Unlike most users of hbogo with airplay I get video but no audio when streaming to my 3d generation apple tv. I have tried every speaking setting I could find on the
TV but to no avail. I am trying to use the TV speakers because there are no external speakers attache.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    1.    Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
    2.    Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
    3.    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    4.    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    5.    Restart your router.
    6.    Restart your mobile device.

I would be concerned too if the speaker on my iPhone was not working. I found an article with some steps to take when you are experiencing issues like this.
I recommend reviewing the full article, but step 2 specifically stood out to me for the issue you are experiencing:

Are you now using a different username from the one you used prior to migrating? If so that is the reason for the problem. You might, then, give this a try:
To fix Home folder permissions
Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the command line prompt enter or paste the following command line:
sudo chown -R `id -un`:`id -gn` ~
Press RETURN. You will be prompted to enter your admin password which will not be echoed.

My 2009 iMac is making a very loud noise. It sounds like a rapid, pulsating electronic noise. It stops when the screen brightness is adjusted or when using certain apps. But it always returns and is getting louder. The unit was shut down for 4 months and the house temperature was set to 5C. It was powered up 2 weeks ago and ran fine for a while. Then in the last 5 or 6 days the problem started. 5 days ago I did watch a bike race for 3 or 4 hours from a quasi legal stream. I am not tech savvy. Just very confused as I've had a trouble free run so far. Ditto with my iphone5.

I would recommend taking it in immediately to your local Apple Store or AASP to be loooked at by an Apple Genius. I suspect you made a goof somewhere but diagnosing noises without seeing it is really difficult.

How do I get audio for my apps without headphones? For some reason I can only hear the audio for many of my apps through my headphones. I've got the latest version of the OS so I'm not sure what else to do. Volume works fine for all apps that use video like Netflix and YouTube. Help!

Instead of turning it off, try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo.
If the reset is not enough to knock a little sense into it, make sure that everything is backed up and restore the iPad to the factory settings.

In case anyone has had the same problem as me, I have just managed to fix this by doing the following:
Switch off Mac
Switch back on in Safe Mode (Hit power button, then hold Shift key until a loading bar appears at the bottom of the screen).
Switch off Mac again
Remove power cord and wait 15 seconds
Plug power cord back in and hold down the keys alt, cmd, p, r all at the same time until you hear Starting chime for a second time and hopefully your audio will back.

Cannot get audio on movies.

I have two atv units. both are hooked up via hdmi to their respective viewing equipment. I can hear the menu feedback clicks, etc., but cannot get audio on movies. music works fine. tv shows sometimes. Any ideas?

Try changing the Dolby Digital settings - if set to On and the device doesn't decode dolby digital you don't seem to get audio - at least on my TV.

I doubt you are doing anything wrong. First day glitches
Reset the device.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Make sure you have Mail selected here > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

What are you talking about ...toggle automatically? That setting is in the date and time. Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPhone to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPhone under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

iDVD - i am creating a menu for a dvd, i cannot get background music to play in the menu.

P.S. i have followed the instructions on the manual of how to apply music in a menu. it still does not work.

If dragging the audio track you want to use into the audio bin of the menu
doesn't play try changing themes and then change back to the original theme and add the audio track again.

Cannot get audio working on Mac Pro in Windows XP

Hey all, I've got a Mac Pro (late 2006, 3GHz), and I'm running Windows XP. Trying to get audio working, installed BootCamp using the Leopard Install DVD, but no dice. No sound at all, not audio devices showing up in Device Manager/Control Panel, you know the usual places.
Ive retried the installer, when it gets to SigmaTel audio drivers it says "An Instance of this installer is already running". I'm assuming that's a bad thing but I don't know how to fix it....

I may have a solution for you.
Install *[_THIS WINDOWS UPDATE_|http://files.filefront.com/kb835221exe/;9494950;/fileinfo.html]* while in windows.
Once you have installed the above update then repair your bootcamp driver by inserting the Leopard disk and choosing repair. This will repair the drivers. Once this is done, you audio should work.

Not getting notifications for certain apps

Recently, my Iphone has stopped sending me push notifications from certain apps.
I checked the notification center, and all the apps in question have the right permissions. To be sure, I checked them all off and on again, but nothing changed.
I deleted each and restarted my phone before reinstalling them, but still nothing.
I'm running the most up-to-date version of iOS7, and the problem has only come about recently ( before and after the recent system update too) ; I was using iOS7 for months before this, so I'm certain the OS itself isn't the issue. Should I back up my phone and restore it?

my iPhone 5s has stopped receiving calls and apps like safari or health or tips or podcasts as well as Siri is not even responding. I would realize I had a call after the missed call notification pops up. The calendar on the home page no longer shows the date and the analog clock on the home screen has frozen as of the time of the upgrade to ios8. At this point the phone is not of any benefit.

Cannot get my paid January Apps Upgrade back

In January 08 I bought the App Pack ( Mail, Weather, Stocks, Notes ) and installed it from my little Macbook. This weekend I had to reinstall my iPod touch - but I sold my MacBook so I simply used my iMac 24" to do so. Everything went fine - BUT - I am not getting my paid for apps!

And the last sentence is pretty much a joke...
" If the issue continues, try restoring iPod touch on the computer you used to purchase iPod touch January Software Upgrade. "
Obviously I am unable to do so - I sold the MacBook.
So how else am I going to get back my paid for apps?

Apple better bring that thing back! I paid for it and I want it on my Touch again - I have no intention of paying for the 2.0 since I am NOT going to upgrade the touch to 2.0 ( I am getting an iphone 3G so I have no use for it on my touch )
