Cannot enable web printing on my photosmart 310a

I have not been able to enable web printing from the day I took this printer out the box. When I touch the ePrint icon to enable it says cannot enable. It also says I am not connected, which I know I am because I have been able to ePrint from day one and it tells me in connection I am connected to my router. Can someone tell me how to enable web printing so I can get my email address from the sheet it prints out?  Thank you.

Hello Grace-in-BC,
Welcome back to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to help out in anyway I can regarding the network issues with the 7525. The results of the network test that state all pass is referring to the connection to the network only, not the ability for the printer to access the Internet.
The typical cause of this Internet connection issue is the DNS. Which DNS info have you used?
I have found the best DNS's to use are the Level3 and Google, from this web site: Free and Public DNS Servers

  • LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw, Can't Enable Web Printing

I have tried using the machine to enable web printing as well as using the computer and typing in ip address.  No matter which way I go I cannot enable web printing on my laserjet pro mfp m127fw.  I am connected to the net.  Can access the internet on other devices.  So there should be no issues there.  Is something wrong with the machine or is there something I can try?  Of course we are NOW ready to start using this feature after having the machine for a while so I hope there is not something wrong with the machine.
    Thank you!

    Hi @mdandy,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are getting a connection error message when trying to enable the web services for your Laserjet M127fw printer.
Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure how to check I have included the Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates document to assist you.
Once you are up-to-date with the firmware, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found in the Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection document. For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers.
Please let me know how things go.

  • HP Photosmart Plus B210 connects to network but cannot enable Web Services

I am on my second HP Photosmart Plus B210 and neither printers have been able to enable Web Services.
When I try to connect I get "Cannot Connect to Server".
I have had my computer, router and printer settings checked by HP Support desk.
I have changed my IP Settings to manual and set up DNS settings as per the Network Config report.
I can print without connecting with a USB cable and I can see the printer on my internet browser but for some reason this printer cannot download Product Updates or enable Web Services.
In desperation, I have got another router - a BT Home Hub 2.0 (which I had spare) and tried this in case my Netgear DG834G Router was causing the problem but this has not changed / helped my problem.  I still cannot enable Web Services.
Do I take up HP's offer of a 3rd printer?

Yeah, it is worth a try.  I had my HP rep get me one ASAP...but its still silly on HP's part.
Its like selling you a car and saying, "Oh but if you want to use the radio, you have to buy this remote for it because the keypad on the stereo we provide does not work"  .. "Oh and we dont include the special remote with the car"...
That's just not worthy of the brand "HP"

  • Cannot enable web services

I have a recently bought (22/01) B110 and it has setup easily, and connected to the network easily, but I cannot enable web services, it comes up with 'Server Connection Error' nothing else, I have also tried updating the firmware for the printer but it comes up with an identical message

Try these steps  and check if printer connects to Web Services or not:
    1) Turn OFF the wireless radio
    2) Perform Restore Network defaults from the printer menu
    3) Turn OFF the printer and unplug the power cable from the back. Wait for 5 min
    4) Reconnect the power cable and turn ON the printer
    5) Run the wireless setup wizard from the printer menu.
    6) check if you are able to print and scan
    7) "Remove Web Services" from the printer menu and wait for 2 minutes
    8) "Enable Web Services" from the menu and wait.
This should print a page automatically.

  • Cannot enable web services to get printer onto ePrint

Got a new Photosmart 7520 and got it onto our wireless network alright. But I cannot enable on the printer the web services (always jumps to automatic software updates and fails to connect; and hence cannot enable ePrint or web services.
Also typing in the IP Address into my browser gives me only a blank page...
What to do and where? on the printer or Mac (OSX 10.9)?
    Thanks for the help
      Max

    Hi Max4Print,
    Thank you for the update.
Yes you should be able to ping the printer.  That is the best way to check the communication.  I have included wikiHow’s article on How to Ping an IP Address.  It has a section on how to do this on a Mac. I’m wondering if you have a guest network and if the printer is connected to that.  Typically when you can’t access the embedded web server it would indicate that one of the devices is showing connected when it isn’t.
If the ping fails, I would recommend rerunning the wireless setup wizard from the front panel.  The instructions on how to do this can be found on page 48 of your User Guide in the section titled “To connect the product with the Wireless Setup Wizard”.   Once you have run the wireless setup wizard chose the option to print the report.

    Hello Hanovarian,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you are getting an unable to connect message when you try to enable the web services on your Photosmart 6520 printer.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers.  I’ve included another post that has the instructions and screen shots.  It’s for the Photosmart 7510 printer but the steps are the same.

  • Cannot enable web services on CM1415fnw MFP

I am unable to Enable web services on my printer either via the printer or the HP web services button when opened via the IP address on a computer.
I have looked at many of the solutions on the HP support and on the forum and nothing works for me. I have upgraded the firmware to the latest version -20120216.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled  the  printer software on the PC disconnected and re-connected the wirelesss connection to the router. switchwed off the printer and the router and left them to discharge any held information and I have checked and set the IP address manually.  The printer is connected to the router ( Netgear WNDR330) and appears as a connected device on it. It is visible and avbailable on the network and all computers on the network can see and print with it  My phone and tablet all connect to the internet without problem via the router but not the printer.
Anybody got any solution? I am going crazy and have run out of thgings to try

    Hi lpihome; sorry to learn that you are having this issue;
If you are using win xp or later try this tool GO HERE
Another thing I will try is to disable all security applications including Win Firewall and try again to see if any of them is blocking a process. Make sure that ports 5222, 5223 443 and 80 are open and allowed. Are you using Google public DNS server this server have helped some members to fix several connectivity issues.

  • Cannot do wireless printing to HP Photosmart C7180 since upgrading to Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I recently upgraded one of my new HP p6150t Pavillion PCs from Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  Since then I have not been able to print to my networked printer, an HP Photosmart C7180 All-in-One, which is wireless on my home network. When this PC was Vista, I was able to print. Two other PCs on my home network, both running XP, can access the printer across the network and print.  This PC now running Windows 7 64-bit can find the networked printer when I "Add-a-printer", and I am able to finish the installation of the printer.
I downloaded and installed new drivers for the HP C7180 from the HP website specifically for Windows 7 64-bit, so I have the latest drivers. (The version of the drivers is 13.1.0, date is 10-2009. From the same HP printer driver download site, I also installed " HP Print Software Patch When Upgrading Vista to Windows 7".
I do not want to install the printer as a shared device on any of the other PCs, but rather want to be able to print from any of them, direct wirelessly, even if the other PCs are offline.  And I was able to do this when I used Vista...
If I open and leave visible the print queue for the printer, and then print a Test Page, I see the print job briefly shown as "Spooling" and then as "Printing" in the print queue display, but nothing ever reachs the printer. There are no error messages, either during the process of Adding the Printer, or when sending Test Pages, or other print jobs to the printer.
I have McAfee antivirus and Firewall installed on all of my PCs. The Firewall advanced setting for Networks shows that the IP address range for all of my IPs are trusted.
[Although I just bought this PC from hp.com only 4 months ago, as part of a package of 2 PCs, a MediaSmart server, big hdtv monitor, and all with 4 year extended support agreements, HP provides "NO" support for network printing. That was what a support specialist called to tell me after I sent an email to the HP CEO.  HP PCs, HP printer, HP provided upgrade kit for Windows 7, but if you want to actually print from your HP PC to your HP printer, there is "NO" support.  (I worked for HP for ten years, but it is clearly a different company now.)  So, if anyone in the Community can assist, I would very much appreciate it.]

I have a year old Epson and an HP.. I upgraded to a win 7 64 bit and doing some sharing/networking.. Got some 32 bit XPand two win 7 64 bit..   The Epson ,shares and connects up  with no issues.. the HP is just a fiasco...   No more HP for me ...

  • I can use everything on my 8600 plus printer except enable web print. is the printer no good?

    Hp Officejet 8600 plus
    Vista 32 bit
    Cannot connect to the server.
Check the Internet connection and try again. Or contact your system administrator or the person who set up the printer.
If your network requires a proxy server address to connect to Internet, click Enter Proxy or check your browser settings.
Installed drivers. everything else is working fine via wifi
I cannot get my web services to connect i keep getting that message. I have tried to troubleshoot it numerous ways. power reset while it was on, static ip, etc out of ideas

    HI incrulk,
What kind of router do you have ?
You mentioned that you set a static IP, did you do this from the front panel of the printer or from the EWS ( printer page on the computer)? If you did it from the webpage did you change the primary and alternate DNS that was on the same page ?
What I would suggest is to go back to the Static IP page by putting your printers IP address in your address browser and click on Networking at the top. Then go to the left side of the page and click on IPV4 under wireless or you might see Networking again on the bottom left. This should bring you to the manual and automatic settings. On the DNS section in the preferred DNS put in the single number 8 in each of the four boxes(It will look like this 8.8.8.8). In the alternate DNS insert the number 8 in the first two and then then number 4 in the third and fourth ( it will look like this 8.8.4.4).
If you have trouble or need clarity just ask me or you can check this post out from Jon-W.
After you apply these changes power cycle the printer and try to enable the web services again.
Let me know what happens after this. We can get this working for you.

    Hi Catjoy36,
Thanks for the reply.  It looks like we're going to have to complete some more steps.  Follow the steps below and once the steps are completed then you can follow the steps above.
    1.  Go to the front panel of your printer.
    2.  Select the wireless icon on your printer.
    3.  Select Settings.
    4.  Scroll and select restore network defaults.
    5.  Select Ok to restore defaults.
    6.  Now select wireless and go through the wireless setup wizard.
Let me know how it goes.

  • HP8600 Scan Network Folder stops working to Win XP Pro whenever Web Printing is enabled

I have my HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g configured to allow scan to Network Folder with shares on two of my home computers. One runs Win 7 Professional (64b), the other runs Win XP Professional. On the printer's Embedded Web Server, I confirmed that Scan to Network Folder was operational for both systems using the "Scan" tab's "Network Folder Setup " links named "Test" for each device.
Then I enabled Web Printing from the 8600 front panel and returned to the Embedded Web Server to repeat the Network Folder Setup Tests. The test with Win 7 Pro passed, but the test with Win XP failed.
I then went back to the printer and disabled Web Printing, then returned to the Embedded Web Server for a third round of tests. This time both Win 7 and Win XP passed the Network Folder Setup tests, as they did before I enabled Web Printing.
Is this an expected behavior? If so, is the restriction when using Web Printing due to one system running XP Pro or to my having Scan to Network folders set up for two systems?
    Thanks
    Dave

Is there a registry change I can make to redirect the path from the local C' to the UNC path?
    Please type

  • Can't enable web services for groups (wiki) in WGM

I'm having trouble creating a wiki on my server. More specifically, in WGM, I cannot enable web services for a group. The pull-down menu is accessible, but the only option is "(None)."
I have users and groups set up in OD (they are not local).
I have a working default web page.
I have web services enabled in Server Admin.
I can create and access user blogs.
My user and group folders are on a raid drive instead of the main drive - I'm wondering at this point if there's a problem with a folder name or permissions. WGM just doesn't seem to recognize that there's a site on my server.
