CAnnot get HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One to install

Have attempted to install numerous ways the HP Officejet All-in-One 7210, using both HP sent disc for WIN7, Download from HP and Download from Microsoft.  Have even done a regedit of all 'HP' and fresh restart.  This printer worked fine under WIN XP Pro but now with a fresh install of WIN7.  It runs through the install but won't print.  In checking the properties of the Printer it shows model #unavailable, scanner unavailable and under driver shows nothing.  Can someone help?
This question was solved.

How is the printer connected - USB or wired LAN?  I would suggest you look in the CD for a util\ccc directory.  In this directory should be a series of batch files, uninstall_L1.bat through uninstall_L4.bat.  Disconnect the printer, then  run the uninstall_L1, then uninstall_L2 and uninstall_L3 files.  Next run the install program and do not connect the printer until prompted to by the installer.

  • I have an HP Officejet 7210 all in one printer, have loaded Printer Pro to IPad, get successful test pages in the Print Pro App but can't print emails (or anything). error message is No AirPrinter found.  How can I get connected?

I have an HP OfficeJet 7210 all in one printer, have loaded Printer Pro and had a successful test while in Printer Pro.  When I try to print and email I get NO AIR PRINTER message,  How can I connect my printer to my IPad and print emails.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If you're using the Printer Pro app, you're not going to use AirPrint services.
They are not the same thing.
Are you using the 'Open In' option to get the email into Printer Pro for printing?
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/printer-pro/id393313223?mt=8
Once installed, Printer Pro appears in the "Open In..." list on your device. This lets you print documents from Mail, Safari, ReaddleDocs and many other applications on your iPad that supports this function.
Using "Open In..." approach you can print files from many popular online storages: Dropbox, MobileMe iDisk, GoogleDocs. It just a matter of several taps to download your file via free Dropbox, iDisk or Google Docs application and send it to printer.

  • Fax issue with HP OfficeJet 7210 All-in-one

    Hi everyone,
I've got an issue with my HP OfficeJet 7210 All-in-one printer/fax (USB connection)
    I'm under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
When I was under Tiger, my printer/fax worked properly.
After the upgrade to Leopard, the printer/fax was still installed (HP 7210 was displayed as installed in the printer list of the System Preferences).
The printer works fine but the fax doesn't ! An error consistenly occurs when I try to send a fax.
Thus, I decided to uninstall every HP components from my Mac. Then I proceeded a fresh install of the CD software/driver I received with my printer/fax.
During the installation, I get an error : "HP AIO TRAP has quit". I went further and continue the installation till the end by ignoring the problem.
The printer is still working fine but I'm unable to install my fax in the System Preferences because the fax simply doesn't appear either on the "Fax" tab or on the "More printer" tab.
Only an unuseful "Bluetooth" fax appear, I can install it but it's impossible to send a fax with it : http://users.cybernet.be/ptsalos/hp-leo1.png
In the "More printer" tab I got this : http://users.cybernet.be/ptsalos/hp-leo2.png ... It seems that no fax are detected (no fax are displayed in "HP AiO Télécopie" and the "Add" button is gray).
I hope you could help me !
PS: the fax works properly under Bootcamp with Windows XP PRO SP2
    Thank you very much.

OK, so enough software is available (or will so been available) for me to start posting these types of workarounds (and getting more of you up and running). And remember, what I am about to tell you is NOT supported by HP, so if you run into problems doing this do NOT call customer support. I am posting this stuff here to try to help out the community. I will stop posting if this gets abused (even once).
If you have an HP OfficeJet 7310 or 7210 printer, go to HP.com/support, tell it you have a 7410, and download the installer (follow my instructions on the [Beta Announcement|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1252889&tstart=0 ] thread if you need more details.
    Now follow these instructions:
Step 1: Run the installer, and follow the onscreen prompts.
Step 2: When the screen comes up to select your printer, check the box my printer isn't listed and continue.
Step 3: On the next screen select the OfficeJet 7400 Series and continue.
Step 4: Select the type of connectivity to your device.
Step 5: Install the software (this may take several minutes).
Step 6: When you get to the Setup Assistant, skip it. Make sure you de-select the two checkboxes before you continue otherwise it will remind you every time you log in.
Step 7: Go into the Print & Fax System Preference and manually add your print queue.
Step 8: Go into the Print & Fax System Preference and manually add your fax queue.
Step 9: Start using your device.
Congratulations, you now should have a fully functioning device under Leopard. So what won't work with this work around:
    1) The documentation on your device will be wrong.
    2) If you did not previously set up a station ID for the fax, one will not be set.
    3) Device Manager will not know anything about your device so the functionality there will be pretty useless (most stuff can be done through other means though). However if you already have a Tiger install, even this should (theoretically work).
    4) Good question, if you run into any other issues post them here, I may have forgotten something.
    WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Please install the final drivers when they come out, and preferable the beta drivers too for your device too! Just because things are working for you does not mean that this configuration is supported (its not) or that there aren't any known problems (there may be, we certainly don't test it) so please take caution and update when possible.
    Just trying to help.

  • Officejet 7210 all-in-one

I've had this printer for about 5 years, running on an XP system.  I recently purchased a new computer running on Windows 7.  Windows 7 found drivers to run the printer and it is up and going fine.  However, I've lost the ability to scan with the printer. I have the old CD (version 4.7.1) but it's for XP.  I can install that software to run my scans on the scanner part of the printer?  If not, what are my other options?

Hey there scott77, Welcome to the Forums!
I noticed you purchased a new computer now running Windows 7 and you are looking for the Full Feature Driver and Software so you can have the scanning capabilities back as you did with your XP.
The great news is, you don't need the disk as there is a download available for you to use to install the software.

    Hi LChristofaro,
I have researched your error message and the Msiexec.exe error and it is an issue with windows installer. I recommend restarting your windows installer.
    To do this:
    1. Run "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks).
    2. Double-click "Windows Installer" in the Services list.
    3. Click Stop and click OK.
    4. Click Start and click OK.
Restart you computer and try the install again.
Let me know if this helped.

  • Can't get HP Officejet J6450 All-in-One to scan or print

    Hello!
I have an HP Officejet J6450 All-in-One which I would like to use with my Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.4. I would prefer a wireless setup. It printed wirelessly up until I tried installing the HP Full Feature Software & Drivers from their website (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-74787-1 &lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=219&product=3635399&sw_lang=)and subsequently deleted them once I realized it did not work. I also did not want to install a bulky and unnecessary set of programs that I do not need.
I went to the System Preferences/Print & Fax and deleted the HP printers that had been added, then I went to Applications/HewlettPackard and clicked on HP uninstall, and uninstalled the program. Since I have experience with Windows (lol), I decided to take the safe route and make sure my HD & permissions had not been corrupted. I put in my OS X install disk that came with my Macbook Pro, rebooted to the disk, went to Disk Utility and Repaired the Permissions (it only had one that it could not fix), repaired the HD (it found a few issues), and then went one more round of Repair Permissions and then HD just to be sure. I rebooted to the HD and ejected the boot disk. I connected the printer via the USB cable.
Then I found this: (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&softwareitem=mp-7 4787-1&os=219&product=3635399&sw_lang=&docname=c01910186) It says on there that Snow Leopard should have everything I need to scan and print with this printer. However, upon trying the three methods, none worked. Here are the results:
Method One: I get to step 2, select Import from Scanner, and nothing happens. The list that is supposed to be displayed in step 3 never comes.
Method Two: I open the Image Capture app in step 1, but when it comes up, it says "No camera or scanner connected."
Method Three: I get the Print & Fax printer browser opened as in step 3, but cannot move on to step 4 because there is no scan tab.
What can I do to get this to work? I tried contacting HP online chat, but they told me they do not offer support to Mac users on there. I sent them an email through their contact page but you know how that will probably go...
I'm an intermediate computer user, although I'm relatively new to Mac, so be easy on me! I'm scared to break this laptop I've fallen in love with. Many thanks to you all in advance, and my apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere - I was unable to find anything with this particular HP model and situation. I noticed HP does not seem very Mac-friendly!

Is this scanning from the PC and/or from the printer? Did it ever scan previously? Is this connected by USB/wired/wireless?
As far as the software, it would be a good idea to update your software, and I would recommend downloading the latest software at this location:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1153494&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
Just pick the right operating system, and get the download and run it. That may fix the scanning issue you are having.

  • Officejet 7210 all-in-one duplex problem

Since connecting Officejet 7210 to laptop running Vista Business, the 2-sided printing accessory with rear tray is not recognised. I have been using the Deskjet 990C driver for 2-sided printing but it does not recognise the rear tray. Am unable to print photos using the rear tray, & when I try to load the 4x6 photo paper into main tray, the image will only print from the centre position of an A4 page, not the location when the tray is adjusted for the 4x6 (10cm x 15cm) stock. How can I enable the rear tray to feed the photo stock.
Is there an updated driver for the 7210 that supports the duplexer with rear tray or what other workaround can you recommend?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Since the duplexer and rear tray were optional on the Officejet 7210 the driver will default to them being "not installed".  Go to the printers folder, right click on the 7210, Properties, Device settings, Installable Options and set the Duplex Unit and the Rear Tray to installed, Apply, OK.
Once this is done the rear tray should be accessible and you can try duplex printing.  You will probably need a patch to correct the back side printing upside down when duplexing, this is available as described here.

  • How Do I get my HP 1510 All-In-One Printer install without a CD

  • Getting HP Officejet 5600 All-in-One to print from wireless network?

I have the printer, via  USB cable, hooked up to my desktop. I have both my desktop and my wife's notebook hooked up to our wireless network via Cisco Linksys WUSB600N USB adapters. Using Cisco Linksys WRT610N router. The Best Buy sales person said as long as I had the printer hooked up to my desktop and my desktop was on or in sleep mode that we could print from my wife's notebook. I have added the printer driver to the notebook. Now I cannot even get a test sheet to print using my wife's notebook. The printer still prints from my desktop. Do I have to hook the printer up to the router via USB cable to get this to work or what?  This wireless thing is still a bit new to me. Any help, suggestions and/or answers will be greatly appreciated. I eagerly await your helpful replies. Thanks!

