Cannot edit Service Requests or Service Offerings in SM Console

I have been working on a Service Manager deployment for the past few weeks and yesterday I lost the ability to edit a Service Request or Service Offering when going to the Library, highlighting the object and the clicking Properties.  I am using the
console on the server itself.  I have no remote consoles in the environment.  I see the properties display for a moment, then disappear.  The navbar on the left is there, but the main window is blank. Both OK and Cancel buttons are
grayed-out.  I can add a request to an offering or publish a draft by using the options from the Tasks pane.  I can edit properties of other objects.  Before yesterday, I could edit request and offering objects.  I am not
aware of any changes made to this system other than attempting to install the Exchange Connector v3 and it will not install.  (I've posted a separate question to the Connectors forum.)  There are no corresponding events in the event logs when I attempt
to open the properties.  This behavior applies to the canned offerings and requests as well as offerings and requests I have created.
All suggestions welcome.

A little more information about the property form behavior.  When the property form window first appears, the form content is visible with what looks like a progress bar.  This disappears in less than a second.  All that is visible is
the left navbar (General, User Prompts, Map Prompts, etc), the OK and Cancel buttons and a lot of whitespace where the form usually appears.  After a variable number of seconds, anywhere from 3 to 10, the OK and Cancel buttons are enabled.  I uninstalled
Service Manager and reinstalled re-using the Service Manager database.  The property form behavior remains the same.  I hope someone has fixed this before.
Thanks

  • Is there any way to query who resolved a Service Request in Service Manager?

    Hi,
I have a query that pulls the last name of the user who resolved an Incident in Service Manager. The name is pulled from a view called "IncidentResolvedByUserFactvw." I need to pull the last name of the person who completed a Service Request. There
is no view or table that I can find that has this info. Is there a "IncidentResolvedByUserFactvw" type view with the Service Request info? If not where is this data stored?
    Thank you for any help!

    couple of notes:
    necromancy!
Closed -ne Completed. Completed means the work has been delivered. Closed means the work has been delivered, the client has been contacted, we've finished all of our followups and process checks, and we're ready to archive this ticket in the historical
    database.
it doesn't really make sense to talk about who completed a service request. a service request is a structured process. as well as who built an item that came off the assembly line; the assembly line did. who completed the services request? if your service
requests are well designed, the overwhelming majority of requests will be completed by the system once the last activity in the process is completed.

  • Difference between service request and service order

    hi all,
What is the differnce between service request and service order? when to use what?
    Thanks
    Raghav

Service Order -> "You use service orders to record the details of a one-off service agreed upon by a service provider and a service recipient. Service orders contain all the information needed to plan, execute, and bill for a service."
Service Request -> "You use service request management to reliably submit, dispatch, approve, monitor, and fulfill requests for service by your customers. Service requests can be used internally by companies where a department delivers services, for example, in shared service center scenarios, as well as in external customer-facing scenarios.
Service requests can be logged through a service desk, directly by the service personnel, or by the users themselves into the system and then, if necessary, can be dispatched to the appropriate personnel for service delivery."

  • Using emails to create service requests in Service Manager 2012 R2

I have a portal form created and am able to direct the flow of service requests to the proper service request fulfillment view. I cannot see an obvious way to take in emails and create service requests, they always create incident requests. Any thoughts?

Service requests are meant to be a well defined process which is hard to achive with an email (because the sender can write anything). With that being said the
3.0 RTM exchange connector should be able to create service requests.  From the documentation:
Service Manager. Exchange Connector 3.0 contains bug fixes and the initial set of features, which includes the following capabilities:
Create incidents and service requests from email.

