Cannot get IMAP gmail over wifi
For several months now I have been unable to access imap gmail on my work's wifi network. It works other places and over edge/3g. I can still access the internet however. I'm assuming a port has been blocked. I tried turning off SSL to no avail. Does anyone have any other suggestions to try?
Also, appears to be affecting iMessage. I can send, but only as a text message, not iMessage and only over LTE, not wifi. I cannot receive any text of any type. They do show up on my iPad because the text was sent from an iPhone 4.
Thanks!

Can anyone tell me why maps cannot determine my location over wifi?
can anyone tell me why maps cannot determine my location over wifi?
If you only have the wifi only version iPad then the location is derived from the router that you are connected to - if it's not in the database that Apple use then your location can't be determined. Only the 3G iPad has a built-in GPS chip. If you have another wifi-only iOS device that does get a location then you could try this https://discussions.apple.com/message/15446656#15446656

With ios8.1 cannot get new gmail or use Safari?
with ios8.1 cannot get new gmail or use Safari?
Hello anderson113,
It may help to force close the affected apps, then restart your iPhone.
Force an app to close in iOS
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5137
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1430
If you're still experiencing issues, the next step would be to restore the device.
Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iCloud or iTunes

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

"Cannot Get Mail" using iPad WiFi but works with 3G
I have a iPad 3G. Today I started have a problem reading my mail from Exchange. I get "Cannot Get Mail" when I use WiFi, but when I use my 3G (with the WiFi off) it works fine. I can do everything else on WiFi, and this is a new problem. I have already tried resetting the iPad and that didn't help. What do I do?
This has worked for over a month and I just started having problems today. This afternoon, it was working every now and then over WiFi, but not consistently. Everything else works fine, so I don't think it is my ISP.

Cannot get G Mail to accept my password, even after changing it. Cannot get on-line to send or retrieve messages. Help? Roger1289
Hi Roger,
Does gMail's WebMail work with the same login & password?
Here are two steps that have come in handy in related situations
1) login to gmail on your computer or device via a web browser
2) once logged in successfully, go to this URL to unlock:
https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptch -
As of this morning my email gives the following message: "Cannot Get Mail The user name or password for "Gmail" is incorrect"
I have:
1) re-input the user name and password.
2) powered the phone off and back on
3) deleted the account and re set up gmail from scratch
4) confirmed that the user name and password work on the computer
5) sync'd my iphone with itunes
All result with the same error. I have seen one posting that says there is a solution, however the solution was that gmail just started working again.
Anyone actually found the reason/solution for this?Go to this link - and unlock the account.
This is a known issue - no resolution yet. -
IPhone 5 cannot send SMTP email over wifi
I am having trouble sending smtp email using port 587 over wifi, when the device has wifi off it sends just fine. The same issue occurs with my iPad as well. Issue occurs on multiple wifi connections. when i use a iPhone4 it connects and sends just find over wifi. Is this a known issue with 6.1 or iPhone 5 in general? the issue started about 2 months ago for both devices and there were no changes made to wifi network.
If your connecting from outside your mail server network you might need to authenticate
Check your smtp settings
Have a look at your mail setting and compare to the device that's working -
Why does the YouTube app say "Cannot Connect to YouTube" over Wifi or 3G?
Hi, everyone.
When I open the YouTube app with Wifi or 3G, it says "Cannot Connect to YouTube." I've browse a few sites, and the number one response is to reset the router. I tried resetting the router (Latest Apple AirPort Extreme) to factory default and Restoring the iPad 2 from Backup. I would believe the router issue to be plausible if 3G worked. Since YouTube doesn't work over 3G, I don't believe the router is the issue.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you.Me too, ipad mini can't get YouTube app to function via the official app and the same error message," ...tap to retry", but to no avail. The app launches but it will not allow me to sign in. The drop arrow just tilts up and down and ...nothing. I can still access YouTube through Safari browser but strange, I can't find a solution to the app not opening or being able to sign in on either ipad mini or phone even though they are up to date apps.

I changed to a 4s and cannot get my Gmail to work, although it still runs on my 3Gs
I have just migrated to a iPhone4 and cannot connect to my Gmail account, although it is still functioning on my older 3Gs. Any suggestions
Try a full power down reset and reboot.
Also, make sure you have WiFi enabled and are
connected to a WiFi network. iOS upgrades are
not supported over a cellular connection. -
Cannot get push notification 3g/wifi turn on at the same time
Dear all,
our mail server is lotus notes traveler and iphone is iphone4 running iOS7.
when turn on 3g and wifi at the same time, e-mail is'nt pushed.
3g is vodafone and wifi is our company's network.
if turning on either 3g or wifi , it works well.
There are always these "Domain=NSURLErrorDomain" error , error code comes up with1001,1009,1044.
Of course travelserver is runnning, I guess the problem is iPhone cannot resolve DNS, connect to server, and so on but I'm not sure.
Does anyone ever encounter before ? Do you have any idea ?

What you report has been noticed by many others, and when coordinated with others it gets even stranger -- many people, in different parts of the world, with different BB10 devices, on different carriers and OS levels, all experience this symptom all at the same time. It is very odd.
Usually, it just lasts a few seconds or minutes. But, about 48 hours ago (a little less as I recall), there was an extended outage...about 4 hours by the count of some I know.
BB is aware, but that's all we know at this time.
Good luck!

I just restored my phone and cannot get my gmail account and an exhcange account to work
I took my wife's iphone 5S and just restored from my laptop. Everything came through OK except that when I type in my password for my gmail account it does not accept it.
I think I finally found my solution. Did Apple support chat, which lead me to go back to Google/Gmail website, which lead me to try to access that website on the iphone, which while messing around on it I came across some questions about problems with POP and IMAP. Anyway, they said if you are having problems with messages only being delivered to one device even while using POP, you should insert "recent:" before your username. So if you have an email of [email protected] instead of using that as the username, you would use RECENT:[email protected]
Hallelujah, what a relief! -
How can I get my default email to work on my iPad? Gmail in my browser is fine, but I can't send anything if I am not in gmail. Why is my mail icon not working?
You probably messed up the password/ server set up. Delete the account from the pad, and re enter it. Pay real close attention to the password entry. Upper lower case etc. if they ask you for an optional name a second time, fill it in. G mail works fine on mine.

IOS7 cannot play Netflix movie over wifi
Since upgrading to IOS7 (updated iPad2, updated 3 iPhone 4 models, and purchased iPhone 5s), I am unable to use Netflix to watch a movie, while connected to my wifi network in my home. My Android tablets, gaming consoles, and computers work fine with Netflix. Using cell data and other networks with the same IOS devices and the same Netflix app appears to work fine. But I can not play a movie over my wifi on my IOS7 devices.
I have a Netgear WRN2000v4 router, with the latest firmware. I have the latest version of the Netflix app. I use WPA2-PSK encryption on my router, but also tried WPA-PSK, at the suggestion of my ISP. I have contacted Apple, Netflix, and my ISP. They have no answers. I have also emailed Netgear, but have not heard back from them yet. In speaking with Netflix, I am not the only one experiencing this issue. Any suggestions out there?I have the same problem. I had an iPad 3 and I swapped it (so far it seems I downgraded) for a mini iPad. Now my Netflix only works if I am standing next to my Netgear router, I never had this problem with my iPad 3. My other devices work fine with my router. I too changed the WPA-PSK, did a hard reset I am curious to find out the answer to this problem too!
