  • I tunes under windows 7 cannot connect to the store and cannot download podcasts

I am using itunes under windows 7.
Since December 20, I cannot download podcasts and itunes cannot connect to the store.
I am getting the error message that an unknown error 310 has appeared.
I have reinstalled itunes and all apple programs on my laptop, without success.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Can subscribe to podcast but cannot download podcast help

    Okay here is the problem.
Made a podcast site in iweb.
made video m4v files (And they play in itunes from my CPU)
    uploaded site
    and itunes excepted rss feed
sent feed to feed validator they replied
(Your feed appears to be encoded as "UTF-8", but your server is reporting "US-ASCII")
    Note I use Godaddy.com
    also said
"This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations"
    lastly they said
line 2, column 0: Use of unknown namespace: http://www.apple.com/iweb [help]
    <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" xmlns:iweb="h ...

    </channel>
    ^
line 55, column 2: Missing recommended iTunes channel element: itunes:category [help]
I dont know where to turn from here. because I dont know how to fix my source code in iweb.
Here is my feed if anyone can help.

Thank you. And I will send you a free copy of my film if you help.

Your feed is OK, though you have not set a category - you can do this in iWeb when submitting.
The reason you cannot download the episodes is that the URL for the latest one at least does not work:
    http://www.relevantcontentmedia.com/www.relevantcontentmedia.com/Media/C%20Cups% 20and%20Gentle%20Nuts%20Ep3.m4v
Either there is no file at this address or there is something wrong with it. Looking at the display of your feed in FireFox (used as an rss reader) the episodes are described as 'Video (protected)' - have you inadvertently set a password? - no password request is received when attempting to load the URL, but you don't get a 'file not found' either. On attempting to load the URL I got a blank page: looking at the source code I found:
    </iframe></noscript></object></layer></table></body></html><!-- adsok -->
    <script language='javascript' src='https://a12.alphagodaddy.com/hosting_ads/gd01.js'></script>
If you are trying to use a script to load the video this isn't going to work in iTunes, and evidently doesn't work in a browser either - you need to give the actual URL of the media (and ideally there should be no spaces in the filename). I'm afraid you are going to have to do some detective work.

  • Cannot Download Podcasts - iTunes 10.5.1 x64

    Good Morning All -
For the past few days, I've been unable to download Podcasts in iTunes.
    What Happens
I can subscribe to Podcasts via the iTunes Store and they show up in my Podcasts section, but are greyed out. (below)
When I try to click on "Get", an exclamation point is displayed to the left of the Podcast.  When I click on it, I get an error message:  "There was a problem downloading..." It then says "Authorization is needed to access..." (below)
    Machine Specs
    Lenovo Thinkpad T510
    Windows 7 SP1 x64
iTunes 10.5.1.42 x64 (The issue was there before upgrading, though)
Administrator / Local Administrator rights. (Computer is joined to a domain, but I log into it as a local user which has local admin rights)
What I've Tried to Resolve the Issue - None of them worked:
Delete / Unsubscribe from all Podcasts, then Subscribe to them again
Deauthorize iTunes (My Computer), then Authorize it again
Reinstalled iTunes (Uninstall / Delete any leftover files from Profile & App Path (except library) / Reinstall
    Windows Event Logs show nothing
    Other Notes
About a month ago, I did create a new Library in a different folder & even on a different partition.  I used it to migrate only the things I wanted to keep.  I did it this way so I could take my time doing it without loosing any current data.  Could this have something to do with it?  I'd rather not recreate a new library again from scratch - perhaps there's a way to "reset" just the Podcasts section.
I use iTunes to sync the following devices which I own:  iPhone 4 (5.0), iPad 2 Wifi (5.0), iPod Classic (~60gb), AppleTV Classic (4.x?)
    I use iTunes Match
Previously, I've installed and used "TuneUp" which runs alongside iTunes to clean my library of 3500+ songs.
The combined size of my Library on disk is ~90gb and is held on a seperate drive & partition than iTunes & OS and uses the D: drive letter (Seems stupid to say, but know different drive letters can cause issues in some apps)
    Lastly
So what may I do to resolve this issue?  I've tried to include any information that may have a role in the error.  Just in case, I ran the iTunes diagnostics and included them below.  I tried to include everything, but guess there's a limit of screenshots you can apply to a post.
    Thank You! - Ben K.
Diagnostics - Results Below in Screenshots
Note:  Was unable to run CD Drive test due to using a 2nd hard drive in CD slot - Wouldn't think it would be issue anyways.

Disable any Anti-Virus and Firewall software on the computer then try again.

  • Cannot Download Podcasts On iPod Touch Generation 2 Anymore

I bought my iPod Touch(gen 2) last year and I never had a problem with downloading podcasts until recently? Is my iPod obsolete?

Shouldn't have issues relating to podcats, are you receving an error?
In terms of the other, you won't be able to update the iPod, that model is around 3 years old, but it should continue to function as it always has.

  • I cannot download podcasts

I can't download podcasts. I can download apps and music, just not podcasts. Any ideas? Running HP Pavilion with Win 7.

No errors at all. It looks like its downloading, and then... nothing. It clears it from the "downloads" queue, and then I'm back to where I started. It does it with all podcasts. Podcasts aren't banned by parental controls.

