Cannot find deployed Remote Bean from external client

I have a very simple Stateless Session bean running in the SAS PE 9, which from what I can see has been successfully deployed. The application is listed as enabled in the Admin Console. Likewise, when I look at the JNDI tree, I can see the following entries at the top:
com.intecbilling.svConnectorHarness.TestRunnerRemote
This is the name of the Remote Interface, that I have defined for the ejb TestRunnerBean. It does very little:
package com.intecbilling.svConnectorHarness;
import javax.ejb.Stateless;
@Stateless
public class TestRunnerBean implements TestRunnerRemote, TestRunnerLocal {
    public void runTest() {
        System.out.println("Running test!");
}and the Remote Interface is
package com.intecbilling.svConnectorHarness;
import java.rmi.RemoteException;
import javax.ejb.Remote;
@Remote
public interface TestRunnerRemote {
    void runTest() throws RemoteException;
}Now, I'm trying to call this runTest() method from an external client. The client code looks like
    public void connectUsingJNDI(String paramName) throws NamingException {
        Properties env = new Properties();
        env.put("java.naming.factory.initial", initialFactory);
        env.put("java.naming.provider.url", providerUrl);
        String myJndi = jndiName;
        if (paramName != null) {
            myJndi = paramName;
        Context ctx = new InitialContext(env);
        System.out.println("looking for " + myJndi);
        Object returnedObject = ctx.lookup(myJndi);
        System.out.println("returnedObject=" + returnedObject);
    }I am using:
- com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory as the initial factory
- iiop://<machineName>:3700 as the url. I'm using 3700 because that is the port against which my appServer's orb-listener-1 is using
I've tried to look for the JNDI name of
com.intecbilling.svConnectoryHarness.TestRunnerRemote
because that is what is displayed in the JNDI View. When I do this, I get the following error:
/svjca-src> runMe.sh com.intecbilling.svConnectorHarness.TestRunnerRemote
looking for com.intecbilling.svConnectorHarness.TestRunnerRemote

Now, no matter what I do, I get this. Running with the AS jars in the classpath or not. Running with the following system variables
-Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.sun.corba.ee.impl.orb.ORBImpl -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=com.sun.corba.ee.impl.orb.ORBSingleton -Djavax.rmi.CORBA.UtilClass=com.sun.corba.ee.impl.javax.rmi.CORBA.Util
Also provide me no joy. I've also tried using the JNDI format with the corbaname embedded in it (looks like corbaname:iiop:machinename:3700#com.intecbilling.svConnectorHarness.TestRunnerRemote) and I get the exact same exception.
From what I'm seeing, I'm finding the remote NamingContext, but it doesn't like the JNDI name. I've tried fully-qualified names (as it is displayed in the JNDI tree) and unqualified names with the exact same results. From all of the posts I've read, I've tried all the various combinations that I can see to no avail. Is there a security issue going on here? I haven't enabled any security at all. I'm running out of ideas, and if I can't get any joy, I'll probably have to use a different app server to play with.
Thanks for any help,
Ed

Hi Ed,
We have an EJB FAQ entry that describes how to access Remote EJBs from a stand-alone (non Java EE) client. In a nutshell, put appserv-rt.jar in your classpath and instantiate the 0-arg InitialContext constructor. You can find more details here :

  • I cannot route to remote subnets from cisco vpn client and pptp client

    Hi guys,
    I've a big problem, I configured a 877 cisco router as a cisco vpn server (the customer use it to connect to his network from pc) and a pptp vpn server (he use it to connet to the network from a smartphone).
    In this router I created 2 vlan, one for wired network (192.168.10.0/24) and the second one (10.0.0.0/24) for wireless clients and I use fastethernet 3 port to connect these to the router.
    this is the issue, when the customer try to connect to a wireless network from both of vpn clients he cannot do this, but if he try to connect to a wired network client all working fine.
    following the addresses taken from the router.
    - encrypted vpn client -
    ip address. 192.168.10.20
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway. none (blank)
    - pptp vpn client -
    ip address. 192.168.10.21
    netmask. 255.255.255.255
    Default Gateway. 192.168.10.21
    Is possible that I cannot reach the remote subnet because the clients doesn't receive a gateway (in the first case) or receive the wrong subnet/gateway (in the second one)..?
    There is anyone can help me..?
    Thank you very much.
    Many Kisses and Kindly Regards..
    Ilaria

