I had trouble playing certain songs I downloaded when I downloaded a complete album because iTunes repeatedly said that my computer was not authorized. So, I redownloaded all the tracks that wouldn't play for free but am unable to for the album only tracks. Is there a way to do this?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not redownloading. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Trying to re-download a album only song

I just purchased an album but noticed that it only played half of the song and skips to the next. I already deleted the songs and re-downloaded them for free. But three of the songs are album only songs and I cant seem to redownload it for three without paying the whole album again! Is there a way to fix this?

  • Album Only songs when using song credits

I received as a gift a 50 song credit to the iTunes store. I would like to be able to buy complete albums with this credit, including the "album only" songs. When I try to buy albums, it says that my song credits do not apply to album purchases, and when I then buy each song from an album individually, I can't buy the rest of the "album only" songs.
Is there a solution to this problem? If I buy 10 individual songs off an album, can I use "complete my album" to get the rest of the "album only" songs? It would not seem to make sense for this to not work. Especially since I have, in effect, spent more on 12 individual songs from an album than I would have on the $10 cost of the entire album on the first place. It seems like I should therefore be entitled to the complete album.

Sorry but no, there's no solution when there are "album only" tracks other than to pay cash. Song credits can indeed only be used for individual tracks; they cannot be applied to album purchases.

  • "Album Only" songs included?

I don't regularly buy entire albums, so I'm double checking before I purchase an album containing "Album Only" songs. These are included when I buy the entire album on iTunes, right?
Making sure "Album Only" doesn't mean iTunes doesn't have rights to sell them and they're only available on the album in a store.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

'Album only' songs are included. It just means you can't buy them separate.
That usually occurs with songs that have a long play time.
    Hope this helps.

  • Too many "Album Only" songs

In my view, one of the greatest strengths of iTunes is not having to purchase an entire album to get the particular songs one enjoys. This strength is undermined by the "album only" choices that appear all too frequently.
I've found several album only songs that I would like to purchase and I have not purchased one of the albums. I'm guessing I'm not alone in this behavior. Drop the "album only" idea and you'll certainly make more money from me. Keeping it is only driving me to look elsewhere for the songs.

This is not controlled by Apple. The most frequent reasons for "album only" songs are the copyright holders are different for this song than the rest of the album & do not want the song sold as an individual track. The copyright holder for all of a specific album, for whatever reason, may have required that a specific track or tracks be sold as "album only". Apple has to abide by what the copyright holders want when it comes to distributing content.

  • Song purchasing issue: Album only songs

Hi, hopefully somebody can shed some light on this problem i'm having. I have a CD of 'Hit The Lights - This is a stick up... don't make it murder' and it doesn't include track 14 'Stick Up' which is on the itunes store. I want to purchase this song but i can't because it is an 'album only' song. Does this mean that if i want this song, i have to by the whole album even though i already have the CD? Because that is kind of annoying!
Much appreciated if anybody can help me, thanks.

Yes, you would have to buy the whole album. And despite what the other poster said, it isn't an enticement to past customers. And it isn't something controlled by Apple. These types of decisions are made by the record companies.
They may not want a popular, or extra long song to be sold for only $0.99. They try to entice the buyer to purchase the whole album (if it was a CD, you'd have to buy the whole thing). However, in the case of popular songs, you might see it go on sale by itself once after it is no longer a top song. If it's a long song (something you see in the classical music a lot), it may never be sold except as part of an album only track.

  • ITunes 7 not downloading album only material

I just purchased an album, and the digital booklet and one of the songs--the "album only" items--hung in the download. I clicked on the "Downloads" link, and the window said that it had downloaded the full MB but it said it was still "processsing."
After this had gone on several minutes, I decided to close iTunes. I got a dialog box that basically said I would be prompted to continue downloading when I reopened iTunes. However, when I reopened iTunes, no such thing happened. Now I have no way to retrieve this material. Help!!

Your welcome, just remeber if a download doesn't finish for whatever reason ( PC crashed, rebooted, lost electic to your house, Internet connection went down, Dog chewed the DSL line in half ect ect ect) just goto store>Check for purchases to start it up again.
Alot of people had this issue this summer where they was online downloading and those "Supraise" thunderstorms popped up and knocked out power for a min or 2

  • Cannot Download Album Artwork for Albums I Know Exist on iTunes.

    Hi.
Recently I decided to clear all of my album artwork. I selected all of my albums and right clicked on an album, selected "get info," checked the box next to "artwork," and clicked "ok."
With all of the albums already selected I successfully downloaded all of the art except for 20 albums.
For some reason I cannot download the album artwork for twenty albums I know are available on iTunes.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    -Thanks

when you right mouse click on a song do you not see this?

  • Cannot download iTunes Match songs - Getting error (8364)

My iTunes completed the Match process.
Generally, I have two kinds of songs with a cloud icon:
Songs that I had previously purchased, but were currently not in my library in any form. (No MP3 or AAC version.)
If I click on the cloud icon, these songs download just fine.
Songs that I had previously purchased, but were in my library in another form. (Usually as an MP3 - I had converted it to MP3 or ripped it from somewhere.)
The MP3 version will show as "Matched" and I will have an iCloud version right below it that shows with a iCloud icon and it has a status of "Purchased". But when I click on the iCloud, I get "There was a problem downloading [Whatever the song title is] An unknown error occured (8364). Please check that the network connection is active and try again."
If I try to click the same iCloud icon again, I get "There was a problem downloading [Whatever the song title is]. An unknown error occured (-50). Please check that the network connection is active and try again."
I can immediately go an download a song that fits case 1 above and it works fine.
I tried deleting the MP3 versions from my library first, and that didn't do anything. I get the same error.
iTunes Match isn't going to be all that useful if all my iCloud music isn't going to be able to be downloaded.
I also tried turning iTunes Match off and on again, and I tried restarting the computer too.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I'm encountering the same problem, and related issues.  One Allan Parsons song I purchased ("Damned if I Do" from the Eve album) was listed twice after Match completed, with two different lengths and two albums listed.  Prior to running iTunes Match I only had one copy of it, so something is very broken in Apple land.

  • What's up with "album-only" songs in the iStore???

Just out of curiosity and general frustration--whats the reason behind some songs only being available in the iTunes store when you buy the whole album? Is it some kind of copyright thing?

I've noticed that a lot of tracks over about 7 minutes show up as 'album only' - other than that I guess it is indeed some sort of copyright/label restriction.
Shame, as in the early days of online music I managed to get the whole of Tubular Bells from a Microsoft-based store for 99p per 'side' - I imagine it's this issue they're trying to address.
