Help!

Ok and you did log in as root and saw Welcome to Mac OS X Safe boot?
If so we will try the longer solution which seems to have lead to success for many users.  Please complete the following steps:
Remove all Adobe Creative Applications using the uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
Run the clean up utility directions can be found at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
Reboot in Safe Boot in the Root User account
Download the Adobe Application Manager from https://creative.adobe.com/
Download and install any Adobe Creative application besides Acrobat
Download and install Adobe Acrobat
Open the Adobe Creative application download previously
Open Adobe Acrobat
Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions about any of these steps.  I would recommend completing them in full as several users have reported success by following these directions.

  • Cannot install Acrobat X Pro. AAM says "installed" - but no sign of the "Launch app" option.

The Adobe Application Manager states Acrobat X Pro is installed but there is no "Launch App" option.
I have succesfully installed Ai, Ps and Id, but Acrobat X Pro is giving me a headache!
The app installed with a warning and 2 errors. (I did not save the text about this event - and I cannot repeat the operation that led me there,)
I can recall some detail from the text:
    • The installer could not remove data from an (old?) file from my Acrobat 9 installation.
    • There was a reference to the installer "lacking permission(s)" for some operation.
    • Also, some reference to my computer not supporting several "requirements".
I have since uninstalled my Acrobat 9 installation, but cannot uninstall Acrobat X Pro. (It is not listed under "Programs & Features".)
I also cannot re-install Acrobat X Pro - the AAM won't let me.
Any ideas? Can I download a trial-copy, then try to install that? Would it be recognized by the AAM?

Thank you, Baljeet - that worked well - However, the now installed Acrobat X Pro version 10,1.1.33 apparently needs a update/patch to upgrade Acrobat to vs. 10.1.3, and after much effort and many forum-suggested fixes, I cannot complete the update. (It "rolls-back" and reports an Error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\2c4f05.rbf. Verify.......access to that directory.")
I have also received the same ("1310") error, but referencing a lack of sufficient "permission to modify....a certain file". (I can't now recall which file.)
To further complicate matters, my Secunia P.S. Inspector app also reported the need for an update - which did not complete either. It is now perpetually "Waiting for update to complete".
I hope you can solve this problem too! Thanks.

  • Cannot Uninstall Acrobat 9 Pro

    Hi,
I installed Acrobat 9 Pro and PhotoShop CS4 from the CS4 Suite pack on Windows Vista Home Premium.
I had to uninstall them, so i used the CS4 Cleanup Script from Adobe website. I did not use the Windows Add/Remove Prorgrams. Due to some issue, the Windows installer program keeps giving me a message saying 'Gathering Information' and it goes away.
After restart i found that the Adobe Acrobat directories have 1.0 GB worth of Files. The desktop icons for Acrobat Pro are restored.
I tried deleting the directories but they come back after a restart. I tried Windows Installer Cleanup script but Acrobat 9 just strikes back!
I even used Revo Uninstaller and Registry cleanup utilities to clean the registry but did not help much.
Now, I cannot use the software because it says that installation has to be repaired. If i try repairing it, nothing happens. I tried re-installing from the pack but the Acrobat Pro option is disabled !
What should i do? how to remove Acrobat Pro 9 and re-install only a few components from my CS4 suite?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Anand

  • CS6 - cannot install Acrobat X Pro

Upon installed everything from the CS6 pack, it pops up that Acrobat X Pro cannot be installed with error message :
ERROR: DW050:  - Acrobat Professional: Install failed
    Any idea?

