Cannot export HD from Premiere Pro CS5.5 XDCAM HD 420 projects

Most of the sources material is XDCAM HD 420 35 MPS.  There are a few MOV clips in there as backgrounds and some, not many Boris Red 5 transitions.  No matter what I try, I cannot export to Bluray.  I cannot make a bluray via dynamic link.  I was able to export NTSC AVI files of each of the five modules, rebooting the computer after each of the 5 exports and not rendering the effects in the timeline.  Used the AVIs to make the FLV and WMV clips.  However, I still need to make a Bluray in order to get paid.
Is there such a thing as a corrupt project?  This project started its life as CS5 but it started endlessly indexing renders (I mentioned that before a few months ago but with CS5.5) so I brought it into CS5.5.  If I render the effects in the work areas it starts the indexing renders circle dance so I don't bother, jsut exported to AVI.
I've removed ALL unused media and ensured that every one of the 5,000 files is in the single directory on an AVID SCSI Ultra320 RAID.
I cannot export via Project Manager, it just quits.
Any ideas are welcomed.
I am running this on a Supermicro MOB with two quad XEONs, 32 gig RAM, nVidia QuadroFX 3800 and two channel Ultra320 SCSI.  Win7 64 bit Ultimate.  I tried swapping the Quadro for a GTX 570 but nothing improved.
thanks,
Peter Burn

"Why not?"
If I knew that I would be very happy indeed.  I am reinstalling CS5 to see if it will export this project.  I bought the newest version of Diskeeper and defragged all the SCSI and SATA drives, still no joy.  Exports get to about 25% then Adobe freezes up completely.  I may have to put the AJA Kona back in then try exporting via HDSI to a rented deck.

  • Cannot export media from Premiere Pro CS4

I am unable to export media from premiere pro cs4. The process I go through is as follows
select files/sequence I want to export
    select file menu
    scroll down to export
    select media
nothing happens, premiere pro "freezes", as though it was going to open up adobe media encoder but does nothing, premiere pro can be "unfrozen" simply by pressing esc.
I have tried doing all of this with media encoder open and still nothing happens. if anyone has any suggestions please throw them my way. thanks.

  • Poor quality on movie after exporting it from Premiere Pro CS5.5

    Hi!
As a part of my bachelor thesis in industrial engineering, I am making an animation that shows how different types of water turbines work.
The animation it self,  I've created in a program called Autodesk Inventor. From Inventor I get an uncompressed video. This video is usually not possible to open directly, but when I convert this with FreeMake video converter, it works
    Conversion in FreeMake:
    From:
    RAWVIDEO
    1280 * 720
    16:9
    663,554 Kbps
    30 fps
    To:
    . Avi, mpeg4
    1280 * 720
    16:9
    3283Kbps
    30fps
The video looks great now, but now when i have finished editing the film in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and exported it, the lines are very blurred and bad. I've attached a picture showing what I mean. I have tried many different settings in Premiere, but i cannot get it any better.
The picture on the left is after exporting, the image on the right is after converting it in FreeMake Video Converter.
Have tried with the flicker removal, but with poor results.
Does anyone have any tips on what I can do?

Thank you for the warm welcome
Yes, the video from autodesk is uncompressed avi. These files are impossible to import in Premiere, and i cant open them in either VLC or WMPlayer.
After a conversion with FreeMake VideoConverter they are possible to import, and they look very good in VLC.
    My Sequence settings are:
    Editing mode: HDV 720p
    Timebase: 29.97 frames/second
    Video:
    Frame size: 1280*720
Pixel Aspect ratio: Square Pixels (1.0)
    Fields: No fields (progressive scan)
    Display format: 30fps Drop-Frame Timecode
    Audio:
    Sample Rate 48000Hz
    Display format: Audio samples
    Video Previews
Preview File format: I-Frame Only MPEG
    Codec: MPEG I-frame
    With: 1280
    Height: 720
Maximum bit depth and Maximum render quality is checked.
I have tried with a variety of export settings, but my current ones are:
    Output:
    Format: Quicktime
    Video Codec: H.264
    1280*720, 29,97 fps, Progressive, Quality 100, 48000Hz, Stereo, H.264
    Aspect: Square Pixels
    Render at maximum depth
    Depth: 24bit
    Use maximum render quality.
One thing I find quite strange is that i have to short clips at the beginning, which both seem fine.

