Cannot export from CS5 to tape in HD

Greetings,
I am having trouble exporting from sequnce to hdv tape. The export to tape feature is greyed out (I selected the sequence) and the camera, a Sony Z7U is hooked up through firewire (ilink). If I turn off all the HD menu items, conversion, ect...I get an SD signal to pop up on the camera, but trying HDV it falls off. I am on a new Toshiba 4 Core system i7 processer. I have selected the generic standard Sony device as ther 7U is not listed. Any help with this would be appreciated.
Brian

With your sequence selected, go to Sequence > Sequence Settings, and click on the Playback Settings button in the panel that appears. Under the Export section, make sure that External Device is set to your camera (or generic device, in your case).

  • Cannot open file exported from CS5 as .idml into CC2014.

I'm trying to open a file created in InDesign CS5 in the newest CC version of InDesign.
It is a large (2GB) file comprised entirely of placed images.
I found a thread that suggested exporting as idml.
I did export from CS5 as idml which made the file size a mere 195 MB.
When I tried to open it in CC2014 I got the error message:
Cannot open the file "name.indd"  Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in
that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application.
I had quit from CS5 before attempting to open the file in CC2014.
I had thought that exporting as .idml would change the file type suffix from
.indd to .idml but I'm not in the weeds enough to be sure about that.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.
    Roger

I had thought it might be.
I preserved my original (created in CS5) and saved a copy
to try it in CC 2014. The copy wouldn't open in CC.
I deleted this copy and tried again with a new copy
Tried to open in CC - no go.
Opened the new copy in CS5 - no problem.
If the file were corrupt, would it still open in CS5, or is this
    a forward compatibility issue?

  • Oversaturated colors on exporting from CS5.

    Hi everybody,
I'd like to try to ask to the forum something that I'm not able to understand.
I just downloaded the trial of the new flash cs5 and I was playing around to have a look at the new version.
    What I did:
    - picked a png file of a logo, previously exported from illustrator and imported in flash, then exported the whole thing in swf, then embedded in an html page and looked at it on a wide gamut monitor on safari: colors oversaturated, just like when opening, in photoshop, a picture which has no profile;
    - tryed again, this time opening the png in photoshop, assigning srgb profile and re-saving the png: again oversaturated;
    - tryed again, importing directly the illustrator file, which already was srgb: oversaturated.
Meanwhile, a friend made an flv from an mp4 of mine, which is a slide show of jpeg srgb pictures, and when he embedded it on my site, I saw again wrong colors.
I'm wondering if it depends on my wide gamut monitor, on flash, on safari, or what else.
Did anyone noticed this thing? Any hint?
Thank you, hope someone can help!

    Ok, now everything is clear.
I found some explanations about the issue. It seems that it concerns a system with OSX, Safari and a wide gamut monitor. Flash nullifies color tags in the pictures, Safari displays non-tagged pictures as they are monitor-profile tagged... and since the monitor profile is a wide gamut profile, voila, oversaturated colors.
In fact, trying to use Camino browser on the same system, everything works fine and the colors are perfect.
Now, to whom this issue should be addressed? Adobe or Apple?
Meanwhile I'll go browsing with Camino or setting the monitor in srgb mode for internet.

  • How to export from CS5

No luck to export as a idml so far. The original file is 209mg. when i export it gives me a 4kb file . Anyone have an answer.

The .idml file contains less information than the .indd -- no image previews or embedded profiles (I think), for example, so they tend to be smaller. How much depends on the content and how recently you did a Save As on the .indd file to remove unusable change information.
Export in CS5 is a background task, which means it doesn't show you a progress bar, but there is a little animated icon in the menu bar that runs while the export is in progress, and you can open the Background Tasks panel from the Window > Utilities menu to check on progress. Perhaps your export is not complete.
Are you saving locally or to a network location? Is the copy of CS4 patched to at least 6.0.5? What happens when you try to open the .idml? Does it open in CS5?

  • Cannot export from QT to FLV

I am on a Mac running OS X 10.4.8, Flash MX 2004 Professional
    and QuickTime Player 7.1.3 Professional.
I want to take a .mov file that I've gotten from a client,
and export it as a .flv file. However, in QT, when I select
"Export...", there are no selections on the pull-down menu of
versions that let me save as an FLV file.
The FLV.component file is in the correct folder, and I
downloaded and installed what I think is the latest version of
Flash Video Exporter from this link:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/flv_exporter.html
I've also thrown away the preference files for QuickTime and
Flash, and restarted both programs, but still no dice.
Any thoughts on what I can do? This is the only client I've
got right now who needs this service, so I would REALLY PREFER not
to buy yet another piece of software to solve this; it seems like
all indications are that since I already own QT Pro and Flash MX
2004 Pro I should have all the right stuff in my hands as it is.
    Thanks for advice!
    -Sara

