Cannot export project to video

Hello all. I was previously using Premiere Elements4 and just upgraded to 9. I opened up a project I created in 4 and went to export it but when I go to File>Export, the Export option is gray and not selectable. All I want to do is export it to an AVI file so I can burn it along with others to a dvd later.
Why the heck can't I select Export?

In newer versions of the program, the export features have been moved to the Share tab.
Use Share/Computer/AVI and you'll get a DV-AVI from your project.

thanks Tom - what do you think re whether it's worth getting Compressor just for the benefit of contining working on editing the next project? (i.e. noting you mentioned some performance issues)
Still might be worth it for me being able to some some level of editing in the next project even if the responsiveness is a bit slower?

Updated to 2014 and cannot export project

I'm not an expert. I desperately need help. I'm using Premiere Pro CS6 (just updated yesterday to 2014, creative cloud, on Mac OS 10.9.4) to make a tribute video for my dad's memorial service and need to export it immediately! (by tomorrow). I've successfully used premiere pro CS6 for other projects this year, and just upgraded yesterday to the new version and worked for 15 hours to finish my project in the new version. Now I can't open my completed project in the older version.
When I went to export it, it freezes at "2% of 1st pass" and after an hour or so, my entire computer freezes and I have to force shut it down. (I am not having this computer issue with any other application that I use.) I continued to re-try to export it (with slightly different settings) 5 times, and now "export" under File is grayed out.
As far as export settings, please bear with me - I'm a novice. Every time I do ANYTHING in Premiere Pro, I pretty much have to search for a tutorial video for each step. From what I can 'remember', here's what I did:
1. rendered project from "in to out"
2. Export > media
3. chose h.264 (or something like that)
4. i think i selected something like "match sequence settings"
5. checked "render at maximum bitrate" (or high bitrate?)
6. selected "2 pass"
7. on the two slider things - about bitrate something, the bottom one I slid all the way to the right because that didn't affect the size of my project file, the top slider I only moved over to 14-ish. (I changed this setting each time I re-tried to export, in case it was the problem)
My file size was around 1400MB - its a 14 minute long project with video and still images put to music and voice over.
I'm really freaking out. If anyone is awake, reading this, and knows what to do, please help me!

Do clips need to be rendered before exporting project to video camera?

I am in the process of exporting an Imovie project back to my video camera for storage on a tape. When I start the export process I get a message that says clips need to be rendered prior to exporting. When I click the button to render clips Imovie goes through the process of rendering the clips and after several minutes the Imovie project starts to export to the camera and runs for about 2 seconds and the Imovie quits.
Imovie also gives the option of not rendering the clips.
Do i need to render the clips before exporting them to my video camera?

Does the project reside on an external drive? If so, make sure the drive uses the Mac OS Extended disk format, which iMovie requires.

The crashes are most likely occurring because of external factors, not because of a flawed rendering routine. These can include the wrong disk format, QuickTime add-ons and obsolete iMovie plug-ins.

Do i need to render the clips before exporting them to my video camera?
It may depend on what type of clips they are. If they are photos imported with the Ken Burn checkbox turned OFF — which are not rendered as they are imported — iMovie will ask to render them. Do NOT allow iMovie to render the photos at this time for there's a bug that adds lots of jaggies to the images, reducing their quality.

Cannot Export iPhone 5 Videos to HD

I recently finished editing video shot on an iPhone 5, which I then attempted to export as a 720p HD Flash video. I uploaded it to YouTube and then discovered that it was in 360p, and only one of the titles/blocks of text was clear. Can someone point out possible causes of the problem? I really need this to be in HD. Thanks in advance.

1. Are you still working on Premiere Elements 11 Window 7 or 8 64 bit computer?
2. If you are using iPhone 5 video, what are you using
a. Camera 1080p30
or
b. FaceTime 720p30
and what did you set as the project preset for this project so that the project preset matches the properties of the source media?
3. You mention what seems to be an Adobe Flash Video export...

with preset = F4V - HD 720p (Flash 9 and Higher)
That preset uses as default 1280 x 720 frame size and frame rate = Same As Source.
4. In view of all that, how did you arrive at

Where are you see this "360p"? From the way this is written, you uploaded your F4V file exported from Premiere Elements 11 Windows to YouTube at the YouTube web site. Why did you select the Adobe Flash Video for this task?
5. Please consider
a. project set up with project preset to match the properties of what you have
b. if you want to upload a file to YouTube at the YouTube web site, look at
Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with preset of YouTube Widescreen HD. That will get you a H.264.mp4 file (1280 x 720 at 29.97 progressive frames per second). If you want 1920 x 1080 at 29.97 progressive frames per second, then go under the Advanced Button of the preset and customize the settings.

