Cannot execute litetouch.wsf from .hta

Hi,
I am working on a Windows 7 deployment via MDT 2010 Beta2. Until now we have been deploying Windows XP using MDT 2008.
We have 'always' used a .hta-menu from which the user of the mdt-media can choose between wiping the disk, starting the installation (basically executing the litetouch.wsf) and a few other things.
I want to keep using this menu, but when I try executing the litetouch.wsf from WinPe 3.0 I receive different errors, regarding 'Class Not registered', 'Media Write Protected' and a few others.
I read that in WinPE 2.0 you had to install the XML-components to make executing wsf from within PE work. What is the trick with WinPE 3.0?
Thanks in advance!
/Michael

It is generated by MDT 2010.
I believe the script never even starts.
Part of the .hta i pasted below. I have highlighted the line that is failing. I have tried running the script via wscript.exe.
If I run the "x:\Deploy\Scripts\LiteTouch.wsf" from a command prompt within the WinPE the script runs just fine.
Sub RunScript
    If UserOption(0).Checked Then
 Set objShell = CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
        objShell.Run "x:\Deploy\Tools\slet.cmd"
        window.close()
    End If
    If UserOption(1).Checked Then
 Set objShell = CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
 objShell.Run "x:\Deploy\Scripts\LiteTouch.wsf"
        window.close()
    End If
    If UserOption(2).Checked Then
        Set objShell = CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
        objShell.Run "wpeutil reboot"
        window.close()
    End If
End Sub

  • Unable to launch Litetouch.vbs (LiteTouch.wsf) from UNC path - A connection to the Deploayment Share Could not be made

    I am having a difficult time figuring out this issue. Here is the back story. The particular deployment share is not used in the traditional sense of deploying OS images. Instead, it is only used in deploying applications. I actually have three shares that
    do this catered to three different clientele groups; IT, teachers and students.
    I have these shares set up so that the Litetouch.vbs is used as a login script and tied to specific AD accounts. When launched, it goes through the normal MDT gathering process and eventually shows a list of applications to select to install.
    And this has and still is working perfectly for several years with both wired and wireless computers, until recently.
    My issue, I'm afraid, is with the new Intel Dual Band 7260 wireless cards/drivers (both N7260 and AC7260. The reason I suspect this is because any other desktop or laptop will launch the VBScript just fine and bring up the list of software like it has always
    done. However, if I UNC to the share and try to manually run LiteTouch.vbs, I get the "A connection to the deployment share cannot be made. Connection OK. Possible cause: Invalid credentials." That's right. I can UNC to the shares all day long, but
    when launching the LiteTouch.vbs or LiteTouch.wsf scripts, I always get the above error. So the wireless is working, in a way. Just not the way I need it to. I've tried different versions of drivers all with the same error. I've launched other VBScripts that
    I've wrote from UNC paths and they run fine.
    I am using a Domain Admin account to connect back to the deployment share through MDT. My account is a domain admin account. The share permissions are full control for Everyone and Domain Admins. The folder permissions are Read Only for Everyone and Full
    Control for Domain Admins. Like I stated, this works fine on any other system.
    When I look at the BDD.log file, sometimes I don't see anything, but most of the time I see the line "No physical adapters present. Cannot deploy over wireless." Which, in my case, is not true because I can use any other laptop with older
    Intel wireless cards, Broadcom, Atheros or whatever and it works perfectly. And, if I hardwire the offending laptops and use Ethernet instead of wireless, I can launch the VBScript and proceed just fine.
    I guess my question is, is there a way to force MDT to use any network connection, whether it's wired or wireless to deploy anything. In my case, it would be software.
    We use this option as a way for students in our high schools to be able to log in with a special account and install specific software they may need for a class. It is easier to have them do it this way than to try and install different software for
    different classes on a total of 4000 laptops.
    I am currently running Windows Server 2012 R2 with MDT 2013. The laptops are running Windows 7 SP1 x64 Enterprise and Windows 8.1.1 Enterprise.
    Any help or ideas anyone has to offer would be greatly appreciated.
    ~Mike

