Cannot find Mission Control in OSX Lion

Just got a new macbook and was excited to try out all the new features of OSX Lion. I keep seeing information online about Mission Control, but I am unable to bring it up. Supposedly it is a 3 finger up swipe on the trackpad, but that doesn't do anything when I try it. I can't find it anywhere else on the computer. Please help!

Mission Control is an application in the Applications folder. There also should be an icon in the Dock that looks like this:

My mission control on OsX mountain lion  does not smoothly zoom out or in when showing all the apps, how do I restore that function?

Apple are revamping support, you'll see something like this - select Apps and Software etc:
...next screen should have Purchases, Billing and Redemption links.

  • Indesign cs6 menu and tool bar disappear between windows using mission control in mountain lion

heres 2  screen grabs before and after. while navigating between 'spaces' using mission control in mountain lion. issue -  the menu and tools bars disappear - not all of them just parts of them. to get back i hit 'tab' button twice which hides and shows tools. very annoying - does anyone know of a fix or is this another bug which i have to live with. im using a macpro june 2012/running 10.8.4 and 2 screens - left for artboard - right for all tool windows.

thanks steve - yes that works as does using the tab key - all well....until i move to another 'space' and then come back again.
for example: my setup is like this - no2 space has indesign project. no3 space has photoshop. so im working on a page within indesign and i need to edit an image- i double click the pic and it opens in photoshop on the other 'space' save the file and go back to indesign to update pic and find menu/tools all over the place - so hit tab twice back to normal -  until i 'move' out of that space into another - photoshop/ mail/ whatever - as i toggle between spaces the indesign menu will always be 'corrupt' for a better word. hope that makes sense.

  • Mac OS X version 10.6.8 but cannot access 'mission control'?

I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8 but cannot access 'mission control'. I have read about it being really good but don't have it on my desktop? I'm not sure if my laptop is too old and needs to be updated or what, but have no idea why I can't find out ANYWHERE how to get it onto my laptop.

MIssion control is a feature introduced in OS X 10.7. Prior to that, it was called Expose (with an accent mark over the 2nd e).  See this Apple note on how to use Expose.

  • HP Envy 5535 Can not find printer on network OSX Lion/Yosemite

    Here's the background:
    1) I'm using Verizon FIOS and the connection settings haven't changed in 1+ year. WPA2/SSID
    2) I have previously connected and used wireless printing flawlessly.
    3) I can connect to the internet using the wireless setup on the printer/download updates/accept ePrint jobs.
    4) I'm using OSX Lion and OSX Yosemite.
Recently, I lost the ability to print wirelessly. Nothing changed with my printer, connection, and machines. Both of my computers cannot connect to the printer. I don't even see the printer when I attempt to add it.
When I attempt to setup the wireless connection on the printer via USB, I see:
    "Device Not Reachable
The wireless network settings were successfully downloaded to your device. However, your Mac was unable to locate the device on the network."
I've verified that I have all the latest updates. I could understand why this might happen on my Yosemite box, but the same phenomena is occurring on my Lion box... Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hi @tempacc
I can't help but wonder if the issue might have something to do with the router. Although nothing has changed, it is possible the router had its own update and it may have made changes to the routers settings.
    Let's first try restarting all the devices using the following steps;
First leave the router on and unplug the power cable
Do the same with the printer, leave it on, and unplug the power cable
Now go ahead and shut down both Macs
After a full minute, you can plug the router back in and wait until it is fully restarted
Then, plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid
Now you can restart one Mac at a time
Now please try adding the printer to one of the Macs. If this does not resolve the issue, please print a network test page from the printer and note the IP address. I'd like you to enter the IP address into the address bar of Safari and let me know if you can access the printers Embedded Web Server.
    Keep me posted.

  • How can i use my pictures for Mission Control Spaces in Lion?

How do I get a chosen selection of my own photos to be available for use as desktop pictures, with a different one for each Space in Mission Control in Lion?
I have a new Macbook Air, Thunderbolt display and Lion.

