google search page and see if you have '''Open search results in a new browser window.''' check-marked, at the bottom of that preferences page. When that is check-marked and you have Tab options in Firefox set to '''Open new windows in a new tab instead''', you will get search results always opening in a new tab instead of the same tab. As to why that works different for "sponsored links" I don't know, I haven't seen the "sponsored links" for years now, I have a GM script that blocks those advertisements.

Cannot click in the Search field

I cannot click in the Search field and perform a search in the Store.

File -> New -> New Smart Album is the way to do that.

Category search box?

I'm trying to create a category search similar to NetBeans 6.5 or Safari (Mac OS X) search box, which displays an arrow and magnifying glass on the left for selection of a category (or a field in a table to search on). How is this best done?

OK I found it (you're lucky I have NetBeans available right away!).
As far as the logic of the component goes, you can put two widgets nested in a JPanel, BorderLayout: one JComboBox WEST, and one JTextField, CENTER. I leave you search about the auto-completion (or auto-search) on the JTextField, widely discussed on Java forums.
But I guess I see what appeals you in the, e.g. NetBeans search box rendering, is that it gives the appearance that the drop-down box is actually part of the text field, as there is nor border between the text field and the drop-down box (except a small vertical separator that foes not span the whole height).
It may not be easy to render that, one simple hack could be to override the JTextField.paint() method and clip the Graphics object to a smaller rectangle (that doesn't include the left-hand border of the textfield), then call super.paint() with the clipped Graphics. Same thing goes for the right-hand side of the JComboBox. Easier still, clip both Graphics so that no border appears, and let the containing JPanel have a LineBorder (but it might not look exactly like a JTextFiled border).
Of course you have to set the same background color to the JTF and JCBox, if it's not the case out of the box.

I cannot type in the search box in iTunes

I cannot type in the search box in iTunes. I have the latest version for Windows as of February 2012. I have had the problem through several releases... over six months. OS Windows 7 and iTunes version is ? (Humm...there is no Help, About.

Welcome to the club, Robert. Don't hold your breath while waiting for help on this "user support" forum. I posted about this issue a week ago, and '''not one person has responded''' unless you count me posting follow-up "replies" in an effort to keep the posted question from disappearing under the avalanche of new questions posted here.
I presume that knowledgeable Firefox users (and developers) either do not read this forum very often, do not care about the problem we are citing, or do not have any clue about what could be causing the issue. I have been using Firefox as my preferred browser for years on my Mac computers, and have never encountered a problem this significant. It is not merely "annoying"; it makes Firefox ''unusable ''on some sites!
My only advice to you is
# use Safari for those websites where you need to be able to type comments or questions, and
# hope that '''some developer with Mozilla or Apple''' makes the changes needed to resolve this problem.
Otherwise, we Mac users will have no choice but to abandon Firefox as we get sick and tired of dealing with this issue.

Cannot turn off predicted searches

I cannot turn off predicted searches in FF and every time i fire up FF it goes to the search preferences page and i have to save my setting before i can get to the home page, this happens EVERY time. I have done all the cookie stuff, cleared them enabled them, disabled them and re-enabled them, tried every setting i can think of but it always does the same thing and i have to go through the save settings procedure

It could be that Google search is your homepage. You can try to change/delete the unwanted homepages in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''General''', beside '''Home Page:''' and add a new one. The predictive search in Google is a Google feature and you may have to go into the Google Search options to turn it off.

Cannot edit calendar category

Not sure why this hasn't been corrected yet, but on both the iPhone and the iPad, once you create a calendar event, you cannot edit the category. You can only do this via the Mac app or MobileMe. Why???

To clarify...
When I create a calendar item on my iPhone or iPad, I choose which calendar (category/group/type, whatever). I said category to imply I had set up different calendars. So for instance, most of the time I will select the "Work (green)" calendar which happens to be the default.. The problem is that if I accidentally save the item in the wrong calendar, I cannot change it on the iPhone or iPad.
Here's a scenario to make sure everyone is crystal clear on this...
I create a new event, input the time, place, alarm, notes and then I save it. Oops, I meant to save it as a "Personal (blue)" calendar event, but it was saved as a "Work (green)" event. Now, I have to go to MobileMe and change it because I cannot do so on the iPhone or iPad.
Okay now, hope that clears it up.

Cannot send Mail from Search shortcut "email [name of contact]" with exchange account

i have a Q10 with an exchange Account configured. Mail works fine from the hub but when i use the search feature of the q10 by typing "email [name of contact]" the compser opens but i cannot send. the account field is empty and when i press send the button gets greyed out. the email is not sent.
the problem seems to be that the default-account setting is not recognised when you use the search-shortcut-feature of the q10. when i compose a mail from the hub the account-field is filled right.
same problem has a friend of mine from another company. he also uses a different excahnge server/account.
os-version: 10.1.0.238

Cannot delete composer field in iTunes - so cannot use it to search my classical music collection !

