Cannot download items from Microsoft (i.e. holiday cards) - says I'm not "connected"

I am trying to download templates from Word for greeting cards. I get a message saying I should make sure I'm connected to the internet - which I am. I also tried to download a game (Klondike Solitaire from Free Solitaire.com and the headings come up and the ads come up, but the card game doesn't and it always did with IE.

Hi,
You may have to look into the MS Office connection settings. Posting in a MS Office forum would be helpful regarding the settings.
You may have to download the Solitaire game and install it to play the game. The site http://solitaire.com/ says "In the past, we were part of Internet Explorer. We're now a stand-alone program, which allows us to work on Windows-based computers that use browsers other than Internet Explorer and on new operating systems, such as Vista. And our new version gives much faster connection speeds to opponents!"

Where do you live? I live in Abu Dhabi, in the UAE. I’m wondering if this problem is related to the internet service provider here – Etisalat is its name. I tried one proxy, but it doesn't work.

    Hi,
Can you access that URL when you paste it into your browser? You don't need to configure system global settings unless you want to go to PI's navigator automatically - you can always copy & paste the link after opening the wsnavigator in PI yourself as well. If you can access the link, kindly check your network & proxy setup.

  • HT3204 My iTunes cannot find my wireless network and I get erros saying I am not connected to a network.  What is the best way to resove this issue?

Getting error message:  iTunes couldnot connect to the iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (0x80092013)  Make sure your network connection is active and try again.  Obviously my network is active, or I would not be able use my internet connection to enter this community.  I have a Telus TwoWire Wireless modem.  I used the iTunes for Windows:  Network Connectivity Tests and found that it was finding my adaptors, but could not connect to my Wireless network.  can someone provide a method for iTunes to recognize my wireless network.  I can find lots of info on connecting to a WiFi iDevice, but nothing so far about setting up iTunes with my wireless info.  iTunes does not have seek network function in the settings, or at least I cannot find one.
    Thank you.

  • I cannot "download all" from the cloud ... it says that itunes has encountered an error and needs to shut down. I can download one song at a time. It is not being caused by any one song.

I have the latest version of iTunes. When I am in the iTunes store and I click on purchased it will show me a list of all my purchased songs. Some of the older songs are already in my iTunes account. There is a cloud symbol by any songs that have not been download to my account. It always fails if I try to do a "download all" (at the bottom of the page) but I seem to be able to download one song at a time. These are songs that were purchased on my iPhone but I wanted to put them in my iTunes account so that I could put them on my iPod. The problem does not appear to be associated to any one song.

I did think about that and if I have to I will do that, however there are about 50 songs. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times and I am sure that I have the latest version. It fails right away but I can click on the cloud download icon and download the song that it failed on ... therefore it is not that song "or any one song" causing the issue. Any ideas?

    Hi Beatiful people
currently using i phone 4 with ios 4.1, but want to upgrade to 4.3 or higher as i can not but new App's because of this old version, but the thing is i do not have the software upgrade feature on my i phone so i can upgrade.
    looking forward to your answers
    greetings

See my second link above - you need to plug into iTunes, run a backup first (so you have the security of a full backup in place), then run an update.
If you have never backed this up before, you should also make sure your contacts are backed up in your computers contact software (iTunes does NOT backup contacts).  Any pictures not in your camera roll are also not backed up.
see the iTunes backup doc - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946

