Cannot email pics

When I try to send pictures from iPhoto in an email the recipient only gets a bunch of letters and numbers. This is happening every time I try now where as before it was only here and there. I'm using iPhoto 4 from iLife 2004, have recently updated iPhoto on line. Another recent change was I added the new Tiger software but iPhoto worked fine for about 2 months since then. No other changes that I can think of. I also deleted my iPhoto preferences to fix another prob I was having with iPhoto but the not being able to send pictures has been ongoing. Thanks for any help or ideas.

I am having a similiar problem. I am selecting 5 photos from an album. and hitting the email button, choosing small size, have the boxes ticked for including file name, etc, hit compose, a little window appears saying its doing its work, and then nothing. No email page with my photos opens.
But this morning, I was able to email photos from a fresh import, and everything worked perfectly.
To try and see if there was a pattern, I selected only 1 of the photos that I am having trouble with, and I got my email page opened with this photo included, but then when I selected more that 1 of those photos, the same problem.
I don't regularly send photos, so this has happened to me in the last week.
Cannot see the problem myself.
Any clues as to why this selective problem exists would be greatly appreciated.

PS. When exporting pics to the desktop, that box that pops up and allows resizing, I do not understand. I would just like to be able to enter, say, 100kb size, and just let it get on and compose my selected photo based on that.

All of the basics you mentioned I have covered. I can send and receive email and get on the internet. I just sent some photos to Florida a week ago but now I cannot. When I highlight a photo and click email, i-Photo starts to compose but then no email comes up. I tried to use the share link but the same thing happens. I have dragged photos to mail and nothing happens. I have i-Photo 6 as the Mac is about 4 years old. My operating system is Mac OS X 10.4.11. I am up to date on any software updates and thought that maybe an update caused this glitch. No error report comes up.
Since this is the first issue I have had with my Mac I am new to this forum. Thanks for responding to my question!

8350i Email pics error

For some reason when I email pics I took with my Blackberry camera to several different email addresses, the files cannot be opened. I get an error message stating "unsupported or incorrect file type" in all windows photo apps. The files all have .jpg extensions but won't open.
I tried renaming them with no success. Any advice? Thanks!

When you register the host routing table that should send any missing service books to your phone. Also on your carrier's BIS website there should be a "Send Service Books" button you can hit to send them to your phone. If doing those don't work your carrier should be able to push them to your device from their end

Hi Jerry, It often works best with web mail. I know some email services block bulk email completely and I’ve only tested it with Gmail which works fine. Should also work with other web mail e.g. Yahoo and Hotmail. Not sure about Comcast. Before you start it will help to check your internet security settings. If they are set to High, reduce the settings to Medium temporarily. Then follow these instructions.
1. Log in to your mail provider on the web and add the following email to your address/contacts book.

2. Open Organizer and on the menu click:
Edit >> Preferences >> Sharing
3. Choose Adobe Email Service from the client dropdown menu.
4. Add your name and email address to the fields provided and click OK
5. Test the system (first use only) by selecting a photo in organizer and choosing Share >> Photo Mail then click Next
6. Choose a contact then click Next
7. Click Next Step, then click Next - the sender verification dialog will open.
8. Check you have spelt your email address correctly and hit the Resend E-Mail button.
9. Go to your inbox (also check spam) and when the Adobe mailer message is received copy (Ctrl+C) the long verification code.
10. Return to the verification dialog and paste it (Ctrl+V) into the Sender verification field and click OK. Wait for validation confirmation then click OK to continue

Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts? If so:
1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane. This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary.

Cannot email animated gif's

I've recently downloaded several small sized animated .gif files on safari to the iphone camera roll, and I cannot email this file for whatever reason. I get "Saving file" when I "Email Photo" and it will continue saving the file in a loop, which is quite odd since the file is already saved on the iphone. This happens on any of the animated gif files I have on the phone. I figured since I can download that file rather quickly, is it the upload that is slowing things down? I have left some running for over 15 minutes with no avail. I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks.

Not all of the users in our environment have this issue. If the users having this issue, install a secondary email account, Gmail, Hotmail, etc, then they can send through those accounts. Why would the exchange account not be seen to send photos?

Sounds like it worked until the policies associated with the account that are creating the problem were fully pushed down.
Try setting up a new (test) Exhange account and see if it behaves the same way on the phone (after removing the problem account from the phone, of course).

This doesn't work for me at all. I tried entering exactly the same information that I used to set up my regular email account and I'm still getting an error message. I even tried switching to using my gmail account and neither one worked. Then it got hung up and had to repair my database! I have a lot of photos on my Mac (thank goodness they're backed up) and I was really sweating it for a moment.
Apple is so easy until it's not. I find this to be really aggrevating and I'm irritated that it hasn't been fixed. In fact I did an online search and someone described this same problem in detail and it was exactly what was happening to me. Same error messages.
I'm frustrated that Apple keeps updating it's operating system and then we go through these glitches.
And while I'm at it, I have never had such a frustrating time using my login information as I have to get into this forum! Why do they make it so difficult? There's just something about the way it's worded that get's me messed up every time. Meanwhile, at least get iPhoto fixed!

I cannot email photos from iPhoto. I checked the outgoing mail server and port and they are correct. When I try to email photos the message i'm getting is the server did not reply check your internet connection and try later.. but my internet connection is fine. Any suggestions? I have Yosemite 10.10.3 software installed.

Do you have two-step verification enabled and are trying to mail from your iCloud account?
Then check this solution:
If you had two-step verification enabled, you have to set up an app-specific password for iPhoto, if you want to use iPhoto as a Mail client.

This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:
https://appleid.apple.com
Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).
And...voila' (I hope)

I have iphoto 9.2 and cannot email photos. When I go to send it, it tells me that "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination."
What does that mean? I thought I had it set up to send from my POP account.

How do I get money back on Quickoffice pro as it doesn't work and I cannot email the developers website to ask for support? If you cannot select cells or cell ranges to a sum formula then the software is not fit for purpose and I should be refunded?

I recently purchased Quick office pro HD for my iPad. I cannot get it to add cell or cell references to a simple sum() function. I have looked for support and checked demonstration videos but my app doesn't work. I cannot email the developer's website for direct answer. If this was a faulty good I would take it back to the retailer for a full refund but how do you do that in the app world? I wish I had bought the numbers app instead - what a waste of £13.99.

Unpack the archive.
Open the file "Info.plist" with Pref Setter.
Open the entry entitled : CFBundleDocumentsTypes
Open the items 9, 10, 11, 12
The normal contents is :
Double check the parameters available for items 9 & 10.

This sounds like one of those "oddities", contributed to by a few sources.
I can clear the Safari cache files as a temporary solution, but I encounter the same difficulties with the “problematic” files once they have been opened again.
Wondering if you disabled the Safari Cache would the refresh function work correctly? As a test you can disable the Safari Cache by Emptying the Cache first via the Safari menu, then Quit Safari. Now go to the Finder>Your User Library>Caches>Safari. Single click on the Safari folder, then Apple Key + I to open Info panel. There, check the "locked" box. This prevents further additions to the cache. The downside, you lose your ability to upload images etc. within Safari (my cache is disabled, so I use Firefox for the uploads).
Then restart Safari. Try the PDF from within Safari.
