Cannot Download PDF on Mac

I have an iMac, Mac OS 10.6.8. I have installed Safari 5.1.10, Adobe Reader 10.0.10, Adobe Acrobat 9.5.1 and Adobe Acrobat 11.0.07 (Trial Version). When I try to download a PDF file from the internet using Safari, I get the following error message. Does anyone know how to fix it?

For sure Apple Preview is part of the Mac OS. The key information is that I have been downloading fillable PDFs from the Canadian government website for years and years. My workhorse Adobe program has been Adobe Acrobat. I started with Acrobat 6 and now have Acrobat 9. I think Adobe is trying to force me to upgrade to Acrobat XI which I don’t need and don’t want to spend money on. I do have Adobe Reader 11.0.10. I should be able to down load fillable PDFs without an Adobe error message saying I can’t. I’m looking for someone who understands Adobe and Mac OS well enough to fix the problem. Can you help? sorry for hijacking but I have a related question to do with certificates.
I had to set up virtual domains manually instead of through the GUI and the server ssl site is now locked to a certificate that is about to expire and no longer needed, I can't change the certificate in the web gui because it was created manually, I can't delete the certificate because it is assigned to the server ssl website and I can't manually edit the conf files to point to a different certificate becasue it breaks it, any ideas?

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 and downloaded
Adobe reader 9.3.3, and the programme wil not allow the downloading of PDF files. tyhe error message reads your current programme cannot download PDF files you need reader 8 or 9 and I have reader 9.3.3 why is this happening and how can I stop it.

I still have the same problem I had a month ago I cannot download pdf file from internet sites screen just goes black
I have recently upgraded software to lion I have the latest adobe software installed still no joy.
Was never a problem in the past on my IMac

In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
If a Finder window opens with that item selected, delete it, then quit and relaunch Safari. Otherwise post again.

Cannot download .pdf files and word docs from KM using Web Dynpro

Dear Portal Gurus,
Using KM API, I am trying to download, documents from KM in my Web Dynpro Application. But .pdf files and word docs with screenshots are not getting retrieved from KM. Word docs opens with no content and Adobe opens with an error saying "Either it is a damaged file or It is not a supported file".
I am using the following KM service to download the content.

Which web browser are you using to view the PDF? Safari 5.1.8
When you open the PDF in Adobe Reader add-in you will either see a floating toolbar

Acrobat can be used to view pdf's or edit pdf's not download them.
Check your browser settings.

Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Cannot download PDFs

I have Adobe Reader XI. I cannot download PDFs from websites. Opening stand alone PDFs from files or emails works fine. Clicking Open does not work and clicking Save or Save As does not allow me the option of saving as a PDF. Is there a reason for this?

You can enable the Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

Macbook air cannot download pdf files

I have MacBook Air and it cannot download pdf files from online. When the page shows up it is black and blank so there is no content to click to request download and cannot be Saved As or printed and changed to pdf. Help!!

Hi ..
Quit Safari.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Click Go
Move the Adobe PDF browser plugin to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari to test.

I have had this issue for a while ago. Very disappoointed that Mozilla had not addressed this .
I have switched to using Safari and Chrome now as they do not have these issues.

I cannot download pdfs from FireFox on a Mac

Up until just a few days ago I could download pdfs from websites through Firefox. As far as I know I did not upgrade or change anything. I followed all of the tutorials, the Troubleshooting Information tips, deleted profile.ind files, added the PDF viewer 0.6.39 and that does not work.
I am on a Mac, OS 10.6.8

You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) and use the external Adobe Reader application or Preview application instead.
*Firefox > Preferences > Applications > Adobe PDF document : Use Adobe Reader
PDF files may also be found under another entry like Portable document.