  • Help-cannot download podcast from itunes to ipod.  error msg

I have the IPOD video 30gb, 5th generation, and have itunes 7.02..
I am able to download the podcast from itunes into my library, but am unable to download it onto my ipod. an error msg pops up:
"...was not copied to the IPOD because it cannot be played on this IPOD."
I've searched and searched for an answer to this, and it appears to be a somewhat common problem with the itunes upgradeto 7.02
does any one have a solution?!?
HELP! (i'm an ipod newbie-and this is driving me absolutely MAD!!)

    OMG-i just figured it out!!
*first of all, i came across this in the itunes store help area-->
"Why won't some video podcasts play on my iPod?
Some video podcasts, while playable in iTunes, are encoded in formats that are not compatible with iPods. To convert those videos so that they are iPod-compatible, highlight the video in iTunes, right-click on the selection, and choose "Convert Selection for iPod". iTunes will automatically re-encode the video for playback on iPod. Go to the Movies section of your Library to find and play the converted episodes.
*i had converted the podcast previously, but i had just continued to try and transfer it from the podcast section rather than going to the movie's section, and dragging it from there. once i did that, it worked!
hope this helps anyone else out there, as i did come across a few other queries...

  • Cannot download podcast. tried resubscribing but no luck.

    How can I fix this?

    Any errors?
Is it specific podcasts or all that you've subscribed to?
Can you manually download the podcast from the group that produces it?

  • Cannot download podcasts or videos.

I have not been able to download purchased videos or any podcasts to itunes for about a year now.  Music downloads fine.  Fast interenet connection.  No errors. Using version 11.0.1.12 but it has not worked in earlier versions as well.  I just sits there until I cancel it.

I've tried the iTunes logout and in already, as I said in the original post. What happens is this: I tap the cloud icon to download a podcast or purchased app; I get the circle icon that means it's trying to start downloading; nothing more happens. It will stay like that until I quit Podcasts or the App Store. And yes, I was able to download fine before the 8.0.2 update.

  • Cannot download podcasts in iTunes

A podcast I have been downloading for a while now is no longer downloading in iTunes, I get an Error 403 and the download fails to start.
However, I am able to download the same podcast on my iPhone.
    Has anyone seen this before?

One of the podcasts is Sarcastic Gamer Radio, and another one is Max Lucado Daily devotional.
Like I said, both of them download fine directly to my iphone when I do it manually.
I've done some research, error 403 appears to mean that you do not have permission to download due to regional restrictions, both these podcasts are based in the US, however, I have downloaded them for weeks without any problems. I have tried removing and resubscribing to them, but still get the problem.

  • Cannot download podcasts ipod touch

Every time I download a new podcast on my ipod touch 1st gen, it won't play.  Any help?

    If you did this:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then something is wrong. It should take a few minutes. Try:
    - Another reset
    - Connect to computer and try to restore via iTunes.
    - If you can turn it off, see if you can place the iPod in Recovery mode and then restore
    - If the same thing is still showing on the screen, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour repeat these instruction.

  • Cannot download podcasts after applying latest Leopard security update

Last night I applied the latest security update to my Mac Mini, running the latest version of iTunes and Leopard. This morning I went to update my iTunes library with the latest podcasts. When I did the refresh, it started to download several podcasts, but then stopped them all with a message stating that I did not have the proper permissions. My iTunes library is on a fireware-connected DROBO that has approx. 1.5 TB free space. I have been using this configuration for over 2 months without problems.

You need to check permissions on the folder that holds your library. Navigate to your music folder, Get Info and make sure permissions are set to READ and WRITE. Then...make sure it's applied to ALL enclosed folders. (Click the Gear for the apply to all option.)

  • Cannot download podcasts on Mac

I host a weekly radio show that is uploaded to iTunes and other sources following the broadcast. In the past week, two of my listeners have written to say they can no longer download the podcast from iTunes  - one is a Mac user, while the other uses Windows 7. After doing some testing, I discovered that there are no problems grabbing the show from my iPhone (iPhone 6; 8.1.2), but on my Mac (2012 iMac; Yosemite), any programs newer than October will not work. I've been using Feeder to publish the feed (for several years) and have not made any changes to my settings, so I'm at a loss to determine what's wrong?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Answered in your other thread, and please don't post more than once.

  • Cannot download podcast episodes

My podcasts app will not download or play any undownloaded podcasts. I have been getting the error message "This episode could not be dowloaded at this time" and "This episode is temporarily unavailable"

    Sorted.
    But still a bit puzzled.
Since I appeared to OWN the Podcast (and sub)folders, that looked correct and indeed I could create new folders within them, so I had to have write permission. However, I am a member of the Group which is set for ALL the iTunes files and folders but the Podcast folders did not have Group write. This should have been ok as I apparently owned the Podcast folder, but it looks like it was all a bit confused with my server account (with the same name) and so needed the Group write permissions (which should have all been set to write, but sometimes new stuff doesn't get that set automatically).
Anyway, the net result is that with Group write permissions the Podcasts now are downloading. I am just not 100% sure why I needed Group write, but I think it's down to OSX Server's Open Directory flakiness.
If anyone else has such downloading problems, study the Podcast folders' permissions as the problem is almost certainly there and probably not obvious at first glance.
