Cannot get Airplay to work after upgrading to OSX 10.8/iTunes 11.1.3

I have recently upgraded my Mac Mini to OSX 10.8.5 from OSX 10.7.5 and am now unable to play music or internet radio on my stereo. Under OSX 10.7.5 I was able to play iTunes (11.0.3) music and internet radio on my stereo wirelessly via of an AE (A1084).
As part of the update to OSX 10.8.5 a newer version of iTunes was installed (11.1.3) and from that time on I have been unable to play music or internet radio on my stereo. Whenever I attempted to connect to the AE I received a message stating, "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device Stereo Airport Express G. The network connection failed." I could, however, play both music and radio on a speaker attached to the Mini via USB cable.
Thinking it was the AE causing the problem, I replaced it with a newer version, an A1264. This upgrade now allows connection to the AE and the music/radio begins to play on the stereo, however after a few seconds the transmission cuts out only to resume after about 30 seconds. This stop/start of the transmission had me thinking it was a buffering problem.
I tried this suggestion found on the Forum:
First delete any files that start with 'com.apple.itunes.*' in ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/. This will clear your iTunes preferences.
Next, open Terminal.app and run each line one at a time:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes file-buffer-size 512000
defaults write com.apple.iTunes stream-buffer-size 512000
No luck. I still get stutters and skips.
To compound the matter, I have an iPod running iOS 6.1.3 (M540LL/A) with Tunein Radio installed that I use to stream internet radio to the same AE/stereo with no problems, so I know the modem/router feed is good and that the network is functioning properly.
Strangely, I have read no other posts of this problem cropping up after upgrading so it may be a setting on my system that is causing the problem.
Any suggestions?

I have what sounds like a very similar issue.
I had my Denon 3312ci working perfectly with Airplay from my 2013 iMac running iTunes. Upgraded to iTunes 11.1.3, and now when I attempt to Airplay direct from iTunes to the 3312, it plays for about half a second and then stops. Displayed on the Amp then says "Assigning Network". The amp starts dropping ping packets at this point. About 15-20 seconds later the pings start coming back, but no Airplay.
I tried different network cables, resetting the microprocessor, a different switch, changing between DHCP and static IP. Was about to make a warranty call to Denon, when I thought maybe I should try Airplaying directly from iphone and ipad. Much to my surprise, it worked from those devices.
I prefer to use my iMac to Airplay rather than ipad/iphone as I found I got next to no audio drop outs using it that way (they are both using wired network), where as ipad/iphone occasionally would get a moment of silence in the middle of a song.
My network set up is fine. I can use internet radio and connect to DLNA services fine on the amp. It is just airplay between iTunes 11.1.3 and the amp where the issue lies.
No fixes as yet, but I have logged a support call with Denon Australia to see what they say.

Update:
Just took the Lithium Ion Battery out of the speaker and disconnected from Power Supply. Re-connected and the soundlink is restored ??

How can I switch on my Apple TV speakers when it asks "multiple speakers" I cannot switch off my computer speakers and switch on my Apple TV speakers so cannot get airplay to work?

How can I get my Apple TV airplay to work from my PC. On the airplay symbol it says Multiple Peakers please choose but I cannot switch off my computer speakers and switch on my Apple TV speakers so cannot get airplay to work from my PC. Everything is OK when using my Ipod touch.

Don't use Multiple Speakers option and just choose the AppleTV
What are you trying to Airplay? If it's iTunes content it's simpler to 'pull' the stream from the Computers icson on AppleTV by selecting the libarry and media.
If you are attempting to Airplay the desktop you can't.

I travelled in a new car today, a friend paired his phone to the car and it played music via bluetooth/air play button, i paired my phone and got jack diddly nowt.... would it be worth taking my phone to a local Apple store??? frustration is killing me.

Keyboard shortcut command-w stopped working after upgrading to OSX 10.9.4

Dear all,
after upgrading to OSX 10.9.4 the keyboard shortcut command-w stops working after about 30 min of having the machine powered on. Interestingly, this phenomenon is not restricted to a certain app (Safari, etc.).
In system preferences > keyboard all settings have been set to "default".
Anybody else having the same issue?

just as quick documentation for possibly other error sources for the problem "shortcut command-w not working":
If problem persists close all applications (allL!). Then open one app like Safari, open several tabs and check whether command-w works.
Reason: it could happen that you've set command-w inadvertently in another app like Snagit. And when setting this the app did not tell you "listen dummy, this is a standard command, do you really want to replace a standard command with a app-specific command. Don't be surprised if it doesn't work when the app is running."
This is what happened to me. So close all apps and check whether problem persists.

Cannot get iCloud to work on upgraded iPhone

This week I upgraded my iPad (iPad 2), & iPhone (iPhone 4) to IOS7.
I did the iPad2 first. There were no problems with the upgrade to IOS7. After upgrading, I logged into iCloud on my iPad using the correct ID and gave correct password. There were no problems. I was able to wanted to turn on "Find my iPad" without any problem.
I upgraded the iPhone4 next. There were no problems with the upgrade to IOS7. After upgrading, I logged into iCloud, again using the correct ID and correct password. I immediately received this error message:
"Photo Stream - Photos for the iCloud account "iCloud" cannot be accessed. Review your account information in Settings".
You are given the choice of "Ignore" and "Settings". I pressed the "Settings" button and arrived at the main settings screen, with no other information. However, the iCloud setting is greyed out (disabled). I cannot access any iCloud settings. Likewise, in the "Photos & Camera" setting, the icons for "My Photo Stream" and "Photo Sharing" are greyed out (disabled).
Nothing I do will allow me to access iCloud settings.
I tried turning off the iPhone (resetting it). Once I turn it on again, I go to settings/iCloud. Tapping this brings up the iCloud login. I enter the correct password (for the correct ID), and immediately get the above "Photo Stream..." error.
I have tried this 4 times now. I can say with some confidence that resetting the phone does NOT fix the problem.
SO - what is going on, and how can I get iCloud to work on my iPhone?

p.s. The iPad's iCloud is working just fine.

