Cannot find Microsoft Office after hp recovery

I am having a HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC 15-n208TX. I got the Microsoft Office 2007 preinstalled when I purchased my laptop. I performed hp recovery and after that I could not find MS Office. Please help

HP do not supply MS Office full version except for Starter or Trial and once you recover/reinstall OS its gone. Hence you need to purchase Office application.
You can try

  • Cannot open Microsoft Office after copying it across from external HD with recovered data from my broken macbook HD.

I have recently had to replace the hard drive in my macbook pro. All the data has been recovered from my old one onto an external HD and I have copied over everything from this onto the new HD on my macbook. Everything is fine except for Microsoft Office (2011).
Although I can see all the Microsoft Office programs in the Applications folder, I can't open any of them. It sort of tries, but then doesn't open. All my word, excel, etc documents have the little 'W' or 'X' in the icon and I can preview them, but it won't open.
So far I have copied Office and Messenger into Applications, 'Microsoft' into Application Support, 'Microsoft' into Preferences, and the 'Microsoft-Userdata' into Documents.
Have I missed something? I don't have the original CD or product key anymore so don't think I can completely reinstall.
    Thanks.

Thanks for your help - I have now found the original product key (although still no disc!)  so is there any way now? After this, I'm giving up and just biting the bullet and buying it again, annoying!

  • RH9 - Cannot find Microsoft Word Installed on your system

Having just installed five seats of the TCS 3 upgrade on Laptops with Office 2010 previously installed, three of them are encountering errors when generating Printed Documentation.  RH9 throws up a error dialog - "Cannot find Microsoft Word Installed on your system"
What is the fix to have RH9 recognize Office 2010?
    Thanks,
    W.

No, the other two were using the right-click/Properties approach. When tried, the left click on "Printed Documentation" method did not find Word 2010.
Yes these were upgrades, installed after uninstalling TCS2.  Adobe claims two versions can coexist on one drive, but I also agree that is not the case.
It would appear to be a bona fide bug, but I can't believe Adobe would let something like this slip...

  • Cannot find Microsoft Word Installed on your system - RH10 - a solution

I started receiving the error "Cannot find Microsoft Word Installed on your system" whenever I tried to generate printed documentation from RoboHelp 10. This occurred after I installed Open Office 3.4.1.
Clicking the "Printed Documentation" option in the SSL pod generated the error. However, right-clicking on the "Printed Documentation" option, selecting "Properties", then clicking "Save and Generate" did work. Go figure.
    I am using Word 2007.
All of these suggested solutions to resolve the problem didn't work, unfortunately.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Open Office with the correct option selected for file associations as suggested here:
    http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/printing/print_issues.htm#other_issues
Tried reinstalling the MPJ2DOC.DLL as suggested here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/error-cannot-find-microsoft-word.html
    Tried all the suggestions here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4173839
Spent 2 hours with Adobe support (they were helpful but could not fix the problem) uninstalling and reinstalling RoboHelp, including reinstalling and registering the dll again.
Finally I fixed the problem by following the simple solution here. I found that the problem was that the Word file associations were corrupt and you simply need to reregister word.

Here's the solution in case the  link does not work:
How to re-register Word when problems crop up opening files
    Article contributed by Cindy Meister
If you find that Word files do not open in the desired version of Word when you double-click them in Windows Explorer, or that when opening them from the Desktop or Explorer, a series of messages appear claiming that the file cannot be opened, such as:
    “Cannot open C:\My”
    “Cannot open "Documents\The”
    “Cannot open "Test.doc"”
.. you need to re-register Word.  To fix the problem:
    Word 97 and above
Click Start | Run (bottom- left corner of your screen).
    In the “Open“ box, type:
winword /rand press Enter. Note that there is a space before the forward slash
    Word 95
Locate the file winword.reg on your system
    Double-click it to re-register Word
Hope this helps anyone else who has struck this problem.
    Cheers Mark

I am not surprised that the DLL is crashing your system. If you read the Knowledge Base item for that file it specifically refers to RoboHelp 9. Your first step is to restore the correct DLL for Rh10. I hope you backed it up.
    What is your operating system?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?
Is your Normal.dot file on your local drive or on a network.
Are you generating the printed document to your local drive?
At what point does the generation crash?

  • Need help: Cannot find Microsoft Word installed on your system.

