Cannot download TV episodes "stopped (err = 9006)"

I can't download 4 episodes of 19 from a season pass I purchased. I have no firewall, virus-protection, or web-acceleration software installed beyond what OSX provides.
I have tried:
(1) Checking for Available Downloads repeatedly.
(2) Clearing the "~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads" folder repeatedly.
(3) Downloading from my iMac and my Macbook Pro (each with it's own user account).
(4) Creating a new, test user account.
(4) Downloading from two different physical locations.
Nothing works. Apple Support insists: "this error is caused by limits set by your ISP. It tends to occur with files that are over 2GB in size. It isn't based on the file being SD or HD but the total overall size of the file.
I do realize you have mentioned that you have contacted your ISP and they said there is no limit set on your downloading and that you have also tried downloading from two different locations.
Unfortunately, there is not something that I can do on this end to make these files download so I can just refer you to your ISP again to consult about this issue."
I made 2 separate calls to my ISP. They claim, and my experience suggests, there's no limits and according to speetest.net my bandwidth is fine. Furthermore, the files I can't download range from 300 - 800 MB.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

This may be a little late to be suggesting anything for this but I ran into the same problem just this morning while downloading a TV episode. I am running OS X 10.9.5 and iTunes 12.1.0.50 .
Tried all the usual things such as re-starting iTunes and re-booting my MBP with no resolution. Checked some threads that suggested running using an Ethernet cable connection rather than Wifi or turning Wifi off. Tried both and still no resolution...the error 9006 continued. Checked some other threads on this and saw that someone suggested the Firewall could be involved.
So I checked my Firewall and found the OS X Firewall was indeed turned on as per System Preferences for Security & Privacy. Before trying by turning the Firewalll off, I clicked on the lock and entered the password to get Admin privileges This allowed me to click on Firewall Options where I got the window listing the apps in which incoming connections were allowed. I noticed that iTunes had two lines in this list while the other 4 apps in the list had only one. I deleted the second line for iTunes thinking that the first line would be the oldest one.
With Wifi turned off and connected via an Ethernet cable, I tried the download again and it worked. I paused the download and turned Wifi back on. The download resumed OK. I paused the download again and disconnected the Ethernet cable. The download resumed again normally.
Don't know why there would have been two lines for iTunes in that list I saw but deleting the second line seemed to resolved my 9006 error. I see this is a very old thread but thought I'd add my comments anyway.

  • Error 400; cannot download Podcast episode

iTunes 7.1.1 returns an error message when I try to download a podcast from the HeartPodCast.org. It works well on other computers (windows). It does allow me to download 1 episode, a PDF file. On the two movie files it returns an error.
"There was a problem downloading "Episode 1 : Introduction of educational podcasting". An unknown error occurred (400).
please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again"
I looked this error code up and could only find a reference to an old iTunes version to clean up the Safari cookies, which I did and this didn't help.

  • I cannot download an episode from my cloud to my iPAD, but the rest of the season worked.

I initially tried to download the first few episodes of a show that I had purchased in iTunes and kept getting a "download error" for episode one, but others would download just fine.  Then I tried "download all" and the entire season downloaded to my iPad just fine, except for that first episode.
I can't find a way to get the episode from the cloud.  I also do not know how to delete the failed attempt from the "downloads" section of iTunes on my iPad.
    I'd appreciate any help.

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.

  • Cannot download podcast episodes

My podcasts app will not download or play any undownloaded podcasts. I have been getting the error message "This episode could not be dowloaded at this time" and "This episode is temporarily unavailable"

    Sorted.
    But still a bit puzzled.
Since I appeared to OWN the Podcast (and sub)folders, that looked correct and indeed I could create new folders within them, so I had to have write permission. However, I am a member of the Group which is set for ALL the iTunes files and folders but the Podcast folders did not have Group write. This should have been ok as I apparently owned the Podcast folder, but it looks like it was all a bit confused with my server account (with the same name) and so needed the Group write permissions (which should have all been set to write, but sometimes new stuff doesn't get that set automatically).
Anyway, the net result is that with Group write permissions the Podcasts now are downloading. I am just not 100% sure why I needed Group write, but I think it's down to OSX Server's Open Directory flakiness.
If anyone else has such downloading problems, study the Podcast folders' permissions as the problem is almost certainly there and probably not obvious at first glance.

