Cannot export images

My  D800 images are not correctly exported to disk. After some images exported the rest of the selected images are deleted on the disk after exportation.

I was thinking about upgrading my system to a Windows& 64bit version with enough Ram.
There is a very good chance this will fix your problem. As has been said, most people are not having it, and it's system dependent, so often "shaking up your system" is the solution. I had horrible problems with Lr3 performance in it's earliest days and a new motherboard fixed it (I don't think I had hardware problems, per se, but the new system came together in a way that played nicely with Lr, whereas the old system did not - new motherboard was indeed faster, but main reason for improvement was smoother operation..., or so I imagine...). That all assumes the problem is in the hardware/OS/driver domain, and not the data file domain, etc...
In other words, when you upgrade, a lot of things will change and be redone in the hardware/OS/driver domain, but a lot of things will not change in the data file domain (since you will be restoring old data to the new system).
It is true that Lr has problems when not enough resources like RAM, but it's also true that throwing more ram onto an existing problematic system may not solve anything, it may just somewhat delay the inevitable, at best.
My opinion?: on a perfectly behaving system you shouldn't need more than 4GB of physical and available memory to export 10,000 D800 photos (assuming no other ram hungry apps need an unforeseen and substantial slice of the pie while export is in progress - see 21's profile of a well-behaved 100 photo export). But of your 4GB physical, you've only got 3.25GB (or so) available to OS/apps/Lr, which is marginal, for full-rez D800 files. If Lr is your only ram-hungry app, and your system behaves perfectly, anything over 6-8GB will be a waste. However, your system may not behave perfectly, and you may decide to run another ram-hungry app (or 2...) along with Lightroom (like Photoshop and/or a video editor), so having 12-16 or more may be worthwhile in the long run. However, if you need 24 or 32GB to keep the wheel turning for longer, there is a good chance that wheel would grind to a halt even if you had 128GB installed.
Bottom line: I highly recommend upgrading. What you have is marginal and if you plan to continue using Lightroom to process "huge" raw files, it's the right thing to do, assuming you can afford it. Yes, there is a possibility you will have the same problem after upgrading, but probably not, and even if you do, you'll know a bunch of things it probably wasn't (e.g. your previous OS installation & drivers...).
Note: If you want to see how your system would behave with lower-rez files (all else (most things) being equal I mean, like camera model...), just build smart previews and then take your photos offline (e.g. rename the source folder they're in). How many of those (2560 pixels, long edge) smart previews can you export?

Is Adobe working on this bug?
Constantly (in other words, memory management and assuring deallocation is a part of every programmer's daily concerns, or should be anyway... - dunno if there is a particular bug they are working on...).

Is it Win7 32-Bit (that's where I've seen it happen). I would report it as a bug at the official Adobe site:

yeah, in itunes if you select your phone, you should get tabs across the top for what to sync, under photos uncheck the box
EDIT: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236 is the link to a apple support document with information on syncing photos using itunes.

  • Critical issue with exporting images in iPhoto 08?

I have been exporting selected photos to a thumb drive under iPhoto 06. I then take the thumb drive and put it in a pioneer palsma and go to GALLERY mode. Works fantastic and I can then review the images with my clients. Never had a problem with iPhoto 06. I upgraded to iPhoto 08 recently and export selected photos to the thumbdrive under the new upgrade. When I go to Gallery mode on the plasma the photos do not come up and it hangs up the plasma..... ??? Seems to be a problem somewhere with what "08" does with the photos? I ran a number of different test with two different thumb drives using photos from iPhoto 08 and cannot get them to work. I go back to an old iMac that was not upgraded to iPhoto 08 and both thumb drives they work fine on the plasma. In fact it is almost impossible to mess the operation up with "06". I have tried to export the photos in "08" in all the various size options and still no success. I would appreciate any help to this critical problem I am facing since I use this function of showing my images on a plasma on a daily basis . After about 10 to 12 hours of working htis problem I am totally loss as what to do. Thanks for your time.

    Thanks for your reply.
    1. I select the photos from iPhoto - varied between 5 and 20 (ran different test)
    2. Click on FILE
    3. Select EXPORT
    4. Under the FILE EXPORT tab I have tried all the various options with no success
    5. KIND - I make sure they are JPEG files - I have tried the Original also which is actually JPEG files
    6. JPEG QUALITY - I have tried all 4 options from LOW to MAX
    7. SIZE - I tried all 4 size options from SMALL to FULL
    8. FILE NAME - I use filename
    9. Select EXPORT tab
    10. I export to the thumbdrive and I chcek and they are on the thumbdrive
    11. I also tried to EXPORT to the desktop and copy them to the thumbdrive
I click on the photos on the exported images I placed on the thumb drive and they come up fine on PREVIEW on my MAC. No prroblem with the images until I try to use them on the plasma. I go back and use images from iPhoto 06 that I did not call up with the "08" program and they work fine.
Hope that explains what I do. Thanks again

  • Why can I no longer export images in Numbers to Excel?