    I understand that you got MDT to work on other adapters, and I understand that some people dislike the AC series.
    However...
    I must strongly disagree with your conclusion:
    the Intel 7260 cards just will not work for this scenario. Any other wireless card works
    perfectly fine...
    As designed, MDT is coded to block Wireless deployment scenarios. However, the algorithm used to determine if a network adapter is wired vs wireless is highly flawed, it will check the description (caption) of the network adapter and search for the string:
    "Wireless". And if I recall, it is difficult to determine Wireless vs Wired within a VBSCript.
    Set colAdapters = objWMI.ExecQuery("select * from win32_NetworkAdapterconfiguration where IPEnabled = True")
    For Each oAdapter in colAdapters
    If Instr(UCase(oAdapter.Caption),"WIRELESS") = 0 Then
    If oAdapter.IPConnectionMetric < sIPConnectionMetric Or sIPConnectionMetric = "" Then
    sIPConnectionMetric = oAdapter.IPConnectionMetric
    End If
    End IF
    If Instr(UCase(oAdapter.Caption),"WIRELESS") Then
    sWirelessConnectionMetric = oAdapter.IPConnectionMetric
    End If
    Next
    If sIPConnectionMetric = "" Then
    oLogging.CreateEntry "No physical adapters present, cannot deploy over wireless", LogTypeError
    ValidatenetworkConnectivity = Failure
    Exit Function
    End IF
    On my Lenovo W530, for example, when I disable my Wired connection, my wireless adapter reports:
    PS C:\> gwmi -query "select * from win32_NetworkAdapterconfiguration where IPEnabled = true" | select-object Caption
    Caption
    [00000002] Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN
    AS you can see, no "Wireless" in the caption string.  A connection to the deployment share works just fine.
    Therefore...
    Yes, you *may* have gotten the installation to work on the machines that *just happen* to not have "wireless" in the caption, but I would not count on this to be true on all machines in a corporate environment.

  • Cannot execute work item from email after autoforwarding

    Hi All,
    I just beginning with workflow. We configured autoforwarding work items by using report RSWUWFML.
    After running the report, can receive mail in outlook.
    The mail saying
    ' You can execute it using the link below:
    &_wi_exe_url&
    But I cannot execute the link. How to solve this issue?
    Your help appreciated.

    Hi Aditya,
    In my system, the report's option 'with executable attachment' is grey out and I cannot select it.
    I would try to upgrade the report to a newer version and then try again.
    Thanks.

  • Litetouch.wsf missing from start up..

    Info:
    MDT 2010 Update 1 server.
    I didn't install or maintain it.   I just recently took ownership of it.
    Upgrading is not currently an option..
    I have a Win7 x64 thin image w\updates  that I deploy with MDT 2010 with no issues..
    I recently placed that image on a virtual machine, applied 200 updates and ran the sysprep&capture task sequence.
    It captures fine..  Problem is when I try to deploy it..
    It images with no issues.  But when the computer boots up, I logon and it doesn't continue.
    After a lot of google searches..
    I have found out that the litetouch.wsf does not launch and is not in the startup.
    Before I knew it was supposed to be in the startup.   I mounted the image and placed a shortcut on the desktop that pointed to the file on C:\minint\litetouch.wsf.
    The file shows up in the image if I mount it.  But disappears when I place the image on a machine.
    So right now, I don't know why it is not showing up in the startup.
    Thanks
    Info From Sharepoint

    Check the BDD.log file, you should see litetouch.wsf running from within Windows OOBE. If not then confirm that the image was "syspreped" properly.