As long as your Office for Mac is 2011, you will have no problems using the programs.  If it is the Office for Mac 2008 version, there have been some mixed reviews.  2004 will not work at all.
I have the 2011 version and have not had any problems since upgrading to Lion.

  • I cannot find the "save as" under Lion.

I frequesntly reuse documents I have created and change sections. I want to save the changed document in a new folde. I used to go to "Save as" and change the document name and location. This is the procedure described in the pags help section. Using pages under Lion I cannot find a save as command. If I try save a version, I do not have the option to change the location. I can save as a template and put it anywhere I want and rename it, but I that is an ackward solution. How do find and install the "save as" command

Apple engineers failed to update the help but they updated the User Guides.
Since the Lion delivery there are numerous threads upon the Save As… removal.
Every asker is supposed to search in existing threads before creating a new one.
Searching for the keyword Save As was the logical behavior.

  • How do I add spaces in mission control in mountain lion?

I use an external monitor on the right side of my mbp, the external monitor (when in use) is my main screen. I want my (auto retracting) dock on the right side of my right screen (the external one). The top right corner is my hot corner for mission control.
With this setup, when I move my mouse to the right top corner I'll enter mission control, but somehow the "add a new space pop-up button" will not show up. I haven't tried this setup in Lion so I do not know if this is a bug for ML. I really like my dock on the right side of the screen, left is no option and I'm sick of having it at the bottom, but I do want to be able to add spaces, any thoughts how to do this?

    multiple ways,
    go to mission control and:
hold option, a half of a desktop with a plus will appear, click it.
drag an application's window next to the spaces there are already.
put an app in fullsreen mode.
move mouse over the top left side of the screen, and the desktop with the plus sign will appear to add a new space.

  • How do I delete unused window spaces in Mission Control with Mountain Lion?

When I open an application to full-window size (opening a new "space" in mission control), the "space" does not close when I terminate the application.  Instead, the space remains blank.  There are no options to remove or open an application, and I cannot remove the empty space in mission control.  When I re-open the same program, it creates a new space.  Now I have 11 spaces and only 4 of them are usable/not blank.
How do I delete the blank ones?

    JonRow, Look familiar?
And when I did try and swipe through full screen apps I briefly got this. See image below. (note the menu bar icons top right)
Before going to a blank grey screen.
If the problem comes back I will tru the killall dock command.
    Cheers

  • Mission Control messing with Lion's default background

Strange and frustrating Mission Control behaviour in the attached picture. Lion's default background pops-up to block most of the desktops. This happens atleast with my external Acer display (with Apple's display port to dvi adapter) but it has sometimes occurred with the native display too. Then there is this another annoying feature when I shutdown my computer and the OS asks do I want to open up the same windows on the start-up. Lion surely opens up everything but every app window is on the same desktop so I have to re-arrange them. Changing Mission Control preferences does not help, the apps are cluttered on the same desktop on startup.

  • HT4689 With mission control in Mountain Lion, is there a setting that displays a document name when it is selected?

For example, if I have 4 word documents open, and go to mission control so they are all displayed, can I turn a feature on that displays the document name when my mouse is over each document?
Like in the picture, if I have my mouse over a document, the name of the document isn't displayed.  Can I change this?

    Hey!
I just got a new mac and was trying to figure out the same thing today!! I went from an older version to this 10.9.  I called apple support, the tech had no idea what I was talking about.  I was transferred to a manager who told me that it is not feature available on the new models.  After a 40 minute conversation I was about to let it go and then I saw this post and became determined LOL ... and I figured it out (SMH apple support).  So here is how you do you it:
system preferences > trackpad > you want to make sure the "App Expose" is checked off > and you're done!!
I am not able to upload a 2 photos so I will post a second screenshot of what it looks like once the preferences are set.

  • I have lost all functions of the keyboard volume controls. i cannot find any controls for this. how

My HP Pavillion has lost all functions of the keyboard volume controls. Icannot find any controls for this. How do I go about getting
    this reset?

    Hi,
Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your Audio Driver ( this will probably be IDT, but could be Realtek or Conexant ) - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.
    Recovery Manager - Windows 7
    Recovery Manager - Windows Vista
After the reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.