    Numbers 3.2.2
    MacBook Air 1.3GHz i5; Memory 4Gb 1600MHz DDR3
    OS X updated 24 September 2014
In previous versions I have been able to export images within the Numbers file to and  Excel file.  I was able to do this up to three weeks ago!
Now when I export to Excel the Images are being removed.  This is extremely inconvenient as I use this product to generate reports to my executives across Asia and this is no longer possible with this product.  Every other member uses Excel for this report and I am not on the outside, unable to participate fully in the conversations or modifications to critical performance reports!
Would you please advise how I can now continue to use Numbers to:
         a.  Generate this report type
         b.  Review reports provided to me
         c.  Update and return reports provided for review and contributions?
    Thank you
    Dean Turner OAM

    Dean,
    1) I suggest if your job depends on a particular tool you that tool.  My suggestion is to purchase Excel and use the same tool as everyone else.  For times then you need not share with other use Excel.
    2)  I dropped an image in a Numbers file then exported to excel using the menu item "File > Export To > Excel..." then opened the file in LibreOffice (a free office clone).  That worked fine.  So I cannot confirm your reported problem.  Can you share what version of Numbers you are using?  Have you tried restarting your computer? What about have your tried a simple test where you create a new document, then drop a picture into that file and then export to excel?  Maybe the document you are using is corrupt.

  • Moved files between project, lost thumbnails, cannot see images anymore

    Hi,
I moved 1902 images from one Project to another, but that didn't work very successful.
I have now all the 1902 still in the original Prject but I see no thumbnails and selecting it says that it cannot show the image (red background).
I can neither see them in the new project, well some ~5% I can see, but the rest are just grey icons. If I try to edit one, it shows nothing.
Is there a way to sort of "check" the library and rebuild the thumbnails?

I am running 1.1.2 but have not yet upgraded to 10.4.7
I cannot export those pictures, because they now completly disappeared after I started Aperture with cmd/opt.
When I looked into the aperture library the missing pictures had the CR2 file missing in the folder. So I doubt I would have been able to actually export the original file.

  • Exporting images from the Captivate 5 Library

I am able to export Captivate 4 images to a folder. I am able to export Captivate 5 images to a folder, but they cannot be opened with Fireworks or any other application I've tried. Although the file is a bmp, Fireworks says, "Could not open the file. Unknown file type." Am I the only one experiencing this problem?
    thomas

Yes. I can right-click and edit a background in Fireworks, but what I'm talking about here is different. Captivate has long offered the option to export images from the library. This has been, and still is easy. The difference is that it doesn't work. The exported files are not readable.

  • Export images at BEST quality

When you export images form Fash, File/Export/Export image/png (i.e.), the default quality is HIGH (and you can`t change it), but I'd like to export in BEST quality, however there is no control over quality.
the best way at this moment is taking a screen shot from a swf, very awkward and unprofessional metod (worse, you cannot do it with alpha channel)
    Any suggestion?
    Thanx in advance

You are mislead, a png uses a lossless compression whereas a screenshot of a swf went through jpg-encoding (lossy).
Event the "Best"(100%) JPG Quality is worse(in terms of prevserving the original) than the "high" PNG Quality

  • Is it possible to export images, pdf?

Is it possible exporting of images, pdfs..etc?
    venkat

    Hi Vencky,
We CANNOT Syndicate IMAGES AND PDF's from MDM..
BUt whenever you download data from DataManager MDM will automatically create a folder for Images and store all Images in it.
Downloaded Record file will have Name of Image and PDF.

  • IBooks cannot export

    Hi Guys.
The iBooks Author cannot export my book because we have non-optimized media. My question is: Where can I Know where is the media non-optimized!?
    See printscreen: http://cl.ly/image/3e1N2s1o262i/o
It's in Portuguese and says something like: Cannot export for .iBook format because we have 2 files non-optimized, please correct this and try again.
    Thanks,
    Lucas

So, let the process optimize the assets. If they won't cooperate, remove them and replace them with proper files.

  • If exporting images for backup, to reimport into a clean aperture or other program, is it best to use 72 dpi or 300 dpi, or does it matter?

If exporting images for backup, to reimport into a clean aperture or other program, is it better to use 72 dpi or 300 dpi, or does it matter?  I want the best quality for any future unforeseen use.

