Cannot find a way to edit bookmarks or add new folder as there is not a category edit bookmarks when I pull down the bookmark menu
Updated to firefox 4.0 and can't find either the edit bookmarks or add new folder.
I forgot that you are using a Mac. Please read this article:

Right click on "Bookmark Menu" and you should see a "New Folder" option.

When I used Internet Explorer and used the pull-down menu, the categories I set up displayed and the bookmarks under each category displayed as well. I've now set up folders in Firefox under "uncategorized bookmarks," but when I pull down Bookmarks, neither the categories nor the bookmarks appear. Have I set up the categories properly? If so, how can I make the sorted bookmarks appear?

I cannot seem to change my account picture on OS 10.8. There is not option to "edit picture"
Under system preferences > users and groups, i click on my account picture but there is no "edit picture" selectable. I can only choose the max default pictures or take a snapshot. How do I go about doing it? Is this a bug? Thanks!
NormNot sure what you think you mean by "edit".
You can drang-and-drop a new picture into the well.
You can hit the Delete key to remove the pictiure after clicking on it.
You can click the downward pointing arrow, choose Recent, and then press the pencil button to change the zoom or centeringi of the existing picture. -
In V3, in Chrome and in Explorer this works fine. I open an eteamz site, any pulldown that I access the choices are way down on the screen. When I try to scroll through the choices I cannot with the mouse I can with the arrows.
Recently, the Yahoo Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to overlap invisibly over the top of the web page display. If you have either or both, uninstall or disable them/it, or see if an update is available that solves the problem.

i cannot find a way to update my itunes to 10.6.8. i need this in order to sync my new ipod. i just updated to 10.6.3.help!
As Limnos says, you first need to update to OS X 10.6.8 before you can install iTunes 11 (please note the version numbers).
To update OS X close all running applications and make sure you have a current backup. Then pull down the Apple menu and select Software Update. This may show you several items that you can update. Choose OS X 10.6.8. This may take some time. After the process is complete you will be able to run Software Update again and it ought to offer you iTunes 11. -
I am trying to install the update on iPhoto on my newMac laptop. It tell me to go to finder and hit the "go meu" in the finder. pulled down the go menu at the top of the screen and the finder icon on the bottom of ther screen. Where is this "go menu? Apple used to be inutitive - it is getting as hard to operate as Microsfot was in the beginning of the 200s.

I have a lot of various book mark folders with websites contained within each folder. I am able to sort the websites within each folder alphabetically by name but I cannot find a way to sort the bookmark folders themselves alphabetically by name.I am not talking about in a view mode but in the way they are displayed when I click on my bookmarks tab. Can someone explain to me how to accomplish this other than manually dragging them as this is extremely hard for me due to the fact that I am a quadriplegic with limited hand movement dexterity
Bookmark folders that you created are in the Bookmarks Menu folder. "Sort" that folder.

i do not like inbox search and want to use google but i cannot find any way to remove inbox--in fact when i search for it to remove you would think it is not there--but it is and i cant get it off. anyone know how? edit
DetailsWhat you should see on a restart is a black screen followed by a screen with the Apple (at which point you let go of the two buttons). There is no progress bar, just the Apple. The Apple will stay there for 15 seconds or so, then the "Slide to Unlock" screen will redisplay.
But, I don't think the reset will fix it for you. I just tested it, and it comes back on with the zoom still on. The only way to get it to zoom out is the tapping with the 3 fingers.
I said to double-tap....MY BAD! You need to triple-tap with three fingers!
Try that and see if it will display the zoom menu for you, or if it will zoom back out.

I cannot find a way to authorize my new computer to play previously purchased music from itunes. The directions say to click on STORE menu, but I don't see that option.
Go to the Store menu item on the menu bar, and choose Authorize This Computer, as shown below.
If by any chance you don't see the menu bar (File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help), first enable it by using CTRL+B. -
Downloads used to open after download. NOw they just end up in the download folder and I have to go to the folder to find it and open it. I did not change seettings, maybe an update changed it? I cannot find a way to change this in settings.

want to use icloud on my macbook and cant because I am using OSX10.6.8 - I want to upgrade this but I cant upgrade to mountain lion as my mac does not support this - cannot find a way to go to Version 10.7.4 which i understand supports icloud - help to do this please
If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.

The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

I recently downloaded Mlountain Lion on my Imac. It shows that I have an update for Evernote that should be downloaded, but I cannot find out how to complete this update. It asks for me to sign in with my email address, but does not show how to do this. Please help!
I have done exactly what you said. When I check "update", a screen drops down that asks that I enter my email address to continue........but i cannot find any way to do this.
In the past, all I would do is check "update", and the update would take place. Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, this has changed, and i do not know how to do this simple thing.......the app store shows an update is due to be updated, but i cannot find out how to do it. -

That's probably not a good idea to try to share apps since you will have to switch ID's each time you update apps and sync apps from iTunes.
And technically - according to Apple's terms - you cannot share apps using different ID's. You can actually lock yourself out of an ID for 90 days if you switch ID's and if you associate the iPad with another ID.

I am using a MacBook Pro. I simply cannot find a way to attach images adjusted in Lightroom as attachments and/or without massive degradation in quality. I follow the LR attach email process as specified by LR, the photos appear in the email seemingly embedded and the recipients of the email cannot save the attachment.

Have never used anything like that though. My wife has a 2008 MBP 15” with gloss and I can say it is a nice screen finish, you just have to be careful of lighting from behind you. All my iMacs were glossy and I did learn to compensate for the added brilliance the screen brought to the photos. The new soft proofing feature of LR5 seems to better estimate the level of brightness of the printed work, compared to past versions of the s/ware.
In any case, in my opinion you really can’t go wrong with the apple product. I bought my first iMac in mid 1999 and have never looked back. I donated that machine to a pre-school in 2008, it was running OSX version 2 or 3 I think. I did run Photoshop 7.0 on an IBM laptop for a time (windows XP). I think I had one of the very first versions of Adobe Camera Raw on that machine. I digress, sorry.
The chat representative did confirm that the 17” is out of production and I’m guessing Apple found the market for the big laptop just wasn’t there. They did mention that 17” MBP’s show up as “certified refurbished” units from time to time. Suggest you might explore that option with a local Apple store in the UK, assuming Apple has store front operations off this continent of course.
