Cannot edit ARD settings like IP and password

Since 2 weeks, if I start ARD, select the target computer (OSX 10.6.8), right-click this computer name you get a list of options including "Get Info". In the opening window there is an "Edit" button bottom right. After I edit "Address" or "Password" and click "Done" none of my changes are stored. Rather, the old values remain.
Target client is  "ARD version: 3.5.3"
I already deleted com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist both in /Library/Preferences and <user>/Library/Preferences with no avail. Any idea how to change my settings ?

Make sure to do a "hard" reset, and then, connect your computer directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the LAN port of the AEBS...and then use the AirPort Admin Utility for making changes. You may have to try the hard reset several times.

    We have this problem often.
    It happens when we either change an IP address on a NIC, or when we unplug a network cable etc.
    I'm not sure what the proper way to resolve the issue is, but this is what we do.
    1. Log in a Root
    2. Load Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions
    3. Reboot the server (there has to be another option for this?)
    4. Log in again and load the Workgroup Manager. Everything should be okay.
    If anyone knows a more elegant way to handle this, please post the info as it doesn't seem that great having to do these steps everytime a slight configuration change is made.

    If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.

    SADLY  not as i downloaded an upgrad to my original PAGES/
    i have in the meantim had to open www.icloud. then from there import the file that i am working on and then check on ipad if it uploaded/ yes it did.
    but what a waste of time as it doesn not save any changes done automatically back in the cloud....
    i am now downloading the new LION and hope that it will fix the problem
    i cant find any other way. I was lead to believe that you wrote, it saved automatically, on to the cloud, you then opened anohter device in anotother country even, and the new file was there, waiting, in its latest version.......
    and the same magic was supposed to happen in reverse.
    It doesn't/
    if i have to open a browser, go to www.icloud....why on earth did they not just leave us an icon to drop it in in that case?
    I hope the new lion will help resolve the isssue/

    In the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete the account and re-enter it - sometimes that resolves this
    Or IMHO the best long term solution is to set Apple Mail as the iPhoto e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences and use it - it has a number of advatages and has fewer problems

    After reviewing several more suggestions, I found a YouTube video that described the issue and resolved it by cleaning the dock connector. I was skeptical, but I had noticed that immediatly after charging or using my dock that the audio would be back temporarily. After cleaning the dock port, the issue appeared to be resolved temporarily, but appears to have returned again. I will clean it well and then test again to see if it resolves the issue permanantly. So far this seems to have provided the best result.

    You only think the username and password are correct; when you create an account the phone asks your mail provider to validate the username and password, and if it fails you get that message.
    You know that you must enter a username and password twice, once for incoming and once for outgoing mail?

    How can I configure the proxy settings if our proxy requests user and password.

    We have a proxy configuration that requieres the input of an user and a password. If we try to update the Creator, we get the error 'Unable to connect to the Update Center Server. Check proxy settings ...'.
    If I remember well, the first time I tried the update feature, I think I got a pop up window to input the user and the password for the proxy. But now I get always the error message. If we shut down the proxy it works fine.
    Today I tried the 'GoogleSearch' demo application and the same problen occures.

    There is never a reason to give someone your Apple ID password.  Period.
    If you've removed the device from the Find My iPhone section of www.icloud.com, then it's not activation locked.  They need to restore the device as new and set it up with their own information.
    Immediately change your Apple ID password and also update your security questions.  You may also want to change the primary email address of your Apple ID.

  • I was having problems with video and audio on certain sites like youtube. I edited some settings in Realplayer and have video now, but no audio.

    Went into preferences on Realplayer, Download and recording, then unchecked "Enable Web Downloading and Recording...". That got video going, but no audio still. (Interesting that the list of browsers below that check box did NOT include Firefox.

  • Cannot connect to iCloud despite AppleID and password being correct, and being connected to the internet.

    I have been trying to restore my iPhone 5s, however, it will not let me turn of 'Find My Phone' in order to do so. Everytime I attempt to login to my iCloud account, or disable 'Find My Phone', I receive the following message: "Verification Failed, There was an error connecting to iCloud."
    I have attempted numerous Network Resets, General Resets, Switching off and back on, hard resets etc.
    I have also signed into icloud.com and removed my phone from my list of devices, but cannot proceed to restoring the device as I cannot switch off 'Find My Phone.'
    I should also mention, none of my apps that are installed on the iPhone have connection to the internet EXCEPT Chrome. I can access any webpage using the Chrome app. Every other application alerts me that "Your iPhone is not connected to the internet," but it clearly is.
    I hope that someone can point me in the right direction.

  • I had to change a password stored in Firefox, and now I cannot get Firefox to remember a new password.

    As stated, I was required to change a password, yet the old password still appeared in the field, so I went into settings and deleted the old one, but now I cannot get Firefox to save the new password.     Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

    The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving form data like name and password.
    You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox store form data like names and passwords.

    Note that Firefox won't auto-fill saved form data automatically when autocomplete=off is used, so you need to double-click the empty name field to get a drop-down list.
