Cannot enable and use Wi-Fi on my Satellite L500-176

Hi,
I have a Toshiba L500-176 with Windows 7 Home Premium (64), only one month old and I have a problem with it.
Suddenly, it stopped connecting via wifi, I thought it would be to have installed or uninstalled a program and restores the system to a previous point where if it worked, but still did not detect connections, so I restored the former point, asin but I kept working.
I have tried to activate the wifi with the famous combination fn + f8 but as happens to many people is no particular combination appears on the screen (but on the keyboard). So look at the ConfigFree where it appears that the wlan connection is not available. "
The connections via ethernet cable running smoothly, but as withdrawal cord, no wifi option anywhere.
I tried to fix it with drivers available for this model but no way, as a last alternative format the computer to see if he returned to its original state, but still not working, the wifi light comes on only when you reboot, at first.
There a solution? why looking for information I've found many people with the same problem and few solutions.
PD: certainly in the device manager you see only the Realtek PCIe Controller Family. And right now I have no ethernet cable connected...

As I see, you have made a factory restores settings but it is still not working. Also, it's not shown in device manager that makes me think that there is hardware malfunction related to wifi module. You said it's only one month and still under warranty. So, contact the Asp (service center) in your country:

How to enable and use drag capability on MacBook

I have early 2009 MacBook white, with trackpad having one button. (hope you all remember)
I want to enable and use dragging capability. How can I do it?
Anyone can show me via pictures or video, how to enable and use drag.

It says double tap for dragging, I have even enabled it, but it's not working.

Cannot click and use keyboard

I have an HP Envy and I'm not able to click and type at the same time. The reason I would is because I play games that require the keyboard and mouse to be used simultaneously. This is different, however, from moving the mouse and using the keyboard, that problem was fixed. Any help is appreciated.

With the drivers note correcting the issue, then your looking at a few options.
To rule out it being software or the operating system try the following in order:
Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8) - this will take you through a system refresh in Windows 8. This may be able to resolve the issue for you.
Overview of Recovering the OS or Reinstalling the Operating System - if the above fails, then try this one. It takes you through a complete recovery/reinstall of the operating system.
If those don't resolve the issue, it's most likely hardware. In which case I'd recommend contacting support for possible repair/replacement options. HP Technical Support, North America 1-800-474-6836. For all other regions click here.

UPDATE : Toshiba Recovery Wizard 'cannot read from source file or disk' error (satellite L500)

UPDATE 2: Phoned Toshiba tech support again, guided by techie to begin the recovery again. Just before phoning I was able to go into recovery options and view the drive setup and all the files that couldn't be read are on the CD so I've no idea why the error kept occuring, and neither did the techie. Fingers crossed it works this time but I'm not overly hopefully given that we've just done exactly the same as I did before. UPDATE 1: I got into the BIOS and reset everything back to defaults and yay, my toshiba recovery wizard now starts! :-D On the down side, when trying to do a factory default software / out of the box recovery I continually get error messages with regards to copying the files, for example

I have a two and half year old satellite L500 with an Intel i-3 and 4 gigs of RAM, on which I was running Windows 7.
Admittedly it’s had rather a hard life (I ran some very demanding CAD / graphics software on it) but it had always performed well until just recently, when after suffering several BSOD (which had never happened before), the hard drive failed.
I partitioned and formatted a brand new hard drive (which is perfectly fine and functions normally when hooked up to another laptop with a SATA to USB cable) and obtained system recovery discs from Toshiba. Unfortunately, when I try and run the first disc, windows starts to load files but then generates an error screen with the message Error F3-F100-0003 and a request to turn the computer off.
When I use the windows Memory Diagnostic to get into the Windows Boot Manager Screen I get the following;
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware / software change might be the case.
To fix the problem
Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer
Choose your language settings and click ‘next’
Click ‘repair your computer’
File: \boot\memtest.exe
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
I can also use F8 on startup to get into the advanced boot options but selecting any of them simply results in the F3-F100-0003 error message. I’ve run a memory test using the UBCD, which tells me the memory is fine, and tried another hard drive (which also works perfectly well in another laptop) but no joy. On phoning Toshiba support the techie said my hard drive had failed, but as I say, both hard drives are perfectly fine / usable when hooked up to another laptop. I’m now completely stuck as to what the problem is and how I might resolve it – any advice / suggestions would be most gratefully received! Thank you in advance :-)

the second disc gives me the the "cannot read from source file or disk PREINST8.SWM"
My best guess is that the disc is not readable. Try copying it to another. Sometimes that works.
Otherwise, order new discs from Toshiba.

Satellite C660 - how to enable and Use WAKE ON LAN?

