Cannot enable extension/add-ons

Every time i run Firefox it prompts me to grant the extension/add-on installation. Currently I have McAffe ScriptScan for Firefox 15.1.0 & LastPass 3.1.54 add-ons prompting for installation. When I allow the installation of these add-ons it is required that i restart firefox, so when I do, again it will ask me to allow the installation of these add-ons only now the tabs have doubled, if I continue I will be stuck in an infinite loop of this prompts.
I have tried resetting add-ons and firefox, deleting profiles creating new profiles even a fresh install of firefox after completely removing it(even the follder on \appdata\), this problem continues.
I would really appreciate a solution to this problem, since I love Firefox and this is getting very annoying.
Thank you in advance.

It's not an ideal solution, but you could download the portable version of Firefox and use that. As long as the IT guy doesn't have policies in place to prevent it from running.

I can reenable them but FF will disable them on the next startup. I uninstalled version 13 and installed version 12. Problem gone! So I'm still using version 12 and am afraid to update to version 13.
This problem began when I was trying to research and fix a problem (no history all-of-a-sudden) so it probably was something I caused. Can't recall everything I did though.
So: Does the addon problem I described have a solution? If so, I'll update my version 12 to version 13. Please respond.....

  • My firefox version is 3.6.12, however I cannot download any add-ons cause it says I am still using version 2, and it is the same for website such as youtube where it is always saying I am using a outdated browser. How do I solve this?

I keep updating my firefox whenever it prompts me to, and now I am using version 3.6.12, but I still cannot download any add-ons or have problem using youtube cause they still says I am using a older version of the browser.

  • When "reset" used-are the EXTENSION add-ons saved-not plugins

Started Firefox and a pop up from Mozilla asked if I wanted to speed up starting time because it was slow opening. There was a suggestion to use reset. I already knew that feature was available but I didn't want to set it to "factory settings" when I have very many extension addons, the options are set like I want, and the program runs fine after it starts. I didn't see where "extension add-ons" were kept inside the profile. I want to know if all the EXTENSION ADD_ONS are saved anywhere, or will I have to find and reinstall all of them again??

Did you try the suggestions here?

When you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved to the desktop to an "Old Firefox Data" folder.
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.
It is possible to recover data from the old profile, but be cautious to avoid carrying over problems.

  • Extensions (Add-ons) shown in Extension manager are not in Photoshop cc 2014

I started with Photoshop cc and downloaded several Add-ons which I used, particularly Adobe Watermark. When Photoshop cc 2014 was released we realised that the majority of these Add-ons would not work in this new edition of Photoshop. Consequently I have to also run Photoshop cc as well to allow me to use these Add-ons.
If I open Adobe Extension Manager, and select under Products I see a list of all the Add-ons that work in Photoshop cc, which is correct. However if I select Photoshop cc 2014 I see a long list ( 16 Add-ons) which have enabled ticked by the side of the name. Only 5 of these actualy show  in Photoshop cc 2014, so something is wrong here.
I assume that Adobe Watermark is an Adobe product, so when are Adobe going to sort this out, and the problem in Adobe Extension Manager?

Flash based extensions are not supported by PS CC 2014 anymore. Please refer to http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotcom/2014/04/photoshop-spring-cleaning.html, http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2014/06/installing-the-2014-release-of-creative-cloud.html

If some extensions are not supported by PS CC 2014, you have to continue to use them in PS CC until their HTML based counterparts become available.

My add-ons have been disabled, i can enable some but the most important ones will not let me becuase it says All add-ons have been disabled by safe mode? How do i turn off safe mode?

Make sure that you do not press the Shift key if you start Firefox.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

  • Cannot install some add-ons

I am running latest Aurora (8.0a2), though this problem also existed in 7.0a2. I have the Add-On Compatibility Reporter extension installed, so I should be able to install add-ons for older versions of Firefox, and I can.
However, some add-ons do not install. (Three that I have tried are WebRunner, the AdBlock Plus Element Hiding Helper, and Open IT Online.) The little bubble that pops up says that it is downloaded. If I go to about:addons, the status of installation is given as "Verifying," though nothing ever happens. If I restart Aurora and try to install again, I get a message that the add-on is corrupt and could not be installed.
What can I do to fix this?

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
*Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • I by mistake chose to insall the weather app for Firefox on Apple iMac. I cannot uninstal from add ons since firefox crashes before then. Unable to use Firefox in safe mode. Help!

Basically I recently installed Firefox 3.6 on my Mac Laptop, only 3-4 months old, so latest Sea Leopard OSX System whatever
Anyway once installed I decide to have a theme, then add some add on applications. This seems to be the problem
When I first tried to run it all the apps opened home pages and I kept trying to close them as they did
Next time I got less pages but then I could not access the Tools>AddOns menu before the Firefox browser crashed
What seems to be happening is that the Weather app takes forever to load, my Apple Mac goes into the circle (thinking) mode which means I cannot activate any menus or move my mouse. Then by the time I try and type in say google in the blank www URL address the browser crashed. I have tried going into safe mode using the Option but makes no difference
If I can somehow instal the irksome weather app or get access to the Tool >Add ons menu and uninstall each of the several apps I have daftly installed I know I can get a solution
Any help or suggestions appreciated since I still think Firefox is cool:-). its the apps or some of them that suck!

Maybe you did't understand my previous statement. There are no crashes in FF 3.6, There is no previous evidence FF 14 was ever here, I completely uninstalled all trace of Firefox, no app data, no preferences, no cache. I will upgrade to FF14 so I can send IDs,

  • I'm running Firefox 3.6.10 on Windows 7. For several days now I cannot access the "Add-ons" in the Tools menu. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Charles

Every time I try to access Add-ons, Firefox freezes and I get an "unresponsive script" warning that states, "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding . . ." The script in question is nsExtensionManager.js:623. I reinstalled Firefox, but that didn't help.

  • Extensions/add ons not appearing in photoshop cc2014

    Hi,
I've been downloading add ons/ extensions especially for photoshop and i'm not able to see ANY of them in the window-->extensions submenu.
Does someone have the same problem?
    Thanks

Are you sure the extensions you have download are versions for CC 2014.  Adobe removed Flash Panel support in CC 2014 many extensions developed for Photoshop CC and prior used Flash Panels they needed to be update to use html panels in CC 2014.