Mid of Aug. 2013, I bought a new Lenovo T430s notebook pc  & Adobe CS6 Master Collection (student edition, ENGLISH Version) in Hong Kong, then find out i could not install first all of the software in CS6 Master collection, and then could install all other software in CS6 Master collection, except Acrobat X Pro could not be installed.
I use many methods listed in Adobe Help Community and had installation for over 5 times still cannot work it out.
I then call to Adobe Technical Support Hotline: 852- 3071 4922 in Hong Kong, Mr David Leung at technical support talked to me three times in a week, and we communciate by email too.
Over the phone, David Leung instructed to install Acrobat X Pro from my notebook pc 's safe mode by type in "misconfig" at run, but still could not install Acrobat X Pro from CS6 Master collection.
Here are the whole case, and method to solve it, anyone face similar installation problem that could not install Acrobat X Pro from Adobe CS6 Master Collection under Window 8, could try this method that I use, and i could install Acrobat X Pro in success by myself finally over 10 days.
    Computer for install the software:
    - a NEW Lenovo Notebook computer, Model T430s, Window 8 (Traditional Chinese Version), Microsoft Office 2013,
NO Anti-virsus software and other software are installed, deleted Adobe AIR installed in the notebook computer
Actions Taken try to install CS6 Master Collection and Acrobat X Pro (* BUT NOT WORK):
    - use Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
    - set Regional Language Setting to UK English in computer
    - reinstall CS6 master collection, and Acrobat X Pro for few times
    - used another new set up administrator account to log in computer to install the software
    Notes:
    - First time to install CS6 master collection, only Acrobat X Pro and InDesign Software BOTH could not installed successfully. Then base on a Chinese user in China posted info online from google, and use his method to delete 'Caps.db' and 'pdb.db' in Program Files(x86)/common files/adobe/caps, then re-install CS6 master collection, then InDesign and other software could be installed, but only Acrobat X Pro still cannot be installed.
Aug 23. 2013, I click on the given link from Adobe techncial support David Leung by email:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/errors-exit-code-6-exit.htmlhttp://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/errors-exit-code-6-exit.html
I read the solutions info at the link ant then take the following action:
    Action DONE:
    Go to  D:\Adobe CS6\payloads\Microsoft_VC80_CRT_x86
    -         Then see its Install Shield Wizard, and CLICK “Repair” Icon, then enter
    -         Then install the Acrobat X Pro of the CS6 Master collection
    -         Then show this error after installation is not done successfully
    -         * Note: now has only Three Error messages
    Exit Code: 6
Please see specific errors and warnings below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR: DW050 ...

ERROR: DW050: The following payload errors were found during install:
ERROR: DW050:  - Acrobat Professional: Install failed
I see one of the error message is Error 1335 , which has shown in some of the past trial installation of Acrobat X Pro from Cs6 master collection.  I then go to search error 1335 on Adobe help community online and see this link info:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/install-error-1311-1335-or.html
    Error 1311, 1335, or 2350 "Source file not found...data1.cab" |Install Adobe products | Windows
I then use its mention method, I COPY the DISC 1 of Adobe Cs6 master collection from the D: of my notebook computer to my computer Desktop 's new folder (I make a new folder on desktop first). Then I install the Acrobat X Pro from the copied whole disc 1 at the Desktop folder, then I could install Acrobat X Pro immediately and successfully to my Window 8 (Chinese) platform notebook computer. I could use Acrobat X Pro (i.e Acrobat 10.0) at the computer now.  It means to install Acrobat X Pro from DESKTOP is the solution.
    ** FOR ADOBE:
Share these with you, hope it could help, and wish ADOBE could archive my case and this method to help all others.
Normal users same as me must feel frustrations if could not install Adobe software. ADOBE as an international software developer should fix the bugs asap once it already know the bugs relate to Window 8 or any other new pc software may crash Adobe software !!!

  • Cannot install Acrobat XI pro mac

Just bought a new Acrobat XI Pro for my Mac and I am getting this error message when I try to install:
"The installation cannot proceed, because the operating system is running on a case sensitive volume."
    Please advise.

encryption is another layer (of potential problems) but can be done on case sensitive and case insensitive file systems.  you apparently have an encrypted case-sensitive file system.
you can confirm by creating a directories named test and TEST.  if you have two different directories, you have a case-sensitive file system.
if you do you'll need to change that or create a case-insensitive partition.

  • Cannot update Acrobat X Pro

Installed Acrobat X Pro in Windows 7. Downloaded update and tried to install. Got the following error message from the Adobe Acrobat Updater: "Update failed. The system cannot open the device or file specified." No error number displayed.
I then tried the Adobe update troubleshooting procedure: reinstall Reader or use a different browser (IE8 & Firefox 4). Still cannot update Acrobat. I was unable to check the Reader as no updates were available.
What do I do nex?. Any help would be appreciated.

