Cannot Erase Locked Files on External HD

I have been trying to back up using Time Machine, but my HD is full. So I erase the contents of the HD (previous Backup) by dragging it to the recycle bin and hitting Empty Recycle bin. This process stops as it encounters 2 locked files (no idea what they are: BottX and Boot.efi. ) So these 2 files are on a previous back-up on my HD which i want to erase in order to perform a new back up with TM. Problem is, I cannot find a way to erase those files and dragging them out of the recycle bin onto the desktop and unlocking them on the desktop has not worked. Any ideas?

I've already tried that. i still get a prompt to do so, but cannot unlock those files while they are in the recycle bin. So I took them out onto the Desktop, unlocked them and nothing. They still show up locked in the bin (hence the HD).
How can I get rid of the contents pf the HD other than by drapging it to the recycle bin and clicking option Key + empty bin?

Operating system is Windows 7 64bit
Here is my problem :
I locked files (image, text) with fingerprint, while I was running Windows XP Professional.
I copied my files without unlocked on external hard drive, then uninstalled XP and installed Windows 7.
After the reinstallation, the fingerprint reader has stopped working.
I had to download the drivers and software from the Toshiba website.
I then put my transferred to the external hard drive on the computer but now it is unable to open the file.
Extension has been changed (automatically), a fpl . came to added after the original extension .
I tried deleted fpl but nothing happens.
When I do right click, I do not have the option "unlock, but rather "to protect the file".
I understand (reading the forum) that fingerprint technology TPM consists of a chip containing a decryption key unique to the computer.
Theoretically, it would be possible to unlock my files, since it is the same computer ...

_Issue:_
A user cannot access his fingerprint protected files when backing up these files on external storage like e.g. a network drive and performing a recovery or reinstallation of the operating system on the machine where the files were protected.
_Summary:_
The AuthenTec fingerprint software provides a feature called "protecting files/folders" which gives the user the ability to protect files regardless if stored locally, on external media (USB flash memory) or network storage with either a password or the stored fingerprints. After protecting the files, they cannot be moved/copied/deleted anymore until the user unprotects them.
The root cause of the above mentioned scenario is because of the fact that the "Authentec" fingerprint software is creating a connection between the installed fingerprint hardware and the filesystem on the HDD which acts like a key. This connection is removed after formatting or deleting the harddisk of the computer. Without this connection, the files cannot be accessed anymore and the user will not be able to unprotect them since there is no "key" which could unlock the file-protection.
_Resolution:_
To prevent data loss caused by such scenario, *the user needs to unprotect the files before storing the files on external media* for backup/storage purposes and afterwards reinstalling the operating system.
Users should generally make sure to keep an accessible backup on an external storage media in case of data loss and data corruption.

Then I created a disk group:

Then I created a new tablespace:

I did all this operations from NODE1.
What is happening now is that everytime I try to read something from new diskgroup FROM NODE2 I get the ORA-01157:
ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 13 - see DBWR trace file
ORA-01110: data file 13: '+STORE/evodb/datafile/store.256.719232707
No problem to read from NODE1.
The simple query on dba_data_file work from NODE1 and fails from NODE2 with the ORA-01157.

I moved itunes file to external hard drive and want to move the file on my pc to recycle bin. When I move i get an error message that it cannot delete ituneshelper.dll access is denied. Can I move that file to the recycle bin?

Yes. And you should not have moved that folder. Put it back. To move your iTunes library move the folder from User's Music.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

Cannot Release Lock error while Importing mdl file?

I am trying to import an mdl file in the test enviroment from the development environment.
No users are working on test environment.
I start importing the mdl file.
Then I got the error as "Cannot Release lock:.
I checked that, no sessions are active and no one is using parallely the owb for testenviroment.
Could anyone explain, why this error came?