Hey -- still looking for an answer on this one, surprised no
    one has responded.
I also posted to apple.com's discussion list, where I got
some great advice but no resolution. One poster suggested that this
problem might be coming from the fact that I'm on an intel-based
Mac; he said that the flv.component file (v. 1.2.24) might not be
"intel-aware." Is that true? Is there a more recent version that
someone in my situation can try?
Finally, I went ahead and bought a piece of cheapware,
Mac-only, called VisualHub, and it is doing a satisfactory job for
    this one-time need I had. www.techspansion.com/visualhub/

  • Cannot export from Lightroom 5.6 to jpg, Internal error has occurred, attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil value

    Hi everybody,
I run Lightroom 5.6 on Windows 8.1. It's been a while since I exported anything and now I find that I cannot export to JPG.
I get an internal error, " attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil value" .
I remember that I used to have this situation before (different error) with previous versions. Than it was usually the "perform after export"  that was without value.
However it is set ti " Do nothing" .
I've searched the web and found nothing. Anyone got an idea what the cause could be?
    Thanks
    Bob

    Hi there,
so I found something! I was wondering why the "publish on harddrive" process did work, but the export to harddrive not.
So I looked in the difference of the presettings and found only the different options "choose export folder" and "predefined export folder" (don't know the exact translations, as I use the german version, but I hope you find what I mean.)
So I changed in the export settings the export folder to a fix predefined folder and there you are, export is working again!
Don't know the relation to the GPS-data, but anyhow.
Hope this helps to solve the problem?
Don't know if MS windows did an update which causes the error, but I didn't changed anything in lightroom as it worked before without these settings.
And of course in the long rund I would like to go back to the "choose folder" option, as I know have to copy the images to the right folder after export which is not a smooth process..
    regards

  • Cannot Export from Acrobat to Word

I have Acrobat Pro version 8.1.3 and Word 2007.  There is a very prominent Icon right on the top toolbar that tells me I can Export to Word.  However, I cannot.  I get results that either strip all formatting away from the Text or yield strange results.  I have also tried converting to word via .rtf and .txt.
After Exporting to .doc from Acrobat, and opening Word, instead of recognizing the document as a Word-97 (.doc), Word offers to convert the .doc from an .rtf!  What is wrong here?  It would appear that the conversion from PDF to Word-97 is not being done correctly.  I have read many posts similar to mine, but I have not garnered any resolutions to the problem!  Is PDF a read-only format?
Forgive me, but I am unclear as to what I would use the full version of Acrobat for if not to export the document into an editable form.   PDF documents come from all over the place, and it would be nice to see the full Acrobat Pro do what it promises --- I need to edit PDF's just about every day!  If Acrobat cannot do this conversion, I'll need to spend $180.00 on upgrading my OCR program to do the job.
Another Thought:  (In case this is an Adobe vs Microsoft issue):  Would it be easier to convert the PDF into InDesign?  I just looked at this. and do not see a menu option to import PDF files in InDesign.  My strong preference would be to get the PDF into a fully editable form in Word.
Additional info:  One report of this type problem advised use of Acrobat conversion settings to change some things -- that will not work for me as the only setting I have is whether to include comments or not!  Another problem-like-this-solver suggested "embedding the fonts" into the .pdf -- this will not work either as my system has lots of Open Source fonts, but my .pdf has, you guessed it, all True Type fonts.  All of my software and Vista-64 OS are up-to-date.  Yes, the PDF is in text form, albeit using True-Type fonts -- so no, the "Advanced Editing tool" does not work either -- but offers to do one line at a time -- I have a 10-page document!
    Please help!!!!  Suggestions???  Thanks!

The ability to go backwards depends on the way in which the PDF was created. Generally, going to WORD is marginal as you have found out. If the tags were created with the PDF, then the formatting and such can often be gotten back due to the tags. Looks like you have a basic PDF. In terms of going backwards, that was never the main purpose of Acrobat (it is always recommended that you retain an original copy of your documents to work with). Acrobat was designed to produce a Portable Document Format (PDF) that could be read on basically any platform and look identical. As long as the fonts are embedded and such, that is usually what exists. All of the other items are add-ons to provide additional features. How well these features work depends on the information available in the PDF.
At times, I have found I can get a reasonable DOC file by saving as a HTML file and opening the HTML file in WORD. Not the cleanest way, but it works at times. Some documents can be saved directly to DOC files and look great, others are pretty bad. However, you are still better off in that you don't have to start typing from scratch. It is a lot easier to add some formatting that it is to start over.

  • Losing image when exporting from CS5 to PDF

    Hi All!
I am working off of a file that was sent to me by our designer. I made a few small changes to some text and went to export to PDF and one (and only one) of my images is lost in the PDF!
The image was originally embedding in a .idml (mark up) file when it came from the graphic designer. I worked in that file and saved it as an .indd file (CS5) and exported. I then tried to delete the file and link it, no go. Re-embed it, still nothing. I've now tried exporting it once again to .idml and exporting to PDF with no success.
I then went in, opened the original .idml file and exported to PDF without making any changes and I'm still losing the image! My graphic designer is able to export just fine on his end (I'm pretty sure he's working on CS6) and we've had the peice printed once already, so I know it's something going array on my end.
I've also tried changing various export settings with no luck. What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Is CS5 patched to 7.0.4?
Is the image on a master page?
Is it visible when you switch to Preview mode?