    The default gateway on your PC is not the problem, it will always show as the same IP address (this is no different when you dial up to an ISP, your DG will again be set to your negotiated IP address).
    The issue will be routing within the campus network and more importantly on the PIX itself. The campus network needs a route to the VPN pool of addresses that eventually points back to the PIX.
    The issue here is that the PIX will have a default gateway pointing back out towards your laptop. When you establish a VPN and try and go to an Internet address, the PIX is going to route this packet according to its routing table and send it back out the interface it came in on. The PIX won't do this, and the packet will be dropped. Unless you can set the PIX's routing table to forward Internet packets to the campus network, there's no way around this. Of course if you do that then you'll break connectivity thru the PIX for all the internal users.
    The only way to do this is to configure split tunnelling on the PIX, so that packets destined for the Internet are sent directly from your laptop in the clear just like normal, and any packet destined for the campus network is encrypted and sent over the tunnel.
    Here's the format of the command:
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_62/cmdref/tz.htm#1048524

  • Accessing the same stateful session bean from multiple clients in a clustered environment

    I am trying to access the same stateful session bean from multiple
              clients. I also want this bean to have failover support so we want to
              deploy it in a cluster. The following description is how we have tried
              to solve this problem, but it does not seem to be working. Any
              insight would be greatly appreciated!
              I have set up a cluster of three servers. I deployed a stateful
              session bean with in memory replication across the cluster. A client
              obtains a reference to an instance of one of these beans to handle a
              request. Subsequent requests will have to use the same bean and could
              come from various clients. So after using the bean the first client
              stores the handle to the bean (actually the replica aware stub) to be
              used by other clients to be able to obtain the bean. When another
              client retrieves the handle gets the replica aware stub and makes a
              call to the bean the request seems to unpredictably go to any of the
              three servers rather than the primary server hosting that bean. If the
              call goes to the primary server everything seems to work fine the
              session data is available and it gets backed up on the secondary
              server. If it happens to go to the secondary server a bean that has
              the correct session data services the request but gives the error
              <Failed to update the secondary copy of a stateful session bean from
              home:ejb20-statefulSession-TraderHome>. Then any subsequent requests
              to the primary server will not reflect changes made on the secondary
              and vice versa. If the request happens to go to the third server that
              is not hosting an instance of that bean then the client receives an
              error that the bean was not available. From my understanding I thought
              the replica aware stub would know which server is the primary host for
              that bean and send the request there.
              Thanks in advance,
              Justin

              If 'allow-concurrent-call' does exactly what you need, then you don't have a problem,
              do you?
              Except of course if you switch ejb containers. Oh well.

  • Cannot login via ssh/sftp from certain clients

    Hi Guys,
    Strange issue here. I have a machine running 10.7.4 that I want to be able to access via sftp/ssh.
    I can login into the machine in terminal using either ssh or sftp.
    I cannot however login to the machine from finder via sftp. I am just told the username/password is wrong.
    Equally I cannot login to the machine from certain clients on my android phone (the main reason I need sftp)
    I can however login from cyberduck on the other machines I have, and from some clients on my android phone.
    When a mac is denied access it gives authentication failed as the reason, when a android client is denied access it gives network communtaction issues as its reason for failing, not authentication.
    From memory these issues started when smb broke for me in 10.7.3.
    Can any one shed any light on this?
    Cheers

  • Calling a remote bean from JCAPS 5.1.3 JCD

    Hi all,
    we have JCAPS 5.1.3.
    From a JCD we want to call a remote bean that is running on a Glassfish domain.
    Do call the remote bean from a NetBeans project (as a standalone client) I know you have to put the "org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost" and "org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort" in the InitialContext together with the factory. Doing this it works from NetBeans 6.5.1. So we know that our remote beans are accessible and working.
    Doing the same it wont wrok from a JCAPS 5.1.3 JCD. I receive the message that the remote bean cant be found. I know for sure I have configured the ORBInitalHost and Port the same as in NetBeans. It looks like that JCAPS 5.1.3 may use some other InitialContext settings.
    My questions are:
    - which settings I have to put into the InitialContext (in the JCD code or in a local JCAPS 5.1.3 JNDI resource)?
    - which jar files I have to use in JCAPS 5.1.3? The jar files from the remote Glassfish application server or from JCAPS 5.1.3 ( the jars like "appserv-rt.jar")
    - any other thing I have to be aware of?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Experts,
    I got the error "cannot find real path for '/var/install/Client/DATA_UNITS/HDB_CLIENT_LINUX_X86_64/../install/sdbrun': No such file or directory" and "Error during execution of HdbCmdClazz section!" during SAP NW 740 HANA installation. I specified the right path for HDB client (see in attachment).
    Any ideas, please?
    Thanks & best regards,

    The service file is in $srcdir, not $_svnmod/builders/cmake.
    You're using an outdated PKGBUILD template too. The svn source should be included in the source array and not checked out manually during the build process.
    EDIT: since this repository requires authentication, perhaps the correct format won't work.

    Cannot find picture when transferring from Aperture to PSE 11
    I have an older version of PSE and when I transferred a picture from Aperture to PSE9 it would open PSE9 and show the picture.
    I set the Preps in Aperture for PSE 11 and the PSE 11 opens but no picture in the box or photo bin or in the top left "open".
    I changed the Aperture setting to the PSE Organizer and the same thing happened Organizer open BUT there was no picture to be found.
    In Aperture it shows the file being transferred.
    I looked in the PSE 11 preps and file but could not find anything.
    The fact that it opens the PSE 11 app tells me it is being recognized but the picture (file) is going somewhere else.
    Thanks

    Hi Greg
      Make sure you are linking to the application in Support Files and not to an alias.

  • ITunes cannot find music files, confuses inodes, external drive

    I have all my music on an external drive, which is not always connected to the Mac. When I start iTunes w/o the hdd connected iTunes occasionally marks some of the songs as not found. Which is ok so far. BUT if it finds the same inode (of the original file on the external hdd) on the internal hdd it changes the location of the songs to the internal hdd. In my case to files like /Previous System/<some path>/Info.plist. So iTunes thinks the files are still there and cannot play them. After deleting all the Previous Systems files iTunes marks all those files as not found, that is, it does not search for the inode on the external hdd again. Very confusing.
    Yesterday I started from scratch with an empty iTunes Library (I moved the original one) and the problem reoccurred instantly after I imported all my music, quit iTunes, disconnected the external HDD and started iTunes again. So some of my songs are lost, iTunes will never find them again w/o me reimporting them. Also the problem might occur anytime in the future and I seem to not be able to cure it, because iTunes tried to be intelligent. But how it can confuse inodes w/o looking at the device ID and why the songs did not return after I removed the /Previous Systems folder I cannot image.
    I checked the inodes on the internal and external hdd for some of the songs and they were indeed identical. So iTunes seems reset the path/location in the Library DB if it can find the inode of a song which it cannot find by path. Why it does not look at the device id in combination with the inode# is a mystery.
    Some additional details:
    iTunes Music Folder Location: on external hdd
    The Library files are on the internal hdd at ~/Music/iTunes.
    I hope someone can answer that. I do not want to start from scratch every week. I hope my iPod which holds all the songs synchs meta info like play count and rating back as well.
    Kind regards, soryu2.

    And further....
    I went into iTunes to try to download all my purchased music.  Some, but not all, is showing up under iTunes>iTunes Media>Music.  It looks like the library thinks some if the music is there, but it actually is not.
    Seems like my library is corrupted (or something).
    Since I have to upload all music from CD anyway, should I delete my iTunes library and start over, first by downloading all purchased music.

  • Solaris 10 x86 b72 "Cannot find boot.bin" booting from SCSI.

    Hello,
    After several gyrations of installation attempts and dealing with early BIOS PnP issues, I've finally managed to get Solaris 10 x86 installed on an old dual P2 333Mhz system. So far the system is running flawlessly, but I'm still not able to boot directly off the SCSI disk. The primary boot handler is erroring out that it cannot find boot.bin.
    I can boot fine off of the IDE CD drive and the floppy (currently pointed to autoboot into the SCSI disk as a workaround). But when I try to boot directly off the SCSI drive, I get the error from the Solaris boot manager that it "Cannot find boot.bin".
    I have booted off the CD & Floppy and compared the /boot files from both the CD & floppy, but I cannot find any difference that would prevent the primary boot loader from finding boot.bin. I've even compared files to make sure they were not corrupt, and even force re-installed the boot handlers, and manually partioning, always with the same results. I've also tried both enabling and disabling the DOS >1G translation of the Adaptec SCSI BIOS with no change. I can't find any reason that the boot loader is not seeing boot.bin, or that the file is corrupt in any way (even after several wipe and install attempts).
    My System is:
    Supermicro P6DLS dual Pentium II 333MHz & 512MB RAM, w/ Adaptec 7880 SCSI-UW and IDE (whopping UltraDMA 33) interfaces.
    CD/DVD reader is configured as the secondary master (moved from primary master in an attempt to fix boot problem)
    HD is a 16GB UW SCSI disk.
    (Other particulars ommited unless someone feels they are relevant to the boot process).
    The system came to me with Windows 2000 installed and functioning. I also had Fedora Core 3 installed, both with no boot problems of the SCSI disk. (Although FC3 would not see the second processor even with the canned SMP kernel).
    This system is intended to replace a Fedora Core 3 system to be a multi-purpose firewall gateway & proxy server and I'm really liking the performance I'm seeing with Solaris 10 on this system but would like it to be able to go through a normal boot process and not have to depend on a floppy as a boot device to get started.
    Anyone have any ideas why the Solaris x86 boot loaders think that they cannot find boot.bin when the full /boot partion is intact?
    TIA,
    -Troy

