Cannot download Creative Writing A Masterclass ebook to iPad, Cannot download Creative Writing A Masterclass ebookmto iPad

Hi, I'ventried to download the ebook for the course Creative Writing: A Masterclass from iTunes U, but in vain. Have managed the podcasts, but not the book. Anyone know why?

The funny part is they are all using an iPad and I'm pretty sure they did not change the browser. But I will look into this and ask them. Could it be a code problem on the website?
The code I use looks like: Click <a href="http://www.mywebsite.nl/downloads/promo.epub"> here</a> to download ...

Been trying to download ebooks on ipad. Keep getting message "ibooks is required." deleted ibooks and reinstalled, but still same problem. Even erased my ipad, still no luck. Can someone suggest a solution. Extremely frustrating. Wake up apple..
    Thanks in advance.

Try simply restarting your device. Also, try signing out of iTunes and sign back in. If that doesn't work then go into the iBooks app and get books from there. You can tap Store in the upper left hand corner to take you to the ibooks store.

Adobe has a DPS add-on for InDesign (http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-publishing-suite-single.html) and it handles all the page transitions as well as swapping between portait and landscape. I think the way most people work is the pages are built in inDesign and regions of animation from EA are added second. But if every page had full screen animation, I suppose you may want to build your pages in Edge first.

  • How to use textboxes in eBooks for iPad?

I am able to use textbox with an iFrame in eBook for iPad, however when i touch the textbox in horizontal orientation of iPad, the textbox comes in center of the screen (disturbing the complete layout). How can fix this problem or is there any other way to get textboxes in eBook on iPad?

Hello Rudegar. Thanks for quick reply. Actually, my eBook is not a fixed layout book. Instead, I a trying to create free flow ebook with textboxes.
I am able to get textboxes with default keyboard functionality of iPad through iFrames. When I touch the textboxes keeping the iPad in protrait(vertical) position, the default keyboard of iPad pops up without disturbing the eBook layout. However, when I do the same in landsape(horizontal) position, the complete layout gets disturbed i.e. I get a sort of three page layout with textboxes at the bottom getting hidden behind the keyboard.

I use Goodreader. It is a much superior app to iBooks with a better file management system a the ability to rename files, add annotations etc. Go to the App store and enter Goodreader to read all about it. It only costs a few pounds sterling.

Hi Frances. To be able to rule out your adblock addon from being the problem on that site do this: go into 'add-ons' in the firefox menu, into the extension tab (just like before) find the adblock addon and click on the 'disable' button. NOW GO TO YOUR GAME SITE AGAIN & SEE IF ITS STILL NOT WORKING FOR YOU OR IF ITs (sorry, not yelling at you. That key placement sucks) see if its working like it did before adding adblock. If its working good without it then its that particular add0n causing the puzzle problem. This is okay, you just need to follow my instructions and get a different adblock addon from the same place you got the first. You may have to install a few (one at a rime) til you find one that doesn't block your puzzle from working. If you notice while looking for add-ons the list will contain only ones that go with your version of firefox & OpSystem. Occasionally you may see one grayed out, that means not available to your version as well. Try bthat while I finish up with my stuff. And let me know whats happening. Good Luck.

  • Download ebook to Ipad

It has been impossible for me , so far, even though I followed all the requirements .

Normally the library providing such a service will tell you what devices will work and what software you may need to add in order to read the book.  Ask them.
BlueFire Reader is often required, but only the library can tell you.

  • Can't open eBook on iPad: get E_ADEPT_INTERNAL error.

I am trying to download to my iPad an Axis360 book i borrowed from my library. I have been able to download it to my Windows 8 PC, but i'm having trouble getting on the iPad. I have Axis 360 reader installed on my iPad. If i log in to the library, i can see the book i want to download. If i click download, i get a screen asking for my Adobe ID. I didn't remember having one, so i created one.
When i then use that to download the eBook, i get this message "The item was originally downloaded with a different user account or Adobe ID. To continue, please add that account.".
If i try adding an axisreader id, & use my library card # & PIN, i get this messge "E_ADEPT_INTERNAL. http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/SignInDirect null". How can i get the book?
I tried Adobe Tech Support & they were useless - they told me to try the Forums, so here I am...
P.S. Tnis does not seem like its an Adobe Reader question, but this is where Adobe tech support sent me.