Acrobat version 10.0.0. Three updates are available 10.0.1 through 10.0.3. Downloaded by Acrobat "Help" and "Check for updates..." Is there another help menu to download from? I assume these are downloaded together. How can I download or install one at a time? Where is the downloaded file located? Where do I find the Adobe Updater? Is there any way to do this download/install process manually?
While troubleshooting this problem the error message changed when I tried the install:
This is now the only message I get. It appears that the update is being downloaded correctly. I tried the Microsoft Fix It wizard as recommended in the Adobe Troubleshooting page -- didn't work.
And I still can't download updates. Still need help!

  • Cannot Install Acrobat 9 Pro after Installing IE8

The story... Running Vista Business.  I've been running Acrobat 9 Pro for a while now.  I have since upgraded my browser from IE6 (default install) to IE7 to IE8.  Today I decided to uninstall/reinstall Acrobat 9 Pro to troubleshoot an issue.  All of a sudden, the Acrobat 9 Pro installer quits during the preinstall checks and says, "Acrobat requires Internet Explorer version 6".
At this point, downgrading IE is out of the question (for a multitude of reasons), so I re-ran the Acrobat 9 installer, this time doing a custom install.  In the advanced settings, I unchecked the PDFMaker for Internet Explorer option.  After that, the installer ran without any errors.  Wanted to post this in case some else out there runs into this issue.
Apparently when Adobe built Acrobat 9, they assumed that IE versions would never go above 6.
    Bug or bust? Your call.

  • Cannot Install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - More Functional Product Available

I am trying to install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on my new PC. I get an error that a more functional product is avilable on my PC and the install closes. I installed Framemaker 10 before attempting Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. I notice a folder in my files that is Acrobat 10 (but there is no icon or program option in the menus). Is this the problem? Do I need to uninstall Framemaker, then install Acrobat 9, and then reinstall Framemaker? Any help is appreciated.

  • Cannot reinstall acrobat x pro; error message 1402

I had acrobat X pro installed, could not update, error message 1402 popped up.  Adobe site suggested uninstalling Acrobat and reinstalling, uninstalled, tried to reinstall but with 57 seoncds left of reinstallation error message 1402 appeared and installation was backed out.  I went from not being able to update to not having the program on my machine at all.  How can I reinstall?

Here is one suggestion: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1402-error-1406-acrobat.html. What I suggest it to follow the instructions to uninstall all versions. Then run the cleaner (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html) and remove any part left of the Acrobat folder (typically in Program Folders>Adobe). Reboot as the administrator and disable anti-virus. Then try the install.

  • Cannot Get Acrobat X Pro to Start

I've istalled Adobe Acrobat X Pro on my Dell Precision T7400 with 20 gigs of ram running the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate N edition.  When I click on the icon to start the program, I get a momentary hourglass icon and then nothing happens.  I've updated to version 10.1.3, I believe it is, but the problem has not changed.  Thanks for any help that can be offered.

  • Cannot reinstall Acrobat X Pro in Application Manager on Mac

Due to installation of Acrobat X Pro in wrong language I tried to uninstall it, and hoped that i could reinstall it from Adobe Application Manager in english edition. However, when i start Application manager now, it still says that Acrobat X Pro is installed, however it is not true. I have Creative Cloud.
How can i install Acrobat X Pro again?

Did you run the uninstaller in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers?  If so I would recommend the following steps which have allowed others to resolve these difficulties.
Remove all Creative Cloud applications using the uninstallers in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
    Run the CS Clean up tool - CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
    Enable your root user account
Reboot in Safe Boot and login under the Root user account
Install one of the Adobe Creative applications from https://creative.adobe.com/
    Install Acrobat
Launch the previously installed Creative application.  This allows Acrobat to become serialized.
    Launch Adobe Acrobat
Not all of these steps might be necessary, in particular safe boot and the root user account, but by completing all of these steps it gives you the greatest chance of resolving your current difficulties.