  • HT4059 my iPad mini cannot download books from iTunes - help

my iPad mini cannot download books from iTunes - help

    Hi, debikay45.
Test to see if you can download a free application from the App Store.  If this was successful, test downloading the book again.  Try closing all open applications and power cycling the device, test the results.  Make sure you have an active Internet connection.  If these results were unsuccessful, see the steps in the article below that refer to iOS.
Isolate the issue: (Mac OS X, Windows, iOS)
Make sure the issue is with the iTunes Store only. (You need an Internet connection to access the iTunes Store).Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for the iTunes Store. This also tests if the main ports 80 and 443 are accessible. If the website works but the iTunes Store does not, it is most likely a firewall blocking the iTunes software or servers. If this is the case, follow the steps in the "Blocked by software firewall" section below.
Test using another device. If possible, another device, ideally on a different network, would help troubleshooting any iTunes Store issues most efficiently. If another device on another network has issues, the iTunes Store may be undergoing maintenance, and will be available soon.
    Test using another network.
Connect your computer or device to another network and testing helps determine the next step. This is also helpful if multiple devices are affected.
If your device can connect to Wi-Fi and a cellular network, larger downloads may not be possible over the cellular network.
If the issue disappears while connected to another network, you may need to work with your support options to open access to:
    itunes.apple.com
    ax.itunes.apple.com
    ax.init.itunes.apple.com
    albert.apple.com
    gs.apple.com
    ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
    mzstatic.com
Note: iTunes may use the fully qualified version of these addresses for additional security.
iTunes uses well known ports and these ports may need to be opened for iTunes: 80, 443, 3689, 5297, 5298, 5353, 8000-8999, and 42000-42999.
It is critical that your date, time, and time zone be correct:Windows:
Click Start and then click Control Panel.
Click "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options" and then click Date and Time.
Click the Date & Time tab.
Make sure that the date and time settings are configured to use the current date and time and then click OK.
    Mac OS X:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
In System Preferences, click Date & Time.
Enable the option to "Set date and time automatically" if it is not.
Click the Time Zone tab and adjust the time zone to match your current location.
    iOS:
From the home screen, tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
If the option exists, turn off Set Automatically.
Verify the time zone and time (in the status bar) are correct for where you are currently.
If not, adjust the incorrect setting accordingly.
If everything was correct and the option exists, turn on Set Automatically.
Remove any restrictions that may be causing the issue:
    Windows:
It is recommended you use iTunes from an administrator account.
Refer to the Help documentation from Microsoft, contact your IT department, or visitsupport.microsoft.com for more information.
You can also check using iTunes Diagnostics if you are recognized as an administrator by iTunes.
    Mac OS X:
It is recommended you use iTunes from an administrator account. To become an administrator account, from the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
    In System Preferences, click Accounts.
You may need to unlock the lock in the bottom-left corner of the window to make changes. If you can unlock the lock, you are already an admin user.
Under the account you are using, it may say "Standard." Enable the option to "Allow user to administer this computer" to make the user an admin account user.
From the Apple () menu, choose Log Out.
Log back in and return to using iTunes. Test to see if the issue is resolved.
iOS: Restrictions can limit your ability to purchase some content. Check restrictions via Settings> General > Restrictions if you're unsure about those settings.
After isolating the issue to iTunes by following the above steps:
If the issue still occurs and iTunes displays an alert message with a specific code, please see the section below titled "Specific Conditions and Alert Messages" for additional troubleshooting steps.
If the issue is still not resolved and there is no specific code or alert message, you can visit the iTunes Store Discussion Board to try to find additional information for help resolving your issue:
You can also contact AppleCare to discuss your support options. Depending on your product’s coverage status, you may need to pay for support.
    iTunes Store Discussion Board (Mac)
    iTunes Store Discussion Board (Windows)
New routers or a new Internet Service Provider (ISP) may limit your ability to connect to iTunes Store. Let your router manufacturer or your ISP know about the ports and servers in this article and confirm that they are compatible.

  • TS3274 Cannot download apps from the apps store. iOS 7.0.4.

I recently upgraded to version iOS 7.0.4. For my ipad 4. Now I cannot download apps from the apps store. Any suggestions?

The ipad is brand new. It downloaded the apps fine until I updated to the ios 7.0.4. two days ago. When I choose an app from the app store, I can select it and it appears to begin to download (it spins in circles). It does not prompt me for my Apple password. However, it generates a blank, undownloaded app on the ipad. It says waiting underneath the app. I hope that explains it better.
I also reset the ipad and it prompted me to either cancel or purchase several items. I have small children and it appears they were trying to buy upgrades and boosts for games alreadly on the ipad. I have tried to download another game and this time it has prompt me for my password. The app has come onto the screen and it is stuck in the waiting phase of the download.

  • I cannot download photos from my digital camera to Iphoto (version '09). I have been able to successfully do this up to 4 days ago but not yesterday. My camera/device is recognized in the Source List but photos won't download for me to import to library.

I cannot download photos from my digital camera (via a cable) to Iphoto (version '09). I have been able to do this successfully up til 4 days ago but not yesterday (Dec. 25th). My camera/device is recognized in the Source List, but when it tries to download the photos, all I get are the words "Loading Photos" in the area where the thumbnail pictures usually display. The little "gear" symbol next to the words but it just goes round and round. Nothing ever downloads, and instead of showing me how many pictures there are to import it just says "No photos". So therefore I cannot import the photos to my library since they won't even download.
I was getting an error message a few days ago that my Iphoto library was getting full, so I emptied my trash in both Iphoto and on my computer. I had this same problem back in October and emptying the trash and getting rid of some photos did help (can I really be using that much storage space for the pictures?). But it didn't help this time.
Any suggestions as to what to do to solve the problem? I would try taking the SD card out and inserting that into the slot on the computer to see if I could load pictures that way; but the last time I did that, they wouldn't load. Not sure if I lost pics from the disc or not.
    Thank you,
    Novice50

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

    Hi Poonam26c,
If you do not have a local copy of a song which you have purchased (i.e. it is available via iTunes in the Cloud), you may need to redownload it before you can transfer it to your device. You may find the following article helpful:
