Cannot end phone calls by using the END button, have re formatted for new phone 2 times, works for a short time and then stops working again have also re set Network settings Have contacted Apple and was told to re format as new phone which I did, still does not work long.

I read your post, and it sounds as though you'd like to learn how to silence your device. I have linked to an article that will instruct you on how to do that:

Adjusting the Volume
When you're on the phone or listening to songs, movies, or other media, the buttons on the side of iPhone adjusts the audio volume. Otherwise, the buttons control the volume for the ringer, alerts, and other sound effects.
To adjust the volume, use the buttons on the side of iPhone.
Flip the Ring/Silent switch to change between ring and silent modes.
When set to ring mode, iPhone plays all sounds. When set to silent mode, iPhone doesn't ring or sound any alerts or sound effects (alarms set using Clock do sound). By default, when you get a call, iPhone vibrates whether it's set to ring or silent mode.
If iPhone is set to ring mode, you can silence a call by pressing the Sleep/Wake button or one of the volume buttons once. Press a second time to send the call to voicemail.

The same thing is happening with my wife's iPhone 4 and we can't figure it out. When placing a call, the screen freezes and she needs to restart the entire phone.
She upgraded to 5.01 this morning over the air while it was plugged in. Immediately afterwards, this problem started happening. We've tried restarting the phone several times and plugged in to iTunes but there's nothing she can do do to fix it.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I cannot recieve phone calls, SMS after 3.0 and credit is being eaten

On wednesday, like most iPhone users, i was waiting for 3.0, finally when it came i downloaded and everything seemed fine. But since then, i cannot recieve phone calls, nut sometimes i get the odd random phone call, SMS are extremely delayed or they dont even come at all. I've been looking at other forums for help. I have changed settings numerous times and i can recieve calls and SMS but i keep getting this message saying that i need 17p for internet roaming. I have never had this before. Long story short, got my iPhone for christmas, i used my old sim, mum used the other sim. Can anyone help me please?

yes. I've tried to reset and reboot 4 times since updating. Although, i've just posted in another thread a bit more relevant and it mentioned Push causing problems. Although mine was on (and always is) but is set to manual, (so you'd think it was like having it switched off). Anyway, i've switched Push to OFF (Settings> Mail, Contacts Calendar > Fetch New Data) and it seems to have solved it for now. How odd. Test this by noting exactly where in your house that this takes place and also where it does NOT. Repeat until you have a "Map" of the good and bad spots.
You cannot do much about the cellular signal but may be able to troubleshoot the interference problem. This document talks about Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but the "Sources" might also apply to your cellular signal problem - radio waves are radio waves.

i have an iPhone 5.
i Am unable to receive phone calls or text messages when my screen is locked. When I unlock the screen the missed call doesn't even appear so I have no idea anyone has called me. Text messages come through at about 12:30am every night.
i Have tried EVERYTHING I could find in forums and Apple trouble shooting. This is my last resort other than sending it to Apple.
iit is as if "do not disturb" is stuck on, but it isn't.
i Have tried:
changing all all do not disturb settings.
checked call forwarding etc.
checked mute
my silent button is not on.
i have reset every setting and then even reset the phone and manually transferred everything back onto it rather than restore It from previous back ups.
oout it in recovery mode.
i Have no success with any.
the weird part is when I first lock the screen and try to call it, it does ring. But if I give it a minute or more it won't ring.
does anyone have any ideas or anything that may help?

Check with the carrier. Phone calls are their function. Have them check your account.
You can also check your phone to make sure that the Mute switch is not on, and that you have a ringtone set for phone calls.

I am having the same problem. Very disappointed. This happened with the beta 3 version and I uninstalled and reverted back to iOS6. This is a huge problem not just a minor big and a fix needs to be sent out ASAP. I assumed once I upgraded to final iOS7 release this would be fixed.
The problem is you don't get a missed notification and the only way you know if someone has called is if they live voicemail.
It's sporadic and a cause for headache due to missing important calls. Please assure us this will be fixed and how soon.

What is a sure way to use FaceTime when cannot use phone call to do it?

There are situations where one person is in USA, and one person is in Asia, and both iPhone 4 have WiFi, but one of them cannot make or receive phone calls.
If using iPod touch, then there is a Facetime app to log in and other people using iPhone 4 or iPod touch can try to use that Apple ID to connect to you.
But what if both are iPhone 4? There is no FaceTime app (unlike on the iPod touch), so what is a sure way to make FaceTime connection? One person has Apple ID of [email protected] but when using the email app, the email is [email protected] Must another account be added for the email app for [email protected] or somehow add the appropriate App ID to that iPhone 4 -- how would that be done? No such feature is built directly into any iPhone. There are some third-party apps in the app store that "claim' to provide this functionality, but all have terrible reviews. Get a Google Voice number & you can record calls.

Can't end phone calls...ocasionally

So I've had a weird thing happen on my iphone 5 lately, and I've only noticed it since updating to the newest ios update. 3 times now I've been on a phone call, and when I'm trying to hang up, I'm pressing the red end call circle, and nothing happens. It's like the phone isnt registering my touch, so I can't end the call. Anyone else have this happen? Of course I try rebooting the phone, but it's such a sporatic thing and I can only test when I'm ending a phone call.