Hi All,
I previously posted asking about using Wake on Wireless LAN and was very helpfully advised that this was not possible, so I have started to explore the Wake ON LAN option.
I have a Toshiba C660 PSC0LE-00500JEN and have enabled Wake ON LAN on the BIOS, and have connected a LAN cable between my wireless router and the laptop, both of which recognise each other so the cable seems ok.
However, whether I use a WAKE ON LAN app on my android, or I use an online "wake on lan via browser" site, the laptop still remains asleep.
Can anyone advise?

The Wake Up on Lan option would work if you would send an Magic Packet to the remote machine (notebook).
I have no experience using the Android app who knows if it function properly
Try other method. For example using an software like Wake on Lan for Windows Graphical User Interface (GUI)
Google for that to download this software.
Furthermore go to device manager -> LAN card -> Properties -> Advanced tab and check here if the WOL is enabled too

Javascript enabling and using JS methods on TextEdit component

I am working to display data using TableView component.
In each row, one of the cell contains a group of radio
buttons and an other cell contains TextEdit component.
For an event on the group of radio buttons, the TextEdit
should flip editable to non-editable and vice-versa.
I am using the TextEdit attribute method,
setJsObjectNeeded(true)
to expose the JavaScript methods of the component.
I am using the following bits of code for accessing the
TextEdit JavaScript functionality.

func = window[funcName];
var text_edit_comp = eval(func(id_of_textedit));
text_edit_comp.setEnabled();
Whole thing works as planned, but it is not possible to
disable or enable the TextEdit component using the
JavaScript, as shown above.
In the portal documentation, the JavaScript object
methods were mentioned only for certain components, NOT
including TextEdit !!
If I replace TextEdit with InputField, it works perfectly
as like needed.
How to hack it to work for TextEdit ?

I did use the suggestion. No use.
When I say,
var textedit = eval(func("<id-of-the-textedit-from-java"));
I am getting the object reference.
When I say,
var id = textedit.id;
var elem = document.getElementById(id);
I am getting the HTML name/id and object of the text edit.
Now when I use JS methods and properties,
alert("type="+elem.type);
alert("name="+elem.name);
I get them back correctly.
Then when I say,
alert("disable ?"+ document.forms[0].elements[elem.name].disabled;
I am getting answer as 'false' which is not correct. It
is initially disabled, when I defined with Java.
And subsequently, when I say,
document.forms[0].elements[elem.name].disabled = false;
It didn't affect it at all.
If I try to use the JS methods provided by Portal, like..
textedit.setEnabled();
It is giving an JS error saying that the object doesn't
have that method.

My username is [email protected], and I purchased adobe creative cloud membership last year in October 1, I been using the software but today I wanted to launch Adobe Muse and I did not find the software in my pc, however, I used it last year and it was working perfectly. It seems that the update 2014.3 of this software is not working but I do not know what to do. The software does not appear on my programs but it shows in the creative cloud app that is been updated. Please Try to launch it from Creative Cloud Application.
In the Apps tab of creative cloud please click on "Muse CC 2012.3". This should launch Muse CC 2014.3.
Later you can Pin it to Task Bar.
If it do not launch please try to uninstall and re-install Muse with in Creative cloud.

DEP error- cannot resolve and use itunes

Desperate about not being able to use my Itunes due to this DEP error- data execution error.
Now 5 times and still no joy. I have uninstalled 5 times, but noticed i did not have in first uninstall, the QT part of Apple but it worked before without it.
I am using Vista windows and recently using Chrome Google as Internet Explorer has had some virus on it.

Cannot install and use dell 1130n and hp 1022n in windows 7 pro 64 bit os for dell pc

HP driver list does not appear to offer printer driver online for windows 7 pro 64 bit os. Only win 7 64 bit is visible option on HP and verified PC is a wind 7 pro 64 bit os. Is this why my installed HP 1022n printer will never be able to print? Tried plain win 7 64 bit os and dell pc optiplex 380 but I got nothing. No print. the HP 1102n is default printer. thoughts?

I see by your post that you need the drivers for Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I would like to help.
I checked the website and there is a Full Feature and Basic driver available for Windows 7 64 bit. HP LaserJet 1022n Printer Drivers. Did you try both of these drivers?
I would try and install the preinstalled Windows drivers, if you are having issues using the downloaded drivers on the site with your Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Run the Add a printer wizard from Devices and Printers.
You could also plug and play the drivers. Connect the printer to the computer and see if Windows will detect the printer and install the drivers automatically.

If I understand you correctly, you want to set your home page back to the default page? In your options dialog:

You can change your home page settings back to the default by deleting all of the text in the Home Page text box or by clicking "Restore to Default". Alternatively, you can set it to '''about:home''' which would do the same thing.

According to http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11331 you clck on "Open Directory Utility" in the Network Account Server section of the Users & Groups system preferences.
However, I don't see anything of that name in the preference (running 10.8.3).
EDIT: it is in the "Login Options" section.