Cannot export video clips. Get message: "unable to create video for export"

Cannot export video clips from iPhoto to Finder folder. Export fails with message "unable to create video for export: "
The video clips play correctly within iPhoto.
Software: iPhoto version 9.5 on OSX 10.9
Hardware: Retina Macbook Pro 2.3 i7 8GB

Yes. I have 3,184 video clips in this library. I tested Reveal function by randomly selecting individual video clips and in every case the Reveal in Finder function worked correctly. I also tested this on random selections of groups of video clips and, again, the Reveal function worked correctly in every case.
Some more info that may be relevant:
I have multiple iPhoto libraries. My "main" library is very large (~30,000 files) and is located on an external hard drive (2TB WD) which is connected via USB.
The problem reported here is occuring on that "main" library. I have not opened any other iPhoto library since installing the new release.
While the File>Export function does not work, I have been able to simply copy and paste video clips from iPhoto library to a folder on Mac hard drive. It appears that meta data is copying correctly along with the video content.
I am able to import these copied video clips to iMovie. Meta data is imported along with the video content and I'm able to perform iMovie editing functions on those clips without any problems.
In summary, the File>Export function still fails with the message "unable to create video for export." Copying video clips and pasting them to interim folder seems to be a viable workaround enabling me to extract video clips from iPhoto for import to iMovie. I will run additional tests to see if I can find a pattern to the video files that are being rejected by iPhoto Export function.

Cannot export video: AME cannot read from source, Installation Error

Ok, I've seen a lot of people on here talk about this and I have tried using their solutions but nothing has worked.
I cannot export anything from Premier Pro using Media Encoder. When I try, I get an yellow warning sign saying that it cannot read from the source, and when I close out of it I get a message saying that there is an installation error and that I need to make sure it is installed correctly. I have uninstalled and re-installed ALL of my Adobe products about three times this past weekend trying to fix it and nothing has worked. I have tried making sure that there are no blank spaces in my project, I have named it several different things, I have moved it from my external drive to my main drive, to a different external drive, etc.
I am using a Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard, all of my software has been updated, and I am very frustrated.
Help?

Well, it was worth a shot, as externals/network drives have been known to cause similar.
Now, there were issues with Encore and Snow Leopard, but I do not recall all of the details, as I am a PC-guy, and have to admit that first I do not know squat about Macs, and probably do not read Mac threads as closely, as I should. Seems that Apple was working on an update to Snow Leopard, and again from recollection, it seems that that update helped several on the Encore forum. Have you updated Snow Leopard?
Sorry to just sit here guessing, and probably wasting valuable time for you, but until a Mac-user with the "fix" comes along, the PC-community will try to help. Be patient with us though. Our intentions are good ones, but our expertise is lacking - at least in MY case.

If you want help you need to do more than state an abstract problem - we need details - what can't it? what makes you thing it can't? what errors occur? what are the symptoms?
Your post is like "my car won't start" - with no details it could be anything from having lost the key to gas - you have to provie details

Cannot export video from iPhoto

cannot export a video taken from an iphone. from iphoto to anything, it saves it as a 0.00 second movie file.
and yes before you ask i am changing it to original file :/

The problem is that iPhoto is looking in the wrong place for the file:
/ Volumes/Sagate/Iphoto_Library_2014.photolibrary/Previews/2014....... "
It should be looking in the Originals folder.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Aperture cannot export multiple projects for original files

i want to export projects (original files) to time capsule folder for sharing
i can only go into the individual projects, select all, then export to my desire location
but i cannot select multiple projects and do it at once, as i have 100+ projects
it will be a nightmare if i go projects by projects

That is what the Export settings in my screenshot should give you, if you select the images from several projects at once and export using "File > Export > Originals".
Only you have to select the images inside the projects, not the projects in "Projects" view. Move the projects to a containing folder and select all images in the folder, or select all photos in the "Photos" view.

Media Encoder Update problem - cannot export video

Hi, I just obtained a student license of Premiere Pro CS4, and I have a critical problem, I cannot export any videos.
Every time I go to export a sequence, Premiere reminds me to update the media encoder.

I have done both as instructed, and successfully installed the latest update to media encoder, but Premiere still fails to export any video, or even open Media Encoder. I do not have this problem on my laptop, only on my home computer.
I'm running Windows Vista, I have not installed any previous versions of premiere, my system spec is dual core 3ghz, 4gb ram, nvidia 8600gt.

Cannot export videos into iPod format?????

I have Quicktime Pro, and recently exported some 15 video or so into iPod format, then imported them into iTunes for storage on my 60 GB iPod 5G. Imagine my surprise to find the error message that some of the videos, including all but three of the ones I exported,cannot be played on my iPod. I even tried using iTunes to re-export the videos in iPod format, to no avail.
What's the deal? I thought the "export to iPod" option in Quicktime Pro 7.1.2 and the "convert selection to iPod" function in iTunes was so that I could vide my videos on this iPod. Why is this no longer working?????

There are some files (such as MPEG-1 and those with muxed audio) that Quicktime has trouble converting. I use iSquint for converting videos for my iPod, and it works great. It's faster than Quicktime, and it's also free!

I cannot export my project from Final Cut. All the options are disabled. Can anybody help me?

I have the latest version of FCPX and the final version of Compressor. I have my project ready but I cannot export because everything (Compressor, DVD, MasterFile etc.) is disabled. I need to export this project ASAP.
P.S. This is the first export that I am trying to do on a new iMac, with OS X Yosemite.

Pixelated video when export projects using QUICKTIME COMPRSESION.

I'm having problems to export projects using QUICKTIME COMPRSESION. When I select either "quicktime movie" or "AVI", the result is a totally pixelated picture. I tried to do some settings in order to fix this problem but still doing the same. Make a note that only happens when I use QUICK TIME COMPRESION. It works fine when I select "quicktime movie" directly from export menu. i can use this to work onmy MAC but. it will not work with Vegas or whatsoever. SOME HELP WILL BE APRECIATED.

Yes, vegas support Qt, The problem is exporting from FCP a pixelated video.