To search my classical music collection easily within iTunes, I delete the composer field for all non-classical music. This works nicely on my Mac and on my old iPod. However, when I sync with my newish iPhone and iPad - the composer is still listed ! I chatted to Apple support and they said this was known behaviour and not a bug.
The failure for a composer deletion to sync, means that I cannot easily search my classical music - instead I have to wade through millions of non-classical composers in my collection (I search the non-classical music by using the artist field).
I think others have had this problem judging by other fora. I wondered if anyone knows of a sneaky fix, or whether Apple intend to correct this problem - which I'm guessing is alienating anyone who has sizeable classical music collection !

I have exactly the same issue. First for me the issue is only related to songs purchased on iTunes. Second the field is updated as long as I put something there. But as soon as I delete it completely (and the same behaviour I have with other fields like track number) iPhone picks up original value. My guess is that for any blank filed it tries to get the value from iTunes store. It is extremely annoying as I also use composer filed for classical music only. The only solution to that problem is stop buying from iTunes store.

SRMO - Cannot delete Index Category after System Copy

Hi,
I am trying to delete incorrect Index Categories using t-code SRMO after a system copy (restore db from backup) from our production system to our sandbox system.
When I select the Index Category and click on the "Delete Category" button I get this message:
Error during deletion of language 'EN'. Search
engine result '3147'
When I click on the Help button I get this:
Error during deletion of language 'EN'. Search engine result '3147'
Message no. SRET148
Diagnosis
When the index category is deleted, all languages, and consequently all physical indices on the search server (RFC server) are deleted.
If a physical index could not be deleted, the index category is not deleted or set to inactive either. This is to prevent the index from staying on the search server without R/3 inforamtion.
Procedure
Firstly clean up all languages / indexes for which this information appears.
Use the function to delete an index without R/3 information (if such an index exists) and / or the function to delete the language without an index from the R/3 System.
You can then call the function 'Delete index category' again.
Any ideas on what function they are talking about in the second to last paragraph: "function to delete an index without r/3 information"?

I have exactly the same problem, only that the index category still can't be deleted even after I deleted the languages first. I still get the error message '3147'. It says that there was an error deleting the languages. As procedure it is suggested (as before) to first delete the languages and then again the index category. But the languages are no longer displayed in the index category.
Does anybody know how I should proceed in order to delete the old invalid index and to create a new one for indexing with the new TREX?

Monitor Shopping Cart, Product category search Issue

It is showing all the product cateogry, some of which not required
for Example :It is showing R3MATCLASS and R3PRODSTYP product cateogry
My question is
1) How I can restrict R3PRODSTYP product category
2) Can I restrict R3MATCLASS product category also individually in search

table ;comm_category and comm_prcat
and
The field Product Category (CATEGORY_ID) has search help(COM_CAT_HIER)

Parametric/Category Search Summary

Hi,
I'm looking at replacing a bit of search functionality in an application with Oracle Text.
One of the things that we want to do is, as well as displaying the pages of search results, is display a summary of the sub-categories of the search results.
Not sure if I'm explaining my self very well.
But, for example, lets say a search query returns 200 results then we would be displaying these results as well as displaying how the results breakdown by author and by date or by subject. So, this summary might say that the 200 results are broken down under author as "author A (10) , author B(50), .... etc" and subject might be "news (150), sport (50)" etc.
Obviously a large part of this is application design, but are there any Oracle Text features (up to latest 10gR2) that lend themselves to this?
Or is it a case of materialising the whole result set and then summing the various categories that we want to sum (author, subject, date range, etc)?
There is a presentation here, http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/text/index.html, where on page 13 they have a breakdown of results by category. Is there a special feature that can help with this at all?

While in safari I cannot scroll a category!?!?

While in safari I often cannot scroll. For instance I just downloaded pinterest and when I want to pin something I can only pin what is showing in the category window, but cannot scroll further down to my other categories that are not showing. The only time I can scroll further is when a scroll window pops up. Is there something in my settings that I am missing?

If it is a window within a web page, try using 2 fingers to scroll.

Cross category search in CCM 2

Hi guys,
Our client is used to work with a Requisite Catalog in which it was possible to search and select positions in various categories/views within the same catalog. After selecting the positions, one could transfer them all at once to a shopping cart.
Now we are implementing CCM 2.0.
CCM 2.0 seems to work in the following way:
One enters a category within a Catalog and picks for example two positions (materials).
Then one has to add this selection first to the shopping cart and after this one can pick again the catalog and go to another category to pick more materials.
This procedure occupies a lot more time than in Requisite.
My question is if one can modify the -Selection and Picking procedure- in CCM 2.0 in such a way that one can select all materials first (within various categories in the same catalog) and secondly, transfer them to the shopping cart all at once?
Please help me out here, any reply is welcome.