  • Problem with exporting from CS5 to swf ???

I have an InDesign CS5 document with 10 pages in 5 spreads. I need to export every single pages to a seperate swf file, with no action at all, but CS5 export each spread to a swf file, and not each page ??? It was not a problem in CS4. Anybody knew what to do ?????

No my document is like below.
I have unchecked "facing pages" in the Document Setup and I do remember to choose the "range number" in the export menu,
but still the swf file shows the whole spread ???

  • Cannot Export from iDrum

Hi, I'm a long-time user of garageband, but a problem has cropped up recently.
When writing a song I generally go into iDrum (1.5.3), make a little pattern, and "export song as aif". This was all fine until not too long after updating to 5.1. I can't remember the circumstances immediately leading up to it, but one day when I exported a drum loop, I found that when I dragged the loop to the garageband work-space, nothing would come up. If I took the file into audacity to check it, it would turn out to be just a blank audio file. It was exporting blank audio files for some reason.
But I found out that I could still "export the pattern as aif". So I did that for a while, but just today, after changing the tempo of a song, I suddenly discovered that I can now no longer export patterns. They come out as blank files as well.
If there is anyone who can offer help, I would really appreciate it. I spend so many hours a week on garageband, it would really suck if for some reason I could no longer use it. Thanks!

Under "save as file type," the export command only offers "all files."
That's normal. I'm not sure even what purpose that box serves; it may be just a standard part of the Windows save dialog. If you want to change export formats, select the appropriate format under the "Export" pulldown (the next menu down in that dialog box).

  • Cannot print from cs5 to epson r1900  windows 7

when I hit "print settings" I get a message that says big red x -- "because the requested printer does not exist". I can't accesss my printer setup settings, page orientation, etc
I have my usual workflow, eg "Document profile - Adobe RGB, Photoshop Manages color
    please advise.  thank you....

I'm having the same problem with my HP Z3100 in Windows 7 64-bit
The kludgy workaround is to choose a different printer from the "Printer" drop down list at the top, then re-choose the printer you wanted in the first place.
But at least you don't have to quit Photoshop to start printing.
(Careful - your choices in color management may change to defaults when you re-choose your printer.)

  • Cannot export from iPhoto after deleting photos in its library

... because it says it cannot find the original. It asks if I want to search for it myself, but I think it means searching for the ones I've deleted or something. I don't even want to upload those! Help!
I've read this somewhere else on this forum: "The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents."
    That's exactly what's happening! Why?

create a new deafult iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file . If you make any changes to it make a note of what chane syou have made.
Do NOT change the preference to copy imported items to the iPhoto library
depress the option key and laynch iPhoto and create a new library
Do not ever make any change to its content or structue using the finder or anyother program other than iPhoto
in iPhoto under the hlep menu go to the iPhoto help videos and watch them
Import a few photos and practice with iPhoto and ask specific question as you find things you do not understand
Most important is to never go directly into the iPhoto library - there is no need to and ther are no user servicable parts in it

  • EMail Link in SWF exported from InD CS5 does not work

I'm trying to find a definitive answer on this. I have designed an interactive document in InD CS5 that has buttons and hyperlinks. When exported to SWF everything works except my e-mail hyperlink. It works fine in InDesign's preview pane. I've uploaded the file to my webserver for testing, the problem still occurs.
I found one post in another forum that quoted an Adobe InD developer stating that as of CS4 email links were not exported. However, I've not been able to find any mention of whether this works in CS5 or not.
Does anybody know for sure whether or not email links work in SWF files exported from CS5?

Sorry, no offense was intended. I had found references to problems with CS4, but nothing about CS5, and said as much in my post -- was frustrated that I had spent a long time looking and hadn't found any responses yet.
You mentioned using buttons rather than hyperlinks, and that worked for me -- but it might have just been a problem with my browser not properly reloading the flash file, too -- as I mentioned in my response.
But in any case, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUGGESTION!

  • Unable to Export from LR4

Lion 10.7.4 MacPro  -  I cannot export from Lightroom 4 in my main Admin account. Lightroom gives me an error message - Spent much time with Adobe and it was suggested that it was an Apple issue. Apple tech doesn't think so. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    JT

Not sure if this will help your situation, but I just had the same problem and tracked it to a weird issue with Lr not giving me ownership or write permission on this folder or its contents:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/
Once I changed the owner to me and gave myself read/write access this this folder and its contents, I was able to export.
The backstory as to (I think) why this happened is in my post in this thread.
