Cannot enable bluetooth on Blackberry 8330...HELP!!!!

OK I have a brand new Curve 8330. I had paired it with the Plantronics Voyager headset and it has worked for a week now. Today I noticed my BT icon is not displaying so I went in and saw that Bluetooth had been enabled. Initial time into the BT options is searches for devices coming up with the "enabling bluetooth"  message. After a couple of seconds that goes away and my BT still shows as disabled.
I go through the menu options and again attempt to enable, this time as soon as I click enable the menu disappears and nothing happens.
This was working fine yesterday. Have not installed or connected it to anything else since it was last working.
Any ideas on where to go next?
Thanks,
JR

  • Cannot enable Bluetooth after v4.5 software upgrade

Hi, have upgraded to Device software v4.5 on my 8800. The paired devices were no longer there although other stuff such as address book, calendar etc where rinstalled OK. I cannot enable bluetooth, it just hangs with message "enabling bluetooth"and pulling the battery waiting a minute and then restarting does not help. Any ideas please?

I have done exactly the same thing to mine, cannot update from the O2 website, O2 are no help at all, RIM want to charge £129 +vat for repairing the phone which is just a rip off. This was a free upgrade offered and advertised by RIM which has impaired the operation of my phone what do they intend to do about it? Nothing thats what. If it wasn't for the web browsing, email and ease of use of the phone, the blackberry would be straight in the bin and replaced by a nokia, at least you get support with them.

  • 10.5.4 and bluetooth with Blackberry 8330

since performing the combo upgrade to 10.5.4 most bluetooth functions are gone with my blackberry 8330. Prior to the upgrade, I was able to transfer files. Does anyone happen to know what was changed or how to fix it?

    Update:
on a couple of occasions, I have been able to get file transfer functionality back for a short time by configuring my phone through the bluetooth preferences. However, this has only worked on occasion and cannot be consistently replicated.

  • N9: Cannot enable Bluetooth (anymore)

I bought a N9 a few weeks ago. I tried to copy my contacts via Bluetooth from my C3-01, but it would not work, as the connection could not be set up properly.
Since a week I cannot even enable Bluetooth anymore. When I choose the menu option (Settings - Bluetooth) it takes about 20 seconds and nothing happens. Then I get to the bluetooth menu, where I cannot switch it on.. It just hangs and hangs...
    Has anybody encountered this problem?

As I understand Hard Reset will remove all data, settings and application, am I right ?
Yes you are, upon N9 it is called "Clear device":
To Clear Device, do the following:
    Open “Settings”
    Tap “Reset”
    Choose “Clear Device”
Tap “Yes” to confirm the process.
This process may take up to 15 minutes depending on the data stored in the phone. You may need to wait for the process to complete. The phone will switch off and then on again.

  • Cannot enable Bluetooth on 8110

I purchased a shiny new 8110 today and immediately tried to connect to my old RAZR to transfer some pics. I was able to pair/connect but I didn't know the trick to transfer pics. Now it is later in the day and I am back to trying to connect to the RAZR again. I go to the Bluetooth options screen, go to the menu and select enable bluetooth, the splash screen pops up and says bluetooth enabled (also the title bar briefly changes to "Bluetooth: Enabled", but that last maybe 1/4 second) but the title bar still says "Bluetooth: Disabled" and I am unable to connect to the variety of Bluetooth device that I have available.
What are some tips and tricks I can try to get it to say enabled?

Go to Bluetooth Options -> select Cancel -> click Menu and select Options -> Discoveable: Yes -> press escape button and Save. Again click Menu and select Enable Bluetooth. Click Menu and select Add Device. Next time onwards you can start straight from Search for devices from here.
Now pair both the devices with a paskey. Send the content from RAZR and go to Media application on you Blackberry -> enter into desired media folder -> click Menu and select Receive using Bluetooth.

  • Cannot enable Bluetooth on 8520

    Hi Guys,
Have had my curve for a while but just got my new car kit installed.  Tried to find the device with but It won't enable Bluetooth.  It does seem to attempt because it says "enabling bluetooth" but just stops with no error message or anything.  V. strange.
Have been playing about with it for a while now but no joy... any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Caoimhe

    Hi
    1. Check if BT is available on your notebook (BT label at the bottom side must be available). If yes do follow:
    2. Put WLAN switcher to ON position.
    3. When the WLAN LED is on use FN+F8 key combination and ENABLE BT option.
After doing this new hardware will be recognized and installed. Check please document posted by deepblue.