  • Audio problems when exporting files from Premiere Pro CS5

I try to post in English.
I have audio problems in Premiere Pro CS5 when exporting a film.
I cut an interview. The sound seems not to be synchronized when exporting a file. It doesn´t matter what file format I export. On cutting points the sound is different to the sound I hear in premiere. In premiere the audio sounds very good but in exported file I hear cracks on cutting points.
When I reimport the audio file an put it in the timeline the synch point is correct but the interview differs about 2 frames to the original audio in premiere.
The material was filmed on Sony ex3. The files are XDCam HD. I have updated the production suite.
    Thanks for answers

Also, make sure that you check the box marked "Export Audio" if you want a MP4 extension.

  • How to use VST Plugins from Premiere Pro CS5 in Adobe Audition 3.0 ?

I have tried to use VST plugins from Premiere Pro CS5 into Adobe Audition 3.0, but could not use it.Is any method to use them ?

Unless I'm mistaken, you can't do this at all - Adobe lock all their VST effects so that they only work with the app they were intended for. Which also means, of course, that you can't use Audition VST plugins with any other software either. Since Audition isn't currently in the CS, there isn't even an exception there, I suspect.

thats way too vague of a question... best what?  quality? size? playback?
best quality then use high bitrate, small size use low bitrate.

  • How can I go from Premiere Pro CS5 to After Effects CS6? (Problem)

    Hi,
I am trying to send my clip from Premiere Pro CS5 to After Effects CS6, but when I right click on the clip, I can't even select the option to send it to After Effects. I can see the option to send it to After Effects, but I just cant select it. Any ideas?
    Thanks,

You can do what you want... only going the other way!
You can import a CS5 Premiere Project (in its entirety
or a selected sequence) into CS6 Ae.
    In CS6 Ae:
    File>Import>Adobe Premiere Pro Project...
Navigate to your CS5 Premiere project, double-click
and select 'All Sequences', or your preferred sequence.
As Jim points out, Dynamic Linking will only work
between matching versions of Pr and Ae.

  • Exporting to AVI from Premiere Pro CS5.0.2 from DVCPRO HD sequence giving only 1 frame?

When trying to export from a P2 1080i 60hz DVCOPRO HD timeline to an AVI, whether going to queue or direct export using AME, it is going through its encoding steps but I am ending up with only one frame of let's say a 2 minute sequence. I've used Uncompressed AVI preset as well as Microsoft AVI preset - both going to 720 x 480.
Happens with and without using Maximum Render Quality setting.  Happens whether I have MPE on or off.
Couldn't find anything in the forum....have the Premiere Pro CS5.0.2 update.  Help.

Unfortunately, the poster cannot award themselves "points." Otherwise, Harm and I would have over 50,000!
Glad that you got the answer and the fix.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 - XDCAM export

    Hello friends,
We are using Premiere Pro CS5 successfully in our video editing. But we have a problem: We export to the format. MXF in HD and SD with no problems. I can copy the clips to the MXF HD PDW-U1 drive smoothly. However,  the export of IMX (30, 40 or 50), and when trying to copy the disc  using the PDW-U1 (formatted disk, free name and multiple format enabled)  the drive does not accept the copy.
Do you have any idea what might be happening? In Premiere Pro CS4 was possible to export and copy to SD for the PDW-U! through op1a.
    Thanks,

    Man,
I'm having the same problem here in Floripa.
Working for an agency. Since we have a retail customer, we bought a MAC PRO and a PDW-1 and only managed to record on the IMX-50 Final Cut File> Export> XDCAM codec with apple PRORES(LT). I can not export directly from Premiere CS5 for the PDW-1.

  • Exporting from Premiere Pro CS5 and DVD authoring

I have a reoccuring problem with Premiere Pro and authoring DVDs. This is how it goes.
    I shoot a video using a Canon 5D Mark III. 1080p 24.
I then edit in Premiere Pro CS5, with proper settings on the sequence which are the preset Digital SLR > 1080p > DSLR 1080p24.
    Everything is hunky dory.
Then I have to export...and the frustration ensues...
I export using the HDTV 1080p 24 High Quality export preset with the H.264 export codec. This gives me a decent .mp4
I then bring this file into Encore and author the dvd. I used the regular dvd and the blue ray export settings as a test, but the video always ends up looking horrible with artifacts all over the place, especially on areas of high contrast. It looks like a badly compressed .jpg.
This happens at various times when exporting animation/motion graphics from After Effects also. When I use a ramp in the background, the gradient is often very banded...
When I rent a movie from the video store, the images and type look good on whatever i play the dvd on or watch it through. When I burn a dvd, it looks universally bad using all kinds of players on all kinds of monitors, projectors, etc...
Can anyone lead be in the direction of an article or video that will thoroughly explain this so i can learn it once and for all?
    Thanks in advance.

