Have you used spotlight search? Typed "word" and the application doesn't appear? If it doesn't then it probably isn't around anymore.... so hit command + space ... and type "word"... what happens?

The apps in the iTunes Store are for a mobile device. Mac apps are in the Mac App Store.

You can also search for the app with Spotlight.
From the home screen ... Swipe to the right to launch the Spotlight Search feature. Type the name of the app in the text field at the top. If the app appears - when you tap on the icon, the app will launch. If you do this you can at least confirm that the app did download to the iPad.
As Fred suggested, swipe from screen to screen and if you have folders, look in your folders as well. If you find the app and you tap and hold down on the icon until it begins to "wiggle" - hold down on the icon and drag it to the edge of the screen (as Fred suggested) - but hold it on the edge of the screen - about half way over to the next screen - until it jumps to the next screen. You have to hold it there for a second or two before it will move to the next screen.

Please always state your operating system when you have a question. From your description it is evident that you have Snow Leopard or earlier.
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
OS X v10.6.8 or later
2GB of memory
8GB of available space

iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)

If you are running Leopard on an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to access the Mac App Store - it's available in the online Apple Store. However if you have a PPC Mac you cannot run Snow Leopard and cannot proceed further.

On Windows all installs produce an entry in the start menu, on Macs the program ends up in your Applications folder. If that's not the case, you need to provide more info and we can try to figure out what's going on...

Cannot find DAQmx icons in LABVIEW 8.5

Hi,
I recently installed the full professional development system of Labview 8.5 on my computer which already has a fully functional labview 8.2 version.
However I cant find any of the DAQmx icons in the functions box in the Blockdiagram window of the vi.s in labview 8.5 though its present in the 8.2 of the same computer..

Did you install the Device Drivers CD? Only then you ll get DAQmx in the BD functions pallette.

It cannot be deleted. Does it show up when you search for it by swiping to the right and typing in Settings?
Perhaps it moved to another page? Swipe to the left a few times and see if it's listed on any of the additional pages (if there are any).

Please help: I want to mirror my MacBook pro with my HDTV. I realize I need to switch on my Mirroring Icon BUT I cannot find the icon on my menu bar or in the Display section of my System preferences. Is it possible to get the Icon on my screen somehow?

I want to mirror my MacBook Pro's screen to my HDTV. I had it at one time by clicking the Mirror Icon on my upper menu bar but I do not have it any more?
What am I missing? In the System Perferences the display menu seems incomplete. There is no where in there to set my MacBook Pro to mirroring.
Can someone please help me?

The mirroring selection is in the "Arrangement" tab and only shows up on the MacBook Pro LCD, not the external display.

I cannot find the icon for Firesizer in Customize to add it to my main Toolbar.

I have the Firesizer Addon installed in Firefox (v. 29) and I tried going into Customize to move it to my Main Toolbar as suggested one of Firefox's articles, but it's not listed there. I can't find it anywhere. It is Enabled, so I don't know what else to do.

OK.....Got it. Before you go to reply to a message, open the app and if it is a picture, hold your finger on the picture you want to copy until you see the copy button appear. Touch the copy button. Open the email, hit reply, and in the body of the email, hold your finger there until you see the paste option. Touch paste and the picture will be attached to the email.

If you're trying to add photos to photo stream on your PC, you drag them to your photo stream uploads folder (normally My Pictures\Photo Stream\Uploads).