  • Cannot enable bluetooth

I am unable to enable Bluetooth on my 24" iMac (purchased new in Mar 2009), which I'm fairly certain has Bluetooth built-in.
When I try to enable Bluetooth in the Bluetooth System Preferences, clicking on the "On" checkbox briefly shows a checkmark, but it immediately gets unchecked. The Discoverable checkbox is checked, but greyed out. The Bluetooth status icon in the menu bar simply reports "Bluetooth: Off".
I am unable to see anything of relevance in the system console logs. I have tried deleting the /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist and ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.Bluetooth.xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxx xxxxxx.plist files and rebooting. I have also tried enabling Bluetooth from a freshly created account, with identical behavior.
The Bluetooth entry in the the system profiler reports:
    Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 2.2.4f3
    Services:
    Bluetooth File Transfer:
Folder other devices can browse: ~/Public
    Requires Authentication: Yes
    State: Enabled
    Bluetooth File Exchange:
    Folder for accepted items: ~/Downloads
    Requires Authentication: No
When receiving items: Prompt for each file
    State: Enabled
    Any ideas?

Then, you have a hosed installation or a broken bluetooth radio. I get viable checkmarks in the prefPane and this in System Profiler, with bluetooth on or off:
    Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 2.2.4f3
    Hardware Settings:
    localhost:
    Address: 00-1f-5b-79-be-45

    State: Enabled
    Incoming Serial Ports:
    Serial Port 1:

    Outgoing Serial Ports:
    Serial Port 1:
    Address:
    Name: Bluetooth-Modem
    RFCOMM Channel: 0

But since no hardware is shown on your machine, its most likely a broken bluetooth radio. A trip with the iMac to the local Apple Store is suggested.

  • 8330 cannot enable bluetooth

Had the device for about 20 months and bluetooth always worked fine.  But I have not used in probably 6 months.  Went to used and I can not enable it.  It just sits there.  I have tried it from the Bluetooth icon and from the manage connection icon.  I have done dozens of battery pulls.  I downgraded the OS - no change.  Put back the latest OS and still no joy.
    The unit is fully charged.
Modified all of the options in the bluetooth icon with more battery pulls
I see a number of post on this subject and rarely do I see a sucessful result.
At 20 months, I know I probably should just go get a new unit but that is not my first choice.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

  • "User" Library in the FontBook is "Off" and I cannot enable it. Help!

Few weeks ago I decided to speed up my new Mac little bit by turning all fonts in the "User" Library "Off". Yesterday I needed some fonts which are in the User library, so I opened FontBook and tried to enable "User" library, but I could not. I cannot enable it anymore. I can click on "Enable "User"", but nothing changes. It remains with the "Off" label, and shows no fonts in it, while in reality there are 50 fonts there (~/Library/Fonts). Any ideas how to enable it again? Please help. Thanks in advance!

    Guntis Bukalders:
Unless you have a good reason for having FileVault turned on, I suggest you turn it off. I can cause a lot of grief i get a bit too much on our HDD. It utilizes your HDD space for a sparse image approximately the size of your Users Folder.
Is there a reason why you wanted it turned Font Book off?
I enabling User in the Edit menu doesn't do it try this. Shut down your computer completely. Then try starting up in Safe Mode, log in, empty Trash, retart computer and log in normally. Open Font Book and try enabling user again.
    Good luck.

I have a Blackberry 8330 and a MacBook. For some reason I started having connectivity issues. The handheld will not sync with the computer via pocketmac. I have uninstalled, etc 15 times. Please help

    Hi Peter!
I'm sorry to read that you are having issues with your Sync account.
Your best bet is to follow the steps described in this blogposts and open a bug:
    https://philikon.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/how-to-file-a-good-sync-bug/
After that, if you don't want to user Sync in your computer, you can stop it with this simple steps:
    * At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options.
    * Once the options window opens, click on the Sync tab.
    * At the bottom of the Sync tab click on '''Deactivate this Device''' link