It seems to be hit or miss if this works or not, but try opening Pages on the iPad, then before you select a document, on the very first screen, hit the "Edit" button, then select your document. Then click the arrow coming out of the box in the upper left corner &amp; email the document to yourself. Try opening the email on a computer, selecting the file and adding the pages file type (.pages) to the end of the name. Then try reopening it in Pages.
I don't know if this is what happened in your case, but it seems like sometimes iWork documents lose that file type indicator &amp; then Pages (numbers/ Keynote) won't open them.

  • Making ebooks for iPad?

Not sure where to post this. As there is no appropriate category, I guess my question is answered. It is: Has Apple produced an iWeb-like application (for Mac—i.e., simple but reasonably sophisticated) that can put together ebooks for the iPad?
    Did I miss it?

I think it is most unlikely that searchability played any role in the decision to use ePub rather than PDF in iBooks, but if you can find a reference to the contrary someplace I would welcome seeing it.
One fans the flames, the other douses the flames.
In technical terms, for PDF reflowing / reformatting / repurposing it is necessary that structure information for the parts of the page and semantic information for the simple CMAP shaping and the supplementary glyph substitution shaping be preserved.
Advertising PDF as the Internet standard, and advertising PDF archiving from Quartz at the introduction of Mac OS X, Apple at the same time opted not to implement tagged PDF at the introduction of Mac OS X.
John Zimmerer, Color and Imaging Product Manager, launched a PDF User Feedback in 2003. This process was patterned on the ICC User Feedback in 2001 (relayed / reposted to the ColorSync Users List at the time).
The first decision on what to implement in the document model for Mac OS X, and the following decision to on what to implement in the composition model for Mac OS X, compounds the problems of chaotification caused by broken font product published by Adobe and Linotype.
There is a complaint in the Copenhagen business press (Politiken). The complaint concerns the number of press pieces on the iPad (120) compared to competing products (3). Considering that the product cannot be purchased, the complaint is in fact correct.
Adobe is good at spin, too. Jonathan Seybold told the New York Times in 1991 that he would publish in Warnock's viewable PostScript product two years before it was released for review. Seybold saw it as the mission of Seybold Publications to promote the Adobe imaging model.
When I received the review CD for Acrobat Search in September 1994, there was no word of Apple's Portable Digital Document model whereas other page turners were openly demolished on the review CD. At Seybold SF in September 1994, Spindler and Warnock announced the shift from Print, then Distribute to Distribute, then Print alongside Adobe support for Apple QuickTime in the Adobe PDF document model and support for Apple OpenDoc in the Adobe application model, reported by Chief Editor Kurt Wolf in Deutsche Drucker. Perhaps paradoxically, one of the reasons for the ISO 15930 PDF/X family of standard rendering specifications is that Apple QuickTime does not belong in a printing master .

  • OK, *now* how do we share ebooks between iPads?

With the release of the iBooks app for mavericks Apple changed many things under the hood. No longer are ebooks stored in the clear in the easy to find iTunes Media/Books folder, enabling relatively simple sharing of the library with family members. Now the eBooks are tucked away in the arcane depths of the ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks/Books folder with nifty names like 2C0CED6C018E078C7E1A1FFA11470D7.epub. Never mind that iBooks doesn't like syncing side-loaded ebooks well with my own iPad unless I sync all books in settings (which has to be reselected every time I buy a book on the iBookstore), how am I supposed to share these files with family members now? Before I go and create symlinks for these extremely nested folders out to the Shared folder as I've done with the iTunes library (plus a shared ibooks pref file with open permissions), does anybody know of a tutorial on the subject?  I mean, maybe Apple has made this easy some how and I missed it. I suspect not. iBooks for Mac seems like it was coded by Redmond with the interests of the publishers put over the consumers. But maybe I'm wrong.

Unfortunately, that isn't the solution I was looking for. My users are all on the same computer so airdrop wouldn't work. Also, I have dozens of books, and I was trying to find a more automated method of sharing. I don't want to have duplicates of all those books on every user on the same Mac.
I simply cannot believe Apple made the decision to sequester books in this way. It's so counter to what they did with music and even movies. It's also counter to what Steve Jobs wrote about when he railed against DRM. ::shrug::

While I was beginning with creating an eBook with iBookAuthor, I didn't know that the target group iPhone user is missed.
I want to create and publish an eBook, which is intended for iPad, Mac and iPhone users.

Of course iTunes Producer is supposed to accept .epub files.  If yours are not working, I suggest you try to contact Apple via the means indicated at the bottom of the FAQ