    Jim, lol.
    Thanks everyone as usual.
So, should my composition settings for after effects be set to 24 or 23.976 and can i render them as 16 bit?
Will this reduce the banding and artifacts along with using dynamic link? Or will it ultimately be 8 bit by the time the dvd is burned and go back to the banding....?

  • Mov files in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 - XDCAM (MPEG) resp MPEG 1/2 (xdvc)

    Problem description:
I got a bunch of MOV files on a HFS+ formated disk for editing on Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.3). When I import to Premiere, Premiere says "Codec missing or unavailable". Paragon HFS+ is used to handle the HFS+ formated disk. I copied the data to a NTFS formated disk before using.
The reseach I did give the following indications:
I did try to play in Quicktime and Quicktime told that I would need additional software to play the .mov file. But I could execute show movie inspector and it shows "XDCAM EX 1080i 50 (35Mb/s VBR)".
VLC plays (!) and tells that it is a "Mpeg 1/2 Video (xdvc)"
    MediaInfo says "MPEG Video (XDCAM)"
Sound is (L)PCM according to the mov inspector programs.
The MPEG2 format seems to be supported by Premiere (also in HD), forum entries tell me I should be at version 5.0.2 as there Adobe supports the MOV container. So now my question: What am I missing?
I have no idea on the Camera used to film, but it could be a JVC, as it is told that the JVC writes mov files.

    Hi Colin,
The explanation is quite simple and it appeared to me sometime during the weekend when executing completly different tasks.
The video source is different! The small clips (and your test clip) are what came from the camera and was transcoded to mov, my test clip was the edit out of FCP! It was by chance the only mov-file left, all others have been deleted after transforming to mp4, not to keep the data in double and fill up the disks with unnessecary data. So I tested this clip, which was the mistake!
Testing one of the original input files confirmed your result!
The difference between the files is having indeed 2 mono audio streams (input mov) vs one stereo stream (edit mov), all 3 obviously PCM.

  • Importing from premiere pro cs5 to after effects cs5

hi, can anyone help me with this problem?
im editing some stuff in premiere pro cs5 and when i import it into after effects cs5 for colour correction and other effects all the transitions that i had from premiere will disappear. if someone can guide me step by step to this process it will be very helpful
    Thanks,
    Randolph Azzopardi

As Mylenium suggests, there are many ways to move information between Premiere Pro and After Effects. They are all outlined on this page: "Working with After Effects and Premiere Pro"
You didn't specify, but I'll assume as he did that you are exporting a Premiere Pro project from After Effects. That works by converting things from native After Effects to their equivalents in Premiere Pro; sometimes there isn't a good equivalent, so the conversion isn't perfect. The same conversion is done as is done for copying and pasting between After Effects and Premiere Pro. There's a set of tables that describe the conversions here.
The way to get perfect fidelity is to either use Dynamic Link (as Mylenium suggested) or render and export a movie from After Effects and import that into Premiere Pro.

  • Upgrading from Premiere Pro CS5.5 to CS6

I have Premiere Pro CS5.5 as part of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium.  I just purchased Premiere Pro CS6 upgrade but when I try to register I select Premiere Pro CS5.5 as my qualifying product upgrade and enter the SN from Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium that contained PP5.5 but I get the message that I need a qualifying product.
I would think it would recognize that I have PP CS5.5.  Should I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Suite 6 instead of just upgrading Premiere Pro?

    What Mylenium said.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/faq.html#purchasing-policy
"Am I eligible for upgrade pricing from a previous Creative Suite edition to a standalone CS component?
No. You cannot upgrade from a Creative Suite edition to an individual CS component. To confirm your options and learn about the requirements for upgrades, check the upgrade eligibility chart on the buying guide page of the product you wish to purchase."
