Cannot dowload Adobe Air???

As corrected by my discussion panel friend, OrangeMarlin, I should have directed this question to this support community vs. the MacBook Pro community!
Anyways, since upgrading to Lion, I've had to un-install Adobe Air from my laptop.  The reason is that a supported software is required to be run on Air and I was getting error messages from this supported software.  However, I am now unable to reinstall Adobe Air.  I'm getting repeated messages that I need to download a new version of Adobe Air??  Each time I go to Adobe's site to download it, I get the same message.
Did something change with the Lion OS?  Is anyone else having these issues with Adobe Air?  And if so, what solution, if any, have you been able to determine.
Thank you.

  • Cannot install Adobe AIR and CS6 suite

    Hi folks,
Lets start with: i am the build in local admin account! i did run as admin! and as far as i know i got rights on everything.
    Windows 7 SP1 64bit.
I did try selective boot through msconfig, and i did try it also in safe modes in the most minimal state.
Creating a shortcut with the "-uninstall" string obviously not work, because there is no more installation of Adobe air or CS6 products installed on my machine.
This is what the Adobe AIR installer log tells me,

I googled my cute little hiney off, for almost 2 full days now.. spent alot of time in the Win7 register and in deep hidden windows folders.
As far as i know i completly removed Adobe Air and CS6 products.
Also tried the adobe creative cloud cleaner tool everyone is talking about, but it not even start on my machine?!
Why the hell! i cannot install Adobe AIR or CS6 Products?
If you need more information, i am happy to give it to you.
    PS
Adobe flash, shockwave and Reader work perfect?!!?!?!?!
I leave problems reports about Adobe CS6 products out of this discussion for now, because i have a feeling that the problem is connected with eachother.

If I am getting it correctly, both requires same ARM version, and Hardware Vector FPU.
But I have found many devices, where Adobe Flash is installed and running. (If market does not show Adobe Flash, device manufacturer provides flash apk which works)
But can not install Adobe Air. Market does not show Adobe Air.
Is there any way to sort this out?
I get feeling that as Flash is more popular software, people have got patched version for the same. But for Air, it does not exist.

  • Cannot install Adobe Air on Android phone

I cannot install Adobe AIR on my Android phone (v. 2.2.1)
I search for "Adobe AIR" in the market and the app is not found.
So, I downloaded an app that was build to run in AIR and when I launch it, I get an alert "This application requires Adobe AIR.  Install AIR now?"  I click Install and I get an alert "The requested item could not be found."
Then I installed the Amazon store and purchased (for free) Adobe Air, but it too fails on install.
I can't believe this is an issue w/ my phone.
Anyone know what the issue could be?
    Thanks!

  • Cannot download Adobe Air on Windows 7.

I cannot download Adobe air to my computer. I consistently receive the following error message: An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator. I have tried turning off my anitvirus program although it says it is safe.

I am having the same error message upgrading Adobe AIR 3.8 to 3.9. Fully patched and up-to-date Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Windows Installer Service is verified running. Logitech proceses have been stopped. Antivirus program has been paused. That exhausts all the solutions I can find on the web! I have another computer with the same OS that is not having the problem ... hmm.

  • What Crap. And you cannot uninstall Adobe Air

Adobe is really losing my vote on trying to do things it knows nothing about. This media player is one prime example.
But you cannot uninstall Adobe Air as it is needed for Adobe Acrobat. Adobe is not tying things together using Adobe Air. So I guess Air has to stay.
But Adobe Media Player. What a piece of sh*t. I have .flv files on my computer that i created and could not even clear the most recent files played. And if I threw that file away, the video stayed on the list with a purple triangle saying error. Yea, no sh*t Adobe, I threw it away so take it off the list or let me clear the recently played files.
Adobe is just getting into bed with more companies and this is just another example of no user control and blatant commercialism on Adobe's part.
Screw Adobe on this one. Not even an uninstaller and by the way, I am on the Mac. I just trashed the program and when I tried to trash Air, that is when it said Acrobat uses that.
For shame Adobe. Think next time.

Please try enabling installer logging to get a better idea of
why the uninstall is failing. If you can post that log, I should be
    able to help further. See

  • Help! Cannot install Adobe Air

I just downloaded the Adobe Air exe(version 1.1) and upon
clicking on it, it doesn't anything. Nothing happens. I am running
Windows XP Pro and have 2BG of ram.
Does air require anything to install it such as flash player
or Java run time? I'm pretty sure I have java installed but not
sure if I've got flash player.
    what else can I do?

You can either send the data contained by clicking on the
"see here" link or, even better, grab the minidump file (in
    c:\windows\minidump, usually) and post that.
OK....got the report error thing working. So yes, it is in
    fact crashing.
    Under error signature it says:
AppName: adobe air installer.exe AppVer: 1.1.0.5790 ModName:
    adobe air.dll
    ModVer: 1.1.0.5790 Offset: 00101c70
Then when I click the click here link, it get a box
containing the error report content, but I cannot copy the text
because it cannot be highlighted. Is there way I can obtain the
contents of the error another way? Like say, instead of having
windows send the error report to microsoft, I can send it to you?
The minidump folder does not contain anything by the
    way.

