Cannot get a tif to convert to pdf

does anyone know how to convert a tif to pdf in Adobe Reader.  I downloaded the program, but I get a box that says cannot be completed.

Hi Buddy,
This can be done using CreatePDF. You can even utilize the free trial to see how you like it! https://createpdf.acrobat.com
Thank you!

How do I get word to convert to pdf? It worked yesterday and not working today.

    Hi Whiteowl 1957,
What are you using to convert the Word file, and what is happening when you try? Do you get an error message? If so, what is it?
Are you using Mac OS or Windows?

  • Cannot get Adobe Reader to load a PDF on Firefox. Tried all the recommended solutions, none work

Every time I try to download a PDF file from a website, I get an error message that "Adobe Acrobat/Reader cannot be opened in a web browser, close it and try again". I have uninstalled and re-installed both firefox and adobe reader as well, and then followed the suggestions again. Still doesn't work. I am running Windows XP

Also, sorry -- one more thought:
When I run through the "Troubleshoot compatibility" it tells me that something is incompatible ("issues found: Incompatible Application").  when it asks me, "which version of Windows did this program work on before?" it doesn't give me windows 7 as an option.

    Hi conversionnewbie,
Are you able to select the text in Word by triple-clicking inside the text box? (Sometimes text selections can be tricky in converted files.) If you can't select the text, then I'm guessing that the PDF was created from a scanned file (so the text becomes images). Make sure that OCR is enabled when you convert the file to Word. OCR is enabled by default in the ExportPDF web interface, but can be disabled in Adobe Reader. If you're converting to Word from within Adobe Reader, make sure that OCR is enabled and that the correct language is selected:
Please let us know that works for you!

  • CS3 cannot open original TIF file after "save as" Photoshop PDF

Mac OS X 10.4.11, Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1), 2.5 GB RAM, and the files are saved to the afp file server (Windows Server 2000 SP4 running Services For Macintosh). When saving a TIF file as a PDF the original TIF file cannot be opened again.
Once Photoshop starts doing this I have to restart the system before the corruption problem goes away. The problem with that is if I do not catch it, I might convert 20 or so files in a day before I catch the problem. Once the TIF files are corrupt, the only thing I can do is restore from backup (long process) or save as again from the PDF file to TIF to place in my InDesign file. When I open the original TIF file I get an error: "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file." OR "Could not complete your request because of a problem parsing a TIFF file."
Has anyone else had this problem?

    Justin,
    >and the files are saved to the afp file server
If you are saving directly to the server, that can be trouble, particularly if IT is clueless or not vigilant about network issues and maintenance. Adobe specifically warns against working across your network. Please see the FAQ and numerous topics on this "problem".
Basically, drag-copy the file to your local drive. Work locally. Save locally. Drag-copy the completed file back to the server.
Let us know if working as I've just described "solves" the problem.

  • Cannot use "convert to PDF" even though I'm subscribed

I am subscribed to Adobe PDF pack (I am correctly signed in using the right profile, and the subscription is showing in my account in the Adobe app).  When I click on the convert to PDF button in order to convert a Word file to PDF a query box appears asking whether I want to subscribe.  If I click cancel, and try the function again, the box reappears.  If I choose the other option which is "confirm", I get a message saying that I have a current subscription set to auto renew.  I click ok but the query box doesn't go away.  If I click cancel, the function button still cannot be used - I just keep getting the same query box.  I am using an iPad Air ver 7.0.4.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for trying to help but your instructions do not work.  I signed out, then signed back in.  I then clicked on a document (.doc) to convert.  I clicked the convert button (second from the top right).  A box appears titled "convert to PDF".  It has a "cancel" link at the top right.  If I click that, I can go no further and the box reappears.  If I click subscribe, it asks me to subscribe, which I already have.  If I click cancel, nothing happens - the subscription box stays.  If I click confirm subscribe and enter my Apple Store details, the box stays.  If I then click cancel to get rid of the box and then click convert, the subscribe box reappears.

  • Converting to PDF - getting Out of Memory??

using CS3. Ive tried converting in press quality and smallest size and both give me out of memory. Have tried printing to PDF and get out of memory. Have tried dropping the INDD file into Acrobat Pro and get out of memory. Have tried printing to POstscript and get out of memory. I know I have plenty of hard drive space and ram so thats not a problem, I also convert to PDF's all the time and still can with other files but not this stubborn one. The only thing unique about this file is that its 36"x72" but its just basic text and a single not-so-great quality TIF enlarged in the background. What could be causing this?

its not really large of a file at all except for in dimensions but ive done poster sized stuff before with no probs. It never gave me any spicific errors other than just "OUt of Memory", nothing mentioned about DLL's. Out of curosity, I took off the feathering edges that I had on the background graphic and well, it worked! I have no idea why the feathering would have to do with it running out of memory but I guess Ill just have to deal with it with no feathering till I figure out otherwise

Bought the adobe product to convert a pdf image to an RTF file but cannot figure out how to get it to work

    HI wjleshe,
I've checked your account using the email address that you use here in the forums, but I don't see any order history. Did you perhaps sign up with a different email address? Or did you sign up via the Reader mobile app for iOS or Android? If you got your subscription via an in-app purchase, Adobe wouldn't have record of your order. And, you would need to contact the app store if there is a problem with your subscription.

  • Just upgraded Tiger to Leopard.  Clarisworks not supported.   I can successfully convert CW4.0 doc's to AW6.0 doc's using MacLink Plus Deluxe but the problem is I than cannot print them or convert to PDF, either.

Just upgraded Tiger to Leopard.  Clarisworks not supported.   I can successfully convert CW4.0 doc's to AW6.0 doc's using MacLink Plus Deluxe and then work on them but the problem is that I cannot print them.  Neither can I convert to PDF.

If I was trying to get someone else to do my work,
I wouldn't be posting this saying what I have said
would I? I'm not unwilling to do the work myself. From what was stated in your OP, it seemed that you
were.I'm sorry if it seemed that way. I don't want something for nothing. I've spent MANY hours, which I don't have, trying to work this out. I have hit a point where I don't think my expertise is going to solve the problem. That's why I've turned to some experts who might say something along the lines of, "Hey, I know what that is...you're compiling against... and on the Unix box, it's compiling against..." I was NOT looking for something like, "See the code below that fixes your problem."
The only problem is that I don't have direct access
to the sun unix machines I'm running the app on,
so I can't run a profiler on it. Ah, okay. So the only knowledge you have of how it
performs on those machines is from your instructor
running it and then telling you how long it took? No. I can SSH into the servers and run the program from a command line. But I wouldn't be able to install any profiler programs.
You could ask your prof to run it with -Xprof or
-Xhprof or whatever. Or you could put in a bunch of
timing statements to get a rough idea of which parts
are making it take that extra 39 minute or whatever.is -Xprof a java command line option? If so, I will look into doing that. Maybe it's available on the machines at school. Thanks for that input.

  • I am unable to convert a pdf file to word as I get the error message indicates it contains XFA forms

I am unable to convert a pdf file to word as I get the error message that pdf files containing XFA forms cannot be saved to the specified format.

    Hi curtlea,
XFA forms are not regular PDF's but XML files in a PDF shell.
To create a word file from those files, you first have to flatten the XFA forms by printing as PDF with the Adobe PDF Printer.
Then you can save using ExportPDF the created static PDF as Word document.
