Cannot eject Ipod, please help
I have the latest versions of Itunes (version 6) and ipod software and have tried to reset my ipod various times but it does not resolve the following problem.
After Itunes finishes updating my Ipod somehow I cannot disconnect the Ipod. Ipod keeps displaying "do not disconnect" and if I try to eject I get the message: "Ipod cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application".
I have unchecked in the options both" "Enable disk use" and "open Itunes when ipod is attached"... but this does not solve the problem...
any ideas?

Actually all the ways suggested in the links you indicated fail with the exception of resetting the ipod. If I reset it than I am able to disconnect (but this seems a bit too much to disconnect the ipod).
And even using the "safely remove hardware" icon in the system tray fails, in the sense that windows responds by saying that 'the hardware cannot currently be removed, try later'.
I then tried to connect the ipod without having the Itunes running and everything seems fine. I can disconnect it using the "safely remove hardware" icon in the system tray with no trouble.
Basically the best cure I found is to connect the ipod first and then run Itunes. If I have the Itunes software running and then I connect the Ipod, basically it seems that Itunes locks my ipod and does not let go...
Anyway, thanks again for your help.

I havent updated it in a year and i tried to sync some new music i bought to it and its saying it cannot be recognised and do i want to restore it to the factory settings.. I'm having tonnes of problems with my ipod and itunes:
1. I just bought a brand new macbook, and wanted to put all the music from my ipod onto my macbook, So i followed the directions on here for how to do that. incidentally, it did not work, and i was prompt to do nothing else but restore my ipod. Now that i've restored my ipod i can't sync songs from my Macbook to my ipod, and message occurs say " Attempting to copy to disk "LAUR'S IPOD" failed, device could not be read from or written to" The same message occurs on my home PC with windows. I have the latest version of itunes, the latest software on my mac, i've called 1800 they couldnt help, My ipod is still recognized by my computers, and still charges, it just doesnt sync, i've also tried deleting damaged music files too. I've restored my ipod about 3 times and still no luck.
2.I also can never eject my ipod, a message occurs saying " cannot eject ipod, try closing applications first" and there are no other apps open. WHY IS THIS SO HARD!

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

when i burn a disk in Disk Utility, the burn completes but the verification process does not complete and my disk pops out. The error message i get is something like this "burn failed because disk cannot be verified," PLEASE HELP.
Also when i take the disk out it seems fine nd everything seems to be burned onto the disk. I am buring mac os x lion onto a disk.
The disk i am using is nextech and i am burning at the slowest speed (4x).
Also this is my 3rd time trying to do this and the verifying process keeps failing.... what do i do?see there

I’d be happy to help with this messaging error! This will be due to the device storing the number incorrectly. Please do the following to resolve the issue:
Delete texts from both old number and new
Delete any call logs including these numbers
Delete old number from contacts
Delete new number from contacts
Restart device
Send text to the new number directly (do not save as contact)
Once the text sends successfully, you can then save as a new contact

i cannot backup my iphone4s because no more storage is displayed when the storage statistics shows Total Storage 5GB and Available Storage 5GB - basically i haven't used any memory but i cannot backup! please help. i am only trying to back up my notes and contacts. that's it. and i don't think it will use up 5GB
On your iPhone, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage. There you should be able to see how much of your used storage is allocated to different things (ex., iphone backup, ipad backup, mail). From there you should be able to figure out what is going on.

I need to deactivate it because we are getting rid of the computer it is on and are buying a new one. When I go to Help there is no Deactivate option. The only options are: "Help", "Hide Coach", "Tip of the Day", "Adobe Website", "Technical Support Website", "Frequently Asked Questions", "Check for Updates", "Register", "Download e-License..." (Greyed out), "Return e-License..." (Greyed out) and "About Adobe Visual Communicator 3". I spoke with support through chat and they said my product was no longer supported.

Hi, I have just bought another ipod, I have now a 60GB video ipod and a new 8GB ipod. Does it pose any problem when synchronising ? Can they have different names ? ThksYou can name your iPod whatever you like. If you are connecting a second iPod for your own use, just connect it to your computer and it will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it update the whole library, selected playlists or you can manage it manually.
When using a small capacity iPod like the Nano with a large library, you can choose the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" (called Sync Music - All songs and Playlists in iTunes 7). This would allow you to create a playlist specifically for your Nano and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod Nano (around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB). I have a new ipod. After I put the music on that I wanted i clicked eject. The error message I receive is "cannot eject ipod because it contains material in use by another application"
Nothing else is open - I cannot figure this out. The only thing I can think if is that some of the songs came off another hard drive. Any clues?This message appears often to me, too. When it happens, you could try playing a song in iTunes (even better if you play a song or video by clicking on the file itself, not by choosing it in the iTunes library). Another way is resetting your iPod (holding the central and menu buttons toghether) while still connected to your computer. I can not sync music to my ipod from itunes because it keeps saying "The ipod cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found." I have already tried reinstalling my USB drive and it is still not working. The ipod shows up in itunes and then on my computer briefly then it disappears. PLEASE HELPI am having the same problem and I don't know what to do about it! I have 916 songs on my computer but only 136 are transferring on to my ipod. I just started using a new computer and I tried synching it today for the first time and that's what happened. My itunes keeps freezing when this happens and then I have to restart my computer so it's frustrating. please if anyone knows what to do...

For the error, "files that are in use by another application", check the preferences on all your antivirus/antispyware software and make sure they are set not to scan iPods. If you are manually managing your music, set your preferences not ot scan external storage devices. -
Cannot sync my iPod. please help
I got a new laptop for christmas and i finally tried to move all my itune's files/music from my old computer to my new laptop. Everything transferred fine but when i try to sync my iPod it says "Cannot sync apps to the iPod because the apps installed on the iPod cannot be determined". If anyone knows a way to solve my issue, please help!
