Cannot get CS6 to boot up

Photoshop CS6 will not boot up.  I click the icon at the bottom of my Windows 7 screen, but nothing happens.
I installed this program--the non-extended version--in April, 2014.  It's worked fine.  Then, recently, I clicked "yes" to a trial version of the CS6 extended version.  I used the extended trial version earlier today, but now when I want to reboot my computer and get back to CS6---no response.  I noticed that ever since the trial version began to run, every day I would see a pop-up asking me to sign up for the monthly cloud version.  One of the options was to continue to trial.  I simply "x'ed" out and went into CS6, saying that I wanted to quit.  The continue-the-trial option just became greyed out and is no longer available.    Does this mean that the trial is over and I will revert to my resident copy of  CS6 on my computer?  If so, how to I get the version on my computer to become active once again?   Right now, the installed version of CS6 will not operate on my computer.  Please help.
Fred

I would do a clean uninstall and then re-install CS6. Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

I cannot get CS6 to recognize my Sony DCR-TRV340 camera for capturing video from that camera.  The CS6 capture box keeps putting up a message that capture device is off line.  The Sony DCR-TRV340 camera is not listed in the CS6 Device Type  list in the CS6 DV/HDV device control settings box of Sony cameras.  I've downloaded what I think are the correct drivers for the TRV340, and when I plug the camera into the computer, the computer shows it listed in the devices and printers box, but CS6 will not recognize it.  Do I need to install these drivers into a specific folder in the CS6 program?  If so, where do I find these drivers in the windows 7 professional operating system, and into which CS6 file folder would I copy them to?

Most camera's are not listed in Device controle, set it to Sony and generic. Yours is very old its a Digital 8 camera (I still got a TRV210). Johns second link wont work with your camera.
You do not need to download drivers nor do you need to install anything. Most likely its the Legacy driver.
    Read though this document.

General rule is connect camera to pc wait until windows reconigzes the camera.
    Fire up Premiere and capture.
Never connect the camera to pc when the camera is on.

I have installed a new HD. my G5  will R/W ok but I cannot get it to boot from this HD so I can remove old HD which is becoming unreliable intermittedly
I have installed system , and tried preferences but new disc does not show.

What Format is it, & how did you put the OS on it? Cloned the other one, or used the Install Disc?
Does it show as a boot choice if you hold the Option/alt key down at power up?

  • Cannot get rEFInd to boot new Linux install

I am trying to setup a fresh install of Arch on a new SSD on my 2007 MacBook 2.1. This particular MacBook has a 32 bit EFI system, but everything else is 64 bit. The wiki article has some information for installing on this particular MacBook, but the instructions aren't super thorough.
This MacBook is already running Arch on an old HDD and is booting with grub. I remember that setting this up originally was a huge pain and I ended up installing arch onto the drive through another laptop (a Dell) with similar architecture and transferring the drive over once done. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to this other machine.
In order to get started with installing to the new drive, I decided to use the arch-install-scripts from within my working installation to install Arch to the SSD connected through a SATA-USB adapter. The installation of Arch went fine and I can chroot to it no problem.
Installing the bootloader has been the hard part. I have managed to get the computer to load rEFInd off the SSD if I set it up just right (installed as EFI/BOOT/bootia32.efi), and rEFInd can even detect and boot my old grub install from the HDD (as long as the HDD is internal and the SSD is attached over USB). Unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me get rEFInd to boot into the new Arch install on the SSD. I have tried placing the vmlinuz and init images in various locations to help with auto detection, and I have tried various combinations of manual configuration in refind.conf, but nothing seems to get me anywhere. The manual configurations just get me "Error: Not Found While Loading vmllinuz-linux" and the auto configuration only ever finds my old install.
I'm happy to post any configuration files here that are useful, but I'm not sure what people would want to see.
The SSD is setup as gpt with a fat32 ESP set to mount to /boot/efi, an ext4 partition set to mount to /, and a swap partition at the end.

So, refind basically works/is started by the mb's firmware?
Please post your refind.conf (without all the comments, no manual stanzas!)
Also, to simplify things, I'm now assuming the ssd is the only internal drive installed, your old install/hdd is disconneted.
Use the arch-install cd , refind should detect it and allow you to boot, once the installer-system is up and running, please provide ouptut from lsblk.
Also, mount both partitons , and show what files are where  ls -l YOURROOTPART/boot  and ls -l YOURESPPART/ just to get a better overview.

  • Cannot get to dual-boot screen after Win 8.1 upgrade

    Hello,
I have an iMac with Mavericks. Recently installed Win 8 to dual-boot. Instrux then were to hold OPT button during startup to be presented with options for OS with which to boot.
Since Win 8.1 upgrade there is no way to get to that prompt. MS/Win help topics not useful (unsurprisingly). I have the original install disk but would far prefer to save my current config of Mav. Thoughts for workaround?
    Cheers,
    Michael C

holding down option key at bootup not giving you the bootmenu have nothing to do with win8.1
even if one never installed anything in terms bootcamp at all then holding down the option key should give the option between osx and the restore to last clean osx version
if you don't get the option then I'd say the cause is not windows as the menu is handled by the bootloader which is before windows takes over

  • Cannot get OS to boot

Several days ago I got a blue screen with nothing but a cursor. If I try and boot the machine I get the apple and the pinwheelthen nothing but the blue screen and cursor.
I can access the drives by holding the Option key and starting the machine but, even selecting the drives it will still stop at the blue screen. I have used disk utility to check the drive and I can also access the drive using command line. I have run all the checks, from Disk Utility, on the drive and it says that the drive is OK.
I re-installed OS 10.4. Still the same blue sccreen. Since this is not my data drive I zeroed the HD, trying to make sure the old boot record was gone, re-installed the OS on the HD and still blue screen.
My G4 has been running OS X since the first release with no problem. Now this!
So, now a question. What could possibily be causing the OS to not boot? A chip on the motherboard or on the HD? Or what?
    I'm out of ideas.
    TIA, Scott
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

It's the original. That would make it approx. 2 or 3 years old.
    I'll give that a try.

