Cannot find adobe post script fonts inside Photoshop

I have a couple of Adobe Post Script fonts installed using Adobe Type Manager. I'm using Windows Vista Enterprise. First of all, is this C:\PSFONTS and C:\PSFONTS\PFM\ the correct location for Adobe fonts under Windows Vista? I just installed about four Adobe post script fonts using Type Manager and it does not show up any of Adobe's product including Photoshop and LiveCycle. I also went back into Adobe Type Manager and look at the fonts that I just installed under the Fonts tab and I could not find it.
Any suggestion where I can the Adobe post script fonts and how do I install so that I can find it in Photoshop CS3?

*uggh* ATM? This product has not been updated in eons and was no longer required ever since Windows 2000 (which natively supported PostScript fonts), so what would you do with it in Vista? Install the fonts in your normal Windows Font directory or the Adobe fonts directory. You can use tools like Typograf (www.neuber.com)to facilitate the process.

  • Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro: Cannot find or create the font 'Arial'.

I have two workstations both running Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro, both have the font Arial installed and working just fine in other applications.
I have a pdf file from a customer which opens fine in one workstation, the other workstation gives the following error and shows all text in the pdf as "dots".
Cannot find or create the font 'Arial'. Some characters may not display or print correctly.
I've Googled "Cannot find or create the font" and find this problem has been reported in Adobe forums and elsewhere in several previous versions of Adobe Acrobat. Nowhere is the problem resolved... most responses suggest the font Arial is not installed which is not helpful as the Arial font is indeed working fine in other applications.
    Windows XP/ Adobe CS3 / Adobe 8.1.2 Professional
    Thanks,

I am having the same problem Sam is. I only see dots in my document and received the same error mesage only I was using a different font. The font is installed on y system and usable in other documents.
I tried to change the font (dots) to a different font but received an error messge stating the change could not be done because the "chosen font and the font encodings in the document differ and could not be resolved"
    Please help!
    Thanks so much!

  • Error Message:"Cannot find or create the font 'WP-MathA'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."  Who can help me solve this problem?

Some of the pdf files I work with (receive) come up with a comment: “Cannot find or create the font ‘WP-MathA’. Some characters may not display or print correctly.”  Who can help me solve this problem?
Thank you in advance for  your time.

    Hello Anubha,
I am having a similar problem on my machine.  I was using Word 2008 and I created a PDF inside Word.
I am opening the file on the system itself and I am running Windows 8.1.  I am using Version 11 of Reader.
When the PDF I created (my resume) attempts to open, it says:  cannot find or create the file Times, Bold.  Some characters may not display or print correctly.
However, the entire Reader keeps freezing and will not allow me to open or test print the document.  Also, it is not displaying any of the Bold Times New Roman Print.  Can you please help?  Thanks.

  • How do I get to use my printer post script fonts in Illustrator and In Design

I am running the CS2 Suite with Photo Shop, Illustrator, and In Design.  I have purchased a Xerox 8550 post script printer, and it comes with 40 really cool post script fonts. I know that Adobe uses the common files folder in program files to store the fonts, but it dosn't list the fonts that are resident in my printer.  Is there any way that I can tell the common files area that I have these resident fonts, if so, how?
    Thanks,
    Tom

That would be up to the printer driver. When installed, it should create either a full set of PostScript fonts, a set of bitmap placeholder fonts or offer a way to manage fonts on the printer, including downloading them manually - if allowed. The driver is also the place where to look for font substitution rules. Double-check the manual/ help files for the printer, I'm sure it's explained somewhere...

  • Error: Cannot find or create the font '0, Bold'...

I get this error when I try to open a .pdf file that someone sent to me. "Cannot find or create the font '0, Bold'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."
I use gmail and can view the file but as soon as I save it or try to print it and adobe reader opens the file I can't see the any of the letters just lines of dots where the text is supposed to be.
I did a quick search to see if there was already something in the forums or on the web but didn't find anything right away. I would like to print the file so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like the file is corrupt. Try contacting the file's creator.

  • How to install post script fonts in lion?

how do I install post script fonts in lion?