  • Cannot Execute Scripts from UNC Despite GPOs Allowing Me To Do So

    Hello!
    I'm having an issue getting scripts to execute from a UNC share.
    I have followed in instructions in the below two blog postings:

    PS C:\> Get-ExecutionPolicy -List | Ft -AutoSize

     LocalMachine    RemoteSigned
    Unfortunately, I am still getting the following prompt when executing a script from a remote share:

  • MDT 2013 - Litetouch.wsf continues to run at login

    Hi all! I recently imaged a server with MDT 2013 and after it booted into Windows one of the applications I configured to install crashed and we ended up with an incomplete deployment. In this case this was fine and we moved on, but now every time a user
    logs in something is attempting to launch the Litetouch.wsf script. I ran LTICleanup manually and removed the MININT folder, but I continue to get a pop-up at login that Litetouch cannot be found.
    I have tried every registry key I am aware of HKCU and HKLM Run and Runonce keys and also checked the startup folders for every user. What is calling Litetouch? How can I stop this from happening? Thanks!

    Hi Matt McNabb,
    I guess you must create some script execute Task Sequence in your deploy task and it not complete because the deploy error occur, you can delete this script then try again,
    this forum is mainly for WDS related issue it’s not the best place to talk about the MDT issue, there have a specific MDT support forum you can post in MDT support forum and get the MDT expert further support.

    operable program or batch file.
    can someone help me on this.
    Thanks,
    Sri

    In the batch File write this way
    cd E:\OraHome_ODI\oracledi\bin
    E:
    startscen EXT_DATA 002 GLOBAL In case you are providing the values (EXT_DATA 002 GLOBAL) as parameter
    then call the startscen this way
    cd E:\OraHome_ODI\oracledi\bin
    E:
    startscen %1 %2 %3

  • Data Federator:  Insufficient memory : Operator 'HashJoin' cannot execute

    Hi,
    I'm using: SAP BusinessObjects Data Federator Designer XI 3.0 Service Pack 3 - 12.3.0.0 (Build 1011241842)
    I have a virtual view on top of sql server 2007 and teradata.  I am using a view on sql server 2007 that joins against several tables and querying a single table from Teradata.
    When I try to query the view I get the error:  [Data Federator Driver] [Server] Insufficient memory : Operator 'HashJoin' cannot execute because it cannot allocate the minimal number of memory pages. Please contact the system administrator to change system parameter settings. (0)
    This happens when I try to query the view from data federator or from an odbc connection.
    I tried playing with the configuration settings for core.queryEngine.hash.maxPartitions  and
    core.queryEngine.hashJoin.nbPartitions  and nothing seemed to work in terms of changing/increasing the numbers.  The help guide also gave no help:  http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexi3SP3/en/xi3_sp3_df_userguide_en.pdf
    I was using a very similiar query against a materialized view on Oracle and Teradata before and that worked.  But I'd prefer not to have to materialize the view in Sql Server.
    Any thoughts as to how this can be fixed?
    Thanks,
    Kerby

    <rant>The strange thing with this forum is no people, really no people, ever do anything to resolve their own problems, even though this forum has a search function, and sites with FAQs and assistance are floating around over the Internet. Why is a mystery, as nobody uses them, and most DBAs only know how to hit copy-and paste, to add to the clutter on OTN again.</rant>
    The usual steps to troubleshoot an ora-1031 apply.
    This means
    - verify whether the local administrator is in the ora_dba group and sqlnet.authentication_services in sqlnet.ora has been set to (NTS)
    - in absence of these, there should a password file be present in %ORACLE_HOME%\database, named pw%SID%.ora
    These belong to the common documented requirements, and these requirements shouldn't be repeated everywhere.

  • Execute CDC mappings from a PL/SQL procedure

    Hi,
    I´m using OWB 11.2.0.2 for Linux. I´ve created some CDC mappings to update cubes with changes coming from other tables and cubes (from the tables that implement those cubes with the relational option). The issues are:
    - The CDC mappings run successfully from the OWB (Project Navigator - Start), but I cannot execute them from a procedure in PL/SQL with the following code:
    PROCEDURE "PROC_RUNCDCMAPPINGS" IS
    --inicializar variables aquí
    RetVal NUMBER;
    P_ENV WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES;
    -- ventana principal
    BEGIN
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_RECARGA.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_TOR.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_TOAE.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_VIAJES.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_TICKETINCIDENCIA.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_LIQMONEDERO.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBOS_LIQTEMPORALES.MAIN(P_ENV);
    COMMIT;
    END;
    It doesn´t report any error (the value for RetVal after execution is 0), but the cubes are not loaded with changes, and the changes stored in the J$_%tables are not consumed.
    Some of the options that may impact in the mappings are:
    - All the CDC are of Simple type
    - There are more than one subscriber to consume the changes, as for some tables, its changes must feed more than one CDC.
    - All the mappings include only one execution unit per mapping.
    - The integration/load template is the default: DEFAULT_ORACLE_TARGET_CT
    Other question is: As I explained, I need more than one subscriber because same updates must be consumed by different CDC mappings, to load different cubes, but I´ve not been able to assign the subscribers to only the tables associated with them, so all the subscribers are subscribed to all the changes in all the CDC tables, but as many of those subscribers never consume the changes of same tables, in the J$_% tables remains the not consumed records, and I haven´t found the way to purge those tables (other than the delete from J$_), nor to assign the tables with the subscribers (so the subscribers are only subscribed to their interested changes, that will be consumed, so the tables will be emptied after the consumption).
    Any help with these problems will be greatly appreciated.
    Tell me if more info is needed to clarify the situation.
    Best regards,
    Ana

    Hi David,
    Thank you for your reply.
    These mappings are the mappings needed to update the cubes with the changes detected by the CDC system, they are located under the Mapping Templates folder and I´m using code templates for the control of the loading and the integration (the DEFAULT_ORACLE_TARGET_CT) mapping.
    What I need is to execute these mappings within a PL/SQL procedure that will be invoked from different tools.
    I´ve done it for regular mappings (not CDC mappings), and it works. The code is the same as for the CDC ones:
    PROCEDURE "PROC_RUNLOADMAPPINGS" IS
    --inicializar variables aquí
    RetVal NUMBER;
    P_ENV WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES;
    -- ventana principal
    BEGIN
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_RECARGA.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_TOR.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_TOAE.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_VIAJES.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_TICKETINCIDENCIA.MAIN(P_ENV);
    COMMIT;
    END;
    -- End of PROC_RUNLOADMAPPINGS;
    ,and when I run it, the mappings are executed, but with the CDC ones it doesn´t (even when no error is reported).
    I know that they are deployed in the selected agent (in my case the Default_Agent), but when I start them from the OWB, the mapping packages are created in the DB schema, so, I thought that maybe I could invoke them....so what you tell me is that the only way to invoke them is from SQL*Plus? not from a regular PL/SQL procedure?
    Thank you very much,
    Ana

  • SAP GRC RAR 5.3 SP9 "Cannot execute BAPI UserList"

    Hi everyone,
    After upgrading to 5.3 SP9, my client started experiencing some problems with RAR. I doubt it's linked to the upgrade, since I did all the testing and results were as expected. The problem is as follows:
    Using RAR, for only one specific system (SAP ECC6 box), when running foreground AND background analysis for USERS, all analysis fails with the following error log (see below message). All ROLE analysis work as expected (SOD and critical actions/autorisations).
    In the configuration tab, the connexion test is successful. I did some testing with a BASIS from the client and we identified that when running a successful analysis, we could log a RFC connection to the backend system (dont recall the transaction used though). When the analysis failed, no connexion was logged.
    The client's GRC admin opened a ticket with SAP, but I was wondering if the collective knowledge of SDN could maybe help us identify the cause of our problems.
    Any solution path is welcome
    Kind regards
    Jerome Fortin

    Yes, I am aware there might be an issue with the BAPI USER list execution, it is pretty excplicit in the message.
    I was wondering if anyone has seen this error before and if someone can help me trace the source of the error. A message was already open with SAP before christmas and no solution was identified at the moment.

    spid24s     An exception occurred while enqueueing a message in the target queue. Error: 15517, State: 1. Cannot execute as the database principal because the principal "dbo" does not exist, this type of principal cannot be impersonated,
    or you do not have permission.