  • I still cannot get firefox to boot up after downloading the update. Get message that I must restart the computer. Unable to delete the program so I can download the program again. Same message comes up.

firefox message comes up every time I try to get on the interner with firefox. I received an email about two weeks ago from Mozilla advising me to download the updated firefox program. I have not been able to get to firefox since. I have tried to delete mozilla from my computer and get the message that I must reboot the system. I get the same message when I try to get on the internet with firefox. STATEMENT IS "Your computer must be restarted to complete previous upgrade of Firefox."

Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click firefox.exe: Run as Administrator).
If that doesn't solve the problem then remove the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

  • I cannot get firefox to boot up when I double click on the icon

When I click on the "globe" to start Firefox Mozilla, my computer will not go to the internet. It won't do anything. The only way I can get online is through Windows Internet Ex0lorer now. I have been using Mozilla Firefox for many years and this has just happened in the last month. I have not gotten a new computer. The only thing that is new is new phones, but I have a cable modem and I don't do dial-up. I did download and add Webroot Spy Sweeper recently.

    Suggestions:
    * Try launching a profile manager as described at [[Managing profiles]].
    * Disable any active anti-viruses and firewalls and try again.
    * Try installing and launching another version of Firefox: '''[http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html beta]''' or '''[http://www.firefox.com/all-older.html 3.5.x]'''. (This will preserve all your bookmarks and user settings.)

  • Cannot get NB305 to boot USB drive to install Ubuntu 9.10 remix

I've created the Ubuntu 9.10 remix boot USB drive on another linux system.  I've altered the NB305 BIOS to boot from the USB stick first.  But whenever I restart the light on the USB stick flickers then the netbook continues by booting from the hard drive, i.e. Windows 7 starter.   Any suggestions?

I've created the USB drive twice.   The first on a MAC using the exact steps defined on the page

That one wouldn't boot, so I tried a SUSE Linux approach which I found googling which suggested:

  • I cannot get Vista to boot from CD in BIOS

Does anyone have a resolution to this problem:
When accessing BIOS (F12 on boot-up on my computer), I selected CD-RW as #1 in BIOS.  After saving and exiting, my computer doesn't see a bootable disc in the drive, and goes to internal HDD.  I am trying to wipe my hard drive with DBAN, that is
the disc that I have in the drive on boot-up.
I have also deselected all other drives (using the space bar in BIOS set-up) and that still doesn't work.
    HELP!!

Does it detect the drive when you are within Windows?
What is the optical CD/DVD drive, SATA or IDE? If it is SATA optical drive, you may need to configure settings in BIOS to let AHCI chipset use PATA emulation mode.
SATA optical drives are not available after you start a Windows Vista-based computer

  • Cannot get MacPro to allow me to boot to an alternative boot disk. Can choose in control panel but will not use the disk to boot. Also won't boot using disk selected using option key

My primary boot disk is encrypted as is a secondary boot disk (backup) but I cannot boot using any other disk. System 10.8.5, MacPro 4.1.
All disks mount using primary boot disk. All disks check out as OK and I have repaired permissions.
When I choose in the control panel the Mac boots but will always use my original boot disk.
When I select the disk using the option key at startup, the boot process stalls with a grey screen and a spinning cursor.
    Thanks,
    Dave

Still trying to figure this out. I erased the drive, did a format using disk util and then re-installed the system but I still cannot get the disk used as a startup drive. I also tried an external firewire drive and it won't allow me to boot from it either.
I can choose it starting up with the option key but it just gives me a blue screen and the spinning cursor.
If I select it in the startup pref pane it boots into my other startup drive only.

I have recently upgraded my MacBook to OSX Lion. Now I cannot get access to my windows-partition. I cannot choose booting from OSX Lion or Windows. Who can help???

I believe that Lion and Mountian Lion use BootCamp 4.0 and earlier versions used 3.0. I don't use BootCamp but from reading The link below you need to get new drivers, burn a cd and install. Check out #20 on this page.

I'm using a pc, (windows 8.1,) and I cannot get a thick and thin line with CS6. I want to draw, but I cannot get any linework like I should. I also use Sketchbook Pro, and ToonBoom, and I get wonderful linework. But not with Photoshop.
None of the brush tool settings have any effect, even in the preview. Is there a setting I need because I'm using a pc and not a mac?

    Thanks for your response,
I'm using a Fujitsu T901 laptop, with a stylus pen. Painting works great in Photoshop, but for drawing there is no sensitivity at all.  Frans Vischer

I had my hard drive cleaned and cannot install cs6 master collection from disk.  I am getting error message failed to initialize.  please download adobe advisor support.  I am using a pc and have windows 8.  Please help.

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.
    if cc (win):  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-application-failed.html
    if, your error is:
"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
    to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
    if you're using a mac:
    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    5. Start the installation again.
if everything applicable above fails, check your installation logs:
