Cannot find Fixed Asset Log file

I am trying to upload fixed assets with the fixed asset template.  I am getting errors.  I see on the forum that there is a fixed asset log file, but I cannot find it.
1) Is the log file on my computer or on the server?
2) What is the location of the log file?
Regards,
Fred

Gordon,
I checked the directory where I uploaded the fixed asset file from and there was no log file.

Wayne

It synchs very well with my TX via bluetooth, BUT whenever there is a Hot Sync Log Message I get an error message saying that the PC cannot find the Hot Sync Log.  I searched for this file on my PC but it cannot be found anywhere. I am using Mozilla Firefox as my web browser.  Is there a solution to this?

  • Cannot Find Errors in Log File

I can't seem to find where the Errors are stored in the Log File, I am trying to write a DataPlugin in VBS, and I'm getting runtime errors at the end of my script. It says to refer to the log file, but there isn't anything in the log file about my error. Where is the error log that this is referring to? Someone help.....

    Hi Garett,
You can view the log file directly in DIAdem-SCRIPT, it's the bottom-most window with the gray background. I always have to scroll up a few lines to see the error, and usually there are two or three error events stored in the log file each time the DataPlugin fails to load. The last event, located at the bottom, almost always contains no useful information for DataPlugin debugging. You have to find the first event by scrolling up to find a reference to a line number in the DataPlugin which caused the error.
Also note that the DataPlugin will throw an error if it runs through just fine but does not load any data. In other words, if you are building up your DataPlugin step by step (as you should), and are just at the early stages where you parse a few items in the file and look at their values, you can easily forget to create at least 1 group or channel. If the DataPlugin does not create at least 1 group or channel when it runs through, it will throw an error that the data loading failed, when really there is no error in the DataPlugin beyond that it loaded nothing.
I like to output metadata values I'm parsing from the binary or header file as group properties when I'm building up the DataPlugin step by step, like this:
    Set ThisGroup = Root.ChannelGroups.Add(ThisGroupName)
    ThisGroup.Properties.Add MetaDataName, MetaDataValue
Then I can look at a long list of metadata values in the Data Portal, and I never forget to load at least 1 group or channel in order to avoid that pesky error that nothing was loaded by the DataPlugin. You can also do the same thing with channel properties, of course:
    Set ThisChannel = ThisGroup.Channels.AddImplicitChannel(Name, 0, 1, 2, eI32)
    ThisChannel.Properties.Add MetaDataName, MetaDataValue
Let us know if this doesn't help with your current issue,

  • How to import Fixed Asset Master File

    Hi all expert,
I used BAMasterDataImportFile to import the Fixed Asset. But the message as below appear :
"Import end;Number of successfully imported assets: 0;Number of processed assets:2"
After complete import the fixed asset master files still empty. May i know anybody can advise me for import fixed asset files?
    Thank for help.
    From:
    Eric Tan

    Hi Eric,
Please refer your error with the possible reasons below (from SAP notes):
Error message: "Import End; Number of imported assets:0; Number of processed asset:2"
Reason: Note that there is no error. It is usually because of the conflict of Depr. Start Date , Use Life and Remaining Life.
The following is a list of possible errors:
    1. Fixed Asset in Production Mode -- Make sure Fixed Asset is in Transfer mode before importing.
    2. The number of semicolons for each line is not 66 -- For each line, each field must be separated by a semicolon(, the number of separators( should be 66.  Number( = 66.
    3. Wrong Date Format DD-MM-YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY -- The correct date formats should be : YYYYMMDD, YYYY-MM-DD, YYYY.MM.DD or YYYY/MM/DD
    4. Asset Class unavailable -- The asset class in your csv file does not exist in Fixed Assets; make sure the used asset classes are defined in Fixed Assets before importing.
    5. Depr. Type unavailable -- The given depreciation type does not exist in Fixed Assets, make sure the used depreciation type is defined in Fixed Assets before importing.
    6. Depr. Area unavailable -- You entered data for a depreciation area that does not exist. If there are only 2 depreciation areas in Fixed Assets do not enter data for area 3 or 4.
    7. Depr. Area is inactive for asset class  -- You entered data in the csv file for an area that is not active for the given class in Fixed Assets.
    8. Life parameter is negative or the remaining life is greater than planned life -- All life parameters should be positive, the remaining life should be less than the planned life
Life Parameters(Depr. Start Date, Useful Life and Remaining Life) are mathematically incorrect for one of the areas in csv. Remaining life = Useful life - (the difference between the first date of import year and depreciation start date). Note that it is not the difference between import date(the date you import Fixed Asset Master Data) and depreciation start date. You must calculate the remaining life correctly. For example, you want to import an asset in 2005, you import it on 2005-09-01 ,then the first date of the import year is 2005-01-01, Depr. Start Date = 2003-06-01, Useful Life = 60 months, then
          Remaining Life = 60 - (2005-01-01 - 2003-06-01) = 60 - 19 = 41 months.
          The following calculation is wrong:
          Remaining Life = 60 - (2005-09-01 - 2003-06-01) = 60 - 27 = 33 months
Import Fixed Asset for the current fiscal year -- The fixed asset master data import function is designed for legacy data importing. We recommend you to import fixed asset master in the past years. If you insist on importing an asset for the current fiscal year, make sure the depreciation start date is the first date of current fiscal year and the Remaining Life is the same as the Useful Life.
Year Values -- the sum of the accumulated depreciation (planned, unplanned and special depreciation) in the csv file is greater than the acquistion and production costs.
Also, don't forget to change the fixed asset mode to transfer. Administration>System initialization>Company Details> Basic initialization tab.
    Hope this helps.

    any suggestions please??????

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing QuickTime again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Runtime Error "Cannot find system in table file"

    I need assistance!
I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 and have recently installed Version 4.5
I am trying to setup my synchronization.  I have followed the steps to setup my calendar to Outlook 2007.  It tells me Congratulations! You have successfully configured the product. However, when I press Finish, I get a Runtime Error "Cannot find system in table file"
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it - the same error appears.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    FIGURED IT OUT!!!
The following steps, which are posted on the RIM Support will work; however, I had to do it a different way.  In Step 1, it states that the ilxolkCompanion.fil is located in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors\MS Outlook Connector path...however, when I searched for this file, it was actually located in C:\Program Files\Blackberry\Connectors\MS Outlook Connector.  (This could be because I upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.5 w/o completing a clean uninstall...not too sure why)
Once I located the file through the command prompt, I unregistered as per the instructions in Step 1.  I then followed step 2 exactly word for word...and VOILA!!!  I now have Version 4.5 working with MS Outlook 2007
ResolutionIf the Connectors folder is still present in C\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors\MS Outlook Connector, follow these steps:
Unregister the old Microsoft Outlook connector ilxolkCompanion.fil.
    Open the command prompt.
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors\MS Outlook Connector.
    Type in the command regsvr32 -u ilxolkCompanion.fil.
In Desktop Manager, Microsoft Outlook will no longer be listed as an available desktop application.
Register the most current Microsoft Outlook connector.
    Navigate to C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\IS71 Connectors\MS Outlook Connector.
Type in the command regsvr32 msoutlookconnector.fil.
In Desktop Manager, Microsoft Outlook will now be registered as an available desktop application.
Once these steps have been completed, configure synchronization again.

  • Curve Sync to Outlook - Cannot find table in system file

I have just upgraded from a Pearl to a Curve, loaded the desktop software and tried to sync to my MS Outlook, but it gives an error message "Cannot find table in system file".
I found a thread which pointed to a solution (ID KB15278), but this did not work.  The final step in that solution is to uninstall and reinstall the desktop software, and when I try to do that via Control Panel, it won't remove the software.  I seem to have both Version 4.2 and 4.7 of the software on my PC.
    Anyone got any suggestions?

I killed a dev db by accident (moved it between folders while it had an open transaction) and out of curiosity attempted to fix it as though it were a super-urgent client db. The above link fixed it, but I'll cut to the chase since it's a lot simpler than
    most of the article:
    1) Set aside the database mdf and ldf you're trying to recover.
    2) Create a database in the location you wanted, of the same name as the problem DB.
    3) Stop the SQL Server service.
    4) Copy the mdf and ldf files in, overwriting the dummy db you created.
    5) Start the SQL Server service.
    Done. Fixed.
Surely you're doing something SQL Server does not like, but it is unfortunate you have to shut down the entire service to perform this trick. All of the other methods in that linked article and sp_attach_single_file_db failed, but this worked like a charm.
In my dev database I was left with a db that was good as new - no missing data no problems. It seems odd this works so well and yet all these other approaches get errors about an open transaction. To be fair though, my dev database is essentially a single-user
file that isn't heavily used, I assume a production DB on a busy server would be more problematic.