    I'm getting the same problem trying to install
    Solaris 10 in VMware from DVD.
    It brings up the Solaris Primary Boot Subsystem, so
    it appears to be reading fine, but the only thing
    that happens is I get the Cannot find boot.bin
    error.Hmm, the "Cannot find boot.bin." message comes from the
    CD/DVD's boot code, which is contained in the first 16 sectors
    of the media.
    The boot.bin file is supposed to be read from the Solaris UFS
    slice, which starts at 512 byte block #5151360 (or 2048 byte
    dvd sector #1287840). This a byte offset of ~2.6 GBytes.
    Maybe an issue with your system's bios not being able to read
    DVD media > 2GB, during DVD boot?
    Or a problem with burning the DVD media? Maybe some
    "smart" PC DVD burning software has decided only to record
    the 2.6 GB ISO filesystem, and the 100 MB Solaris UFS
    filesystem that follows the ISO filesystem is missing on the DVD?
    Or a 2GB filesize issue while burning the DVD?
    Do you have a pc / windows utility that can print some information
    about the S10 DVD media, especially the size of that DVD?
    Maybe your CD/DVD recording software?
    The original S10 GA x86 DVD image has a size of 2732195840
    bytes, or 1334080 2K DVD blocks.

  • Cannot find 'HTTP... from Windows Live Mail

    Using both FireFox 8.0, then 9.0 as my default browser, I get the error "Windows cannot find 'http:...." when I click on a link in an email in Windows Live Mail. The error note remains, but after a few seconds, FireFox opens the desired link page.
    This doesn't happen when I set IE7 as the default browser. It simply works without the error note.

    What password do you use to log onto MyBT. The old one or the new one?
    https://home.bt.com/login/loginform?TYPE=33554433&REALMOID=06-f1aca0f0-9277-1028-a2aa-843bdb4e0000&G...
    If it is your old password there appears to be a glitch when changing email passwords, it is not changing the password in MyBT so it causes a problem when logging on via an email client.
    If you change the password of MyBT it does change the email password as well.
    (I may have gotten this the wrong way round because I haven't tried it. ie changing MyBT does not change email password and changing email password does change MyBT password.)

  • Cannot find networks after wake from sleep

    I cannot find anyone else posting with this exact issue. Ever since the 10.5.8 update, my 13" MB Pro will not see any of the 10 wireless networks around my place. If I turn the Airport connection off and on again, it seems them and immediately connects to my network as well. Yes, I've zapped the PRAM.
    Anyone have any experience with this exact issue?

    I'm having, I think, the exact same issue. Since installing Snow Leopard, my internet connection is fine while the computer is awake. However, every time I return from shutdown/sleep or restart, I get the message stating "Your chosen network is not available, please choose another" (or whatever the actual wording is). So I click on the network icon and sure enough, my network is in the list, but I have to click and type my password every time. I've been looking into forums and suggested fixes; so far, to no avail.

  • Calling an ALBPM Process as WebService from external client

    Has anyone successfully been able to call a albpm process exposed as a webservice ?
    I have seen some posts but they all seem to be having some issues. What I am trying to understand is why does albpm web service requests for process id and session id when they are not part of the web services ? The only way an external client can call a process is by passing business keys (or correlation ids).
    But right now I am looking for some sample code that is used to call a web service encapsulating a business process.
    Any help will be much appreciated.

    In 5.7 you can use this API http://localhost:8585/workspace/webservices/ProcessService?WSDL
    to invoke a business process in a synchronous fashion. And it does not have to be exposed as a web service. If you expose your process as a web service, you will only be able to do asynchronous invoke.
    I hope it helps.

  • Cannot find data to erase from harddrive

    I have reformatted the hard drive, installed the necessary programs, but cannot eliminate the data.
    In fact,  I CANNOT FIND IT.
    "My computer" shows the hard drive ()x200) as having 22.6 gb available out of 320 gb. But whan i open up folders to find what is there, nothing appears except "Folder is Empty".
    Of course, the computer is slow as molasses and I need to clean it out.
    I have backed up the datea to a
    SATA drive so I no longer need it.
    Anyonw have any ideas?
    Thankis
    RAM

    Let me guess, you use window to format the driver?
    You may want to take a look at clicking on the window icon, right click on computer>-manage->Disk management and see if there are any partitions that are unformatted.
    Alternatively, you may want to download a free and great tools called partition wizard. zap the whole harddisk and see if the empty spaces comes back.
