Cannot find ICloud backup

I accidentally erased one of my notes on my iphone 4S. The Icloud backup says that one was done at 1:30 am but when I go into Icloud the last notes was 17 days ago. What happend to the back up from 1:30 AM this morning.

That depends.
Firstly, it won't help if the notes aren't in the back up, you would need to be sure they are.
Secondly, it's not clear that notes are included in back ups, some seem to think that the data sets for contacts, calendars etc are not backed up, there is however evidence to suggest that some (if not all) are. The uncertainty is brought about because restoring any data that is used by iCloud is likely to immediately erased again because the timestamp on the data set in iCloud is newer than that in the back up.
I have seen users be able to restore contacts by following the method below, whether you can modify this procedure to work for notes I wouldn't know.
If you do decide to try, perhaps you could let us know the outcome.
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Delete any iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).

  • I backed up before restoring my iPod and I cannot find the backup

I recently had issues with a forgotten passcode so I restored my iPod, but I also backed it up beforehand, and now I cannot find the backup, it had really important notes and the only notes that were deleted were the important ones. Can someone please help me?? I've tried WonderShare Dr Fone for iOS and other programs and none of them show the backup.

If you backed up to iTunes then what is listed in iTunes>Preferences>Devices?
Where are iTunes backups stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data is stored depends on the computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
    Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press Return.

  • Updated itunes and ipad but cannot find icloud in settings. how do I get it or where is it?

I just updated itunes and ipad.  I cannot find icloud in settings.  Where is it or how can I get it?

It should be there.  Are you sure the iPad is running iOS 5?  You can check in Settings>Genreal>About.  The iOS version is shown under Version.

As Crizzo stated, you are probably not running the necessary iOS for iCloud.
You can check in Settings>General>About>Version .... To see which iOS the iPad is running. This will explain how to update your iPad. You must do this via iTunes on your computer and you want to make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed as well.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623
After you have updated to iOS 5, you will be able to update over the air in the future without the need to go through iTunes on your computer.
BTW ... It is not a good idea to post your phone number in a public forum. I have asked the hosts to remove it from your post.

Cannot get iCloud backup off my screen

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.

  • Cannot find Storage & Backup setting in iCloud

Am I just blatantly missing it or has it moved to somewhere else?
I was trying to check what backup I have, I followed Youtube instruction and looked for Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Where the Storage & Backup should have been, I see Advanced > Mail / Share My Location! Totally not the same from when I saw on youtube (or suggested by many other people).
Where can I find this option. Or how should I check for my iCloud backup?

    I see it! Thank you!
One more question. I see message "The last backup could not be completed" right below Back Up Now option. What does it mean? I recently did a restore from backup. Was restoration not completed or was the last actual backup not completed?

  • I cannot find iCloud in preferance / settings menu? Any ideas?

I am trying to set iCloud on my iMac and cannot find the link for it under preferences / settings? Any ideas?

are you running OS X 10.7.2 on your iMac?  If not, that's why.  Also, please put the correct OS X in your profile.  It says you are running iOS 5.0.1, which can not be run on a mac.  That is only for iDevices.  This will prevent further confusion.

  • Time Machine does backups, but cannot find those backups

I have a 27-inch iMac (mid 2011) what is wirelessly connected to a 3T Airport Time Capsule.
    I am running Yosemite 10.10.1
In the Time machine preferences, the latest  backup was made at 5:54p (C) today. The earliest was made in July 2014.
My problem is that I cannot access the backups. When I enter time machine I get the "waiting" window title and then a message that says the backups cannot be found and a referral to the time machine preferences. When I go the the preferences, everything looks OK. The proper disk is selected.
I read another post that seemed related to this, but there were so many abbreviations, that I could not understand anything. If anyone does understand this issue, could you explain it in plain terms? Thank you.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try to enter Time Machine. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • Time machine cannot find the backup disk, need to reset but previous data cannot be accessed.

Lately, my time machine/time capsule has the problem to find the backup disk in the time capsule and cannot perform the backup. I have to reset (at the back of the unit) then the backup can start again, but I can only access the backup data since the last backup, all my previous backup data is no longer available.
Does anyone face the similar situation and how to fix it?

    Hi there!
Did you try upgrading to the latest WD Firmware?
    It fixes the following:
    WD Universal Firmware Updater 3.1.0.10:
    Fixes:
Now works with 10.7.x (Lion OS-X)
Now works with new My Book Studio (without Electronic Paper Display), new MyPassport for Mac, and new My Passport Studio model.
    Made device detection more robust.
Here's the link to the firmware:

  • HT204053 I cannot find iCloud in my program files or icon or anywhere on my computer. How do I change my settings?

I downloaded icloud on three of my pcs and one ipad.
I cannot find the program file on the PCs or an icon or anything to look at my settings.
Can someone please tell me where to find the program file. I can see it in my control panel, but cannot find it anywhere else on the computer.
    Thanks for your anticipated response.

I'm afraid I do not quite understand what you are trying to accomplish. There is no "cloud player" application. You access your music in the cloud with iTunes on a computer and through the Music app on iOS devices. Please describe the problem you are having in more detail so we can help you.
As to accessing "icloud" on mobile devices, iCloud is not the same as iTunes Match. Please tell us what model of iPod you have. At this time only OS X, iOS and Windows (Windows Vista SP2 and up) are supported.

  • How to find iCloud backup after reset

    Hi,
recently my iPad2 froze/Hung after an update to iOS7xx. After a non responsive period of a few hours and with no response to shutdown/startup I tried to enter DFU mode with the hope that I could then simply use recboot or something similar to exit DFU mode. No such luck so after downloading many different versions of firmware, I finally got the iPad to install as a new device using a new computer and fresh iTunes. Now I need to find my backup so I can restore using my Apple ID but don't know enough about iCloud to go about it. Can someone please help me with this. Many thanks.

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings.  After the reset, go thru the setup until you're on that page that gives you the option to "Restore from iCloud backup".

  • Time Machine cannot find internal backup disk.Lost disk image in Finder for internal backup volume.  OS 10.7.3.

Lost disk image in Finder (Desktop) for backup disk on Intel Mac Pro OS 10.7.3. Time Machine cannot find the internal backup disk. The volume is grayed out in Disk Utility, though it CAN verify the volume. How do I get it back on my desktop?

First, restart the Time Capsule by disconnecting the power adapter and reconnecting it. If other devices on the network can see it, you can skip this step.
    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
Click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the window and authenticate to unlock the settings, if necessary. Click the Advanced button, then select the TCP/IP tab in the sheet that drops down. Click Renew DHCP lease.
    Try again to back up.

Where do I find icloud on my mac?  I have looked under system preferences but it isn't there.  I thought I had the latest software and my iphone has icloud on it.  Now do I get it on my mac so they will talk to each other.  Can't sync calendar.

I'm not running OSX Lion 10.7.2.  I guess that's not a free download?

  • I cannot find the backup of my phone on iTunes after new software download

I recently had to download new software for my husbands iPhone 4. It had not been updated in over a year. I synced his phone and made sure there was a fresh backup. After I downloaded the new software and installed it on the phone it will not find his backup. iTunes also does not show his phone as one I'm able to select. I is recognizing it as a new device.

Check iTunes for the back up.
    Windows: Edit>Preferences>Devices>Device Backups
    Mac: iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Device Backups