I know I'm likely bumping an old topic...but hopefully this will help someone else.
    This *is* possible.
The best way is to enable sharing on the primary (desktop computer that sleeps.) computer after installing it properly on the desktop. Find out the IP address that your modem has assigned to this computer, save it!
Then, on the laptop, go into the "run" menu and type in the IP address of your desktop, starting with "\\."
(So, if your IP is, 123.456.7.890. You would type into the run box of your laptop, "\\123.456.7.890" without the quotes.)
At this point, you may be prompted for a username and password on your laptop. Simply put in any username and password that you have on the desktop when you first start the desktop up. (If a menu requesting username and password does not appear, simply move on.) I would advise you to check the box labeled "Save this information."
At this point a new window should appear, it will show all network resources available to you on the desktop. If you've shared the files properly on the desktop, the printer should be showing in this menu. Simply double-click on the printer that you wish to use, and voila! Your laptop should install all of the required drivers and be connected. Be forewarned, your printer must connect directly through to the desktop computer. DO NOT have the printer connect through a USB hub before it reaches the desktop, this may cause communication issues later on.
There's really a bunch of guides out there on this type thing, but you do have to search for them. I hope that I managed to help you and anyone else out there that's wondering the same but can't drop money on a printer that's brand new.
(Lastly...if it doesn't want to print. Restart both the desktop and printer. Most of the time that fixes it.)

Try the troubleshooting steps in this page.  If the x-bais spring is dislodged as sown in Figure 11 then check the flex circuitry.  If the flex is not damaged you may be able to use eopxy to put the x-bias spring back in place.  If the flex is damaged as in (2) below you will need to repair or replace the printer.

  • HP Officejet 7300xi all-in-one not installing.

    Hi,
Just got a new job and have to connnect this printer to my HP comuputer. I'm assuming the computer is a Windows7/vista, but am not sure on how many bits.
Regardless, I have the cd-rom to download and install the printer software. It reads the cd, checks for updates, and then tells me that it won't install.
To get to the point - is this printer just not compatable with my type of computer?
    Thanks

    Hi margerina,
I noticed your post about trying to install the Officejet 7300xi on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer and having troubles with the installation. I am going to recommend trying the downloadable software and driver in this case to see if that works for you.
First of all, you would need to find out which operating system you have.
Click this link to find out which version you are running: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows/which-operating-system
From there, click this link next to download the software, you will need to select your operating system, select Next, select Driver and then Download. Once the download completes, the installation will start, follow the on-screen instructions.

  • 7210 All-in-one with Windows 7 Draft print extremely slow

I have an Officejet 7210 All-in-One printer and a computer with Windows 7 32bit installed.  I downloaded and installed the print driver for windows 7.  Printing was working fine including fast printing.  I changed the default color preference from "high quality" to "grayscale black only" and now my draft printing is extremely slow.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    jsin007

    Hi
The 7210 was always a good workhorse printer.
It may be that your slow printing issue is related to installing the Windows 7 driver. When the Windows 7 print driver was installed it may be that the Windows 7 installer did not remove the older print driver correctly. This may cause conflict issues which could possibly cause the slow printing you are experiencing.
I do have a link to a troubleshooting page for a printer not printing after the installation of the Windows 7 driver.  It involves downloading a print driver removal utility & then re-installing the Windows 7 driver.

  • Cannot scan, fax, or copy from HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One E709a

I can print from my HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One E709a, but I cannot scan, copy, or fax.  All drivers and updates are current; no recent updates were made prior to the problems occurring. I use Windows 7 64-bit.  When the printer is turned on, it always shows Original Loaded, but no documents are in the feeder or on the glass (I have already cleaned the glass and have ensured that the cover sits tightly).  I am having problems scanning, copying, and faxing. The automatic document feeder is functioning.  I have tried to reset the printer several times.
When I try to Scan a document in the document feeder (it does feed through) or from the glass, I get variable responses – rarely, it appropriately asks how I want to save/handle the doc (e.g., save as pdf), but the document does not actually scan and I am directed to Reload the document OR it displays No Scan Options. The document does not show in My Scans.
When I try to Copy, it shows the document as copying, but there is a long delay before the progress bar occurs.  When I copy using the document feeder, I actually get a copy (rarely and always faded-looking) or the copy prints out blank—both results are always followed by an error message to Reload the document.  When copying from the glass, the copy prints out blank with an error message to Reload the document
The same problems occur when trying to Fax.   Whether trying to scan, copy, or fax, the printer is making a lot of sounds of gears whirring.
Again, I can print a document from my PC without any problems – the problem is limited to scanning, faxing, and copying.
I have tried the HP Print & Scan Doctor.  It always stops at the HP Twain Scan step, saying the Scan process was cancelled by the user (not true).  When I click on Continue, it proceeds down to the Test Scan step, but nothing happens when I click on the Test Scan button.  It will only allow me to Skip at that point.   All of the other steps show green checks.

My first question is really going to get to the core of the issue, I heard you say that the printer makes sounds, but if you lift the lid does the bar A) travel across the screen and B) light up?
