Cannot enable EAX in my SB Live! 24-bit Exter

Help!?I just bought my External SB and I cannot enable the EAX (or even the CMSS) fuction on it! I go to the MediaSource thing, right click on the skin and the option (Ctrl+E) to enable EAX appears on the toolbar but is blocked out of access. Also, the CMSS button on the front of the box doesn't respond. Right now, properly connected to my 7. P7800 speakers, I'm only getting bass, no tweeters. Please tell me I didn't waste $50 and hours of my time.

AFAIK the EAX effects in USB soundblasters are software-based and not included in the drivers, did you do a full installation of the extra applets of the card or went only with the drivers? I think the EAX console must be installed to enable those buttons on the CMSP.Message Edited by HSE on 2-6-200604:36 PM

  • Blue screen after installing creative soundblaster live 24-bit exter

hey, have a bit of a prob here...i get random crashes after installing my external soundcard which i've just bought...i'll get the blue screen everytime it happens but unable 2 catch the blue screen msg as it flashes for 2 secs...anywayz i'll explain my com setting...i'm using a acer travelmate 270,about 3 yrs old now...it has 3 usb . ports at the rear n i added 2 usb 2.0 slots via pcmcia card...i connect my external hard disk using the 2 usb ports at the back as port has not enuf power..so that leaves port...n the pcmcia card ports i attach a external cd burner n a usb 2.0 hub....could it be that the error msg im getting is due to the lack of current in my laptop?is there a way 2 check the power capacity on the usb ports?the blue screen has appeared numerous times alredi n is very annoying...but i managed to solve the prob though for now when i go to control panel/sounds and audio devices..then under the volume tab,i goto speaker settings/advanced/performance..in here,i lower the hardware acceleration bar to the 2nd bar n the sample rate conversion quality bar to the st bar ...the crashes haven't happenned so far....but just wanna get anyone's opinion on why the blue screen crashes happen...isit bcoz my laptop is unable 2 supply sufficient power to the external soundcard when functioning at its full capacity?(causing me 2 lower its performance via lowering the bar)any help would be much appreciated...thanx.....

Have you try installing the X2 Dual core processor driver?

  • Connection Logitech Z-680's to Creative Sound Blaster Live 24 Bit Exter

Trying to connect my Logitech Z-680?Speakers to connect to my Sound card. I can either use optical or the analog (3x 3.5mm jacks)
What is the best way to connect them? Also on the speakers depending on which cables i used, i have different effect options. If its using the analog :-6 channel directstereostereo x 2DD PL 2 MusicDD PL 2 Movie? If using optical:-StereoStereo x 2DD PL 2 MusicDD PL 2 Movie?Which should i use?for Music i will change the effect to DD PL 2 Music - so i get 5. sounds from my tracks. But which for movies? Are they're any changes that i have to make to the DVD program that i use? Also should i have CMSS on the soundblaster on or off? Thanks

I recommend using Optical (since its digital connection). (Also for to send to an external reci'ver to decode Dolby digital and DTS i beli've you need to use SPDIF (optical) out cause otherwise analog i beli've won't do it)? Those modes you?said?are up mixing modes for 2 channel sources like music?(best used with digital connections). Since movies are already 5. you don't need to use up mixing.
CMSS is for use on?analog?connections on the soundcard?only and is upmixing 2 channel?sources like music. Games i would recommend?analog since gaming can't do surround sound over digital. Depending on your DVD app wether it has SPDIF out is on the app. if its supports it should be fine.Message Edited by Stargazer on 02-24-20062:27 AM

  • P1102w cannot enable "HP WEB SERVICES" for sprintConnection error" check

I have a new printer which works fine for wifi printing but I'd like to use web printing which I beleive is called eprint.
I printed the configuration page and my firmware is 20120814
I cannot see were my printers email address is.
I navigated to the printers url and clicked on the tab "hp web services" and clicked on the green button enable but I keep getting the following error message.
    "connection error: check internet connection"
From the router I can see that both the laptop and printer are on the same network 192.168.0.??
Can you please advise I suspect I have a fault on the printer but cannot be certain what can I do, I have updated the software on my mac which is running mavericks 10.9.2 , I've even hit the update software and there is no further updates available whch should mean I have the latest software and firmware for the printer.
Please advise how I may overcome the error when there clearly is no network issue as I can get to the printer to print and go to its web pages without any issues at all?

    Hi  paz_egap,
Thank you for the thorough response, I appreciate it.
Since you have set a static ip with manual DNS servers and you are still cannot enabled the web services is the firmware up-to-date on the printer.  Please follow the steps in Getting the Firmware and Product Updates.  Once the firmware is current and the printer still has its manual ip address and manual DNS servers you should be okay to enabled the web services on the printer.
If you are still having an issue after completing the above please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region.  If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

    (hastorageplus reference)
I am able to unmonitor and monitor the resources manually. What is the cause of these WARNING messages? This from Oracle and we have yet to complete the installation of HA-Oracle. Oracle is not installed and tnsnames.ora and listener.ora is not configured. Is this the reason? If so, could someone explain why you cannot online the resource group until after the application has been installed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ryan

As the manual says for clrs create:
By default, resources are created in the  enabled  state with  monitoring enabled. so when you issue the clrg online -emM it is just simply warning you that these other resources weren't disable. Note they wouldn't have been started because the RG would have been offline.
Does that explain it? If not, ask more questions.