  • Cannot edit ACL using document services API

I have been trying to edit the access control lists related to a particular file:
When I try to edit the access control list using the POST method described in the document, I get the error: "BadEndpoint.
I got a similar error message while listing the ACL, and that went away when I realized that there is a bug in the URL where the GET request to retrieve the ACL must be sent. The actual url should be:
    /webservices/api/v1/dc/[node-id]/acl
This got my GET request to start working.
But the same problem in the POST request does not get it to work. Without issuing a /dc for the POST, I get "BadEndpoint", while when I do /dc for the POST, then I get BadMethod.
    Any ideas?
    POST /webservices/api/v1/dc/[node-id]/acl?apikey=myKey&calltime=1245961011519&sessio nid=mySession&sig=mySig HTTP/1.1

    Content-Length: 146
    Expect: 100-continue
    <request><acl><user id="[email protected]" rights="full"/><user id="[email protected]" rights="contributor"/></acl></request>

So another 'typo' in the API Reference... hope they will update it someday...

  • CSD_RULE_MATCH_FAILED-calling service request api from oracle apps adapter

We are doing integration between Siebel and Oracle Apps. When a service request is created on Siebel we are passing that in Oracle Apps using Oracle Apps adapter which is calling a custom API which is doing all the validations and in turn is calling a public api for service request creation. There are two types of service requests - Field Service and Depot Repair. For Field Service we are able to successfully insert the data on Oracle Apps, but for Depot Repair we are getting an error 'CSD CSD_RULE_MATCH_FAILED' from the standard API.
We have checked the setup and found it is proper. We invoked the pl/sql API from sql developer and we are able to insert the data. So we are facing this issue only when calling the api from oracle apps adapter.
In the invoke call we have set these properties -
    jca.apps.RespApplication
    jca.apps.Responsibility
    jca.apps.Username
Based on our analysis till now it is looking like a security context setup issue, but we are not really sure what properties to set.
Any help in getting this through will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shantanu

    Hi Vijay,
We have created the apps adapter with default settings as 'apps' user and set the properties Responsibility, RespApplication, Username of <invoke>. Other than that no other settings has been changed.
    Are we missing anything?
This adapter is able to hit the database in case of 'Field Service' but it is failing for 'Depot Repair'.

  • Inbox Search - status for service request not updated

    Hi,
In inbox search, the status change for a service request does not reflect until the user log offs or opens the service request in edit mode. PFB the steps followed. (Two users are monitoring the service request but is being processed only by one)
Web UI window 1(User 1): I open the inbox search result page. Service requests are displayed with the status field
Web UI window 2(User 2): In a separate window, the service request is approved by changing the status of the service request to Approved.
Web UI window 1(User 1): In the inbox result screen, i click on search for the same search criteria, but still the old status of the service request(updated in window 2) is displayed.
    Observation:
    1. If I open the service request, the service request still has the old status. If i click on edit, the new status is displayed. If i click on Back button (without clicking on edit), the new status is refelected for the service request in the inbox result page now.
    2. If I log off and again open the inbox result, the new status of the service request is reflected.
    3. The status of the service request is updated in the database immediately user 2 changes the status.
There is no enhancement done for the inbox search. The behavior is for standard inbox result.
Please provide any pointers to resolve this issue.

    Radhika
Edited by: Radhika Chuttani on Jan 5, 2011 7:13 AM

    Radhika,
This is standard behavior in the SAP inbox. The reason is that SAP buffers search results in the Inbox in order to improve performance. So even though you hit "search" again, SAP does not update the search results because this search has already been executed in this session. Clicking "End" or logging off refreshes the buffer.
SAP released a note to update the "Responsible Employee" in the Inbox without requiring the user to log off. You can see their explanation and the solution here:
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1465966
If you want to enable inbox refresh every time a search is executed, you will probably have to do custom coding. My guess is that you may be able to leverage the CRM_IC_INBOX_BADI. Let me know if this much info is enough or if you want further details on how to technically achieve this.

  • Reporting In Service Manager 2012 - How To Get A List Of All Service Requests Regardless of Status

Within the Custom Reporting Options available to users of Ssystem Center Service Manager 2012, which would one use to create reports that do not contain any agregated data but are instead detail level info such as a list of all Service Requests reardless
of status?  I want to include within the report the same data you see on the main page of a Service Request when you double-click a Service Request within Service Manager and it pops opne the details of the Service Request.
I'm trying to get the following info for each Service Requests
    SR ID (i.e. SR1234)
    Affected User
    Title
    Description
    Priority
    Source
    Area
    Support Group
    Assigned To
    Created By and Created On
I know the cubes w/Excel offer a great way to get data for a **piece meal report or for getting agregated data (I.E. counts, sums, avergares, Max's & Mins) but I need a report that has zero totals and no agregations.
    Thanks
** A piece meal report is a report that has to be manually pieced together by combining data from others reports and other sources because no single report can be constructed to bring all the data togethere into a single report.  If you've ever
worked with an accountant taht uses Excel for everything but who has no idea how SQL or databases in general are deisgned then chances are you've either been asked to create a piece meal report for them and or seen them do one them selves when they open a
spreadshet and dump into it disperate data from a variety of sources and then ask you why you can't automate that same report for them.

the following thread covers some good SQL queries to get details about the Incident Request, just amend them to cover the Service Request

  • SRVR(Service Request) and SRVO(Service Order) are not appearing in IC_Agent

    Dear friends,
We are planning to implement Service Requests and Service Orders in CRM 7.0 Interaction Center
The Service Transactions(Service Order/Service Request) are available in 'Service Professional' business role but not available in 'IC_AGENT' role.
    The things i have observed
    1. Without the channel the Transaction Type was not appearing in SAP GUI (CRMD_ORDER)
    2. Even after maintaining the Channels the BUS2000223 (Service Request) did not appear in CRMD_ORDER but the SRVO- Service Order transaction type appeared.(BUS2000116 Service Process)
    3. Have maintained the SRVO and SRVR transaction types as dependent transaction types in the 'Business Transaction Profile'; still when clieck on the Service Request or Service Order create I am getting the below error
'No transaction type is available for creating a transaction'
    Below is the diagnosis
    Diagnosis
No transaction type is available when creating a transaction. This can be due to the following reasons:
No transaction type is available according to Customizing
The user has no authorization for the transaction type
    System Response
It is not possible to create the transaction.
    Procedure
    Make sure that:
The transaction type is set up in Customizing
The user has authorization for the transaction type
Can you please guide me where the actual issue is

  • Upgrade from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 now Find Service Request does not work.

I recently upgraded our Test machine from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 (RHEL 4.8). After performing the install and applying appropriate patches and most recent CPU when I attempt to 'Find Service Request' I can search by number, choose the correct SR I want in the form and click open. However when the SR form opens it just defaults to a new SR instead of the one returned in the search results. I have generated all form files again and that did not change anything. I have searched and not come across anything that appears to be applicable. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

I am logged in as myself and using the 'Service' responsibility.
Service -> Service Requests -> Find Service Requests
    versions:
    CSXSRISR 120.208.12010000.84
I do the search and I find it, however when it goes to open the result the sr form is as it is new.
Oddly enough if I go under sysadmin and use the same responsibility, same path and search the sr will open the returned result.
As sysadmin however it has a different layout in the 'folder' at the top of the screen. Could this be causing the difference or should that matter?
    Thanks

  • Service Request Status Configurations

    Hi Experts,
I am configuring Service Requests in CRM 7.0. We have created Status Profiles and have assigned it to the Transaction Type. There is a need to have statues and sub-status (reason for status). For example: When we select In-Process as the status the sub-status should display the reason for the request being in In-process status like: Waiting customer response, analysis in process etcu2026
Is this functionality available out of the box. If so, how can we achieve it? I tried configuring this using multi-level categorization but could not find a way to link a category and statuses configured.
Any pointers on resolving this issue will be of great help.
    Regards
    Namita

