In Win2000, new user just installed trial Falsh Pro8,
imported a jpg to the library, and cannot drag from library
stage?

kglad's exactly right. The layer you're dragging to has to be unlocked and visible.

Flash CS4 crashes when dragging image from library to stage

Everytime I'm trying to drag an image from the library to the stage, the program crashes.
I've been sending the crash logs to Adobe many times, but never got any solution from them.
In the log there a line that says:
<crash exception="EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" instruction="0x0c4feb66>
I'm working with 10.0.2, I thought the latest update will fix that, but it doesn't.
Changing the UI from Essential to Classic doesn't help (read somewhere it can help).

Yes, did all the updates, both XP and Java.
It looks like it's a library issue. Almost every action I'm doing in the library (drag, copy etc.) causes the Flash to crash.

Not sure what you mean by dragging it "from the library." You mean from some directory within Finder?
That's not how FCPX works.
First, create an EVENT in FCPX. Then you can drag a clip from any EVENT into the timeline (project).

Photos gone in iPhoto..cannot import from library

After burning some slideshow dvd's today, I went to quit iPhoto and the computer hung up. I had to eventually do a hard reboot. Afterwards, my music and photos were all gone. I had everything backed up on a FW HD using Backup. I was able to restore my music but the photos are a different story. The iPhoto Library is in my home folder as normal. I restarted the iPhoto app holding down the option key and tried to go that route. I get a message saying that the library cannot be read.
Any ideas?

Windows media player will not play and I cannot delete from library

Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. This is what I get when I put a CD into play.
It also will not permit me to delete a couple of cd's I copied into my library. And i cannot copy and burn cds'
Any suggestions please? I have done a system restore with no affect. Thanking you in anticipation.

Restored iPod, now cannot transfer from library???

My iPod had the "exclamation pointand folder" error. I tried reset, retry, bla, bla, bla. Finally had to download the latest version of iTunes and restore my iPod to factory settings. Now it tells me that most of my Library cannot be transferred to my iPod because I'm "not authorized to play them on this computer". I'm using the same computer and the same iPod I've always used. Why can't I download my library???

You'll probably need to authorize your iTunes store account for transferring iTunes Store purchases to your iPod.

Ok I am having a problem I cannot drag any of my music on my itunes library onto my iphone. I have looked online at everyones comments and what they tell you to do and nothing works and plus when you click the things they tell you to click on it says its going to delete everything on your iphone and i hit cancel can some please help me!

You will have to check the manually manage music box.
Changing from syncing to manually managing will indeed erase the current content.
Why not just sync the music?

OK. I have read a lot of old posts (2008-09) with the same problem with older versions, but I have a new iMac running 10.6 and iTunes 10.5.2 and I cannot drag songs from my library to a new playlist I've created. And now I cannot change the play order within a playlist. I have contacted Apple and they couldn't help me either. I even talked to a supervisor. He was stumpped. It looks like a bug has infected the system. I have an older iMac and iTunes on the same network, but it doesn't have the same prioblem. I believe if it works, don't update.
I have tried all the tricks I could find to work around this and no change.
This is so frustrating that a simple, but blessed manuver that I have loved is now broke.

What are your sync settings in iTunes for the audio content? Do you have the option to manually manage content selected from the Summary page of your device in iTunes?

Help!! I cannot load purchased music from library to ipod

Music purchased on itunes residing in my library or in purchased folder does not update to shuffle ipod. I cannot drag and drop into ipod either. I can load from cd into ipod. I have tried restoring ipod and reloading ipod update software and latest itunes. Itunes account was set up at another household but I am thinking it should be accessible from another household. What is going on??

Dragging Content from Library Crashes Flash, AE and Audition!

I'm having an issue in all three of these programs that I use regularly and it's really interrupting workflow:
In Flash, when I try to drag an object from the Library onto the stage, 9 times out of 10 Flash instantly crashes and closes.
The same thing seems to happen in AE when dragging a file or sequence onto a layer.
And the same thing happens in audition when I try to drag a file onto a track.
Also, not sure if related, but in AI, whenever I try to simply move an object, the whole program crashes.
I'm baffled! If anyone has any ideas on what the problem might be, I really appreciate your time!

Thank you for your response.
1) I have OS 10.9.5
2) On Flash: I have an unlocked layer, could be in a symbol or on the main timeline. I select a symbol from the Library, drag it onto the stage. Before the symbol appears on the stage, the program freezes for about 3 seconds, then closes.
On AE: I'll have a new Comp open. I import a file. Then I drag it onto the Comp window from the Project Window. At that point, AE freezes indefinitely until I Force Quit it.
On Audition: I have a multitrack session open and some other files open. I drag a file from the Files panel into the multitrack, and then the program freezes for about 3 seconds, then closes.
On AI: I create an object. Either text, a shape or a brushstroke. When I then select it and try to move it, the program freezes for 3 seconds, then closes.
3) For all of them there is no specific error, just the "Program quit unexpectedly." message.

I cannot drag photos between events following the instructions in Help and I cannot drag photos to any album new or otherwise.
This version seems to be not all that great…

I've been using Apple products since '74.
Wow.
I cannot find the photos from another app; i.e., tried to look for the iPhoto folder and found instead an iPhoto file. When the file is selected, selected iPhoto opens. This file must be the phots -- it's 5 GB!
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. If you're willing to risk database corruption, you can restore the older functionality simply by right clicking on the iPhoto Library and choosing 'Show Package Contents'. Then simply make an alias to the folders you require and put that alias on the desktop or where ever you want it. Be aware though, that this is a hack and not supported by Apple.
Finally, you can drag and drop pics from the iPhoto Window to the addressbook - and many other applications.