I am somewhat reluctant to answer your questions after Frank Caggiano's excellent advice, but I really do not like to leave the question open, for there will be many occasions when you will need to export images and to understand how it works.
But please, follow Frank's advice, right now you do not need to worry about pixels and dpi. That is exactly what I meant, when I suggested to you to make sure you keep a copy of your Aperture Library and to back it up with all your other data, before you erase your disk for a clean reinstall.
    DPI revisited:
So, is the dpi setting only for exporting to print?
The dpi settings are necessary to define the size of a digital image, since pixels don't have any dimensions. And since you cannot print or display an image without knowing its width and height, you will need to specify dpi when you are printing or scanning.
If I leave it at the default 72dpi will there be any problems getting quality prints in the future from jpeg versions exported with that setting?
Not if you export with the original size - the maximum number of pixels available. That will ensure the maximum print quality.
The dpi settings are required to export versions; versions are derived from the masters and new image files are computed. When you export masters you get a copy of the original file that already may have a dpi setting.
If I choose "export masters", will aperture will export my masters just as they are?
yes, and  you may add IPICT data if you choose
Pardon my thick skull--I'm an old dog trying to learn new tricks in this digital world!
No apologies necessary, we were all beginners once
Here is another example, maybe that helps a little:
I exported an image (jpeg) with three different setting: export masters, a version with 72dpi, a version with 300dpi and inspected the files in Graphic Converter:
The master was exported like this:
Notice, the master had already dpi settings, although I did not specify any on export.
The size is 51,48 cm x 38,61 cm.
The 72 dpi Version has larger dimensions, but also 10 Megapixels.
and here the 300 dpi version: smaller dimensions, same amount of pixels.

  • Export image from smartform

    Hi Experts,
For importing we use SE78 & upload image, How to export image from SAP to our presenation server?
In Smartforms, I have an image in color, it need to be downloaded for further modificatons.
Please give me useful solution for it.
    Thank you.

Hi i think you cannot download pictures loaded into SE78, the only possiblity(iam not sure) is to print the image from SE78 into a PDF file and then copy the picture into some image editing tool like MS-Paint.

  • Can´t export image to PS

Hi, I bought LR + PS CC. I cannot export photo from Lightroom 5 to PS CC (2014). I used to export photo from Lightroom to PS. It made 16bit TIFF, open PS and next open the photo. But it
doesn´t  work in this new LR and PS CC 2014. If I click "edit in Photoshop CC" it only open Photoshop, but not create TIFF and not open photo in Photoshop. I can only open image as a smart object. Please help me. Thank you.

You will need to export the RAW file first.
There are several threads on the other Aperture forum, as this is the book one.
I too initially missed the vignette tool. However, once I learned how to do an even better job with an adjustment layer in CS2 I no longer miss it.. I learn this from Russell Brown, he is a funny guy with great FREE CS2 tutorials. See this one: http://av.adobe.com/russellbrown/LightingWithLayersSM.mov the technique is towards in the second half of the video.
This adjustment layer is VERY powerful and gives you much more control over the vignetting in ACR or lens correction filter.
See the plethora of tips from Russell on his website: http://russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html
Besides, the vignette tool in ACR only applied to the original image and not the crop and most finished formats are not 2x3 but 4x5, so I find it is best to crop and apply vignettes in CS2. PLUS you can keep that adjustment layer in the PSD file that get saved back in Aperture so it is non destructive and can easily be reopened for later adjustment.

  • Exporting Image in Flash Pro. CS6

I drew something in Flash and i am wanting to export it or save it as a picture file. Preferably a JPEG. It is drawn on an Actionscript 2.0 File. I cannot save it as a picture, and if I try and export it, the colors are super dark and the picture is not lined up. Is there a way I can make it into a simple picture.

    click file>export>export image>jpg
edit in ps if it's too dark.

  • Exported Image Doesn't Match Export Presets After Use of Straightening Tool

Unlike my experience with previous versions, in Aperture 2.1, after applying the "Straightening Tool", I cannot get an exported image to match the dimensions set for "Export Preset." The results are a reduction in size.
It appears that the output is being based within the rectangular confines defined by the out of view corners of the rotated image rather than that of what is actually being displayed.
Is there a new method I am missing or is this a bug?

So, like really, no one has experienced this problem?
The resulting dimensions of the exported image, which was rotated by the "Straightening Tool" are smaller than that of the export image, of the same picture, not rotated, but with the same "Export Preset" selected.
    Example:
I want all my exported images to be a dimension of 200 x 300 pixels. Those exported without the "Straightening Tool" applied are exactly 200 x 300. Those, say with a 10º "Rotate" applied to the original and, exported with the same "Export Preset" dimensions, result in an image which is 145 x 216 pixels in dimension.
This is very unlike Aperture 1.5.6, in which the exported output of both image versions would be identical, at 200 x 300 pixels in dimension.