  • Downloading purchses say, "stopped (err=.5000)" How can I fix this?

This is the error message I recieve everytime I try to download my iTunes purchases. It says that I do not have access privileges for the operation and to check my connection to the network.
Occasionally cliking retry will eventually allow a song to download, but the majority of purchases have yet to reach my library.
The only help I could find with this problem is for Mac computers, whereas I have a Windows XP. I am hardly computer savvy enough to fix this problem myself, although I have tried removing and reinstalling iTunes with no improvement.
If anybody could please lend their assistance I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your time.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Thank you. And I will send you a free copy of my film if you help.

Your feed is OK, though you have not set a category - you can do this in iWeb when submitting.
The reason you cannot download the episodes is that the URL for the latest one at least does not work:
    http://www.relevantcontentmedia.com/www.relevantcontentmedia.com/Media/C%20Cups% 20and%20Gentle%20Nuts%20Ep3.m4v
Either there is no file at this address or there is something wrong with it. Looking at the display of your feed in FireFox (used as an rss reader) the episodes are described as 'Video (protected)' - have you inadvertently set a password? - no password request is received when attempting to load the URL, but you don't get a 'file not found' either. On attempting to load the URL I got a blank page: looking at the source code I found:
    </iframe></noscript></object></layer></table></body></html><!-- adsok -->
    <script language='javascript' src='https://a12.alphagodaddy.com/hosting_ads/gd01.js'></script>
If you are trying to use a script to load the video this isn't going to work in iTunes, and evidently doesn't work in a browser either - you need to give the actual URL of the media (and ideally there should be no spaces in the filename). I'm afraid you are going to have to do some detective work.

  • Err -9006

i try to download a movie and err -9006 keeps coming up. i've gone to store=>check for purchases many, many times but err -9006 keeps coming up. apple tells me it's something to do with my firewall, but i've successfully downloaded other movies and had not problem (i downloaded one the same day i tried to download this one). i don't know what to do to download my movie. can anybody out there help out--i'm not to computer savvy. thanks!!

Look for a folder called "Downloads" in your iTunes Music folder. If there is such a folder, look for files that would be the partial download and delete those, so that the download starts over from the beginning. Then try again using the "Check for Purchases" command under the iTunes Store menu.
If that doesn't work and the problem persists, contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of their web page and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • Error message stopped (err= -61)

I was trying to download some tracks into my itunes account and when I tried doing that it stopped all of my downloads and said, "stopped(err= -61)" This is under the status section of the songs I was trying to download.

Your post mentioning EHD's as having something to do with it was the clue for me. My library resides on a G-Tech (Hitachi) external. I had tried logging in/logging out and deauthorizing/reauthorizing, ran applejack and cleared caches - nothing worked. Quit itunes, unmounted my EHD, turned it on and off, remounted, and presto! Everything's downloading fine.

  • Err=9006-cannot finish downloading purchased movie

I am trying to download the 10 commandments; but it stops almost immediately and shows only 7 kilobytes downloaded with err-9006 in the download progress column.
The movie is in my download list but when i try to "resume" the download, it wont download saying that the download is interrupted and i have to check for purchases. I then check for purchases and trys to download but it almost immediately stops downloading saying stopped downloading and "check for purchases" which i again do and the same thing happens...wont download... not sure what the problem is; but cant download this movie--also tried restarting my computer and deleting the movie from the download list...when i check for purchases the movie reapears on download list; but same thing happens as described before.
I also have been able to download other videos/movies after this error occurred; but for some reason i cannot download this movie (the 10 commandments).

  • Err- 9006 Having issues with three episodes....