    Hi Namita,
    Thats why i mentioned CRM2007
If on CRM7.0, we dont have reason maintenance but have all new Multiple Categorization concept introduced.
As PePe says, Service Request and Service Ticket are all different transactions as they have different  Buss. Objects. Service Request is new thing from CRM7.0 .Earlier we had only service tickets where you can maintain the reasoning.
Depending your Project Realization mapping as decided by Solution Architech, either service req. or service tickets should be used. Now since you are using Service requests, we have to fullfill your needs there only.
If you want, you can still get the Reason dropdown in WEB UI thought development. Add BTSUBJECT in the view and do the coding to read your subject profile , subject codes and show the texts. This will be pure development but i dont see much effort as you are still doing it in BT model. I would recommand to go with categorizations only as its SAP std. suggested for Service Requests scenario. Maintaining Categorization and schema is failrly simple however i feel SAP has un-necessarily complecated it. Follow the help.sap.com categorization under CRm service. They have nice explanations. We generally maintain categorization from WEB UI only and not through SPRO.
Let me know if you stuck up on coding part as i have already done it, i may help you.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suchita

Help me please am stuch and can't move on ... Please guide me.
    Thanks
    Lutchumaya

    Hi Lutchumaya,
I dont think these two errors have the same reason. You probably missed one or two little details when performing the tutorial.
For the second error, it seems than you are trying to create a new service history with lineNo = null, search in the tuto where and how fixing this value (using a java function).
For the first one, it's not easy. You could have an error in the SREdit.java class, but if it works with another logged in user?
Maybe the best way is that you try to use one of the endOfChapter package proposed by the tutorial. Run it, then if it runs correctly compare each file with these you developed beginning by SREdit.java and SREdit.jspx. If it doesn't run, you probably missed one of the embedded OC4J settings.
    Good luck,
    Tif
PS: please, next time post only the 4 or 5 first line of your error message (other error lines are trigged in cascade by the first one), probably more people will read them.

  • Service Requests-Business days when year changes

    Hi All,
I am trying to calculate for how long a SR has been open in business days only.
I have successfully used Mike Lairson's formula for the last 9 months but it seems it cannot cope with year changes. If the begin data is in 2009 and the end date in 2010, the results are not correct anymore.
E.G. For an SR that was opened on 12/30/2009 and closed on 01/05/2010 should return 5 business days but it is actually returning 110.
The syntax that I used so far is:
    (CASE
/* Convert Sunday to the Business Day Of the Year */
    WHEN DAYOFWEEK("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time") = 1
    THEN (DAYOFYEAR("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time") - WEEK("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time")) -
    (WEEK("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time") - 2)
/* Convert Saturday to the Business Day Of the Year */
    WHEN DAYOFWEEK("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time") = 7
    THEN (DAYOFYEAR("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time") - WEEK("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time")) -
    (WEEK("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time") - 1)
/* Convert Mon-Fri to the Business Day Of the Year */
    ELSE (DAYOFYEAR("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time") -
    WEEK("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time")) +
    (2 - WEEK("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time")) END)
    (CASE
/* Convert Sunday to the Business Day Of the Year */
    WHEN DAYOFWEEK("Service Request"."Opened Date") = 1
    THEN (DAYOFYEAR("Service Request"."Opened Date") -
    WEEK("Service Request"."Opened Date")) -
    (WEEK("Service Request"."Opened Date") - 2)
/* Convert Saturday to the Business Day Of the Year */
    WHEN DAYOFWEEK("Service Request"."Opened Date") = 7
    THEN (DAYOFYEAR("Service Request"."Opened Date") -
    WEEK("Service Request"."Opened Date")) -
    (WEEK("Service Request"."Opened Date") - 1)
/* Convert Mon-Fri to the Business Day Of the Year */
    ELSE (DAYOFYEAR("Service Request"."Opened Date") -
    WEEK("Service Request"."Opened Date")) +
    (2 - WEEK("Service Request"."Opened Date"))
    END)
    +
/* Adjust for Year Change */
    (365 * (YEAR("Service Request"."Closed Date and Time") -
    YEAR("Service Request"."Opened Date")))
Any ideea or hint would be highly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Dorin

    Hi,
i used this formula to find out the days it calculates between 31/12/2009 and 01/01/2010, the result it gave was 106 days.
So i subtracted 106 from 365 days (365-106=259)in the formula, the formula is now giving the correct values.
I think we have to add the total working days and not the no.of days in a year.
Please can you all reconfirm the results.
    Thanks
    Neena