I am having issues trying to generate a pdf from a robohelp 7 html project.  Whenever I try to generate a pdf I get the error "Cannot find Microsoft Word installed on your system."
I have tried to uninstall both Office (2003) and robohelp, re-installing office first and then robohelp, but it doesn't help.  Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

    Colum,
Thanks for the reply, but it's Microsoft Office, not Open Office.
I have read many threads here and tried most of the suggestions, up to and including:
Uninstall/Reinstall of Office and RH 7
    Adjusting Macro security
    comparing registry entries
There are others but I can't think of them all right now.  Point being, nothing has worked thus far.  I must admit this is fairly frustrating but I haven't given up yet.  Any more suggestions are welcome, and I will review the link you gave me just to make sure I cover all my bases.

  • Cannot find Microsoft Word installed on your system

    Hi,
    Wonder if anyone can help...
I just tried to generate my printed documentation in RoboHelp
and everytime I try I get the error message 'Cannot find Microsoft
    Word installed on your system'.
It is installed, and when I go to Tools > Options >
Tool Locations you can see it is pointing to the right location
    (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\WINWORD.EXE).
This is the first project I have done with RoboHelp 7.0 on
Vista- does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

First, thanks to Wkugelman for this new initiative. I think
we are a big step nearer, but not quite there yet.

If I manually type in the path to the shortcut, RoboHelp
tells me the path is invalid.
This happens to me on XP too, so there must be some other
problem. I do have adminsistrator rights on this PC. Here's what I
    do
    1) Find WINWORD.EXE and create a shortcut to it on my
desktop. I rename it to WINWORD.EXE
    2) In RH. Menu:Tools > Options > Tab:Tool Locations
    > Pane: HTML Editors
    3) Select the line Word 2003 and click the Edit... button to
    change the path
    4) I get a popup called HTML Editor with Word 2003 grayed out
above, and a path selector text box below.
    5) Now it doesn't matter whether I use the path browser icon
and navigate to my new shortcut, or whether I enter the path
manually. When I click OK I get a popup saying the path is invalid
or I return to the HTML Editor popup but the path to Word has not
    changed (it remains C:\Program Files\Microsoft
    Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE ).
Notes: It doesn't matter whether the path is on C:\ where
Program Files (with Office11 And Adobe Robohelp 7 reside), or on
D:\ where my "My Documents" directory is with subdirectory My
    Robohelp projects.
I have also played around with the two radio buttons at the
bottom of the Tool Locations tab:
    * Auto-select editor and
    * Use default editor
But to no avail. Can someone explain what these options
    change?
If protections on the OFFICE11 directory or Winword
executable are the problem, wouldn't it be simpler to loosen these
so that RH can use it?

  • Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.

I get the following error message when opening Microsoft Outlook (using Windows 7):
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Errors have been detected in the file.
    C:/Users/owner/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook/Outlook.pst.
Quit Outlook and all mail enabled applications and then use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more information about the inbox repair tool, see Help.
I have tried the suggested fix of using the start menu, clicking "run" and then typing in "Outlook.exe /resetnavpane" and it did not work. Do I need some sort of a longer path to make this work?
I cannot find the so called "inbox repair tool" and don't know how to use "scanpst.exe".
Are all my old email folders now lost? How can I start using my Outlook email again?
    Thanks for any help. Susanne

It seems to me that your emails has not been lost, perhaps your outlook folder has been lost. to get your emails back you must try one of the following ways.
Use backup file, if you have kept it in another location.
if not then go to the:
    C:/Users/owner/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook/Outlook.pst."
and run the scanpst, exe tool to fix the outlook error on windows 7.
If this application is not working or giving error then use a powerful PST Repair tool. which ,may become helpful for
    you.

I have now lost my contacts icon on the iphone and cannot find it even after syncing to my computer.
Would you know how to resolve this issue?
It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder, check the utilities folder as this is a common one for it to disappear into.  Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it.  Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • If i install microsoft office after partitioning my hard drive for windows, will it be available on both sides of the partition?

If i install microsoft office after partitioning my hard drive for windows, will it be available on both sides of the partition? Will it be universal for the computer or would i have to install it on both operating systems? Or, if I install office BEFORE partitioning, will it be available on both platforms after i partition?

