Cannot get a home page on my iPad!

I have gone through setup for iPad (twice). My email has been verified and I was able to sign up for the discussions, but I cannot get a home page on the iPad. I also cannot get my serial number to contact support. This is my first experience with an Apple product and I am very frustrated. I'm writing this from my PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure what you mean by that. If you mean set a Starting page for Safari, then you can't. Safari will open up on the last page you browsed. If you close all tabs before exiting, it will jsut open to the gray screen. From there you can search using the google search at the top left of the address bar, or simply enter an address in the address bar.

The Serial number is printed there.
Alternatively going into Settings->Geneal->About will have the serial number in the list of things about the iPad.
If you are finding it difficult to navigate around the iPad, perhaps setting up an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store may be usefull. As they have Usage classes you can take.

Someone recently noted a problem staying logged on the Huffington Post since it became connected with AOL. The workaround for that is to change your connection setting here:

Click the "Settings" button and choose either "No Proxy" or "Use System Settings" option, and OK the change.
Not sure whether Washington Post could be affected by that same setting.
In reviewing your extensions, I'm puzzled that you have both DoNotTrackMe and SavvyConnect. The first one seems to aggressively block certain communications with websites (potentially affecting functionality) while the second one seems to report on your browsing habits (they better pay well is all I can say). Have you tried disabling both of those to see whether that has any effect?

Cannot get a home network functioning with new bth...

As a relatively new BT infinity customer I simply cannot get a home network up and running...
I have one PC which is hard-wired into the router and two laptops, all running windows 7. I have discovered from this forum that BThomehubs don't like Windows own homegroup utility so I need to ensure that all devices are on the same workgroup. OK, done.
Every sharing option is checked and even my printer properties are slected to share all. The printer is wired via USB into the main PC. I can 'see' my laptops from the PC and vice versa through windoes explorer but can only access the laptops from the PC, not the other way around which is a pain for transferring files (one of the key reasons for haveing the network in the first place!)
My printer is an Epson all in one PX650 which worked quite happily when I was a Sky Boradband customer from all devices. Now I can't even see it or seemingly add it to the network... in fact I'm not even sure I have a network in the truest sense. This is too hard BT when your competitors made it so simple.
Any thoughts will be much appreciated...

I have recently had a problem when turning my iPad on from shutdown, in that it takes at least four attempts to slide my finger across to get the home page. The screen is clean, and when I do eventually get the home page it all works perfectly. Any ideas?

I get the Apple logo then when it is ready for me to slide my finger across the lower part of the screen to get the home page, it takes at least four attempts. Can's see more than 10 home pages on my iPad

Strange thing.. I have so many Apps that I can't see them on my iPad anymore. It seems we can only have 10 home pages on the iPad?
If I connect the iPad to itunes, I DO see the 11th homepage. How do I get to see the 11th home page on my iPad?

Try a reset ( Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until Apple logo appears). Worked on my phone for other sounds like text and mail being extremely low. Might work for you and is quick and easy and you wont loose any of your data. Good luck!

Cannot reset default home page IE7

So when I start IE7 it throws an error "Can't find this" and then works fine thereafter.
If I change default to "about:blank" it is ok for the IE7 session but does not persist. The next time I start IE7, it is back to the garbage URL http://http//
Norton chat cannot tell me if Norton 360 is blocking my attempt to reset the home page. It is not a problem of redirection of the home page.

As far as a performance comparison goes, if there is one I have absolutely no idea. I will say this much; in my experience the ThinkVantage Technologies are good and they work, [can of worms just opened], I particularily like Access Connections.
If you are new to them then read up on them in Access Help or in the web, you will find masses of differing opinions.

How do I get my home page back and uninstall "home.mywebsearch"?

When I open up Mozilla Firefox the home page has been changed from "comcast.net" to "http://home.mywebsearch.com/index... Is this from Firefox? What happened to my homepage? What is this page, and how do I go back to the home page comcast.net? Who is "Mindspark" since it says it's the owner of the site when I click for more details. It says if you want to uninstall this just go to the "start" menu, "control panel" and "add/remove program" and select "MyWebSearch Bar" but this is not listed to add or remove. Can you tell me what happened and how to get my home page back? Thank you.

Yes, Jason, and I would like to assure you that for not being spyware, malware, etc., this thing sure acts like it. It phones home constantly and manages to still remain on my computer...even after deleting the app from my programs. I've had to resort to a very aggressive spyware removal application to get rid of your company's crap toolbar and the verdict is still out on whether it did the job. I rate applications on not just their usefulness but on the size of their footprint and how easy they are to remove if I don't want them. On a scale from 1-10, (10 being the best) MyWebSearch gets a negative 2.

Because there is a chance that the user might remember the url of a certain page and copy paste that one in the browser... in such type of scenarios also home page should come first
After i implemented Adf security in the redirect upon successful login i took the home.jspx page... but it is not going to home.jspx when i run some 'x' page and give the credentials for authentication.
This for our project they dont want to implement at taskflow level for each and every taskflow... is there any higher level where we can implement such feature because home page is common for all.

When you see the old number come up in the suggested choices look for a blue arrow to the right of the Contact. Tap the blue arrow and then tap Remove from Recents.

Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