"Font Manager". What do you like best?
In my opinion, the only two worth considering are Suitcase Fusion 3, or FontExplorerX Pro.
You're correct. Can you tell me more about "resource fork"
All Mac files have two parts. A data fork, and a resource fork. Also known as A and B. To make that easier to understand, DOS/Windows only has a data fork for each file or folder. All information is written into one location for that item. Macs have two separate file data parts for each file or folder. Normally, the data is in the data fork (the main body of an image, Word document, etc.). The resource fork is normally used for the desktop icon, file and creation dates, and other simpler metadata.
However, Type 1 fonts and older Mac legacy TrueType fonts had pretty much everything in the resource fork, including the font's binary data. So if the resource fork gets stripped, you end up with nothing left but a file name. As a related example, Apple's .dfont stands for "Data Fork Font". With the now rather obvious meaning the the font's binary data in is the data fork instead of the resource fork.
An easy way around the problem is to take a Mac formatted flash drive and copy the fonts onto that drive directly from the Mac the fonts are on. Then copy them onto the new Mac from the flash drive.

  • Cannot find Adobe Encore

I am an adobe Cloud Member and Premiere pro user
I updated the premiere pro family and cannot find adobe encore
I am running on a 64 bit mac pro running 10.8.3
hah anyone else experiance this issue?

According to the Encore page, you can get the "Creative Cloud" or a Premiere subscription.
It is part of the "Premiere" family install.
This thread, one of many, has good information when Encore is "hiding."

  • Cannot find FlexNet folder in /Library with Photoshop CS5.1

    Hi,
I'm running the trial version of Photoshop CS5.1 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2, however, I cannot find any FlexNet related folder in /Library/Preferences or /Library/Application Supports. Do latest Adobe products such as Photoshop or Acrobat remove FlexNet licensing?
    Thanks.

Thanks Sparkleberry, but it's more complicated than that. I quit Safari, unsynched Safari from iCloud, but nothing changed. Then after about 15 minutes I could access ~/Library/Safari in TM, but only for some of the backups. I Restored from a bookmarks.plist file from December 22, 2014, but it was the wrong bookmarks (completely different from the bookmarks I had on my MBP). I Restored the empty bookmarks file again.
The trouble is, ~/Library/Safari is not available for most of my previous backups, and there were many between December 22 and this evening.
The net problem is that ~/Library/Safari/bookmarks.plist simply don't seem to be available beyond the most recent backup (and the random December 22 file).
I read somewhere that you can backup from iCloud backups, but I try as I might I cannot find how to do that, if it can be done.
    Thanks!

  • Post Script fonts not working in yosemite! HELP!!!!!

ARRRRRRGH!  I have a ton of Adobe postscript fonts on my mac, that were running FINE on yosemite 10.10.1, and now that I've upgraded they WONT WORK and I cannot install some of them!  The screen fonts all look like terminal files.  Font book is a joke and I've tried restarting the font cache, but nothing works.  Please help!  I cannot purchase all new fonts!

    Hi Dan,
Going forward, if you are attempting to use Type 1 fonts, either MacOS or Windows flavors, you need to put the font files in the application-specific directories.
For example, for InDesign, you need to go to
            Applications/Adobe InDesign [Version]/Fonts
where [Version] is CS6, CC, CC 2014, etc. as appropriate. Similarly, you would need to do this for other Adobe applications as well using the other applications' particular private font directories. (Note that if you are dealing with a “packaged” InDesign or Illustrator document, Type 1 fonts in the appropriate fonts subdirectory still continue to work).
Note that for Type 1 fonts, if you are using Windows-flavor Type 1 fonts, you must put both the .pfb and .pfm files in the directory. If you are using MacOS Type 1 fonts, you must put both the outline file and one of the corresponding screen fonts in the directory (the screen font contains font metrics used for layout).
For better or worse, it is really a good time to accelerate migration to cross-platform OpenType fonts.

  • I want to use my webcam on Facebook but cannot find adobe flash, anyone know how I get it ?

I want to use my webcam on my ipad for video calls on facebook. Facebook asks me to get adobe flash but I cannot find it for ipad can anyone tell me how to get it ?

There is no Flash for the iPad. Some folks use apps such as Skyfire, which offer access to Flash through remote servers, but it's capacity is limited. You might be able to use video calls on the Facebook app for iPad.