  • Cannot install Adobe Air on new MacBook Pro - Help!

I have a brand new MacBook Pro and I am trying to install a program from Real Networks called Rinse (cleans up your iTunes).  When installing Rinse, I get a message that says the program requires Adobe Air and that I will need to download and install it.  I have downloaded the Adobe Air install program from the Adobe site, however when I go to install it, it either does nothing at all---or it gives me an error message that I need Adobe Air in order to install Adobe Air (makes no sense).  Specifically, I get the message below:
This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.
Please download the latest version of the runtime from
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getair,
or contact the application author for an updated version.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

    Hi,
I would recommend you try downloading Adobe Air from this link : Get Adobe Air.
You will have to manually select the operating system and version before you begin the download.
If you continue to have the same issue, I would recommend that you post it in the Adobe Air Forums.
    Thanks

I have no ideea what could be the problem

    Hello
Finally good news. The Compatibility mode it seems that solves the  issue, but it has to be used for the AdobeAIRInstaller.exe or whatever you try to run to install the adobe AIR.
The steps I followed are below:
    1. Used the Windows Installer Cleanup and removed the Adobe AIR. (This could not be removed earlier from control Panel because the same error was shown)
    2. Run the AdobeAIRInstaller.exe in Compatibility mode Windows XP SP3.
    3. Install the Adobe AIR application. (This might also need the Compatibility mode set to XP SP3 if it's an EXE file)
Note: I also tried a variant with compatibility mode set to Windows XP SP3 to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe and that also worked but only after the reinstallation of Adobe AIR.
As I see, if all exe's are set to Compatibility mode XP SP3 it is pretty much possible to solve the problem. I can do a few tests and come back since I cloned the PC to vmWare so I can work with the nonworking version of the app endlessly.

  • Cannot Uninstall Adobe Air - tried everything - Pandora not working.

I cannot update AdobeAir and now pandora will not work. I have been trying to update for months.
There is an unspecified error each time I try.
So now I am trying to uninstall AIR, so I can attempt to reinstall.  I get the same error when I try to uninstall.
I am am the admistrator on my machine - and I have tried to uninstall as administrator. No difference.
I tried to uninstall at the CMD line - no difference.
I am on my work maching - Windows XP Professional Version 2002 - SP3
    AIR is version 1.5.3.9130
    Please help!

    Hi guys,
Could you try uninstalling AIR using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility?  Details on this app can be found on this post.  If that does not solve the problem, the next step would be to examine your AIR installer logs.  Here are the details for this procedure:
    1. Ensure that viewing hidden folders is enabled.  Instructions can be found on Microsoft's site:
    Windows 7, Vista, XP
    2. Navigate to the following folder (replace username with your login name):
    Windows 7:  C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe\AIR\logs
    Vista:  C:\Users\ username\AppData\Local\Adobe\AIR\logs
    XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\AIR\logs
    3. Please attach the install.log to your forum post or open the log file with Notepad or your favorite text editor and select all and copy/paste.
    4. In some situations the AIR installer will fail during the MSI portion of the install.  You can determine if this occurred by searching the Install.log text for "Error occurred during msi install operation".  If this text is found, please enable and locate the MSI log using this Microsoft document and include it, along with the AIR Install.log when reporting the install issue.
How to enable Windows Installer logging
Once MSI logging is enabled, please re-run the AIR Installer to generate the MSI Log.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Cannot Install Adobe Air 15.0.0.356 on MacOS 10.7.5

I am getting the following error during install.  Would appreciate any suggestions to resolve this issue.
During installation of Adobe AIR, you receive an error dialog with contents similar to "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR.  Installation may not be allowed by your administrator.  Please contact your administrator."
I followed the instructions here (twice), but it did not resolve the issue.
During installation of Adobe AIR, you receive an error dialog with contents similar to "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR.  Installation may not be allowed by your administrator.  Please contact your administrator."
Follow these steps for the manual solution:
Using Finder, navigate to your Applications folder and look for a file (not a folder) named "Adobe".  If one exists, rename or delete it.
Open the Terminal application in your Applications/Utilities folder.  Run the following commands:

    2
    3
    4
    sudo chmod -R ug=rwx,o=rx /Applications/Adobe
    sudo chmod -R ug=rwx,o=rx ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/
    sudo chmod -R ug=rwx,o=rx ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/AIR/
    sudo chmod -R ug=rwx,o=rx /Users/Shared/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/
Next, adjust the ownership of a particular folder. Run the following two commands in Terminal, noting the user name response of the "whoami" command.  Replace username with your username in the next command:
    whoami
    sudo chown -R username:staff ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/AIR/
Close the Terminal application and rerun the Adobe AIR  installer.

Same here... no success at all.
Now going to Mac Time Capsule to revert to earlier today and start all over again.  Two hours wasted trying to do what should be a simple app installation.

I don't know what might cause the error, I had the same problem if I wanted to install the current version of Adobe AIR 1.5. I had to force remove it with "Uninstall Tool". That did not help tho. I even re-activate UAC. Maybe my ESET Smart Security is causing the problem? I'm not sure...maybe my Logitech G110 Keyboard Drivers? Dunno...help would be appreciated.
