Cannot get ipod to work or sync with Itunes.

I have tried to connect my ipod to Itunes several times and it does not work.It just a red circle with an x in it.Can anyone help me?

Does it charge from the power outlet?  If not, try a different cable to see if yours is bad.  If still no luck it could be a bad dock connector and a visit to the Apple store genius bar will probably help.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • I cannot get my touch 4 to sync with itunes using w8.1

I am unable to sync my touch or ipad to itunes. I am using windows 8.1.  all software is current as far as up dates goes.  I don't know where to go from here.

If iTunes does not see the devices:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • Cannot get music on iPhone to sync with iTunes on iMac

When I plug in my iPhone to my iMac, and I sync everything in iTunes, my music purchased doesn't show up in my iTunes on my computer. No album, no cloud, nothing.
Now, when I go to my iPhone it's showing a cloud next to all the new purchased music. It's grey now and I can't  play it without haaving to download from cloud. It's not on my computer and I even looked into iCloud and nothing is there. It's not even selected to sync music.
I want my all music on my computer. how do I acheive this? and If it's stored in the cloud, how do I access it and play it?

  • HT1535 My ipod touch will not sync with itunes I have restored it to factory settings and have now lost all my music how do I get it to sync to get it back it keeps saying it has timed out whilst waiting to sync...

My ipod touch will not sync with itunes I have tried to restore it to the factory settings and have now lost what little music I had on it I have music in my itunes but it wont sync for some reason .. please help ..

Why won't it sync? Are you getting any sort of error message during the sync process?  If so what is the exact wording of that error message?  If this the computer you normally sync the iPod with?

  • My ipod is no longer syncing with itunes however, my iphone does.  They both worked until recently and I've made no changes to my computer.  My itunes and OS are both updated to the newest version..

My ipod is no longer syncing with itunes however, my ipone does.  Everything is updated to the newest versions, itunes 10.5 and Mac OSx 10.6.8.

What happens when you try to sync? Error messages?

  • After restoring ipod nano it wont sync with itunes. states error 13019 occured

after restoring ipod nano it wont sync with itunes. states error 13019 occured

I seem to recall that another user has this problem and found that it was because of some corrupted music files they were trying to sync over.
Try syncing smaller bunches of tracks till you come upon the ones that cause the error. You should be able to find out which ones are causing the trouble this way.
The other user said they used something called MP3Diags. I cannot vouch for this software at all, I have never used it.
I did a quick search on "how to repair MP3 files on Mac" and also found this:

  • IPod shuffle doesn't sync with iTunes??

iPod shuffle doesn't sync with iTunes??

After connecting it, the light should continue to flash (if you use the Manually manage music or Enable disk use setting), or it should become a solid (not flashing) color (if you use automatic syncing).  The light going OFF may indicate that the shuffle is not able to charge.  You are using the original USB cable that came with the shuffle (it has a mini-dock), correct?
That problem could be caused by the shuffle itself.  Since a 2nd gen shuffle is at least five or six years old at this point, it may be the battery becoming worn out.  It may also be a problem on the USB port.  As a test, try shutting down (powering off) the Mac and disconnect all USB devices (including any hub), except for standard keyboard and mouse (if used).  Do this to reset the shuffle
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1655
Start up the Mac, run iTunes, and connect the shuffle to a direct USB port on the Mac.  Is there any difference?

  • I've downloaded an audiobook from my local public library and have already listened to it.  It still shows up on my IPod, but when I sync with iTunes, I can't find it our delete it.  Please advise?

Sometimes simply restarting your iTunes, the computer and the iPad is all that it takes to correct an issue like this so try that. Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, and restart the iPad. Then try the sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

My iPod touch WILL NOT sync with iTunes. I have 6.1.3 on my touch & latest on ITunes. Why won't it sync????

    What happens when you try?
    Does anything sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

  • Ipod classic won't sync with itunes 10.6.3

My new iPod Classic 7th Gen (2.0.5 mac) is not syncing with iTunes 10.6.3. I get an error message telling me to update iTunes to a version above 10.7.
This is not possible on a Powermac G5 (10.5.8) since it has no Intel Core.
Is there any way to restore the the iPod Classic to an earlier firmware version (before 2.0.5), that can communicate with iTunes 10.6.3?
    Cheers, Joern.

Then I guess this iPod is going back to the store. I have a PPC G5, and everything was working fine. But, I just lost my iPod classic from two years ago, and just bought a replacement... now I cannot use iTunes 10.6.3 to synch with it. I am *not* buying a new computer *just* to sync my iPod. I will try linux synch software and if that doesn't work then it's going back to the store.

  • IPod Touch no longer syncing with iTunes?

    Mac OS X v10.4.11
    - all software up to date
    - iTunes 9.2.1 (5); no later updates available on this machine
    iPod Touch v3.1.3
This iPod Touch used to sync to iTunes just fine and dandy. Now it won't. I'm seeing that *now* in order to sync I have to upgrade (i.e. get a new mac) to v10.5?
    What gives?
Both used to sync fine and now they don't. Did Apple pull a fast one on me?

But my point is that one day it worked fine, and now it doesn't. Why would it stop working, if it once was supported? Did Apple push an update to my iPod which made it not supported by my machine? If so, that's pretty low.
If I buy a device and it works fine with my mac, it should stay working fine with my mac.

  • I have a 5th gen ipod that won't sync with itunes. It is recognized in itunes.

I have a 5th generation iPod that will no longer sync with iTunes even though it is recognized in iTunes.

The message has nothing to do with iPhones or iDevices and makes no sense.
iDevices do not get authorized, computers do.
What are you really trying to do?
