Cannot Fill a form in 9.2.  Security setting is fill forms allowable.

I have a document filled that is time sensitive.  When I try to type, the I-Beam does not move.  I checked the security property settings it shows that filling of forms is allowed.

The security settings just tell you that if it were a fillable form, you would be allowed to fill it.
Choose the hand tool, mouse over a field. Does it change to an ibeam? If not, you need to print it out and fill it in by hand.

  • Cannot upload photos to website, maybe a security setting?

    OS X 10.9.3
Safari and Mozilla both failed to upload my photos to website www.castleknockceltic.com

No anti virus software or monitoring apps. It only became an issue in the past couple of months, before which there was no problem. I have tried restore under Time Machine, but to no avail.

  • IPad 2 in a secure setting

Hello all! We have a very unique situation in our school setting and are looking for input.  I teach at a juvenile detention center. Our district is starting the process of a one-to-one iPad initiative.  We are hoping to somehow include iPads, but have several unique issues.  We will not have 1:1 iPads but will have one or two classroom sets.  We are in a VERY secure setting - students are not allowed to speak to each other, they cannot get up without permission, they basically need to have permission to do everything.  We have concerns about monitoring their use of the device - how do we make sure they are not going to inappropriate sites or trying to make outside contact etc, sending messages to peers.... We also have questions about how students can turn in their work.  We cannot create emails for students - this is a major security issue - so how could we do it?  Any suggestions or advice you have would be great! We want to smooth this out BEFORE we put iPads in our students hands.

Based on what you are trying to do, i am not sure you will ever find the pad as a happy answer.  The nature of the device is to promote consumption of data, and as designed as a single peron device, assumes you want access to your device.
A lot of schools use the classroom shared approach, so that wil work.  I know of no programs that will let you monitor the actual screens as they are used.  You can block access to certain sites, or the entire internet through your gateway server, but anything short of a total block means a perpetual game on trying to keep up with that they are finding.
Side issue, and not mentioned, while a desk top computer can be easily shared, they are also kind of heavy and tend to stay on the desk.  The pad is extremely portable, and very fragile. Easy to drop or otherwise break.
    Good luck.

  • ?? Cannot Fill Form

I received a form from Shell USA for compensation.
The form is fillable: the security setting tells me that it is allowable to fill. The pointer can be directed to fillable fields, but I cannot type anything.I tried many diffeernt methods in vain.
I have Windows XP and Adobe reader 9.
I can copy the form in Word and fill it, but I cannot then return it in PDF.
Since this seems a very common problem there must be a simple solution ( by the way I am not going to sownload 800Mbytes of PDF adobe professional!
    Any help would be welcome,
    marco

As I commented in other threads, I researched the idea of deploying a web-fillable form in the most current versions of Adobe Acrobat and Reader ... and found it to be unreliable and intermittent (therefore, utterly useless) in its behavior.  Adobe Reader would randomly say that "the document has been changed, blah blah, contact the author for an updated copy," and refuse to allow the form to be filled.  But if you reload the page two or three times, suddenly it would work.
Obviously, this behavior is intentionally caused by "yet another one of Adobe's strange we-own-the-world license checks," poorly and incorrectly implemented.  We cannot deploy a solution to hundreds of stores that is not as perfectly reliable in Reader as it is on the developer machines that use Acrobat.  Therefore, I quickly recommended that my proposal should be abandoned in favor of ordinary web-based input screens ... a technology which we know to actually be reliable.
I would very frankly recommend that you do the same:  it doesn't actually work.  It had great promise, and technically the implementation is obviously solid, but Adobe's lawyers (and insufficient software quality-assurance) renders it non-viable.  (It is also worth observing that Adobe says absolutely nothing to a software developer about what sort of license-controls they actually have in place.  There's even talk in these forums about a "usage count" that drops-dead after 400 or 500 iterations.)
The "good" news is that this saved our company quite a lot of Adobe Acrobat software-upgrade expense:  we don't need to buy and deploy new product to take advantage of a feature that doesn't actually meet practical business requirements.
This is, by the way, not a "rant."  Business is business, and the only way to win the game is to actually cross that finish-line first.

  • Adobe Acrobat form created and emailed but recipient cannot save the form in reader after filling it out

When I purchased Acrobat today, the Adobe sales rep told me I could create fill-in forms that I could email to others, who could fill them out using Adobe Reader.  When the recipient tried to save the completed form, he was unable to save it to his computer, only able to print.  Is this correct, or is there a step we are unaware of?  He owns Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, but I'm using Acrobat 11 (purchased it today).  Acrobat Pro 9 cannot open the forms I sent...  now we are stuck.
    Solutions?

    Hi DMOliver,
Please try saving the form as 'Reader Extended' and check.

  • Cannot fill in forms sent to me in PDF

recently loaded OS 10.5and iworks 8. Now I find that I cannot fill in forms sent to me by mail as a PDF attatchment.

If a PDF was actually produced as a full-featured form with editable fields, the free Adobe Reader and OS X’s own Preview let you fill in those fields. If it was a poor job of creating the form, those might not work. In those cases try FormulatePro. Though considered a beta by the developer, it seems to work just fine.

Click the orange Firefox button and go to Options | Options | Privacy and checkmark "'''Remember Search & Form History'''".
Some sites use Flash objects for which you'll need Adobe Flash to be installed. You can download that from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    Sravan.

Hi Sravan, this means that one or more of the fields are required to be filled in or have validation set up on them so that the information entered matches a certain criteria. Make sure what's entered matches what's required. If the form still can't be
submitted, check the rules set in InfoPath and the list/library to see what's causing the error(s).

  • Customized Workspace Cannot open PDF forms anymore

    Hello,
I have customizaed my workspace with Flex Builder 3, Flex SDK 2 Hotfix 3. In previous months, everything is ok, and my workspace with IE 7.0 can open PDF forms inside processes. However, I do not know what is changed, my previous customized workspaces and new customized workspace can not open PDFs inside IE, but works on Mozilla Firefox. I have also tested workspace source without changing anything and deploying my server. However it still can not open PDFs, blank part is shown inside the PDF frame.
It gives an javascript error, 'undefined' is null or not an object is given

    What can be the problem,
Any prompt answers will be appreciated.

PDF forms can be created using Acrobat or LiveCycle but the basic structure of the forms created are very different. If the form is created by Acrobat then Adobe Mobile Reader can open the form. If the form is created by LiveCycle then Adobe Mobile Reader cannot open the form  and I suspect there maybe no iOS app that can process the form.
As noted, you need to use a computer to fill-in the form. You also might want to inform the bank about the issue.

  • Security Setting- How to allow form saving

Is there a security setting that allows those with Reader to save a form after filling it out? I read a snippit somewhere that said there was but I can't find any more info on that.

This is one of the most commonly asked questions on this form... Shame
    there's no FAQ here.
To enable that you need to extend Reader Rights from the Advanced menu of
    Acrobat.

  • Users cannot save Acrobat forms

I've run into a stumbing block with Acrobat 8 Pro and forms.
I have a PDF to which form fields have been added, and in one area, even tallies price totals (it is an advertising contract). Dates format correctly, all works fine. If I send the finished form to another computer running Acrobat Pro (either 7 or 8), I can enter all fields, and save the form. But, if I send it to a user who only has Acrobat Reader, they can enter text in the fields, but cannot save the form. Right now, I have no security or access permissions on the form at all.
Basically, I want the form to work like the tax forms available on the IRS site--that a user can download it, enter the text, save it for their records, and either be able to e-mail it back to us, or to print and fax it.
Is there anything else I need to do?

I would use the DISTRIBUTE option under the FORMS menu since it not only
Reader Enables the PDF but also prepares a response file for collecting
the data. One very, very cool thing - Acrobat 9 can now also collect all
forms responses via Acrobat.com so you can log-in, filter the data,
export to XML / CSV and keep everything in the acrobat.com cloud
