Cannot ENABLE SharePoint Integration.

Our organization has a Sharepoint 2013 deployment and uses Acrobat Pro XI.  We use document libraries with with check in/check out and verioning enabled.  When opening a PDF from within a library, the document opens in Acrobat without issue but we do not receive any prompts to check the document out.  This prevents us even from manually checking out the document in sharepoint, opening the document, saving the document back to sharepoint because Acrobat tries to save it to a local AppData Temp directory.   I've seen a thousand answered posts about how to DISABLE SharePoint integration, but I'm just looking to get this functionality in the first place.  The problem could be related to a SharePoint setting but I cannot cind such a setting.  Our office documents prompt for checkout when opened as they should - Just not PDFs.
***Some additional information:  From Acrobat, if I click  File>Open, then select "open from online account"  and connect to my sharepoint server I can check in and out, but some of our libraries are over 9GB and cause Acrobat to crash every time I try to open the library, so this is apparently not an option for us (although it would be nice!!!).
Thanks!

SharePoint integration is of course supported as indicated by all the documentation, and it does work for most customers. Troubleshooting the problem here is more complex than other issues because it involves integrating two enterprise products and working with files across a network. There are literally thousands of possible environments and factors which could affect the functionality. It's difficult to fix issues that can't be reproduced internally.
While it looks like some of the issues above have found solutions, the original one has not for some users. More environment details may be required. Here are some troubleshooting steps to double check first:
Have an admin configure the server and clients as specified in the Admin Guide.
Use a supported browser.
Enable the "Adobe Acrobat Sharepoint OpenDocuments Component" and "Adobe PDF Reader" add-ins in IE.
Verify this folder exists on the server: %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\<version>\TEMPLATE\XML
Verify Doclcon.xml exists in the above location.
Verify this line is correct: <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="icpdf.png" EditText="Acrobat Reader" OpenControl="AdobeAcrobat.OpenDocuments" OpenApp="AcroRd32"/>
Determine if the problem affects all users or some users. The former would likely indicate a server issue while the latter points to a client-side issue.
Verify you have write permissions to any location the Acrobat product or SharePoint needs to write to.
If you can't edit a PDF, check its security properties via Open File > Properties > Security.
If clicking on a PDF document in a SharePoint library shows the error "There was an error opening this document. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.", then update SharePoint. See the Microsoft Technet Forum:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointgeneral/thread/49aed23c-cf9c-43 39-8c17-ff1df65649a6/.
If the "Check Out and Open" PDF files in document libraries menu item is not present, make sure the latest is SharePoint update is not the March cummulative update for SP 2013. Microsoft confirmed a bug in that update. See https://forums.adobe.com/message/6579072#6579072

  • SSRS Sharepoint Integrated Mode logs - Cannot find site lookup info for request Uri AND [Forced due to logging gap]

    Hi,
Our reports run very slow in SharePoint Integrated mode. I look at the logs and I see that for one report request there are bunch of "Forced due to logging gap" rows. Is it some kind of a configuration issue or is it working as it should. Below
is the full log for one report request. I have no admin experience at all and I am confused what each one in the logs mean. I have made some of them in bold font as I suspect it is some kind of configuration issue there. Could you please help understanding
    those logs?

    Thank you.

That is likely the case as native mode is quicker than SharePoint-integrated.
A couple of things to check, and perhaps change if you can:
    1) Make sure the latest SSRS ReportViewer is deployed to the SharePoint WFEs. This does not have to match your SSRS deployment version. See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg492257.aspx
    for the compatibility table.
    2) If possible, move SSRS to the same SharePoint servers that end users interact with (e.g. the "WFEs").
    3) Make sure the underlying server hosting SharePoint has C-States disabled (these are Intel C-States, e.g. C1, C2, C3... aka processor sleep states). If the server has any sort of power regulation, make sure it is at maximum performance (rather than some
    form of power saving).
    4) Make sure the underlying Windows OS has it's Power Management set to Maximum, rather than any sort of power savings.
You can review the execution logs in the Reporting Services database. Take a look at the ExecutionLog3 view. Compare the TimeProcessing (time it takes to process the report) and TimeRendering (time it takes for the processed report to render to the end user).

    Hi
Did you receive any error message when you try to open the documents?
We recommend you start your Internet Explorer in compatibality mode, and follow the advice in the article below:

  • Urgent Please: Cannot publish Reports to the Sharepoint Integrated - Reporting Services Login

    Hi,
    Sharepoint 2010 / SQL Server 2008 R2
The user I am using in BIDS to deploy the reports has Admin permission to the site collection and databases.
Reporting Services Login prompt all times and I can´t go ahead to publish the reports.
I ve reviewed my deployment properties -
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb283155(SQL.90).aspx
The same test works to my dedicated server (Sharepoint and SQL Server in the same machine) but not to the enviorement bellow:
Server 1 - SSED, SSAS, SSRS, Sharepoint Web Front (minimal installation)
Server 2 - Sharepoint Server 2010 (SSRS Sharepoint Integration Mode)
I´ve read all the discussions and articles I couldn´t find anything conclusive.
    Please, any clues?!
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex Berenguer

Hi Syed, thank you so much for your help. I have already spent many hours in order to solve this issue but nothing so far.
The Web Application I created to test it has a Business Intellicente Center as Site Collection. The Report Services features is running on it. I checked it. Thanks.
Follow more details I ´ve discovered:
    Here's the scenario:
I have a Web Front End (WFE) server, and an Application Server (AS) in a Sharepoint 2010 Farm.  The configuration database, content database, etc.. are located on a clustered SQL 2008 R2 instance on another set of machines.  I have installed SQL
2008 R2 Reporting Services w SP1 on the AS.  I have installed the SQL 2008 Reporting Services Add-In for Sharepoint 2010 on the WFE.  I have gone through all the configuraiton settings, set the SPNs for the service accounts, etc... The Excel Services
with external data, for example, is working fine.
When the reporting services integration is set to "Trusted Account", I can deploy reports to the server with no problem, EXCEPT that I can't deploy data sources that use "Windows Authentication" as their credentials, which is desirable for our implementation.
When I switch the reporting services instance to "Windows Authentication", I can no longer deploy projects to the report server.  When I go to deploy the reports, I continually get a "Reporting Services Login" prompt, showing the server it is being deployed
to, and requesting a username and password.  No combination of username and password works.
Here's a fun little bit for you too, if I continue to try to login to the server, I will eventually (after hitting the GPO threshold) lock out my account from Active Directory.  This I found out after nearly creating a set of tracks down my scalp all
day today trying to figure out what was happening to my sharepoint sites while I was debugging this....
So it seems that it is trying to authenticate my login credentials through BIDS, but is unable to do so.
Also, when I attempt to "Manage Datasource" directly through the Sharepoint interface I am getting 401 errors.
    I appreciate any assistance.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Report Builder 3.0 launch issue in SharePoint Integration mode

    Hello,
I'm facing issue when opening the report builder 3.0 tool. Report server is configured in SharePoint Integration mode. I already have the FQDN configured for report server and in SharePoint (AAM) but still it fails when the end user is trying to access
    the report builder 3.0.
    Just to brief on the instance setup;
    SQL box setup
    1. Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard/Enterprise edition with latest service packs and updates
    2. SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition with all features except Reporting Services installed and configured
    3. SQL Engine and Agent are configured in service account (domain account)
    Web box Setup
    1. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard/Enterprise edition with latest service packs and updates
    2. IIS enabled with all the features
    3. SharePoint Foundation 2010 with SP2 installed in advanced mode and the database server is mentioned as above
    4. Farm is configured with domain account (farm account)
    5. Default site is configured with domain account (site account)
    6. Authentication used for default site is NT domain accounts
    7. AAM is setup for default site to use the FQDN (server.domain.com)
    8. SQL reporting services is installed (only) with service account (same account used which is configured in the SQL engine and agent in database server)
    9. Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint Foundation 2010 is installed
    10. Reporting Services is configured to use the FQDN, email settings is configured
    11. SharePoint Foundation 2010 is configured to use the Reporting Services (General Application Settings) by granting the access to database, integration the report server URL with windows authentication (used the SQL reporting services service account)
    12. Report Web services when clicked, open the Reporting Services window properly where it shows the SharePoint default site URL and on click shows the proper folders configured for use for reporting services
    13. Report Builder launch URL is specified as /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0).application
    14. IIS restart done, SQL Reporting Services restart done, even web server reboot done
    15. When supplied the URL in browser as
http://server.domain.com/_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0).application it start the clickonce window but after this immediately throws the error message as below.
    16. Also, I tried to open the Report Builder 1.0
http://server.domain.com/_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder.application it fails with same error message.
    17. After debugging several times, I am unable to resolve the issue.
    18. I tried re-installing the Reporting Services (first uninstalled, then reboot, then folder cleanup, then install Reporting Services) but no hopes and the issues remains same as "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."
    19. Also, I tried with the fresh machine, wiped out the VM, installed OS, IIS, SharePoint Foundation 2010, SQL Reporting Services, etc. again no luck, the issue remains same as "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."

I have resolved this issue as it was mainly due to the integration of reporting services to SharePoint Foundation.

  • Dropdown list is cut off in reporting service (SharePoint Integration Mode)

We have a report running in SharePoint integration mode and we have a set of parameters. But the last parameter (near the bottom of the browser) with drop down list cannot be displayed completely.
    Kevin Li

    Hi KevinLi,
According to your description, the last parameter in your parameter drop down list is not completed displayed. Right?
In Reporting Services, when having too many available values which will exceed the report parameter drop down list area, it suppose to generate scrolling bar for selecting. In this scenario, it seems those available values just end at the bottom of
the browser and exceed a little bit. But it can't trigger generating scrolling bar. However, it think you can select the last value successfully. So it doesn't effect your using too much. If you really need to display all values in parameter drop
down list, you can try to change the resolution of your screen.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • CANNOT Enable TURBO MEMORY For T400

    Hi there,
I am a user of Thinkpad T400. The machine came with 2G turbo memory, but I cannot enable it in the 'Intel Turbo Memory Console', any advice?
    Thanks in advance.

The screenshot shows the option to enable the TurboMem is blanked off. Have you tried starting the application as administrator. You then might have the option available.
Could also check what is driver version of the application.
You can check that by clicking "Help" tab followed by "About" in the Turbo Memory Console. Intel has released new driver ver 1.7. Driver ver (1.7.0.1029). I upgraded it from the Intel site, a few days ago, and it seems to work better than the previous driver.
The drivers available with Lenovo are old.

  • Can I use RS.exe to create the folders in Sharepoint-Integrated Reporting service?

    Hello All,
Recently, I am using rs.exe and .rss files to publish my reports to SharePoint-Integrated Reporting Service.
The outstanding issue is, it cannot create non-existing folders for me automatically. I have to created the folder manually.
Thinking BIDS "Deploy" function can make folder creating happen, why the RS.exe doesn't support so?
Does anyone know how to change .rss and rs files to make folders creating automatically.
E.g. If I pass in "ParentFolder" and it doesn't exist on SharePoint, then RS.exe can create the folder first then deploy the RDL files under that folder.
    Derek

    Hi Derek,
In SSRS, we can use .rss files to publish our reports to a new folder. Please refer to the following script:
Dim definition As [Byte]() = Nothing
Dim warnings As Warning() = Nothing
Dim destinationFolder As String = "DemoReports"
Dim reportsTargetPath As String = "/" + destinationFolder
Dim reportsSourcePath As String = "C:\Demo"
Dim datasourceName As String = "DataSource1"
    ‘Create the destination Folder
    Try
    rs.CreateFolder(destinationFolder,”/”, Nothing)
Console.WriteLine("Parent folder {0} created successfully", destinationFolder)
    CreateReportDataSource(datasourceName, "SQL", "Data Source=.;Initial Catalog= AdventureWorksDW2012")
    Catch e As Exception
    Console.WriteLine("Tasks completed successfully.”)
    End Try
You can refer to the script in the following blog.

  • Sharepoint Integration with SAP and Logistic

Currently we have been integrating our .net server with SAP and all the project management and document management are stored in Sharepoint.. this is for a logistic company that we have been working with last 3 years.. we would like to make sure any data
points \integration points that should be considered with SAP during the integration
    thanks -Pal

    Hi,
As I understand, you want to integrate SharePoint with SAP.
SAP SharePoint integration enables frequent interaction with SAP processes, which means that systems are constantly being updated with newer, more relevant data. This timely interaction helps ensure the reliability of business information, and strategic
decision-makers can depend on “one version of the truth” regarding the performance and deployment of the company’s global workforce. There is three methods combining SAP and SharePoint: SAP BI Connector, Duet Enterprise for Microsoft SharePoint
and SAP, SAP Netweaver Gateway Productivity acceletor for Microsoft.

  • Adobe SharePoint Integration

Working in a secure environment, the Internet Access and Weblink plugin has been disabled. Would this prevent the SharePoint Integration option under File to show? If so which of the two directly affects SharePoint. The option to integrate is needed to update PDF files on the SharePoint server. Currently, we cannot do so and proper documentaion is needed to show why. We are currently running Adobe Reader X 10.1.5.33.

You need to re-direct this to the Adobe Acrobat forum:

  • Questions on SAP BI and SharePoint integration

    Hi all,
I was looking into how we can integrate SAP BI with our SharePoint server.
Does anyone has got exposure to this type of integration? Is there anyway that we can achieve this integration using SAP Business Objects or Performance Points?
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Kukku

    Hi all,
We would like to get some thoughts on SharePoint integration with SAP BI.Could you please help us in solving the following questions:
    1. Which one is better? SharePoint integration through PerformancePoint Server 2007 or SAP Business Objects(SAP BO XI integration kit)?
    2. What are the starting point(system requirements)  to develop a prototype on both the methods?
I was able to find some info on both PPS and SAP Business Objects from the above link and also from sdn documents(those were really helpful, thanks!) but none of them provide some detailed insight into which one to opt for or how you can goahead. If someone has got more info on this please let us know.
    Thanks
