Cannot enter passcode because of voice over

My son turned voice over on and now he cant enter the passcode to get it unlocked.

First try double tapping with three fingers to turn VO off .  Then go to Settings>General>Accessibility and really turn off VO.
Yu can alos turn it off in iTunes by connect the iPod to the computer and going to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes.  Click on Configure Universal Access and turn off VO.

  • HT1212 My screen is cracked cannot enter passcode to unlock and backup, what do I do?

My screen is cracked, cannot enter passcode to unlock phone. Need to back up phone before switching to new phone. Anyone know how?

Backups need to occur before catastrophes.  They cannot occur after a catastrophe.
Take your iPhone to an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center for advice how to proceed.

  • HT1212 my screen is dead.  How can i get my stuff off if i cannot enter passcode?

My screen is dead.  Dropped.  I got a new phone.  I want to get all the pictures off the old phone.  I logged into Itunes and it states that I need to enter the passcode.  I know the passcode but due to the screen being dead, I cannot enter it.

iTunes does not handle the import of photos/videos from the iPhone's camera roll.
This means you have not synced the iPhone with iTunes since enabling or changing the passcode lock. How come? You are in trouble since you will not be able to sync with iTunes but you should be able to import photos from the camera roll.

  • My phone is frozen because of voice over

Please help! I turned on voice over by mistake. Now I cannot log in. I turned off the phone completely, but it didn't work either.

To navigate the phone you will need to double-tap anywhere that you would otherwise single-tap. You swipe with 3 fingers to scroll.
You can also connect the phone to your computer, click on its name in iTunes, then click the Configure Accessibility... button in iTunes.

  • IOS 6.0.1 iphone 3gs cannot enter passcode after reboot

With iOS 6.0.1 installed on my iphone 3gs (A1303), the first enter passcode screen that appears after a reboot (power off, then power on) will not allow a passcode to be entered.
Workaround:  turn off (not power off), then turn back on.  The second time the enter passcode screen is displayed after power on, it accepts a passcode.
This must be a bug in iOS 6.  How can a bug that requires zero steps after power on get through Apple QA?

So, was there a tech support question that, we, the other users on the forum could help you with?

  • Cannot enter passcode: keypad icons too large

When I went to use my iPhone 5S, I discovered the icons were enormous! Due to the huge size, I was unable to negotiate to the Settings menu, so I tried restarting the phone, thinking that might solve the problem. It did not.
Of course, I have to re-enter my passcode, and due to the huge size of the keypad icons, I was unable to enter my passcode, inadvertently hitting wrong numbers. My phone keeps disabling for increasing periods of time. I tried connecting to iTunes on my Macbook Pro, thinking I might get to Settings that way, but it asks me to enter the passcode on my phone.
Any ideas? I am afraid I will completely disable my phone.

Triple click Home to turn off zoom.
Log in to the iphone then go to Settings > General > Accessibility and disable Zoom.

  • IPad 2, few times daily must power off or cannot enter passcode. At times on Safari, it freaks out!

My iPad 2 was replaced in December 2011, ergo it's new. I was sold at a blatantly idiotic "Best Buy", where every Apple Rep at these locales should be terminated with extreme nastiness, plain "We will ignore you because we're misogynists and you're an older woman ergo we can do as we please, never ever never ever never have your model in stock[equating their termination in such a manner as 'we're sure it'd be convenient if you weren't terminated, and you're not getting 2 weeks notice, outta' heya' now], we'll sell you the improper equipment a lot because we as Apple Reps realize WOMEN AT YOUR AGE don't know the difference, it's ashame I'm an Electronics Tech Engr." back on point, I was sold an iPad 2 with WiFi, but it's a Verizon, my carrier is AT&T. I came in with much dollars that day. I shop knowing what I want bring lots of dollars and ask kindly, "May I have this and that, as well as the other, please ring it up I'll be going, thanks. I found out about the iPad about 3 months later because I only had been using it in my home on WiFi, found out there wasn't a SIM so it was Verizon. I've purchased 3 MacBooks, an iMac, an iPad 2, 2 iPhone 4's and an iPhone 4S, add it up. The iPad perhaps 3 times weekly while I'm on Safari, let's say I'm on "The Google", using it to check Reader, all of a sudden it brings up a new page on it may be Twitter, again it occurs and I'm finding I'm on an App then I'll wind up lastly on the appledotcom page, HUH? It's as if at times certain Corporocracys say "Our Ten Minutes", and the final page you land on is that Corp.!
One thing I do know is any and all Apple product when first released is released with glitches and I've grown quite tired of this. Thank you, Rhoda...

Wow! Glad you got that all off your chest! Maybe you should talk to Best Buy about your cellular service problem. After all we are just users here eying to help each other and learn more about the iPad.
    Have a nice day!

my i phone screen is black  i cannot access anything. i am trying to get my photos off of it and when i connect to i tunes it says my phone has a passcode which i cannot enter because my phone is black

It's too late. If you had been syncing your phone with that computer prior to the screen failing, it wouldn't be asking you for a passcode...

  • How do I enter passcode in voice over mode?

Hi, Don't know I did it, but I activated voice over mode on Ipad 1. Now can;t enter passcode. Any help appreciated.

Touch or tap the field that you want to use/select and it should get a box around it ; then double-tap that field to activate/type it. Once you've entered your password you can do the same (i.e. touch to select, double-tap to activate) to gradually get into  Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off.

When i attempt to key in the passcode none of the boxes get populated with the bullet. As I type each character for the passcode the voiceover repeates it, then replys with the letters TUV...
    Appreciate your help.

  • How to enter passcode using voice over accessibility

How do i enter my passcode using voice over accessibility?

    Hello there, cathy555.
The following section of the iPhone User's Guide provides some good information on using Voice Over:
Use iPhone with VoiceOver - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3e2e2329
    Particularly:
Enter your passcode silently. To avoid having your passcode spoken as you enter it, use handwriting; see Write with your finger.
Enter your passcode silently. Set the rotor to Handwriting on the passcode screen, then write the characters of your passcode.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • "Photos in the Camera Roll of "(your) iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.  You must unlock the device to import them."  My iPhone 5 running the latest iOS 7.1 and I'm using iPhoto '11 v 9.4.3

"Photos in the Camera Roll of "(your) iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.  You must unlock the device to import them."  That's the new error message when I plug in my iPhone 5 running the latest iOS 7.1 into the MacBook Pro running iPhoto '11 v.9.4.3.  My Mac OSX is still 10.8.5.
So, I unlock the iPhone by entering the "passcode" before I plug it into the MBP and still iPhoto does nothing.  At least it doesn't issue the error message above.
I've checked both iPhoto preferences and those for Photos and Camera in the Settings on the iPhone.  There doesn't seem to be anything to change this lack of connectivity.
    What next please?

An hour-long phone discussion with Apple Support yesterday solved this question and sorted a couple of others.
As for this one, do not ignore any messages which pop up when you plug in your iPhone and ask "Trust this computer?".  The correct reply is "Yes", not "Cancel".
OK, you cancelled like I did, thinking "What on earth is this for?".  Mistake.  You can force the issue by having iTunes open when you next plug in your iPhone.  Tell the iPhone that it can trust its old friend, your computer and voila!  Your photos can download into iPhoto again.
