Cannot fully update or uninstall itunes using windows 7 64 bit OS

Please help!!!!

I've tried both of those previously. Sorry I didn't mention that. I've done so many things it's hard to remember. I'm beginning to think that some of the problem lies within the phone. And since I can't even get the computer to be able to read it properly, I can't restore to factory again.
I had a bit of luck with a friends PC and was able to get it to read it, but not sync. So, I may use his iTunes to restore my phone to a factory default. Then attempt to uninstall/reinstall iTunes on my Laptop again to see if it works.
(Also for the copy/paste files, the latest iTunes from the site remedied the issue where the files were in the wrong location, so that was already completed).
The link to the support page is virtually useless though. I'd done everything that page asked before even seeing it. Thanks for trying though. I'll repost after I restore and then uninstall/reinstall again.

Probably should've searched around a bit more. Just saw a similar forum post to my own in which redownloading and burning solved another user's similar issue. As of now I've redownloaded the 64-bit ISO, burned it, and so far so good (at 72% extracting files). I will repost here if it was a success in hopes that other users with a similar issue find this and benefit from it. Hope I didn't just waste anyone's time with a question that had already been answered (haha)

  • I cannot update or uninstall iTunes with Windows XP.

I have an older OS (windows XP) and have been trying to update iTunes.  I keep getting a message saying that Bonjour is on another network that I do not have access to.  It then tells me that iTunes.msi is not available either.  Now I am not able to sync my iPod.
I have tried to uninstall iTunes to fix the problem, but I cannot do that either.  I get the same message about this missing Bonjour.  I would really like to update, or at the very least get rid of this version to get the newer iTunes.
If anyone can help me figure out this problem, I would appreciate it more than I can say.
Thank you in advance (especially if there is some simple solution that I have either not seen or tried )

Also using Windows Installer CleanUp Utility is no longer an available option since Microsoft is saying that it damages files as well as fix them.
Nonetheless, it's the best game in town for this particular kind of trouble. So, just in case, I'll run you through my standard instructions for an itunes.msi variant (just in case).
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeksare worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Can't update or uninstall itunes on windows 8.1

    Hi,
I've been searching for a while but havent found a workable solution as yet. Basically if i try to update, uninstall or reinstall i get the message
"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. click ok to try again or enter the alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi'
i've tried running as administrator, extracting the files, browsing to the file location etc but nothing seems to work, the only suggestions i've found are to use ifixit which is incompatible with windows 8.1 so won't work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. click ok to try again or enter the alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi'
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • HT203164 Cannot print CD Jewel Case Insert using Windows 7; iTunes print options work fine from Windows XP; using iTunes print option CD Jewel Case Insert with Windows 7 prints jumbled mess?

Cannot print CD Jewel Case Insert using Windows 7.  iTunes print options work fine with Windows XP, but attempting to print CD Jewel Case Insert from Windows 7 yields jumbled mess.

I'm having the same issue - when I try to change any print options iTunes freezes and I have to end the process in Task Manager... I was trying to turn off duplex printing and the printer option screen wouldn't take any input. I changed the default printer properties to turn off duplex; iTunes did not reflect the updated preferences. It looks like there is an unknown issue with the printer setup module - guess that doesn't get much use anymore or Q/A should have picked up the issue...

    Hello,
I would first suggest recreating your iTunes library file:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451
If that doesn't resolve it, try pulling your iTunes preferences:
Quit iTunes if it is running.
    Navigate to /User/Library/Preferences/
    Drag com.apple.itunes.plist to the trash
    Restart the Mac
    Launch iTunes again

I read the responses about downloading the windows installer cleanup utility, but that is no longer available on microsoft's website.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.

Can't update iPad since iTunes uses drive C. Solutions?
    Yeah, I've seen this topic:

    Thanks.

    Relocate iOS device backups
Assuming you're running Windows Vista or later you can use the following steps:
Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: type in this command (on one line) and press <Enter>
    Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command (on one line) and press <Enter>
    MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your target drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
In some cases (perhaps depending on what builds of iTunes were installed in the past) it seems the folder is in the \Local\ branch of AppData rather than \Roaming\ in which case edit to suit.
If you're still running Windows XP you can use Junction (cmd line tool) or NTFSLink (shell ext). In both cases you move the existing folder to a new location, create an empty folder where the old one used to be, then use the tools to get the operating system to link the two together and silently redirect any file operation on the old location through to the new one.
Note that while this method works for iOS device backups it cannot be used to redirect sections of the media library.
If your iTunes library is on the C:\ drive with the media folder held elsewhere then see also make a split library portable.