If your iCloud setting is greyed out, go to Settings>General>Restrictions>Accounts (near the bottom) and set this to Allow Changes.

I cannot get AirPlay to work on the latest MacBook Air?

I have the latest Apple TV and the latest MacBook Air yet I cannot get the Airplay icon to appear on my MacBook Air.

can the atv see the computers sharedlib?
can the atv access youtube and the likes?
if non of those things then likely the problem is that the atv don't have a network connection

USB- hub stopped working after upgrading to OSX Mountain lion

I have a macbook pro 13 inch, year 2011.
On my desk, I attach it to a thunderbolt display. To those USB-ports, I attached the belkin desktop USB hub (model F4U017) with 7 USB ports.
All worked fine and without a glitch untill I upgraded to OSX Moutain Lion.
Suddenly it won't connect annything I plug into it.
All the cables of the hubb still work fine, those have been tested.
When I tested the hub with a very old iMac (i think still with leopard it), it worked again.
To be sure, I also tested a 4-port hub without external power supply on moutain lion. That one still works fine.
How come my 7-port hub won't work any longer? How can I make it work?

Not sure. Might be an issue with the USB drivers in mountain lion.
I've had an issue with a couple hubs not working after plugging back into my macbook pro while it's on.
Fixed by restarting my computer, but that's super annoying and takes me back to my Win 95 days. Never saw this issue before I upgraded to mountain lion.

Face time stopps working after upgrading to osX 10.9.2

I upgraded to OSX 10.9.2 last night and facetime stopped working. If I call out to my wifes ipad, it rings my ipad which uses a completely different email. If I try to answer the call on the ipad facetime fails. If I let it ring off the hook the call facetime fails. I have already run through the troubleshooting listed on the support sites that Mat 00 suggested in another thread such as playing with the date and time settings and that does not fix the issue. The computers connection to the internet is working and I have full functionality otherwise. Any suggestions?

On the first issue of calling the apparent "wrong Number" or Apple ID I would check the Address Card in the Contacts app for that person.
Also Upgrade tends to refer to OS X major Named increases in the Mac OS X version Numbers such as OS X 10.8.x (Mountain Lion) to OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).
Updates tends to be the ones in between, such as OS X 10.9.1 to OS X 10.9.2 for example.
I would remove the Apple ID from the FaceTime App and then shut it off and Quit.
Then I would restart the app, add the Apple ID and Enable it again.

Resetting a Cisco IP Phone Model 7960 or 7940.
In previous releases, you could enter the reset code when a phone was on-hook at the main phone screen. With this release, you can no longer reset the phone from the main screen; instead, you must use the Settings screen or any other screen that does not accept user input. This new behavior results from a customer requirement to allow beginning a dialing sequence with * or # while the phone is on-hook.
To reset a Cisco IP Phone model 7960 or 7940, follow these steps:
Procedure
Step 1 From the main screen, press Settings to display the Settings screen.
Step 2 Enter **#** by using the keypad.
The IP phone goes through the reset cycle.
Note This reset sequence also works from any other screen that does not accept user input.

Cannot Get Airplay to Work with Airpot Express on PC Laptop

Until recently, I had Airplay available on both my PC Laptop (Windows 7) and MacBook Pro (OS 10.8.4). I have had to reboot Airport Express because of a power failure. The MacBook immediately picked up the Airport Express and iTines Airplay works fine. However, the laptop cannot find Airport Express, When I run Airport Utiliity, it scans and rescans but cannot locate it. iTunes on the PC does not let me configure for Airplay. Any help would be appreciated.

To disable the Windows 7 software firewall:
Right-click on the Network icon in the System Tray (lower-right corner of the Windows desktop.)
Click on "Open Network and Sharing Center."
In the lower left of the Network and Sharing Center window, click on Windows Firewall.
In the next window, click on "Turn Windows Firewall on or off."
In the Customize Settings window click on the "Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended)" option to disable it. (Note: You will return here to re-enable the Windows Firewall.)
Click OK to close the window.
To enable IPv6 on your laptop's wireless interface:
Right-click on the Network icon in the System Tray.
Click on "Open Network and Sharing Center."
Click on "Change adapter settings" in the left side of the window.
Right-click on your wireless connection, and then, choose Properties.
In the Properties list verify that "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" option is checked. If it's not, enabled it.

Unable to get yahoo mail working after upgrading to ios5

I updated my IPhone 4G at the same time & have no problems with the phone. I get the message of server is unavailable. I have deleted the mail account & reentered it & continue to get the same problem.

Spectrasonics Trilian won't start/work after upgrading to OSX Mavericks using Logic Pro 9.1.8

Anyone has a clue why this happens or how to fix it? Is it just that Spectrasonics hasn't released a software update for Mavericks yet or could it be something else?
