Cannot download or run firefox

Firefox updated to 6.02, but pages would not load. Tried to revert to old version. Would not open. Tried to update to newest version. Will not complete download. Says, "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous uninstall of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" It restarts, but no window appears, just normal desktop. I go to Mozilla to try to download again and the same question happens again. Tried manual restart. No good. I can't load or run any version!!!

  • Unable to download and run firefox

I have decided to switch from explorer to firefox, but I cannot download or run. I have a new computer that runs windows 7.

Did as instructed. first window came up with following: Smart screen filter-windows explorer- (instructions) "smart screen has little or no information about this unsigned program. running this program might harm your computer."
Choices: 1. don't run this program
    2. delete program
    3. run anyway
I chose 3. run anyway - result : message "file corupt"
    Choices: (one only) OK
Is there anyway to get around your windows explorer competitor? Leaves me with feeling that firefox may not be as good as explorer.

  • Adobe Flash cannot download with Mozilla Firefox 35 and Firefox 35.0.1

Adobe Flash cannot be downloaded with Mozilla Firefox 35 and Firefox 35.0.1.
I cannot seems to download any Adobe Flash on Windows 10 Technical Preview Enterprise version 9926!
I already feedback the matter to Firefox and still have no valid reply from Mozilla.
Even I disable the Firefox blocking content. It still cannot get thru to Adobe Flash to download.

    Hello ZigZag,
I did have disable the blocking content. Still it doesn't work. This is a problem that I face right now.
I have submitted this problem to Mozilla Firefox team.
I did not have any issues with Windows 8.1 with the same browser version Firefox 35.
It having issues on Windows 10 build 9926.
So it is either Windows 10 is having issues or Firefox or Adobe itself.
    Either one of it.
I submitted the issues to both Firefox and Adobe for this matter. Right until now I have no reply from them.
For your info, this laptop cannot download any Windows Build updates...
I have to download the new build ISO manually. I wonder why I cannot get the new release of prebuild updates from Microsoft. Makes me wonder all the time. Why I cannot do any updates!
Formatted the hard disk and do a clean install of Windows 10 beta build 9926.

  • At times I cannot download files from Firefox, but I can in IE

    Hello,
My problem is twofold. Firstly at least once in three, I cannot download my attachments from gmail. What happens is the download window flashes up for a half second. Then it disappears. The file is NOT downloaded in the appropriate folder (or anywhere else), I have checked that.
Secondly, I am trying to listen to a radio station from the website below, but anytime I click on the Listen link, nothing happens except for the download window flashing for a half second. Then it disappears. I can only assume it is a .pls file as most internet radios have a file with such an extension for their playlist.
Both errors have been occuring since the update of 3.6.10.
    Thanks for any insight.

The eLocity A7 tablet you have should technically work with the mobile Firefox.
It has Android 2.2 and most importantly a ARMv7 type of cpu, a NVIDIA Tegra II T20 and it has 512MB RAM.
mbrubeck who works on mobile Firefox has been recommending to try the Firefox 9 Beta's because it includes a new interface designed especially for Android tablets.

  • I'm trying to download and run Firefox but keep getting an "error creating directory" message. C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\res\dtd What do I need to do to fix this?

It shows under the message, the following:
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\res\dtd
What do I need to do to fix this?

    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • I have a mac g5 tower running OS 5.8. but cannot download the latest firefox. What do I need? thanks

If i need to install other items does anyone know what they are? It would be so helpful if firefox would list items that need to be installed to enable use of newer format.

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor (which you do NOT have; yours is a PPC Mac) '''''<u>and</u>''''' OSX 10.5 or higher
    *System Requirements: [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 4] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/5.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 5] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/6.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 6] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/7.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 7] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/8.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 8]
'''''The good news''''' is that Firefox 3.6.24 still supports OSX 10.4 and Macs with the PPC Mac architecture. '''''The bad news''''' is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.
    *System requirements: [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/3.6/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 3.6.x]

You can try the third-party product '''''TenFourFox''''' that supports PPC Macs. Firefox 8 version of '''''TenFourFox''''' is available. The product is based on Firefox released versions. All support is provided by the developer, not by this site:

  • I cannot download pdfs from FireFox on a Mac

Up until just a few days ago I could download pdfs from websites through Firefox. As far as I know I did not upgrade or change anything. I followed all of the tutorials, the Troubleshooting Information tips, deleted profile.ind files, added the PDF viewer 0.6.39 and that does not work.
    I am on a Mac, OS 10.6.8
    Firefox 17

You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) and use the external Adobe Reader application or Preview application instead.
*Firefox > Preferences > Applications > Adobe PDF document : Use Adobe Reader
PDF files may also be found under another entry like Portable document.

  • Just downloaded & am running Firefox 4. I have no plus sign to open new tab? Fix?

No button as in older versions to open a new tab. Was convenient & help shows should be to the right of last tab, but isn't.

Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    * If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
    * If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

  • I am running Windows 7 and I cannnot download files from Firefox

I just got a new PC (Dell Precision M6500) with Windows 7 Ultimate and I have transferred my profile setting over from my old laptop running Windows XP Professional and now I cannot download files in Firefox. How can I fix this?

    Just checking:
    # Do you try to downgrade, because you had problems upgrading to the latest version? If so, have you tried the suggestions at [[Installing a previous version of Firefox]]?
    # What is the actual message, when installing Firefox 3.6? Does it really mention that you need install version 10? Note that the latest version is 9.0.1.
    # Did you download the installer from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html ?

  • Installed Microsoft updates yesterday & today I click on Firefox and it does not load. If I go to download a new Firefox, it tells me to close existing Firefox before the download. I can't see Firefox open anywhere.

Firefox will not load and I cannot download a new Firefox because it says I have to close the existing one. I cannot find the existing one open anywhere. Also, when I went to download I got a warning that the new Firefox might damage my computer.

The procedures in the [[Firefox will not start]] article may help, in particular it sounds like this error [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]

  • Cannot download Acrobat Reader 9 to my new ASUS computer with Windows 7

I replaced my old "slave" XP system computer with a new ASUS Windows 7 computer. I connect the slave computer (Windows 7 OS) wirelessly through a Linksys router.with my "home" computer (XP OS) and the internet. I get the following error message when I try to install Adobe Reader: "error 1606: could not access network location %APPDATA%\. I cannot download through either Firefox or through Windows Explorer.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== When I changed from my old XP OS "slave" computer with a new ASUS with Windows 7 OS. I also had to buy a new Linksys wireless adaptor.

No. As a matter of fact, I tried to install it using Internet Explorer 64 bit. It also would not install Acrobat 9.3My PC is an ASUS E5400, Pentium Dual-core, 2.7 GHz each, with 6.oo GB RAM and 64 bit OS.
I spent a couple of hours on-line with a Linksys troubleshooter to see if the problem was with my Linksys router or adaptor. Neither of them appear to be the problem.
I always get this error message: "error 1606 - could not access network location, %APPDATA%\"
    Any suggestions?

    Hey Cadburycircle,
Unfortunately there is no true version of Firefox for IOS devices. They do have a very slick app called Firefox Home that is available in the iTunes store. It works similar to Firefox Sync and allows you to see all the open tabs and bookmarks on your computer. You should take a look at [[What is Firefox Home]] for more information.
    Hopefully this helps!