If I understand your questions correctly, then I'm inclined to say no. Office for Windows and Office for Mac are two completely different applications. if you run via BootCamp, only one partition will boot.
If you want to run Mac and Windows at the same time, you could do what I did:
    Get Parallels
Install Windows as VM on top of Parallels
    Install Office in Windows
Now, you can run your OS X, jump into Parallels' WIndows and use Office that way.
It needs a lot of RAM, 4 is a bare minimum to realy make it sensible, 8 wouldn't hurt.

  • I downloaded lion and now I cannot use Microsoft Office

I downloaded Lion and now I cannot use Microsoft Office...

Yeah, the problem is that Office 2004 is still the best
I actually like iWork WAY better than Office, and it can export into Office formats if you need it to. iWork is way more stable, easier to use, less "clunky", and has some cool features in it. However, I admit that Excel is better than Numbers.
    Also, it's $80, not $200.

  • I've upgraded to mountain lion and now cannot use microsoft office--what happened?

I've upgraded to ox Mountain Lion and now cannot use any of my Microsoft office software.  What happened?

It appears that you upgraded your computer to Mountain Lion and were using Microsoft Office 2004.  In the short term, if you need to open and modify Word files, go to the file in the Finder and Control-Click on it.  A menu will come up: go to Open With... and select TextEdit.  This should allow you to open, modify and save the file for the short term.
You can do the same trick to open Microsoft Excel files in Preview and print them; but I do not think you can modify them in this way.
Workarounds for Microsoft Office 2004 since upgrading to Mountain Lion:
    1.  Upgrade to Microsoft Office 2011.  This version works in Mountain Lion.  However some of your legacy 2004 files may convert badly.
    2.  Restore the version of OS X that you were using before Mountain Lion.
    3.  Partition your hard drive and/or attach an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard on it and use the 'dual-boot' method of booting into Mountain Lion when you need it and booting into Snow Leopard when you need to run your PowerPC applications such as Microsoft Office 2004.
    4.  The method I use, which allows me to run my PowerPC applications concurrently with Lion:  I installed Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels 7 in Lion:

  • [SOLVED] cannot find root device after pacman -Syu

Today I had a problem after pacman -Syu. Of course, my problem stemmed from not paying attention to the following (from https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57205):
    <b>Read pacman's output while upgrading.</b>
I could no longer boot. I received a message "cannot find root device" or something similar indicating a device with the appropriate UUID had not been found and I was being dropped into a recovery shell, then, when I typed exit, an emergency shell, followed shortly by a freeze.
After some investigation it appeared my initramfs was broken/non-existent/something after the install. I booted into a live CD and found that updating pacman again, and mkinitcpio -p linux both displayed the following error: "Failed to create temporary working directory in /tmp". Long story short: mktemp was segfaulting. This should be extremely easy to check if you're having a similar problem. I replaced it with the version on the live CD and ran the pacman update again. Success. If you do this, you may need to make sure your live cd architecture and installed kernel architecture are the same.
I'm not sure of the etiquette here, so I'm posting this in case someone else has the same problem I did; and benefits from a similar solution. I have checked the etiquette post and I don't think it's clear whether it's kosher to post things that don't actually require a solution. However, if I have misinterpreted the rules/etiquette and/or this type of post is considered extraneous please remove it.

You have to use lvm first.  As all those vg*, lv*, and pv* commands are actually links to the lvm command, you should have to do something like "lvm vgscan" instead of just "vgscan".
Edit: oh and at that point in the boot process, you are actually in the initramfs still (ash to be specific).
Edit2: I was having issues with a USB keyboard and a new machine (actually just a new bios), and found out that because of windows 8's requriement for a fast POST, the default is to turn off the scanning for usb devices.  Though this was for UEFI, and I am not sure if the same would apply for a bios booting machine...

  • Macbook air restored from time capsule backup cannot find ms office product key

Had a moisture problem on my Macbook Air.  Had to replace with newer pc as could not wait a week for repair.  Had been using Time Machine and a Time Capsule hard drive to back up and the final backup was about 5 minutes before the spill.
So, I was able to fully restore the new laptop from Time capsule.  Only problem is that I had purchased MS Office and while the programs are restored, when I launch MS Word, it wants the product code.  I cannot find my cd and packaging with the product code from my original purchase.  Any way to get the code off the Time capsule backup?  It must be stored there somewhere but I wonder if it was encrypted and somehow linked to a physical something on the damaged MBAir.
I'm hoping to not have to buy MS Office again.
    Thanks for any advice.