  • Cannot enable acrobat 8.1.3 addin in Word 2007

    Hi,
I cannot enable acrobat 8.1.3 addin in Word 2007.  In Word 2007 I go to the top left circle, word options, Add-Ins, Disabled Application Add-ins,  Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin, and then "Go".
I then see Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin is unchecked.  When I check it, it notes that "This add-in is installed for all users on this computer, and can only be connected or disconnected by an administrator".  See attached jpg for details.  Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Joe

As the instructions indicate, log in as the administrator and activate the option. If you do not have access to the administrator account, then ask your IT folks to do it for you.

  • Pooladm: cannot enable pools: No such file or directory

I'm having a problem enabling pools in Solaris 10. I used a core installation and manually installed the SUNWpool, SUNWpoolr, SUNWzoner, and SUNWzoneu packages.
When I try to execute "pooladm -e" to enable pools I get the following error:
pooladm: cannot enable pools: No such file or directory
Also, when I enable the svc:/system/pools:default service it errors into maintenance state with the same error in the log file.
I believe the problem is related to the non-existance of /dev/pool, but I'm not sure why it is not there.

  • I cannot enable find my mac

As the title says, I cannot enable find my mac, i am running 10.8.2, and cant see any updates in the app store,
I've looked up some things and I think that my recovery hd isn't up to date, there is a patch for updating you recovery hd, but only for 10.7,
Any ideas on fixing this? I read that rerunning the mountain lion install would recreate the recovery hd (question: would i lose my data?), but when i try to run it it says:
this disk isn't using guid partitionlabeling, change it with diskutility, but in diskutility i cant find a way to change this..
    thanks for the help

You have a very strange partition table because of three reasons:
It's MBR, and you need a GUID partition table.
You have the Boot Camp volume above your OS X volume.
You have three partitions on your hard disk, and Boot Camp only allows two partitions on the hard disk.
You need to erase the whole hard disk, so you have to make backups. For OS X, you can use Time Machine to back up your hard disk or you can use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a clone on an external disk. For Windows, use WinClone. You will need an external disk, so if you haven't got one, you should buy it.
Then, to install Mountain Lion, as you haven't got the Recovery HD for Mountain Lion, you can use Lion Diskmaker to copy the Mountain Lion installer onto a DVD or USB drive.
After doing all those steps, follow these ones to install Mountain Lion again on a GUID partition table.
Open Boot Camp Assistant and delete the Boot Camp partition. If it doesn't allow you, skip this step.
Insert the USB drive or DVD with Mountain Lion, press Option key while your Mac is starting and choose the DVD or USB drive with Mountain Lion.
OS X Utilities window will appear, so open Disk Utility. Here's when the fun starts.
Select your hard disk at the top of the sidebar and go to Partition tab.
On the window, choose "Options" and select GUID Partition Table. Then, press OK.
You will return to the Partition. Select each partition one by one on the bar and press - button until all disappear.
Then, press + button, choose "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" in Format and press Apply.
When it has finished, close Disk Utility and install OS X. It can take from 15 minutes to 30, depending of the disk you are using to install Mountain Lion and if you are installing it onto a HDD or SSD.
When the installation finishes, restore the backups so you will leave your Mac as it was before erasing the disk

  • Cannot enable aero after turning on (and then off) battery stretch

I have a T520 running Win7 x64. I turned on battery stretch in the power manager the other day, and after turning it off I cannot enable aero again.
I've selected an aero theme, but windows does not turn on aero.
A screenshot of my desktop settings is here - as shown I have a aero theme selected but both appearance and  properties tell me aero is disabled.
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/440/aerok.png/
I'm seeing a lot of advice on how to disable it but unsure which to follow. As this problem seems to have ben caused by the power manager I was wondering if any others had experienced this and could advise on how to fix it.

I just tried to enable and disable it and it appears it is not reproducible.
I suspect it somehow got confounded by the fact I have a few monitor configurations I use:
    1. Work - displayport to U3011 WQXGA and d-sub to a samsung UXGA
    2. Home - displayport to adapter to WFP3007 and laptop lcd as secondary screen
    3. Road - laptop lcd
I quite often change the order in which I power/suspend/resume and plug/unplug the various monitors and windows (somewhat understandably) throws a hissy fit from time to time. So I guess this was just another case of that

  • HT5594 After updating to iOS7 on my iPhone4 I cannot enable location services. How do I enable location services? I have tried turning off restrictions but that did not work.

After updating to iOS7 on my iPhone 4 I cannot enable location services. How do I enable location services? I have tried turning off restrictions but that did not work.

I finally just resolved this after not being able to enable location services since upagrading to iOS 7. Posting the solution here 'cause I couldn't find it anywhere else.
I enabled Restrictions under Settings > General > Restrictions and created a passcode (I'm not sure if this was part of the solution, but it wasn't enabled for me by default.)
In Restrictions, under Privacy, Location Services was set to "Allow Changes" (This still didn't solve the issue of the greyed-out Location Services switch though - I still couldn't turn it on.)
Also in Restrictions, I also switched "Find My Friends" to "Allow Changes"
Once I did step 3, the switch under Settings > Privacy > Location Services was no longer greyed out and could be switched on.
    Hope this helps!
