CANNOT GET BBMS FROM ONE CONTACT ON LIST ONLY

I am unable to receive BBMs from one particular contact on my BBM list. I was mid-conversation with the person and all of a sudden they were not responding. I can PIN/text/call the person but cannot receive their BBMs. They receive mine, but I do not see that a little R stating that have read my messages. I can see when they update their picture, but not their status. When they try to send me a message they only get a check, no D or R showing that it went through. They are able to BBM other people on their list, just not me. I have done multiple battery pulls, i even uninstalled and re-installed BBM. I have deleted them on my BBM list, and in my contacts and re-added them, nothing. I checked my activity logs and didnt see any errors relating to BBM. Can anyone help with this?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
The other person should probably do thes steps as well. Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

amyhs, thanks for those details. This is certainly quite odd that this has been going on so long and we definitely want to get to the bottom of this. Now, you stated that you have reached out to technical support and spoke with a tier two technical support representative. At this time, what actions or troubleshooting steps were taken? Are you aware if a ticket with our network technicians was ever created? As well, have you ever previously had an iPhone and are you aware if the users that are unable to message you are using iMessage?

ICloud sync problem - getting messages from one contact on two different phones

My partner and I accidentally synced our phones to the same iCloud account and all of our contacts merged. We solved that problem but now we're both getting messages from one of my contacts at the same time. We've both deleted the contact and the message string, and that hasn't seemed to help. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Reset iMessage by turning it off and then back on. You might have to restore phones as new because I message Registers the phone with the cloud.

Blackberry Messenger: Cannot receive message from one contact only

I have been using Blackberry messenger since a few months ago. It has been working fine until 3 weeks ago that it stopped working with only one of my contacts:
I message with my friend every day and out of the blue one day I can't receive any messages from him anymore, and all the messages I send to him would only turn to "d" status even he's read them already (and he'd appear as away on my contact list with a little clock next to the smiley... messages never turn to "R").
My handheld is on a BES and his isn't. I am in the US and he is in Europe. Not sure if that's the reason... but I have other contacts that are either on or not on the same BES and there's no problem with them. He also has contacts that are in the US as well and doesn't have any problem with them either...
We have tried battery pull, shortening name, deleting and re-adding and no luck.

Starting to type a name and getting a list of matches is good but it's not a substitute for being able to choose twenty or thirty names from your address book and dragging them into the "To" field. Of course many contacts can be put into a group but I may want to send occasional emails to many people who don't fit any group, and there may be no need to create a group just for that email.

To resolve this, you need to reconfigure the "Oracle Application Testing Suite Helper Service" (OATSHelperSvr) to start as a user who has privledges to run open script tests rather than the default SYSTEM user.
Reconfiguring the OATSHelperSvr Service:
1. Open the services panel (Start > Run > services.msc)
2. Find the Oracle Application Testing Suite Helper Service
3. Right Click > Properties then select the Log On Tab
4. Specify an interactive user that has rights to run OpenScript (test by logging in as that user and running tests):
5. Click OK
6. Restart the service after dialogs are closed by Right Click > Restart
7. You should now repeat this process for the "Oracle Application Testing Suite Agent Service" (eLoadAgentMon) Service (Two services in
total)
You should now retry running the test in Oracle Test Manager

You can duplicate an address card by copying and pasting.
Select an address card in the Address Book window.
Choose Edit > Copy, then choose Edit > Paste.
Then edit the names and other details or set up the 4 cards and copy and paste each field as required

Random iMessages disappeared from one contact

My home wifi stopped working so I turned off the imessage option to so my regular texts would send more quickly. However, when I turned the iMessage function back on, it continually says that it's attempting to activate yet I am able to send iMessages. Then I realized that most of my iMessages from one contact have disappeared. All that remains are 'some' regular texts...and some messages which I know were iMessages but they are showing in green as if they were regular text messages. Any idea why select texts from one contact have disappeared...and if they will come back once I manage to get my phone to indicates that it has reactived the iMessage function (though I know iMessages are sending already)?

My phone is now indicating that iMessage function is activiated but the iMessages described above are still gone

How do spammers get names from my Contacts?

Can someone explain how spammers get names from your contacts? The typical e-mail says it is from a person that is in my contact list but of course the actual e-mail address is not from that person. It says that it is addressed to my name and the e-mail will say something like, "Dan, you need to try this!" and then has a link which of course I never click on. So how do they know both the name of my friend and me? Is that something they got from my friend's computer, from mine or from other traffic they have intercepted between us? I'll copy the headers below, removing the name of my friend and my comcast, if that helps. I note that there is a spam rating of "00000". Mail spam filters don't seem to help this kind of junk. Any other way to catch it?

Someone has gained access to the Contact attached to your email account, probaby online (they don't need access to your computer) It is now too late to change that but change your password.
Both Comcast and Yahoo are about as secure as a wet paper bag.

You can go to the Apple online store and purcahse a copy of Mountain Lion. This will give you a redemption code, which you can use to download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Unfortuantely, I'm not aware of any other way to legally purchase it. I have never seen Apple release Muontain Lion on DVD.
In terms of Apple Service, they just need the serial number of the machine to check the purcahse date. It is usually correct, to within a few weeks. A quick Google search should give you the correct number to dial.

I would delete the account and try to re-enter it. Also, you have to let your firm's IT department know that you want to sync work email on your personal devices before they actually work.
