Cannot download apps? Upgraded iPod and now it's not upgraded enough?

So last night I went and updated my iPod. I haven't updated it in forever so I thought that it would do me good to update it. After updating it, I relized my apps and music were gone, like it had said being that I was updating to iOS. Now, I cannot download apps AT ALL. It updated my iPod to 4.3.1 and even apps that should be 4.3 to download tell me I do not have the right update. I can't update the iPod any further because it tells me that there are no updates! Now I have to take time to get ALL of the music back, which I was okay with AT FIRST, and now also I can't download ANY apps!
I went onto the support section of the apple website and didn't find ANYTHING. Nothing answered my question, and when it got to the point where I found that I could chat with a support person online, it then informed me that I'd have to pay for it. What is this?
This is ******* ME OFF right now. I don't have the money to just TALK with someone for help with an iPod. I can't find an answer and need HELP.

If you are using the ipod as designed and doing just the very bascis, then all of your apps and music would be on your computer and you would simply sync them back to the ipod.
If you have failed to do this, then it is entirely your fault that you are in this situation.
Which ipod touch do you have?
Identifying iPod models - Support - Apple
1st gen can go to 3.1.3
2nd - 4.2.1
3rd - 5.1.1
4th and 5th - the latest.
What version of itunes?

I did the latest download for my iPad and now I can not download anything from the App Store or iTunes. Please advice how I can fix this problem?

I downloaded the last update on my iPad and now I can not download from the apple store or iTunes. I just sits there and continues to act like it will but nothing happens. And then it times out and goes back to home screen. Have a 32 so have have plenty of room.
What would you advice I do? I purchased this iPad in dec 2013.

Double tap your home button to bring up the most recently used apps.
You'll see the app icon below and a screen shot of the app page above.
With your finger swipe the app page above the app icon upwards to fully close the apps (you should do this regularly).
Now, reboot your iPad. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. You won't lose any data or settings.
When your iPad comes back up, see if you can download again.

The iOS 5.0.1 won't download for my ipod and now i can't open any of my apps. HELLPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to download the new iOS 5.0.1 for my ipod touch and it keeps telling me that i need to check my internet settings even though my internet is fine. And now I can't use any of my apps they just flicker and go back to the home screen..

- For the download, disable the computer's security software during the download and update.
- For the other problem:
--- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
--- Download/install a new app.
--- iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store

HT1430 My kid forgot the password on her IPOD and now it will not do anything the Msg says to connect to ITUNES

The IPOD was purchased from Amazon, My kid put a security code on it and forgot what it was and kept trying different combos. Now it is Locked!
Msg comes up "IPOD is DISABLED" conect to Itunes
Ready to throw this thing out the window!

Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

I downloaded 3.6.6 and now Firefox will not proceed to page 2 of searches, or allow subsequent searches without reloading the program; you get one shot and that's it.

I upgraded to 3.6.6. After that when I do a search, the results come up, but when I try to go to the second page of the results, it says "done" in the status bar and goes nowhere; also, I cannot refine the search by putting in subsequent search terms in the search bar, as that results in the same "done" message at the bottom. The "workaround" is to quit and start all over again with a new try, in which I get one shot on that one. Very frustrating.

I downloaded Firefox 4.0 and now it's not working

Two days ago, I downloaded Firefox 4.0 like the browser prompted me to. Right after the update, I was unable to connect the internet. The page displays the message, " Firefox uses a proxy server that is refusing connections". I don't have a Mac, just Windows. I called my internet provider and we tried uninstalling 4.0 and reinstalling the older version - nothing. We tried installing internet explorer - nothing. I tried unplugging my router and plugging it back in - nothing. I really think this is a problem with Firefox because everything was fine until I installed 4.0. Now I really wish I hadn't.

You're trying to go through a proxy which isn't working. Assuming you don't normally use a proxy to connect to the internet, do this:
Tools, options, advanced, connection settings, set no proxy.
Causes for this may include anything which monitors or forwards newtork traffic on your computer (tools like fiddler2 or tor). It may also be that you are on a network which requires a proxy to access the intenet (some corporate and university networks do this).

I have experienced the same problem, I updated the software then updated my iPhone, after a few problems it eventually updated, when I tried to connect my iPad it would not recognise it, it have followed all the online help ie reboot, start n stop the software, reinstalled it but still no joy!! It only seems to recognise devices that have been updated. I'm puzzled!!

Had to reset iPod. Now it will not allow me to get my WIFI

I had to restore my iPod and now it will not let allow my WIFI to update the iPod. I do not know if it is because of other WIFI systems in my area. Someone uses NETGEAR, another uses ATT904. When they are in use I cannot use my iPod. I have called my cable company that I bundle with they can't seem to help me and I have called Apple and they have not answers for me. I do not know what to do. Any know what I am talking about?

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1
Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Thanks to Dave Sawyer for posting information about re-downloading an app which has been deleted. I deleted the app from iTunes. Then, when I synched, iTunes asked me if I wanted the items on my ipod touch copied back into iTunes. I said yes and then synched.
Readdledocs is now working again. It is no longer frozen. However, I have learned my lesson. I will download only pdf's from now on. I don't think it works so well with epub files. The text reflow feature of Readdledocs is exactly what I need to use for my work documents on my ipod touch.