I am deploying my application components on Oracle RAC database, when i install my app component i will run a script which creates a user and tablespace on bot rac-nodes(node1 and node2)
as database is clustered, the user are created on 2 nodes and tablespace is stored in a shared location for two rac nodes
i am able to successfully run my script on rac-node1 and and installed my component and when i started installing the app component on node2 getting error

You should not create database files outside of the ASM.
I'm not sure you can move the datafile, I would export the data from the tablespace (if there is data you need there), delete the tablespace and recreate it in the ASM, then import the data back.
If you want to move the datafile, you can try using RMAN (from node1).
First connect to the database with sqlplus and execute:
alter tablespace <tbs_name> offline;Then start RMAN: rman target /
BACKUP AS COPY DATAFILE '<file>' FORMAT '+<ASM_DG>';Then in sqlplus, execute:
alter tablespace <tbs_name> online;I'm not sure it will work, and I hope I got the commands right because I can't check it right now.

Locked mac files on external HD veiwable on Windows 7 netbook.

Long question sorry.
I have a large external HD.
Its partitioned into 2, one for a complete back up of my mac hard drive.
The other for all my other files I share between computers.
My problem is the back up section is locked to system and admin group so its not viewable by other users on my Mac.
But ALL the files are viewable and read writeable when I plug the machine into my Windows netbook.
ALL info including all users locked files, pictures etc everything that is locked and cant be viewed on a mac.
Even every Admin locked file is available to read and write on the Windows machine!!
How do I make this partition un viewable on a windows machine?!

Physical possession of an external harddrive or even harddrive means that you can read the data on the harddrive. You will find the data readable when placing the external drive in other Linux, Mac, or Windows system.
In mac OS, do a get info on the partition. you will notice that there is a check box to ignore permissions.
In order to avoid being able to read the data, you need to encrypt the data. Use disk utility to create an encrypted folder & place on external hd. Place data in this folder.
I do not recommend this solution. It will make recovery more difficult. You best be is to secure you external hd when not in use.

i have a primary database and standby database (11.2.0.1.0) running in ASM with different diskgroup names. I applied an incremental backup on standby database to resolve archive log gap and generated a controlfile for standby in primary database and restored the controlfile in standby database.But when i started the MRP process its not starting and thows error in alert log ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file. When i queried the standby database file it shows the location on primary database datafiles names not the standby database.

Cannot Create Local Lock File

There is one page on my website that when I press "edit
page", it says that it "cannot create a local lock file". Every
other page on the website can at least access the edit screen,
except this one.

, go to the "about us", then the "presentations" tab, you will
notice that it then has 3 sub-selections "nationaol", "regional",
and "local". This is the only thing I can see that might set it
apart from the other pages for editing, the fact that it has an
additional layer of selections.
Like I say, this is the only page which will not open up in
edit mode. I did not design the page, I am just some hired help
trying to figure out how to paste in some updated changes. If
anyone can help me, I'd much appreciate it.

There is one page on my website that when I press "edit
page", it says that it "cannot create a local lock file". Every
other page on the website can at least access the edit screen,
except this one.
The website is

, go to the "about us", then the "presentations" tab, you will
notice that it then has 3 sub-selections "nationaol", "regional",
and "local". This is the only thing I can see that might set it
apart from the other pages for editing, the fact that it has an
additional layer of selections.
Like I say, this is the only page which will not open up in
edit mode. I did not design the page, I am just some hired help
trying to figure out how to paste in some updated changes. If
anyone can help me, I'd much appreciate it.

What does the alert_log tell you??
The Google answer on this is:
ORA-01157:cannot identify/lock data file string - see DBWR trace file
Cause: The background process was either unable to find one of the data files or failed to lock it because the file was already in use. The database will prohibit access to this file but other files will be unaffected. However the first instance to open the database will need to access all online data files. Accompanying error from the operating system describes why the file could not be identified.
Action: Have operating system make file available to database. Then either open the database or do ALTER SYSTEM CHECK DATAFILES.
Edit: It is recommended to post database version and OS version also, including more information.