    Hi Paul,
    I also had the same error on one of my servers, and it was because the user that created the database no longer worked for the company.
    So when his AD account got deleted, the database had NULL as owner
    Using the following query I asked for the owners of the databases:
    select name, suser_sname(sid) from master.dbo.sysdatabases
    So changing the owner of the databases that had a NULL owner solved the issue for me.
    use <databasesname>
    go
    exec sp_changedbowner 'sa'
    Thanks for triggering the solution.

  • Getting Error while Execute SSIS Package from Console Application

    Dear All,
    SSIS package working fine directly.
    I got following error while execute SSIS package from C# console application.
    The connection "{79D920D4-9229-46CA-9018-235B711F04D9}" is not found. This error is thrown by Connections collection when the specific connection element is not found.
    Cannot find the connection manager with ID "{79D920D4-9229-46CA-9018-235B711F04D9}" in the connection manager collection due to error code 0xC0010009. That connection manager is needed by "OLE DB Destination.Connections[OleDbConnection]"
    in the connection manager collection of "OLE DB Destination". Verify that a connection manager in the connection manager collection, Connections, has been created with that ID.
    OLE DB Destination failed validation and returned error code 0xC004800B.
    One or more component failed validation.
    There were errors during task validation.
    Code :
       public static string RunDTSPackage()
                Package pkg;
                Application app;
                DTSExecResult pkgResults;
                Variables vars;
                app = new Application();
                pkg = app.LoadPackage(@"D:\WORK\Package.dtsx", null);
         Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DTSExecResult results = pkg.Execute();
    I have recreate the application with again new connection in SSIS.
    Still not working, Please provide solution if any one have.

    Are you sure that you are running the same package via .NET which works fine from Visual Studio?
    By reading error message, I can say that you have copied OLEDB task from another package OR you have deleted one OLEDB connection manager. Now when package is run this task tries to use the connection manager and not found thus throws error message.
    Open all OLEDB destination tasks and you find connection manager missing. Connection Manager name should be provided there

  • Cannot Execute Error on JES4 install

    Ok, I'm starting from scratch here...I'm trying to install JES4 on an Admin/Directory server. Downloaded the install from the web but when I try to run the ./install...I get the following error:
    /tmp/.jes_CaChE/Solaris_sparc/installer: /tmp/.jes_CaChE/Solaris_sparc/.install/j2se_jre/bin/java: cannot execute
    Sun Documentation is impossible to follow OR understand! Checked the permission on the /java and changed them to allow for execute but they change back again!
    Any suggestion appreciated!

    Gotta be something pretty basic if java won't run. You did make sure to get the right architecture distribution (it looks like you got the SPARC one, you're not running on a x64 server?) "cannot execute" can be other things than permissions problems. Are you low onf swap space? (install has, at this point, just unpacked a whole JRE into /tmp, and if you have /tmp on swap which is normal for Solaris, that is going to eat a bunch of swap space.) (Btw, the reason the permissions seem to change back is that it's unpacking a whole new version every time you run ./installer.)
    I note the Installation Guide does say to "navigate to the directory" and enter "./installer" . I suspect that means that entering the absolute pat won't work, did you do that?

  • How to execute unix command from ODI Procedure

    Hi,
    I am trying to execute below unix command from ODI Procedure (Command on Target tab) but I am getting the error "java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "cd": error=2, No such file or directory" but when I try to execute the same command using OdiOSCommand, it is executing successfully. I don't want to use shell script to execute this command. Is there any specific syntax am I missing to execute this command from ODI procedure?
    cd /project3/tmt/;ls *.dmp > dmplist.lst
    Please help me on this...
    Thanks
    MT

    Hi nahlikh,
    Thank you for the reply.
    I used below command in Procedure but still getting the same error as "java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "OdiOSCommand": error=2, No such file or directory".
    OdiOSCommand "-COMMAND=cd /project3/tmt/;ls *.dmp > dmplist.lst"
    as I mentioned earlier if I use the command cd /project3/tmt/;ls *.dmp > dmplist.lst in OdiOSCommand tool it is executing successfully without any issues.
    any thoughts appreciated to get a solution for this issue.
    Thanks
    MT
