check the 'ulimit' of the user (probably 'oracle') - it is probably cutting off the size. try downloading the file as 'root' OR increasing the ulimit size.

I'd like to check for malware with that message, Nico. (With modern versions of iTunes, if files really were missing, iTunes would be much more likely to do a repair install of itself when you wen't to launch it, rather than returning the old-fashioned files-are-missing message.
Download and install the free version of MalwareBytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hours on My Lenovo.)

My customers who use iOS cannot download the video files I send by Adobe Send "Safari cannot download this type of file" is the report they get. I have tried created a zip file of the clip but get the same result. Please help

This error seems to point at a problem not directly related to the encoding. The message might be misleading but I read "Safari cannot download this type of file" as relating to the file type - the end of the name (perhaps MIME type setup, but let's start with the file type).
But... some web searching finds others say that iOS cannot download files AT ALL because it has no filing system you can access. Clearly (?) you just want it to show the movie, but I don't know any more than that.
Perhaps someone else has worked in this area. Also worth trying suitable iOS forum.

I'm using yahoo email on firefox but cannot download or save doc file attachments

Emails that I have received on my yahoo account contain attachments, saved as word documents or powerpoint or pdf files. Today, when I tried to download these files, the daownloading software could not recognise the file format in any of the files (I tried with twenty different files), and therefore could not download or save the files. The pop up window simply states "Resolving...." and does not change at all.
Please assist me to download file attachments on emails that come through yahoo, when I use Firefox as my browser.

Just in case, try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hour on my Lenovo.)

Cannot download from safari any files.

Hope someone can help, I'm unable to download any files, get the spinning wheel then a plain dark grey screen, then it times out. I checked my internet plug ins and i don't have any third party plug ins. I've also trashed my downloads plist but no joy. Finally I have also tried changing the download location to desktop, then changing back to downloads, but still no luck. Has anyone else had the same trouble? I cannot even download firefox as an alternative because it won't even allow me to download this file. I'm running most up to date version of snow leopard and safari 4. Really stuck please help thanks.

Well, you went a bit overboard on removing things. You definitely need these for Safari to run properly:
JavaPluginCocoa.bundle
nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt
Quartz Composer.webplugin
QuickTime Plugin.plugin
The others are all optional, depending upon what other software you may have installed. One or a combination of them is probably the cause of the inability to download files in your user account, but unless you installed them in the new user account you created, it doesn't explain downloads not working in that account.
Try adding the Internet Plug-Ins back one at a time, starting Safari and testing for the problem each time, then quitting and adding another one and repeating the process until you're unable to download a file. That last item added back is one of the culprits, and if you still have more you haven't added back for testing, one or more of them could also be contributing factors.
You may have a version that is simply incompatible with Snow Leopard, so you should check the site for a compatible version and install that. If there is no compatible version, you'll have to do without it until there is one.

Cannot download dmg or zip files

I'm now at the end of my tether and really hope someone can help.
Whenever I click on a link for a zip or dmg download, the address comes up in the address bar but the download doesn't start automatically, as it does on my wife's Macbook. In other words, the little box which asks if you want to open the file or save it doesn't appear. In every instance of this I have to use a seperate download manager which is proving to be a pain.
Any ideas how I can remedy this? For other types of file, pdf's etc it works absolutely fine. This problem occurs in both Firefox and Safari and the preferences in both of these match my wife's. Therefore it must be a system error somewhere, but this hasn't worked for some time.

On my wife's Macbook, when she clicks on a link she gets the little box pop up to ask her what she wants to do with the file. I never get that, which has been a real pain in the backside when trying to download the new iTunes this week, which never appeared in my software updates.

Cannot download leica m9 dng files into lightroom

I started using LR (5) only recently (about 50 days ago). Have no problem downloading RAW files from my Nikon 600 but I am having difficulties downloading DNG files from my Leica M9 although I have done it before successfully when I started. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions?

After software update for Lexmark printer, cannot print document as a file is missing. My iMac runs with Snow Leopard.

I have a Lexmark 3500 - 4500 series printer connected to my iMac via USB (as my iMac won't do the printing wirelessly. My iMac runs with Mac OS X, Snow Leopard, Version 10.6.8.
A few days ago, there were several software updates that I have installed as there was mention that they were for Mac OS X Lion.
Today, I tried to print a document, and it failed. The error message was: "Missing component: /Library/Printers/Lexmark/Drivers/.Resources/3500-4500 Series Color 2.lut".
I have re-installed the software from Lexmark without success.
Has anyone had a similar issue who can advise me, please?

Have you tried installing the Lexmark software from the Apple site:
Lexmark Printer Drivers v2.4 for Mac OS X v10.6
You are running 10.6 which the above link is for, maybe Lion (10.7) doesn't need everything that 10.6 does. Try re-installing using the above link.

Lightroom 4 disk error - 'disk is blank' cannot download - unreliable internet, large file

I have raised this yesterday and Hal thought the Lightroom 4 disk might be blank & suggested that I download Lr4 from from the website. I can sort of accept a disk might be blank but think it unlikely as the disk arrived with all packaging and all seals intact - FedEx from USA.
I am unable to download the software from the internet as our connection is too unreliable (we are on a farm) & despite antennae on the roof etc the signal drops out so you can wind up paying for a lot of 'failed to complete' downloads. You still pay for the partial.
I have contacted Adobe and they were unable to help - sent me to Tech Support by phone is Aus. They are not available on the weekend.
I am wondering if there is any clever trick for getting a Mac OS 10.7.5 installed to read the disk? The drive does read other disks fine so I don't think it is the drive.

you should be able to use finder to check your cd's contents. you should have lr for mac and pc on that disk or two different disks on for the mac. make sure if you have two, you're using the mac cd.

Cannot download compton-git sources files

I tried to install compton-git from AUR.
makepkg -s successfully resolved and installed dependencies but at last it can not download sources.
I also tried to download manually in browser from the link, git://github.com/chjj/compton.git on AUR's compton.git page.
I can not download it too.

Why do you have to download the source manually? makepkg does this on its own. I've just tested it and everything went OK.

Dll file is missing on installing the app-v 5.0 sequenced application

HI All,
I have sequenced a application using AppV 5.0 Sequencer. During sequencing the application is fine, I gave the PVAD as C:\Program Files (x86).
After installation of the sequenced application, on launching the shorcut it throws error that
"The program cannot start because PBVM100.dll file is missing from your computer. Try re-installing the application".
I searched for that dll file, the weird thing is the dll file is present in the ProgramFiles(x86), but still i dont why the application was throwing such an error.
If I install the source it is fine, but if I install the sequenced application it throws error.
I even tried connection groups through SCCM 2012, it is still throwing the same error.
I am out of ideas. Can anyone help me on this issue.

Actuate 7 eSpreadsheet Designer 10.0.2 with Appv-5 Sp2. I published the package using the Powershell commands, but When I tested the app in this test machine the app never openned. The process eSpreadSheet.exe cosumed the 99% of the CPU and never
open the app. I performed a Devirtualization in another machine and it looks work properly, So I think it's a virtualization problem. Do you have any idea how to fix this?
Note: I created another sequence including all the DLLS detected in SystemX86 in the same directory where the exe file resides for this application C:\Program Files\Actuate7 as you suggested in the last entry but I'm still having the same problem.