    Hey all,
I am getting an err-9006 on three episodes. They are partially downloaded.
Reps at iTunes are giving me they do not know what to do. Offering a refund. The problem is one of the three episodes is a part two of two in the season and well that would just make me angry. :O)
Any ideas. Software is the most up to date for everything.
    Sean

I am practically convinced that this is a problem beyond your (and my) control. I've encountered this "err=9006" problem twice now (once with a tv episode, and another with a movie, both purchased from the iTunes store). The first time, I contacted iTunes Support, and they basically said that I needed to plug my modem/router directly into my computer, and by-pass my wi-fi connection. Sounds like voodoo, right? Anyway, it worked.
The second time, with the movie, I tried the same thing, and it didn't work. I restarted my computer, and my modem/router, and again tried plugging my computer directly into the modem/router, but it didn't work this time. I was about to fire off another email to iTunes support (from the iTunes store link), and it directed me to the "are you sure?" splash page within the iTunes Store, where it gave me the option to download my file, or proceed to contacting iTunes Support. I tried this download link (remember, I tried downloading through my iTunes Store account already via the "available downloads" link 20 times already, which didn't work), and this download link worked!
Something is up here, and as I wrote above, I don't think it has anything to do with any computer set-up, or operating system OS, or internet modem/router. I think it's a network problem - either on your (our) internet service provider's, or on the iTunes Store's end of things. My guess is that with "err=9006" problems, if you repeatedly try to download your problem file enough times (like 100 times!), it will just eventually work. But, try plugging your computer directly into your modem/router - that voodoo may work for you!

  • Errors while downloading purchases 'stopped (err = -3253)'.

I am hoping someone here can offer some help to this problem I am having.
I have had my Mac for over three years and through out this time I have purchased and downloaded a lot of films and music with absolutly no problem.  For over a month now I have been unable to download getting the error 'stopped (err = -3253)'.
I have been intouch with the iTunes store team who say there is no issue there end and have suggested a few things to try but nothing works.  They claim there is a problem with my internet connection.  However I fail continiously to download any large film (small file like song can download with the odd error) to my mac yet I can download the same to my Iphone, stream to my apple TV without fault.  I can also stream internet radio to my mac with iTunes.  I can also use all other internet services on any device without issue including my mac.  I only downloaded some software (about 6.5GB) a few days ago.
Based on this I feel the fault is with iTunes but cannot find the cause.  Steps I have tried include:
    1. Complete shutdown of everything in house.
    2. Use of Ethernet over WiFi.
    3. Creating a new libary.
    4. Signing in and out of iTunes Store.
    5. Added Mac to DMZ on Router
    6. Disabelling Firewall
    7. Changing DNS to various others aswell as my ISP's
I am a little lost what I can check from here.  I plan to visit a friends to attempt to download on their internet connection to rule mine out completly and will update here how this goes.  In the mean time perhaps some of the good people here may have some suggestions.
Thank you all in advance and I hope this will help anyone else encountering the same issues.

Hi, my name is Ralph and I been having this problem for about a month now.   I already contacted apple senior tech about the error code 3253 . They went through all the trouble shooting they had to find out that my computer was ok.  They escalated this to the engineers at iTunes.  I finally got an answer from them after they did the trouble shooting and had to send them a file from my computer while iTunes was downloading and error out .   Listen carefully.    It's not your computer or router or anything.   The problem is at iTunes and there right now investigating this problem.   So relax and hopefully they fix it soon.   I hope this has help you out. :)

  • What does err= -50 mean?  It is occurring while downloading TV episodes and renting movies in iTunes.

I am receiving "err= -50" in iTunes while trying to download TV episodes and movie rentals from iTunes.  The downloads stop and will not resume.  Any advice?

Unfortunately it isn't a very meaningful error in terms of diagnosing the issue.
    http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-31161.html
Error code -50 is a generic code meaning there's some sort of communication difficulty.
There's many computers and connections between you and those movies, and between your network box and where they are on your computer.
You could try a few general things such as rebooting the computer, or trying the download later.   Are these going to an external drive?
